Lighthouse is an excellent place for coffee and cocktails. The staff truly know their work and are truly hardworking, they do their job very well - always quick to make you happy and comfortable, they work very hard at helping people, creating a nice atmosphere, and also working on their techniques and skills with cocktails, and coffee drinks. Never had a bad experience here - highly recommend for a “quick visit” or “sit & stay”. Other “bad reviews” people have made for Lighthouse is just purely due to misunderstanding and negative energy from the reviewer themself. Please try lighthouse out, promise you’ll enjoy the experience and or make a friend! :)

Have been here several times in the past with good experiences and often bring other colleagues and faculty here when in town for work. However, myself and our Baylor faculty team stopped in early one morning this past week and ordered drinks to go, as our work spaces are within walking distance. While exiting, we noticed my cup and my cup only had a cryptic message hand written on it in red marker… “You’ll never be bioluminescent.” Very creepy! We won’t be back.

It’s truly incredible how a coffee shop will literally refuse to sell you a retail bag of coffee, during the hours that they are “open” according to their website and google. I came in at 9:50 PM for nothing other than a bag of beans, which I was willing to pay for via apple pay, and was turned away by an incredibly rude man who claimed they had been “closed for several hours” despite the front door being open and the lights being on. Despite asking multiple times, and even offering a generous tip as a show of appreciate for literally just letting me but a bag of coffee, the bearded man refused even more rudely this time. Again, all I wanted was to overpay for a bag of beans. Amazing that this place is even allowed to stay open.

Great selection of original drinks. The Road Less Traveled was an inspired concoction. Although it also inspired sticker shock because it is pricey.

I go to Lighthouse for coffee and to read. Usually when I go there, it is not overly crowded. The coffee tastes good if you like coffee. I have yet to try the tea or wine. They do serve food, but I have not tried it yet. The coffee is worth the drive there for me.

Jadie was super sweet and very informative. She helped me pick out the perfect tea that suited my taste and level of caffeine I wanted. Tea is brewed fresh for each order with care and expertise. Variety of self-serve sweeteners, no cream. Very nice snack selection, too.

I went by Lighthouse to wait as my wife visited a local place for a facial. I found it stark with little comfort. Glare from outside made it difficult to find a place to use a screen easily. The very expensive pour-over bold roast coffee was insipid.

We stopped in for a glass of wine. Folks there had laptops out, working chatting, enjoying themselves and the place. Girl at the counter was very friendly and when we asked about a wine selection she asked her manager - who was just as friendly and knowledgeable. They have craft cocktails and are starting dinners on Fridays. We will be back.

Paid around 80 bucks for a 4 course meal for 2. The whole meal would have easily fit on a large plate. Not too impressed and nothing really stood out. The service was good. In short, the price was decent, the service acceptable, and the food was ok. Would I go back? Maybe for a date night....kind of girly for me.

I had a very genuine experience dining here while visiting Waco! The Friday night dinner was excellent and prepared with great detail. We even came back a few days later to get some coffee before heading out of town. The coffee was some of the best that I have ever had, and the staff was extremely friendly during both of my visits. Definitely recommend this location for a great meal or beverage!

Love this place. Never been for cocktails, but love that its an option. Their coffee is A+ and the baristas are all so nice. They all really know their stuff, too! Ive asked a number of questions about the tea, coffee, syrups, milks, you name it - and theyve always got great info about the brands they carry. The food is delicious too!

Many of the “5 star” comments/reviews above are made by management, staff, and close friends of staff in the last 24 hours after it was reviewed that they stole their so called “house” recipe from another local business, Loyalhood Syrups (who used to supply them if you’ve been there in since they’ve opened). This, as well as the mistreatment and horrible mismanagement of employees, is unacceptable. And while their coffee and building atmosphere is enjoyable, I refuse to support this business and encourage everyone else to do so. Pinewood, Dichotomy, Kurbside Coffee, and Common Grounds (as well as others) are all local coffee shop alternatives that you should support.

Ownership does not care about people.Facebook post from a friend of mine:“Waco folks: I will never give Lighthouse Coffee & Wine a dime again. You shouldn’t either. They stole this idea and recipe from a dear friend of mine and his startup syrup company after he worked at Lighthouse for about a year and was let go due to COVID-19 financial struggles. I’d encourage you to support local businesses who do not engage in sneaky dealings, backstabbing, and under-the-table exchanges. There’s SO MUCH good coffee in Waco... go support Common Grounds or Pinewood who are also both local roasters. There’s right and wrong in business practice, and in this situation, Lighthouse clearly chose to do the unethical, cheating thing instead of the right thing. Support your local Waco businesses who do things the right way.”

Lighthouse has recently been revitalized and I must say that the place is phenomenal! When I first came to Waco, I was consistently recommended to try certain coffee shops that receive a lot of attention in the Waco area. Although I will say that some of them were good, a couple of them were completely overrated. Beware of which coffee shop you go too! I have witnessed terrible customer service and stomache-urching hygiene issues at certain places. All of this to say, I have not had a single issue with Lighthouse! They stock the the best coffee I could find in Waco, and the customer service is clearly held to a golden standard! Not only that, their orignal syrups that they use have blown me away! I highly recommend coming here for amaizng coffee, wine, and cocktail services!

I am a former employee here and I can honestly say that I used to want everyone to try this coffee shop because of the product(olympia coffee roasters beans). due to employees who do not know the proper math and science that goes into creating a quality coffee product, their drinks are now awful. I would recommend going to any other coffee shop in waco before you try Lighthouse(that includes Starbucks Coffee). You can have good beans, but that isn’t what makes coffee good. Getting a quality drink and quality experience would mean you need an educated and compassionate staff. i have not seen this here. nor do i expect to anytime soon. Not one single person who started working there still does. every staff member is new and continues to change. they do not know how to make these drinks nor do they even realize they are making their drinks incorrectly. you need to admit there’s an issue if you plan to resolve it. This shop COULD be good. but potential doesn’t equate to present quality. You should check out some other good local coffee shops like Pinewood, Common Grounds, Brû, Kurbside, Or Dichotomy. These businesses care about their product, environment, and their customers experience. Even though these local places are already amazing, they continue to grow and strive to learn more. support businesses that want to know how they can be doing better. not ones who steal products and recipes from other local startups. Because that’s exactly what Lighthouse did. I think it is important to support local. but locals should support fellow locals. and this business has selfishly stolen so much already. keep that in mind the next time you’re craving a cup of coffee.
