My friend and I went here on our beach trip recently and got matching tattoos. Jennifer is just wonderful!!! Going back in January to get another one from her. Would highly recommend this place, everyone was so friendly and they were able to get us in at last minute. Price was very reasonable.

Just Rob just did my tattoo and it’s amazing. The experience was excellent the shop was clean and very appealing. The details Rob provided was incredible, and not just in my tattoo. My tattoo had a theme and when Rob brought me back to his station he even had music related to the art playing.Rob was great, the shop was great, all the employees were great. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will be back.

This tattoo was done one month ago and still hasn’t healed. I’ve gone to two other artist to get opinions. Since I’m in my 60s, the skin gets thinner. This artist went too deep and I won’t be able to get it fixed for at least another 4-6 weeks, hopefully. I’m seeking another artist. Do not let Zack do any tattoos unless you want cartoon characters.

Such a nice place! I only met Zach and JB but they were so friendly and calming. I got my nose pierced and it was super quick and easy. 10/10 recommend!

This is a great shop! All of the artists there are very professional and extremely skilled at their craft! I have been a client of Rob for several years now and am in the process of getting a traditional Japanese sleeve and it looks amazing so far! All of the artists are well versed and talented at many different styles of tattooing. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone from the first timer to the seasoned veteran!

Felt like what I wanted done was not worth their time or services. I made an appointment on line that included the tattoo and where I wanted the tattoo. Arrived for the appointment only to be told by (no clue his name) the artist that what I wanted could not nor would not fit or look right where I wanted it. I specifically made the appointment on January 9 as it was the anniversary of my husbands passing. Fast forward to January 15 and a local Richmond studio. I got the tattoo I wanted and where I wanted it with no issues. They made me feel welcome and there was absolutely no issue with what I wanted done and where. After the experience I had at Ocean Mystique I would not recommend them to anyone.

I have been tattooed and pierced here multiple times. The staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful, and help bring my ideas to life in a way that I know will look good for years to come.Im in the process of getting memorial piece done by Jen, who has done the most fantastic job at listening to what I want and making my dream into a beautiful, cohesive piece of body art. I truly cant recommend this shop enough.

I went into Ocean Mystique for the first time a few weeks ago, for a couple of piercings. JB did my piercings, and was so kind and friendly - the piercings are healing amazingly well. I went back a few weeks later to get a backing put back on a piercing, and while I was there, I mentioned wanting to get one of my tattoos touched up - a piece from another shop, and I wasnt satisfied with the line work. Eric B worked me into his schedule the very next day. When I went in for the appointment less than 24 hours later, he had researched tattoos similar to mine, and brought ideas for improving the design and hiding some of the original line work. I was so impressed with the kindness of the staff at Ocean Mystique, and am so happy with my tattoo and piercings!

I had called around and chose this location because of the courteous and friendly phone conversation with Zach. I dont live in this area, but a return vacation to the Beach will also involve a stop in this amazingly wonderful place!

Ive been shopping around for this tattoo for awhile and this was the first shop I came across that I felt like I was an appreciated customer. Im incredibly happy with how it turned out and cant wait to come see Jenn for the other side of my chest!

The piercers were some of the nicest people Ive ever met and the receptionist/front of house was friendly and helpful as well, but I had a horrible experience with my piercings. I had a jewelry change to my second lobe piercings and got a third lobe piercing on each ear. They both felt fine at first but after a day or two I knew something was wrong. I continued to clean them thoroughly and make sure I was not sleeping on them either. My left ear was eventually in so much pain that I could not bear it, so after waiting for a week or so to see if the problem resolved itself, I went to a doctor. The doctor informed me that I had a staph infection on my ear. My piercings are doing fine now after being on antibiotics, but the fact that I got a staph infection from this shop is horrifying to me.

Jen just did my second tattoo (first one also done here!!) All of the staff is super friendly. Jen was very helpful, super easy to hang out with and extremely talented!! Very reasonably priced. I will never go anywhere else for my tattoos! I cant wait to go back in two weeks and get this one finished up!

I went in to get my nose pierced and I was very happy with the services. When my boyfriend and I walked in, a nice lady with blue in her hair was on the phone so I understood she was busy. But not to long after that a very nice man came out and asked what he can do to help. I told him I wanted my nose pierced and he got me set up quickly. The piercing room was clean and he was very nice. I liked that he had a conversation with me first before he stuck a needle in my nose. The piercing was quick and pretty painless. Im happy I choose this place. Good piercing for a good price!

Eric b has been tattooing me for years now, and he’s literally the dopest dude ever 💀He listens to every new wild idea I have and does his absolute best to bring all of my tattoo dreams to life. He is realistic and honest. He isn’t going to let you leave with some great value quality tattoo, and it shows. He cares a lot about each tattoo that he produces. Not only is he awesome with a tattoo machine, he’s easy to talk to and pretty funny which makes long hours fly by. 666/10 highly recommend 🤘🏻

She is very easy to talk to and makes sure you are comfortable with everything going on. I would recommend her to everyone. I will be going to her for all of my future tattoos as well.

Today I walked in to Ocean Mystique for quotes on ideas that I had. The girl behind the counter was funny, informative, and very up front with every answer she gave me. She helped design a simple tattoo for me. Then she introduced me to Jenn - and she was great! I was super scared because getting a tattoo was something I had never done before. She did not make me feel pressured into it. She made me feel comfortable. She helped me relax, then she did an amazing job!! I definitely will be back to her for my next one :) Thanks Jenn!

For my 70th Birthday I got my first tattoo! I felt so comfortable with Eric during my consultation that I was not even nervous at all during the procedure. He explained everything and my Pegasus is absolutely gorgeous - everyone whose seen it agrees! I have an idea for my next one and hope Eric is available to draw this one. I recently got a tattoo here and it was the best tattoo experience I have had! I am only visiting Virginia for a few months and if I happen to come by Virginia again I will definitely get another tattoo. Eric B is a amazing artist! All the staff I met were very nice and the shop is one of the cleanest I have been too!

Have gotten two piercings at this location so far and both were very positive experiences. Staff made sure I was comfortable and informed, and took good care of me while I was there. Theyre invested in the well being of their clients, and it shows. Have and would recommend them to others.Edit: Have since gotten a THIRD piercing here - A daith that was placed perfectly and is healing well about a week old! It was, as before, a very easy process.

The initial reason I came to the shop was because Ghost Ship didnt want my business because I had my toddler with me. They had a sign on the front door that said children were not allowed in the shop for any reason. I only wanted a consultation and to set up an appointment. Oh well. I took my business around the corner and couldnt have been more pleased. The initial contact with the staff was great. They gave me exactly what I was looking for. The owner was really nice and the artist I worked with (Casey) was very talented and friendly. I will be returning here for all my future tattoos.

We were on our way out of town, heading home from vacation. Rob was able to fit two of us in without appointments. Ive had work before but it was my girlfriends first time. They were really good about explaining what to expect. The work was accurate and well done. The prices were reasonable and the artist and receptionist were friendly. They even invited us to bring our dog in so they could meet him. They provided great service at a great price, I would definitely recommend them.

I got my first tattoo here done by Matt. I had an awesome experience. I was so nervous about my first tattoo and they made me feel really good about my decision for such a large one on my forearm as my first. They never discouraged my choice like the other parlors in town. Good price too. I am very pleased with my tattoo and I get compliments all the time! JD and all of the other staff at Ocean Mystique are amazing, and very professional. I took my daughter in today to get her earnings put back in after having to take them out for an x-ray, and JD did an amazing job. He treated her as if she was his own daughter. The sales rep. I did not get her name but she was also amazing. I know I asked 1000 questions, but she knew her stuff. I was more than happy with my experience and the services the staff offered.

I came in this week wanting a last minute, simple tattoo. The staff was so helpful, they even drew up the design for me. I didnt like the design after thinking about it for a few mins and the artist redrew it for me! I love my new design and how friendly the staff was.

I went there last Monday and got my first tattoo ever. My artist was very calming and easy to talk to. The tattoo turned out great and he was very clear in the post-care instructions. This is definitely the place to go.

Went here 20 minutes before closing time to get a piercing removed after it had became problematic and irritating the guy at the counter(I didnt get his name but he had a red facial tattoo) was so nice and accommodating! I was afraid since it was so close to closing I would get rude service but he was very informative and took my piercing out for free!!! He explained everything he was doing and was very conscious to make it as pain free as possible!! Im definitely recommending this place to all my friends and I will be back for my next piercing!

Shout out to the piercer, JB, for exceptional service from the moment my sister & I stepped in the door. He helped with a tricky removal of her tongue ring that was not pierced at this location & provided detailed after care while kindly inviting us to come back if there is ever any other complications. The shop on VB BLVD is large inside, beautiful, & clean. I 100% recommended coming here if you have any piercing issues, questions, or to get pierced here by JB, a pro-piercer. I will take more time to write reviews for good people like him because they need to be known!

Ive gotten pierced here multiple times and I love the piercers but my visit today has made me never ever want to go back again . I got my nose pierced here on New Years Day and was happy with the time the guy took to talk to me and explain everything (hes skinny and has a good amount of piercings himself) I dont know his name so that doesnt help much, anyways I came back today and he was the guy who greeted me when I asked for a nose hoop I knew what I wanted a closed hoop no ball, -the desk assistant or whatever you call her had no idea even after me telling her what I wanted she kept giving me (rings with a ball) I finally picked a ring, it was like a hinged segment ring . I knew it was gonna be hard to put in so the chick volunteered the piercer to put it in for me . I agreed and the whole process was horrible.. he couldnt put the hoop in and had to take a taper to push through my nose (I started bleeding) then he tried again to put the hoop in, more bleeding after using tons of tools, a guide to push the hoop through with and a few glove changes thank god the hoop was in . He had to stretch the ring open .Then the hard part -putting the captive part of the hoop in. Now I have a hoop in my bleeding once healed nose getting pulled I kept saying that hurts your pulling on the ring .. I know and understand its hard to do thats why I wanted help but if you cant put the hoop in yourself without making me feel even worse than getting it pierced for the first time then honestly I would have rather went home and done it myslef . It hurt, still does and now guess what I have a new healing process to go through . Mind you Im pregnant and let him know that .. its well known that during pregnancy you shouldnt get piercings due to risk of infection now I have to be cautious of my (basically new ) piercing thanks guys, a cleansing solution would have been nice before and after too . I will be keeping close attention to the piercing and have my 15.00 receipt with the date and location just in case .. ..and when he was done he simply bagged my old piercing and left it in the counter . No have a good day nothing.. he knew I was upset ...not so good customer service

I got a cheap tattoo from someone in their home and I really didnt like it. I went to Oceans Mystique to see if they could clean it, cover it up, or just add to it to make it look nicer. I was really kind of shocked by how little they cared about me and my predicament. The tattoo artist I talked to basically told me he didnt want to waste his time or ruin his name in case my tattoo didnt turn out good. Even the front desk girl acted like she didnt really want to be talking to me. They may do good work, but they are stuck up a-holes that arent deserving of your business.I decided to go elsewhere (Ancient Art) and I was surprised by how much they cared about helping me. They took me back immediately and started going over options and how to fix my crap tattoo. The artist there took a wax covering of my tattoo, drew around it and made a beautiful cover up piece. When you care about your customers, it shows in your work. Oceans Mystique does not care about you or its customers. You are literally better off going to ANY other tattoo parlor.

I went to Ocean Mystique today to get my first tattoo. I was really nervous, but the atmosphere in the shop was very calming. All the artists have a great sense of humor, and made me feel at ease. After discussing what I wanted (I brought in photos), Matthew, my artist, made a few suggestions to improve on my ideas. I liked his suggestions and after negotiating a price, we went to the back to get my ink done. The shop was very clean and they followed standard safety practices. After Matt finished, I looked at my tattoo in the mirror and it was better than I had imagined it. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who needs a good artist.

Loved both experiences, came to get my nose pierced back in December by Stewart he is the best... hole closed up came back like a week or so ago and Stewart did my piercing again... I will be coming back to get a tattoo also

It was my 1st tattoo ever!!I was a bit nervous, but was made to feel comfortable right away. I wanted a flower tattooed on my wrist. I got just that, and I love it!!! I have had many compliments on my tattoo!!!Starting to think about another :-) !!

I stopped in for a quick piercing tonight and Stewart was great! He reassured me that he was going to try his best to be as quick and painless as possible and he definitely was! Staff was very friendly and will for sure be back!

I went in to get my nose pierced about 2 weeks ago. I was told by the front desk guy that there were people in front of me, so I asked if I could just sign the stuff and come back the next day, after he told me it wasnt that long of a wait, I decided to just do it then. After over an hour wait (not that long, HA!), a pleasant piercer came out. Not only did I leave with a crooked hoop (not even sure how you do that), but he put in a teeny ring. Once the minor swelling went down, I now have a ripped nostril from where the ring wasnt big enough to handle ANY swelling.

After going to two other shops this weekend, trying to get new tops for my back dermal piercings that I lost, I was finally saved and Ocean Mystique got me all fixed up! The other two shops I went to weren’t able to help me at all (Again, all I needed was 2 14 gauge dermal tops).... I finally went to Ocean Mystique, and was helped right away by JB. He helped me pick out the right size (gauge) (for muchhh better pricing than the other 2 places I attempted that day) and put them on for me .... I’ve had these dermal piercings for probably about 8+ years now, and the tops always come off periodically, so needless to say I’ve had them replaced SEVERALLL times... But I have NEVER had anyone put them on so effortlessly!! Like I legitimately didn’t even know he put them on when he said “alright, you’re all done”! I didn’t feel it at all! Mind blown! Lol. I had to double check they were actually there because I’ve never had them put on so easily... But sure enough, they’re still on tightly!! JB, you are truly amazing at what you do and I will 100% be a return customer! Thank you!

Was told 35 and then charged 40 by person actually doing it... I dont know if they just took their own tip or what other than that good except they accidentally started to poke the wrong spot then took it out and moved it and did it again ouch lol love it in the end and the piercer was very quick and nice

Brendan Tierney is an absolute beast with the ink, he took a picture of JAWS and its like he put the movie poster on my arm except with ink, this guy is amazing, along with the other artist that work here, this is a nice, clean, place and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality work, would have given it 6 stars if possible! At first glance, the shop looked clean and organized. After about 15-20 minutes, none of the artists/employees even acknowledged my existance. Oh well? I wanted a full sleeve, and I had all of my photos/ideas ready to download from my external Harddrive. The piece that I wanted was most likely a $1,000 to $1500 piece.

I purchased a gift card from here a few days before Christmas for my daughter who wanted a industrial peircing. While buying the gift card I had a conversation with the girl telling her I wasnt to fond of the peircing because my daughter was 13 but being she had really good grades it was gonna be a surprise Christmas gift. So today we go to get the peircing and they tell me u have to be 15. So I asked why wasnt I told that while I was buying the gift card. I was told they dont answer questions that werent asked. So I tried to explain how I had a whole conversation with the girl I bought the gift card from. I was rudely cut off by some guy that stated normally customers are always right but I gotta stand behind my employee. I then asked if I could have my money back being that I was never told the age was 15 when buying the gift certificate. I was told no! They were complete ***holes about the whole situation. Further more with his response he is a liar!! No one said anything about a birthday. Nor was he there at the time of purchase and no one bullied anybody.. SMH.. Guess u have to lie to make yourself look good. LMAO..

After striking out at four other piercing joints I ended up at Ocean Mystique and JB provided me with great customer service, answered my questions, and helped me find the exact septum ring I was looking for. I now drive out of my way to come here instead of going somewhere closer.

***Update*** This is totally my fault and meant to rate this for the Norfolk gallery. Have not been to this location.*** Went here a little while ago with my friend to get his hands done and he talked me into getting something myself. so I wanted a small heart on my wrist. The guy behind the counter said that it would be really fast and it would only be about $40 because it was so small (the size of a quarter). The artist who took me back had a really bad attitude like I was ruining her day and that everything was just an inconvenience to her. After only about 10 mins it was done. (and I love it) But when she rang me out she charged $75 because shes had a very busy day. And after talking to another artist or manager or whoever, they said that they couldnt do anything about the price because thats the artists choice. Never going back.

Its where my father gets all of his ink and where I got my first. I highly recommend checking them out.

Very unhappy!!! The counter help was friendly enough and designed the tattoo I wanted by coping and pasting images from the internet. The artists, too busy being pretentious, WAY overestimated how long it would take the create by tracing lines and, therefore, WAY overcharged. Tattoo artists make terrible business people. Horrible service and they charge way too much for it. Im not alone, read the other reviews here and elsewhere. There are plenty of other places to get tattoos in Virginia Beach, go to any of them over this place.

I needed to teach the junkie girl that tattoos there how to tattoo and place stencils myself. Felt pretty ripped off for the sub-par, blown out scratcher quality I got from her... if you can call it quality. The shop smelled bad and the staff looked like child molesters that smoked trucker meth for a living. Do not reccomend ever.
