Tarpley Music, Waco delivers top notch service…. period, full, stop.I bring all my guitars to Bob to work through setup problems. He takes time to talk through your expectations. He watches you play to determine how individual style and attack affects playability and then fine tunes your instrument accordingly. He takes time explaining the limitations and nuances of your instrument. I always leave learning something. And if there’s a major problem that he’s unable to repair, he will recommend how and where the work should be done. Waco is lucky to still have a local music shop with staff that knows their stuff.

Tarpley Music, Waco store is outstanding with a great staff! I Took 2 guitars in for new strings on Tuesday and was told (upfront) that the Tech comes in on Wed. Fair enough. I got a call early Wed morning (Today) from the Tech (Bob) himself stating that my guitars were ready. Furthermore, I got both of them back corrosion inspected, cleaned up, polished, the necks conditioned, components adjusted, fine tuned, the Works! My 20+ year old guitars looked brand new! I was not expecting this. Fast turn around and Top notch! Like a gem in the rough, this is the kind of business and superb work ethic that Made America. Its hard to find service like this anymore. I have had some issues with Tarpleys in the past, but they had the best prices on Saxophones. We purchased them there. I know that COVID has interfered with deliveries. So, Tarpleys was able to order the saxophones and let me know when they arrived.

Tarpley Music has been incredibly helpful with every purchase I’ve made! I’ve rented a trumpet and had it serviced here and that experience was great! Everyone answered my daughter’s millions of questions about her new trumpet and were very patient with her enthusiasm. We also bought an acoustic guitar for my son and the guy who helped us with that was very encouraging when my son said he wanted to teach himself how to play. Another store we had looked at kept trying to push private lessons so I was very happy when the guy at Tarpley was offering tons of advice on where my son could get started.

This place is gives off a very serious vibe. Quite opposite of a GuitarCenter. You have seasoned persons who are very knowledgeable, although very focused on their day to day. Dont be afraid to ask for help as they leave you free to browse. There is a wide and diverse selection of instruments and gear. Again, a welcomed difference.

I went into Tarpley’s for the first time today for a guitar repair. Bob greeted me when I walked in, quickly diagnosed the problem, and took the time to help me on the spot. He was very thorough and explained the whole process. Bob’s customer service was outstanding. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Very cool location. Theyve got a really nice selection of acoustic guitars, as well as some good electric guitars and amps. For band instruments, they have a wide variety of products... Except for the mellophone lyre I needed. Thats okay though, because their service was fantastic and they tried everything they could to help me find something that would work.Ill definitely be coming back. I think that Tarpley is the best music store in the Waco area.

Good repair work at a reasonable price and turn-around time. Expert staff who dont mind if you are just browsing, but always ready with information as well as friendly conversation. Merchandise is out where you can pick it up and try it out, and the staff know when to step in and help and when to step back and let you try a few licks. I have never regretted coming in here.

They have all your music needs

Nice selection of Acoustic Guitars. Tarpley really feels alot more personable than some in town competitors, and is pretty even on price-points. I find it significantly more comfortable to go in and pick a guitar off the wall and sit down and play than in other places. Guitar set-ups are very reasonable- $25 + the cost of strings- and included adjusting the truss rod, eliminating fret buzz, lowering the action, and re-stringing. I dropped the guitars off Friday afternoon, and they were ready to go Saturday Morning. Check this place out, especially if you need a set-up!

After major repair to this light Daphne Blue 1959 Stratocaster was having some trouble with adjusting the intonationI took it into Bob and it didnt take long at all to fix me upthanks guys yall did a great job wont think twice about taking any of my equipment in for adjustments/repair

Took my guitar in to have it serviced. They did an excellent job and were quick and kind with quality work.

Jake is an excellent tech and when one of my saxophones has a booboo or gets sick, I know he’ll fix the horn properly and for a fair price.

Helpful and kind staff, affordable services, cannot recommend enough.

Staff is great and helpful, and they seem to carry a decent selection of items, however prices arent competitive. Ill continue to visit Tarpley for immediate needs, but if I can wait for shipping, Ill be paying a bunch less online.
