Berea Automotive deserves their five-star rating. This was our experience:My husband and I were on vacation when our car broke down on Labor Day. While driving north-bound on the 99, our car no longer had power when pressing the accelerator. Thankfully, we were able to exit the highway and found a shell gas station just to the right of the exit. After calling AAA, they sent out a tow truck. I asked if they could recommend a mechanic where we could have it towed since we were unfamiliar with the area. They recommended Berea Automotive. We arrived at Berea shortly before they were closing. Juan was there to help us. Our car would have to stay in their shop for the night, so we needed a hotel. I was ready to call Uber or Lift to pick us up, but Juan offered to drive us to our hotel. He was so kind that he attempted to turn down the tip my husband tried to give him when we arrived at the hotel. My husband was not going to take no for an answer. After renting a car, we went back to Berea in the morning. Juan said they checked the car and that the code was showing that it was the fuel pump. Since it was under warranty, Juan told us we would need to take the car to a dealer. He also said that the car started but he highly recommended we did not try to drive it because it would be too dangerous. We thought we had loaded up all our belongings from the car and put them in our rental car, but later discovered we were missing a bag we had brought with us. We had no phone availability where we were vacationing. We hoped that we had left the bag at home; but when we arrived home, it was not there.We called the hotels we stayed at to see if they had found it but they did not. Then I called Juan at Berea. He had our bag that I had left in his car when he dropped us off at the hotel. He said he would mail it to us. I thanked him so much for his generous help. His response was, I always treat people the way I would want them to treat my wife. He just took the Golden Rule to a whole new level. That said to me that Juan loves his wife very much. Barea Automotive went above and beyond for me! They’re diagnostic was the most thorough I’ve ever seen and they got my truck back up in running the next day. I won’t be taking my vehicles anywhere else.

They fit me in when busy and other shops would not. Excellent communication both during the repair and they followed up after to see how my car was doing and offered advice on some other repairs my car needed.

I originally went to Berea because it was the only shop in the area advertising for hybrid repair. I brought my 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid and they were able to repair some items I was concerned about with the hybrid system and they didnt stick it to me on the diagnostic like the dealership had without fixing the issue. They also worked on my daughters 2002 Subaru Forrester exhaust system. Both cars AC were also going out and now they blow colder air than I ever remember. Through all the multiple needed repairs they did their best to keep costs down and communicated the issues thoroughly before beginning the work. Thank you Juan and Ozzy!

I started here because I was having car troubles and have stuck around for regular maintenance. The crew here is very helpful. They dont try to trick you into a million extra things you dont need and if they dont provide a service, they know trustworthy shops nearby that can help.

I just had them diagnose my cars fuse box. They restored it and they took it upon themselves to add power steering fluid, which it also really needed. Plus these guys are real pros and they play by the book. Will come back when more concerning issues arise.

I met Ozzie about 5 years ago by chance. Since then I have brought all my vehicles to him. They range from some really old cars my kids drive to my wifes late model Tahoe to my newer BMW. Its rare these days to find a mechanic who tells you the truth and keeps you informed throughout. Hes actually gotten mad at the cost of parts from the dealers and spent his own time looking elsewhere for a better deal. Hes also told me that I dont need a costly repair other shops told me I did, he fixed it for 10% of the cost. He will text you or call with updates and always shows you the work he did and the parts replaced. I trust Oz 100% and recommend him to anyone who I know that needs help. The most fair, honest and cool shop in the Valley.
