Great selection of rotating beers crafted by the brewers. I don’t even like beer that much and I became a loyalist… it’s that good.

Showed up late just before closing, great hospitality from MJ. Arriving late he still took time to explain and make recommendations. The beer flight of 5 beers, chose xx Mary, bear heart, pineapple express, guavalry, gingers island - all exceptional and so surprised I liked all of them. Every single brewery Ive been to Ive never liked ALL Ive tried and only cost 10 bucks. This place is awesome well deserved 5 stars.

Located in a very weird part of town and in a strip mall. But once you came in the place is very different, it’s very cool looking. The beers were just okay. I didn’t find one that I particularly like. It wasn’t bad either just not something that I would come back for when there’s a ton of breweries near by. I must say though, I met some of the nicest people here. And they allow dogs!

Great beer and hard seltzer! Started coming here to fill our CO2 canister for our fish tank, but we like to sit and enjoy a beer while were there.

Down the hatch with Bear Roots Brewing Co. Their new Strawberry brew tastes and smells super duper good. Very chill, very laid back. This place is cool. Pool, chess, board games, and most importantly great beer. I highly recommend it, check it out.👌👌👌👌

This is a brewery that is making strides! Theyre trying new things and doing the main things so well. IPAs are killer, the Pale Ales are complex and the Stouts will blow your mind! If youre in the area, this place is worth the stop. They have an amazing back patio with TVs and great ambiance. They even are drawing a local crowd that comes to hang out every night. Come before they blow up and be one of firsts to check them out.

Just a fantastic little brewery and brew shop. Everyone is super nice and the taps are all fantastic.

Really good beer. Every one we sampled was expertly crafted and well balanced. Helpful beer tenders and plenty of comfortable seating too.

Had a hazy and a regular IPA. Both were outstanding. Excellent flavor with fantastic abv.

Good quality small batches really stand out against other breweries. My favorite is the Nitro Bear Cookie. Great locals place to hang out at.

The Beer is quite good. Vista is saturated with beer talents. This is in the top 5 easily. Enjoy!

What a great little local brewery! They are what small brewerys are supposed to be, friendly and accessible, with the finest brews to please the most discerning palate... when you go, you have to try the BLACK IPA... wait, a dark IPA? say what? But its good! crisp, clean dont let the color throw you! Friendly, free advice for beginner home brewers!

Good beers and great knowledgeable service from a first class Beertender. Easy drinking session-able brews. Pleasant open space. Plenty of parking. Great representation of the Independent Craft Beer industry.

Enjoyed my time at this brewery. Bathroom was clean and they had a good selection of beers. Some where out but they also had a nice deal where if you bought a glass they filled it with beer. If you home brew this place is extra great they even mill the malt for you!

This place was pretty cool and the owner was very knowledgeable and courteous with regards to home brewing. I originally stepped in to try out some beer but the tasting room isnt quite open yet (hopefully soon). I have tried a couple of home brews myself but havent done it a whole lot since you typically have to go to multiple locations to pick up the stuff you need to brew. This place was awesome. It has pretty much everything you need to brew at home and the owner was very helpful with answering my questions about my home brew setup. Ill be back again for sure once the tasting room opens up in the next month or so.

Stopped in last weekend to check on this new location. Well stocked home brew shop with brewery in the works (November). Knowledgeable staff and they offer a cool feature where you can preorder you grain bill and have it ready for pick up or delivery. Prices are competitive and CO2 filling is convenient.

Place is laid-back. Good beer. Good atmosphere, and great board games (including a chess designated table). Come here weekly and servers are friendly.

Delicious selection of IPA & Pale ale. The nitro stout they have is also really good. Wish they had sours! Nice aroma, theres bar and table seats, a pool table, a lot of brewing supplies too, Ill definitely be back.

Good beer...nice range of styles...friendly service....pool table.....little warm when I visited tho....could use some ac. UPDATE... Visited today and arrived at 1 (their advertised opening time ). All chairs still up on tables and no server in site . Employee came outside on the phkne and back in, totally ignored me. Waited till 1:10 and left. Horrible business ethics/practice. Wont be back.

Bear Roots is one of my favorite breweries. The beer is always tasty and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Live music on Friday was great too.

What an amazing spot!! We stopped by on a visit to San Diego and we were very impressed. The staff and atmosphere was really cool and it has inspired us to home brew! I wish they had a spot in Phoenix! A true gem!!

Just voted Best Local Craft Beer in San Diego. And its absolutely true. My favorite beer in the world is their Bite the Bulleit. The staff is super friendly and the beer is top notch.

This brewery has a great atmosphere and amazing beers on tap. The owner and staff have been extremely helpful in explaining the process and favors of there beer. What a welcome addition to our neighborhood.

Its cool to check out brewing companies just starting out. One day when theyre a lot bigger, youll say, man, I remember taking a tour of their one barrel system... These guys have great beer and plenty of homebrewing equipment which is great for me because I like both. Check em out.

Not only do they brew amazing beer, but the owner inspected and fixed my kegerator regulator when I discovered I had a leak at home. They take all the time necessary to help people... and did I mention their beers are great!

Devon is the sole reason I come to Bear roots over Latitude 33, booze brothers and all the others keep it up dev and give that man a raise!

Place is awesome and the staff is super helpful. I went there for some malted barley to feed to my plants and they hook it.

Great neighborhood brewery and homebrew shop. It is a friendly and casual atmosphere with a staff who knows the beer. A nice place to stop for a pint or a flight.The beers were good all around. I especially liked the Cascadian IPA. The Bear Heart Scotch ale is a good example of a style that I wish we saw more of. They have a diverse range of IPAs to go with the current trend, but enough other styles that there is something for all craft beer fans.My only complaint is that they call their traditional English Pale Ale Edinburgh. You either get that, or you dont.They have a lot of the marks of a community-engaged brewery for those who like to see that.A very nice independent brewery.

So I have been toying around with the idea of starting a home brew since all my friends and co workers have been doing it for awhile now and today I took the leap! I found Bear Roots Brewing was close to where I was at so I decided to give it shot. I walked in and was instantly welcomed by the staff, I was kind of over whelmed looking around at all the inventory they have and felt a little over my head at first because I had no idea what to get or how much or really anything at all that pertains to starting a home brew...That feeling didnt last long, as the staff helped me all the way through the whole process from start to finish. They hooked me up! I almost feel like I could give some one a lesson or two after everything I learned. I am so happy I found this place and will definitely be returning and bringing my friends so they can capitalize on this awesome hidden gem in Vista like I have. I also saw that they will not only be selling home brew supplies but will also be serving beer they them selves have brewed! I cant wait to come in a drink some beer and pick up some things for my next brew batch. One stop is all it took and im hooked! Check this place out for sure.

Came here tonight and was completely blown away with the shop! Ive been brewing for a few years and never had the experience like I did tonight. Turns out they are trying to get a brew on premiese set up so people can brew there! along with a tasting room! Super stoked for this place. I got to met the owner and Nick, very nice people and hooked me up with. 50lb sack of marris otter at a great price.
