Love this place, you can easily spend hours in here. Great selection of books, vinyl and digital. Everything in the store is under $3.99 and clearance items for $1or less.

Great staff, over loaded with inventory, you need to look closer and ask them questions. Because there are hidden gems all inside. Even palettes in the back too cheap to be fair to them. Be kind to these folks, there a under appreciated source in Waco. Too much coming in to price it high. Ive gotten better deals than I did at all the Austin stores combined over the last 2 years. But, they cant tell you what inventory they have like them - too much there to track it. I love there place.

I LOVE this store! Its a treasure hunt, you have to really look, but they have some pretty amazing stuff, and the prices are out of this world!! $4.99 or less for everything! They can also look up and order things they dont have from other locations, which is nice. The workers are always really helpful, they really want us to find what we are looking for. Ive learned that they DO NOT buy back at this location, cuz its an outlet (apparently the only one in Texas, which I did not know). They have signs up about wearing masks, but I saw quite a few people not wearing them (except for the workers, who all were), so I dont think they are enforcing it. Just a fun store!

Definition of encourage give support and advice to (someone) so that they will do or continue to do something. However on your doors it says Wear a mask. Masks required. Definition of required officially compulsory, or otherwise considered essential; indispensable. See how those two words are completely different? Why are you ok with Lying on your website?

Wife and kids tend to find a few good books each time they go. Even find homeschool curriculum from time to time at amazing (criminally low) prices.

Terrible store hours. 10-5? I guess Half Price Books will be another company that dies because online sales arrive before you can visit their store on your day off. They also force vaccinated customers to wear masks.

Good variety. But why do they close at 5pm? We were driving through Waco and only had about an hour to browse.

This place had a lot of great books with a fairly decent variety, from authors like Nicholas Sparks. You cant beat the prices they offer! The staff was very friendly as well, and more than willing to aid in your quest for the perfect book!The only flaw is that it is a bit unorganized, but I think it adds character! If you have time, give them a visit!

Im a little old school when it comes to reading. Feeling the weight in your hands, page after page you flip of a great book you cant put down and dont want to end. Your riveted by every word, you purposely read slower as your peripheral notices the end drawing near. The smell of the paper, the texture, the satisfaction of turning the last page of a great novel. If you enjoy reading actual books and dont like straining your eyes on digital electronic words, this is a great place. Found this place online, they have books and books and not just books. They have videos and music at discount prices. My son and I really enjoy the childrens selection and thats always a plus in my book.

Great prices but books in main area not alphabetized. Books by same author on many different shelves mixed in with other authors. Had to hunt too much for author I was looking for. Restrooms out of order. Not conducive for browsing if someone needs a restroom break. Cut my shopping off because I needed to find a public restroom.

This isnt orginized like a regular HPB, but I guess thats what an outlet is. There seems to be a lot of books, that are always coming or going. As this is the only HPB in the area, I will take it and be happy. There are two bathrooms and some light music playing in the background. If you have time to donate little digging, its well worth a visit.

Kind of felt like a clearance rack for All the Other Half Price Books in the area. Really disorganized and hard to find anything.

They do not stay true to their word. They say that they buy books up until you walk in and the they change it to all we take is donations. This is complete fraud.

Huge selection of fan favorite movies and books, every time I go in looking for a specific movie I almost always find it and at a great price to!

Just about all of these came from this store. We spend more time here than anywhere else. Their selection is unbeatable for a discount bookstore. They have a huge selection of homeschool and educational books. They even offer a 10% discount for teachers and homeschool teachers.

Super cheap, everything is nicely organized and the staff is friendly.

Awesome place! Everything is five dollars or less, chapter books of all genres. Kids section. Music section. Comic. A few other odds and ends. Spent 30 bucks and got a stack of books. Im definitely going back.

I always enjoy coming here to find great books for myself and my little ones. The prices are unbeatable unless you hunt at flea markets and good wills galore. The books they sell are in decent shape and some are brand spankin new, either way you are bound to find something to read for everyone in the family or just yourself!

If you have any books or printed materials or even music, etc. you dont want anymore or cant store anymore you can bring them there as donation. They are selling them and use the money they make for charity and donation of reading materials. Best thing Ive encountered! Super friendly. The people really enjoy books. They were friendly and helped us getting literal trunkloads of books inside the store. It was a great experience!!! Check on their website what they will take and even if you contact the organization by email you will receive a response in a timely manner.

Very sad to see this location close people were just starting to take an interest in books again the store was starting to gain popularity hopefully they can find a way to reopen this location sooner the better

Such wonderfully helpful staff! I was looking for a particular book,but they didnt have it on hand. Ended up ordering the title to be shipped to me. And then since I had time to kill browsed their awesome movie and show selections. Walked out with a handful of films that have been on my to-get list. Cant wait to go back for more!

Clean, organized and plenty of parking. Store was easy to navigate. Sections are clearly laid out. Fantastic DVD and Blue Ray selection. The staff, for the most part, was knowledgeable and friendly.

Theyve organized the place quite a bit. Its still a bit difficult to find any specific thing but plays out as a kind of adventure. I prefer to go when I just want to enjoy the smell of books and see what new books I can find and add to my collection.

I am a comic collector and will frequent this shop occassionally. Since its an outlet, they dont have a great selection of comics. Worse, the comics they do have are branded with a price sticker right on the comic which is a pain to remove without damaging to book. In most cases, Ill only buy from here if I just want reader copies. The staff is awesome which saves me from giving it fewer stars.

Every time I walk in, the store gets more and more organized. I have found some amazing books for awesome prices! So glad Half Price Books has come to Waco. If they do well as an outlet store, they will be able to expand into the regular store and buy back books from the public! I personally dont want to have to drive all the way to Dallas or Austin when I could just come here.

SO GLAD I have found this place! Wide selection of DVDs and books...prices appear fair. Space open and well lit.Able to order a DVD for meONLY negative, top shelf too high for me to read titles comfortably, need a small step ladder or stool. (Perhaps not there d/t safety issue...someone fall off of or over.)

They have loads of options available. Was able to get an abundance of books for a reasonable price. Definitely coming back here soon.

This store is amazing! I went there recently and got 20% off on all of the books I got. I got three books for only $15! Amazing. They have all of the genres you desire and they even had a large variety of graphic novels, manga, and comics. I found that very convenient because I can never find any good stores that carry those three types. 5 star, go to Half Price now!

Helpful guy at the counter kind of directed me to the book I wanted...But ummm...Its half priced books, sure. Great. But there is no way for then to know of they have the book you want. I looked for an hour before concludong it was not there. But ..they get better each time I go.

If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to read a book in private, look no further! Their bathrooms are a perfect spot, clean and comfortable. Great place to drop a load. 👌

Friendly service but inventory issues

Not really the Great Deals youre expecting to see. What we did enjoy was the basketball hoop at the back of the store in the childrens section. That made it worthwhile.

Everything is $4.98 or less, but you have to dig a long time to find the hidden gems, yet it is fun and the staff are friendly. Keep in mind, it is not the same as the other Half Price stores. This is an outlet so it looks like it is full of things that didnt sell at the other stores.

Large selection of used books. Not always cataloged well.

If you can find something you want, youll get it at a great price, but finding anything the way its set up is the trick. Sort of like book shopping at the Goodwill.

Looks like a good used bookstore. The organization could use work (other than subject matter, books seemed to be haphazardly placed). If youre a college student, check here for some of your textbooks. I know I saw at least one current textbook for Baylor (Nortons Anthology which you use for British Literature) and a few out-of-date textbooks, which, depending on the subject, wont affect much of anything. They have a bigger selection there than most of the libraries in the area.

I cannot get enough of Half Price Books. HPB are some of my favorite book stores in the world. While this store is an outlet and not standard HPB, meaning it is filled items other stores cannot sell, all the items are $4.99 or less. No matter what price is on the item you never have to pay more than $4.99. I cannot leave here without at least taking home a few more books or movies. If you love to read, if you do not want to spend a lot of money, and you like relaxing friendly shopping experiences then visit Half Price Books Outlet.

I was taken aback to realize this location does not have a coffee shop so Reluctantly went to Barnes and Nobles instead. Please consider sourcing a small local run coffee shop to compete with Barnes and Nobles and Starbucks. I think youd be surprised at how many people would gladly support those short efforts.

Needs more organizing, more sections, many books were in the wrong section and not alphabetical. A large number of books are in boxes on tables or under tables so you would have to dig. They really need bookcases which would maximize their space and make it easier to shop. The selection is ok. Hopefully they will improve with time.

Store has a decent selection of various media, mainly books, but also CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, vinyls, and an assortment of reading/writing related goods. Staff is friendly and always ready to help you. If you come here looking for something in particular you might not find it, but you will find something. Definitely worth a visit.

Finally a store that fills some holes Hastings left. This is predominantly a used item store, but the items they have are in good condition and well priced. They have books, movies, CDs, vinyl records, and games. The staff was friendly and did a great job building the shelving in the place. Will be going back again.

My wife and I love HPB, and frequent multiple stores in the Austin and Dallas areas. We stopped by this one for the first time while passing through and were unimpressed. Not really much different than your typical HPB other than its a bit shabbier. Prices were not terrible, but did not reflect much if any savings over any other HPB. Not sure why its called an outlet.

This store is wonderful is just that nothing is in order so if youre looking for a special book you may and may not be able to find it because there is no organization to the store they just put them on the shelf.

Not a good selection. This is where the unwanted books go. For a good reason. Not to say you couldnt find something you might like. It was advertised as everything is $4.99. So its cheap.

Door says they open at 11 on Sunday, but online says noon. Since it’s 11:15 and the doors are locked, guessing it’s officially noon. Books are organized by general subject but not by author, so good luck finding something specific easily.

To be honest, I expected better prices on most items. This is basically a large, open-space HPB, with most books looking like remainders from their other stores. There is, however, a much larger clearance area, with most books in the $2-$4 range.OTOH, we did spend close to $100 there!
