5 other shops flat out told me they would not help me with my situation but Master Auto Center accommodated me. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Im stoked to have found a place to do business with like here.

Be warned! They charge for labor by the book price, not actual time! I used to love these guys and thought that they were honest but I just got charged almost $800 for a job that averages 200 to 400 max (online assessment for Serpentine belt and tensioner replacement) I think they assumed that I have money to burn, or that I am just stupid. I was hoping they would come down in their price because they charged me for 2 hours labor @ $140 per hour. When I complained, they gave me a 3% discount. So disappointed and won’t be back.

Got these people are very rude change the price on me several times and they told me they had my tires I went down there and they had the wrong tires after driving 30 miles and they want to raise the price again on two tires I didnt need that they accidentally ordered the wrong tires and it like charging me too much money very bad place.i must say that they called me back to the shop. And comped me 50 dollars for gas. And are willing to work with me on getting the things I needed to get fixed. So they are very nice you know now I just have to say that this Master Auto center theyre very greedy theyre not nice to customers all they gave me $50 for wasting my gas money but then they turn around and want to charge $158 for an oil change its just unbelievable these people have no care for people that dont have a lot of money just overcharge people big time

We had called these guys about fixing our air conditioner and they were friendly and accommodating. So we make appointment for Friday and bring it at noon. Never heard anything back all day and knowing it’s Friday and they’re closed on weekends and close at 430 we Uber back to the shop at 415. Nothing had been done to the truck, they charged over two hundred just open the hood( which, by the way, they never closed)!! Did they even diagnose the problem? Who knows! Never got an email except for the reciept of opening our hood.Needless to say never going here again and hope no one else has to deal with this kind of run around .

There is literally no other place I will ever go but here. Tommy’s team took care of my car, that I’ve had for 12 years, like it was their own flesh and blood. Attention to detail and going the extra mile to buff out my scratches, change my burnt out blinker, and vacuum the carpets are just a few examples of the great service I’ve experienced here. Been on the island 3 years and never gone anywhere else. If I could give them 11 stars I would.

Risky Safety InspectionIt is really sad that I can no longer recommend Master Auto Center to friends as I have routinely done in the past. I was surprised at the nonchalant attitude toward community safety I encountered there when I took my car in for the annual vehicle inspection. Only two of the six employees I saw, and only one of the two people I dealt directly with were wearing masks. Health experts have overwhelmingly promoted masks as an effective, research-back tactic— but one that works best only if everyone participates. This business does not support basic community health standards. They did a good job being concerned about the safety of my car, but not about my safety. This business is too risky and nonchalant about community and customer safety during the pandemic.

I had a unique issue with an aftermarket starter. Its had blown my battery and while others suspected complete electrical damage, Masters knew it was more than likely something much simpler. They found the issue, a simple reset of the device and I was on my way.

Ive never felt so welcome in a car shop. Beautiful strong wife who knows how to run a business like its no big deal and a husband who can and WILL make you laugh. Tommy made me feel like i can take care of my truck, even if I do a job on my own. He doesnt shove sales down your throat but he will tell you if something should seriously be considered.

I am writing this review on behalf of Nicole. The tires for my car were a unique size... the initial quote was very high! Costcos quote was almost identical But... Nicole looked to see if another size of tire would fit! The savings was over $300. I was so pleased. In fact, I called her about 5 times and she never got annoyed with me either! All of my car care needs will be handled by MAC in the future.

I recently got a flat tire on my car and after running into a few shops that’s where a nightmare to deal with, this shop changed my outlook on a tire dealership. I think it was the owner that I met, but he was so friendly. He gave me a great rate and changed my tire in less than 20 minutes. I was amazing. I would highly recommend this company 100%.

From the start May and Ian talked with me about the wheel alignment issues I had with my 2007 Ford Ranger. I just came from another business who wouldn’t even help me with the alignment until I agreed to repair other issues I had with my truck. I live on a fixed income and can’t afford to pay almost $500 at the other business and was so grateful that Master Auto Center took me in. I’m not a Dollar Sign to Master Auto but a human being who needed help and they were willing to help me without feeling pressured and I will Highly Recommend Master Auto to all my friends and family and as a Local Hawaiian I have a Huge Ohana.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I went to get my valve cover gasket replaced, my car had no issue other than leaking oil. When I picked my car up they tacked on a $100 charge for work that I did not ask them to do, and they did not ask me if I was okay with them doing it before charging me. after doing work on it, they were having trouble getting my car to start, an issue that Id never had before taking it here. I left and returned hours later when they said it was in running condition, didnt even make it around the block before it broke down and I had to push it out of a busy intersection. When I went back to ask how they could help they said it wasnt their fault and that they would charge my to look at it and fix it, despite the fact that I TOOK IN A PERFECTLY RUNNING CAR AND AFTER THEY DID WORK ON IT IT WILL NOT START AT ALL. Very disappointed in their unprofessionalism handling this situation.

I called them to replace one tire For a flat - this was on a Friday. The guys said he had a Firestone in one of their warehouses and to call first thing Saturday morning to get it installed - quoted me at $115 tire and install. This sounded too good to be true and it was! I go in on Saturday and they do not have the tire in stock and their warehouse that has it is closed on Saturday...they have a more expensive one on hand. I said no thanks so they tell me to come in first thing Monday morning and they will have the tire I was originally quoted for and will install it. I drop it off at 9 and say I’m be back around 1:00 - ok sounds good! Again, too good to be true. John calls me and says actually none of their warehouses have the Firestone tire in stock but they can sell me two at $205 each of another brand. I told them to put on my spare and I would pick it up and took my car to United Tire where they have a tire in stock, on sight and can install it today. Which proves to be true, unlike ‘Master Auto Center’. These guys are unorganized, have bad communication skills and may or may not be trying to swindle their customers- if it sounds too good to be true over the phone, it definitely is because you will get a different story depending on who you talk to.

Any tire shop that checks to see if the tire can be repaired before even mentioning replacement get high marks for customer service. I had checked in with a nation chain that does good work but they said the wait would be over 4 hours. I dropped my car off at Master Auto Center, went out to get a coffee and my car was done before my coffee was.

Everytime I come here, its really fast and great service. Went in for a new tire, the guy came back out just to let me know something minor was a little broken. But slapped that tire on and had me back on the road in less than 10 minutes. Call them first, they will do what they can👌

Truly one of the most wonderful experiences Ive had with a repair shop! They (specifically Tommy) were incredibly communicative and helpful in repairing my car. I went in for a shifted bumper on my nissan versa and scratches and walked out with a perfect car! they explained everything that was being done, remained in contact while it was being repaired, and were extremely kind in person. I have also had an alignment done and the results were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this place! Tommy and all the guys are so helpful.

Been living on Maui for six years and finally found a great auto shop! I needed to fix a wheel rim and possibly replace the tire. Tommy and his crew were friendly and fast. Though Tommy recommended to replace the tire, he did not pressure me. SR helped me out in a tough situation and didnt stress me out over it. Will definitely be back !

This place is amazing. Last week I had some serious break problems and went to another place to have them looked at, after that place failed me I searched for somewhere I could trust. I live around the corner from Master Auto Center so when I saw they did breaks I was excited to go see them. The owner went above and beyond to help me on a very stressful day, they were very reasonable on the price, they walked me through exactly what I needed and showed me so I knew they werent just trying to pad the bill. They had the work done quickly and he offered me every thing they could to help take care if me. I cant stress enough how kind they are here. Its been a week and the breaks are doing great, no other mishaps have arisen so Id absolutely say A++ job.Fun side story, last year my daughter was walking our dog and got pretty badly hurt. The owner saw it happen, patched her up and brought her home to me. This is a company you can trust with the safety of your car and family.

Aloha, I typically dont take too much time to write Google reviews...but feel the need based on the amazing service from the owners @ Master Auto. It was Friday May 29th @ 4PM when my radiator started to leak water and I was driving around Kahului (I live in Kihei). I pulled off to the side of the road and called every shop I could find in the Kahului area...no one wanted to service me with these emergency conditions...typical Friday afternoon, cant wait to finish up, even when I asked for emergency service and Id be willing to pay extra for a tech to stay longer....everyone could not be bothered. So I googled Car Repair and saw the ad from Master Auto Center and btw with great google reviews...so I called them. The owners wife could not of been more gracious over the phone and told me to come in. The owner provided me a fast quote and I paid directly to have the work done. I truly felt like Master Auto appreciated my business....understood my sense of urgency and really understood what it means to help customers out when in need. If you want to vote with your $$ to businesses that truly understand and appreciate customer service....please support Master Auto Center. They stayed a bit late to help me out and I cant say how grateful and refreshing it was to do business with them. Much aloha!

I got my two front tires replaced here as well as my alignment, highly recommend. The people here were so friendly and helpful and were able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. I had called several other places and received unhelpful and half ass answers. From calling around I have found most places dont even offer same day appointments, but rather expect you to walk in and wait for a possible slot, but Kai, the desk employee at SR got me an appointment and worked out a great price for the tires and alignment. After all is said and done I am happy with the service and the work done.

We got all 4 of our tires replaced here. Great customer service and prices! I visited/called a lot of places to inquire and Master Auto was by far the best! Not only was I looking for competitive prices but also people who care about their customers. Wait wasn’t too long either.

The staff is very welcoming and anticipates your needs as you present your car and the need for repairs. If there is any waiting period,, the staff updates you as the repairs progress. Also, the price is right!!

I thought Id actually found a shop where I wouldnt get screwed. Couldnt get the owner to return my calls. He really seemed to be a great guy, but I dont think he knows whats going on, he didnt even know Id put down a deposit. ( I had just prior had her there and spent a bundle) Next time I pick up truck and steering wheel upside down. That was fixed right then. Got home and steering wheel wont lock(its not the tumblers, like one of the mechanics tried to say. The lock is only 4 yrs old, as whole column was repaired and rebuilt at dealership) the wiper washer isnt hooked up(that too also worked before) The right signal wont work at all now. Im so disgusted. Im actually terrified that if theyd own up and fix it, something else would get screwed up that Id have to pay for.Its reassuring to know that you cant return calls, but can respond to a review.What happened to your previous response posted right after my review, the one about how you did the best you could? At least you were being honest. Now youre blaming it on finances. I paid for an addional fuel pump and welding that I didnt need. The wiper/signal arm isnt installed correctly and parts that were working when I brought the vehicle to you, werent working after you had it...and you got paid handsomely for it! There are two things I detest, one is a liar and the other is a thief.

Called to inquire about pricing on a used tire was given price for a new tire and was told it would be anywhere below the cost of a new tire.Naturally I tried to get a more definitive answer than anywhere as I am all the way upcountry with a limited budget and reliant upon the kindness of a friend willing to give me a ride into town.After asking repeatedly about the prices of the used tires the only answer given besides anywhere below the cost of a new tire was that the used tires are outside and I would have to come and choose one.Perhaps I was not clear that the purpose of my call was find out a price BEFORE I ARRIVED!I dont have much money to spend but what little I have will not be spent with a shop that employs a staff to lazy to remove their ass from a chair to assist a potential customer.

I think this business is closed called on 3/28/17 multiple times no answer or voicemail message. Revision....So they are still open still cant figure out why they didnt answer the phone when I called 5 times. In any case I was able to make an appointment and got my vehicle aligned. They were quick and efficient no waiting my car went right in and was out quickly.

Absolutely Highest Recommendation for these folks! Personable, knowledgeable, and reliable - everything you want in an auto repair shop. I took my 2006 GMC Yukon for new brakes and shocks and they stayed with it until it was done - even a bit after hours to make sure I got it back the same day. The final bill was even a little less than quoted because a part of the estimated work didnt need doing - can you imagine that!

Other places either didnt have what I needed or had but asked at least 2x and some even 3x more $ for the service also telling me Ill need to wait for couple hours to have it done and schedule an appointment if I want the work done the same day.Here - I got the work done within 15 min. also was explained some helpful details about the tires my car needs that no other auto service I checked out cared to do.

Friendly service. I busted a lug stud when rotating my tires a while ago and warned them about it before they started. The tech found the broken stud and replaced it while doing my tire change. The extra charge was about $20.All in all a very great experience. The girl was friendly and quoted me a great price. The mechanic was very quick, I was in and out of there in under an hour. With 4 new tires and a new lug nut...Tires look great and feels great. I drove home to Lahaina with no issues. I pushed my runner to 65mph and no issues what so ever.Price was very nice, just over $600 for all 4 new tires. Would be around $580 if they didnt have to replace the stud that I broke..lol...Well worth my time to drive to Waiehu.

My Chevy Express van needed an alignment and the people at SR Discount tire went beyond the call. The staff are good, honest people, doing work at reasonable rates. Highly recommended for your tire and alignment needs.

At first, I was WARY of buying used tires, but when I went to the shop, I was astonished at how honest and helpful the owner was. He took the time to look at my truck and instead of pushing me to buy 4 tires, he said he could rotate them, and I would only have to replace the 2 bald tires saving me a ton of money. He then took the time to show me the stock of tires, explaining to me what each of the tire numbers meant. ex. 225/70R15.For 2 meaty tires,mount, balance and rotate, I spent $90. It was done within minutes. Goodyear and Maui Off Road gave me quotes of $500+ for 2 tires.I will always be buying my tires at SR from now on.

Delightful folks, great service... a bit difficult to locate as you cant see it from the street. I suggest you put the address and phone number on the website mobile ap so folks can find you easier. But my experience was delightful... especially the lady who helped me (at the front desk). Very efficient, friendly and helpful!

The first time I got a Used tire here it went flat the very next day.After 12 years I decided to give it a second chance. I called to see if they had a used tire they said they did but they were unable to give Tire prices over the phone. So I took my time to drive down there and they charged me $94.50 for a used tire.I called Costco and a new tire out the door was $113. My mistake I will never use his tire shop again and recommend you don’t either!

I ended up in a weird situation where I had locked lug nuts but didn’t have the lug nut key. They squeezed me in without an appointment and had speedy service. They removed all locked lugnuts and got new tires on for me at a decent price. I will be coming back and will recommend their service to others! They can do all sorts of car work, not just tire stuff too!

Got my wheel alignment and now its pulling to my passenger side. Definitely not recommended for alignment here. But Good service and friendly.

I dont care what anyone says. Im new to the island and this owner operator has only been respectable and fair. Ive bought used tires and had my rear brakes done and he has always given me the best deal possible. He will have my business as long as I live here.

I recently had two tires replaced on my 1989 325i, which requires 14 tires that are very hard to find on island. The price is right, and they had me in and out in no time at all!!!

I don’t recommend. While the owner and his wife seem like very nice people, after several visits to the shop I finally realized that I have been swindled out of quite a bit of money. They have made mistakes in their work and refuse to fix it. They charge hundreds more for services than other shops, and even though their quotes literally say in writing that they will price match, they refuse to do so. They have insisted my car needed costly repairs when it did not. I have paid them more than $1500 in less than a year for unnecessary repairs before I figured out that they were being dishonest. Writing this review makes me very sad. I gave them every opportunity to make things right and they refused. I am posting this to hopefully save another unsuspecting person from going through what I did.

All 4 brakes done, including rotors, some calipers, and the sway links on a 2003 Subaru Baja..perfect! Julius and the other technicians did a great job, very careful, precise, and attended to the details that make a complex job work right. Better service than the box-box stores, and as a bonus they found and fixed a rattle that other shops couldnt find. The cost for the job was perfectly reasonable and every step of the way they kept me up-to-date on the process. Highly recommended!

I have to say they always fix their mistakes. it is rare on Maui to find a shop that will admit they are wrong and fix the problem even of i had to stay in the shop until from 1pm to 8pm that night, the second time John the manager did not do my alignment right i had to heckle with him a bit but after 39 minutes he put my ranger on the lift and fixed the alignment properly

These guys are super fast and awesome and its very reasonable to get your tire fixed year they can fix almost any tire for under $30 or you can get a used one for under 50 dollars. And the customer service is outstanding.

This is my go to place for any tire issues and any non major electrical car issues. They are quick, can usually fit you in on short notice and most importantly are honest. They do not pad a diagnosis and are very professional.

Do not even bother with this place. Went there for a basic safety inspection- Patao was closed. First, the mechanic had no idea what key to even use for my car but tried insisting on trying to drive my right hand classic anyway. He laughed when I told him you break it you buy it. Thank god my man was with me to bark at the a hole to get out of my car. Then, during the safety check another guy comes walking over on the phone and asking me questions. I asked him who he was talking to and he replied with the guy who lets me do safety. He then proceeds to run the inspection pretending like he knew what he was talking about - this classic has been my daily driver for 7yrs and Ive never had one ounce of drama in safety inspections. When there is no white bulbs anywhere on the rear of a classic, thatd be the first indicator theres no reverse lights - white lights wont magically appear without white bulbs. And yes, you can pass a right hand drive. And no, there is no spray for the wipers. After not knowing left from right, the guy came back saying my insurance card wasnt good enough. You mean the one that dmv accepts, law enforcement accepts and every other safety inspection Ive passed in two different states for the last ten years? Whats the best is, if you didnt accept that insurance as valid then how come your office did before the inspection ever started, when the lady collected my money? This place is a joke, move on fast.
