This is one of my wifes favorite places. Her sewing is her main hobby and therapy. Shes always enjoys shopping here. This is her happy place. 😊

This was my first visit to Joanns Fabrics. The line moved reasonably fast to get in, but only 25 people are allowed in at any time. A staff person greeted each customer at the door and answered all my questions to get me where the fabric I wanted was located. The staff was kind, friendly, helpful and polite. Thank you Jess, Kiara, and others for knowing your stock and store! I even had coupons that reduced my total along with the sale resulting in a savings of over $150!

So this is in Virginia Beach… we are visiting from Waynesboro VA. We need a Joann Fabrics. It was wonderful but I will say Halloween decor is going fast.

Didnt have a great selection other than fabric (fabric was great) and pricier than other stores on certain items.

The store was nice and clean, very big with nice selection. My only issue was the fabrics cutting table ladys rudeness. I think her name was Suzanne? Besides being incredibly slow moving, despite a line of waiting customers. When ot was finally my turn, she cut my faric half an inch at a time following a line printed on the flannel which shirted me on my yardage. Then in the middle of her cutting my order, she completely stopped and help a coworker wait on someone else! Even though a manager had been called to help that coworker!! When she finally got back to my order, i swear she was cutting my fabris a half inch at a time!! It took waay too long! The whole experience is enough for me to never come back to this particular store again. Its a shame cause i enjoyed everything else at the store!

I had to make an exchange and the manager was super nice and helpful!! She helped me pick out a sewing machine that was more suited to what I was looking for and was very knowledgeable and kind.

The staff is nice and helpful. Theres always a variety of fabrics in each category. Also, there are many different craft items from which to choose.

Social distancing at this store is a challenge particularly at the cutting tab and at check out. Eveyone Did have masks on!!!!🙂 The poor lady worikng the register up front was pulled in all kinda of directions.. check out... crowd controll... curbside pickup.... it took a very long time to get out vs getting into the store.

I had called to see about scrap pieces of fabric because I was making a gift for my friends baby shower that was the next day.... so I was in a bit of a hurry... lol! The lady I spoke with was very helpful, and knowledgeable. I told her what I needed and she helped me find it. So grateful for her help.

Went with a friend who is black and the cashier ignored her and started ringing the next person up. This is typical of this part of VA. All POC go elsewere.

Lots of fabric. Took one of my kids there for fabric for a cosplay.

I like this fabric store because they offer coupons. This location has the cutting table at the register, but offers priority to those without fabric in their express lane. I had an issue with that as all customers are waiting in the same line. I spoke to the manager who was friendly and offered me a 40% off coupon for my wait. I also received a 50% off coupon for next time.

Go to Chesapeake. This was my favorite store until I tried to get some fabric and the employees were more worried about talking and fixing the number machine then cutting the fabric they had already started.

Great variety of products, but not the best customer service.

Great store, just low stock on the few items I was in search for, like thick yarn, (next to no merchandise available) and variety of craft t-shirts/ sweatshirts. There were quite a few empty shelves at this store. Will try again before I head back to Missouri.

Enjoy buying on line in the app and picking up at the store, or curbside, if I am not going in to look at materials.

My wife loves it here, and there are often good deals. There are interesting fabrics, and even glow in the dark paint! Need anything fabric related for sewing, this is a good place. I only wish they also had leather. Be careful, it is easy to over spend here!

As a photographer Im always looking for nice frames. I just happened to stop by Joann this morning and found three nice frames at 60% off saving me $47.50.

Makenna was super friendly, and her customer service was outstanding!! This is my favorite Jo Ann to shop at it’s always stocked with what I’m looking for and more. Staff is always super friendly and helpful

Love this store! The shelves are still a little less than normal. But the inventory is coming back. I love the friendly staff and all the inspiration to create!

This store has a huge selection of arts and crafts, sewing stuff, and home decor. Great selection of beads and beading supplies. Drawbacks: narrow aisles (barely hold 2-3 people) and a little bit on the pricey side (this weeks sale helped a little bit).

The staff here is always super helpful. Right now, the cotton fabric section is pretty cleaned out so its best to go into the store to see what they have. Theyve relaxed their restrictions on the number of people allowed in at one time but you still need to wear a mask. Please be patient and kind to the staff!

The employees at the Fabric department were nice and helpful. The store in general has alot of great quality products.

Confusing prices and not a huge selection of drawing supplies available. Staff friendly and helpful.

Through the pandemic this place was staffed and the inventory was plentiful enough. The staff were Pleasant, courteous and professional. Thank goodness there were available and materials could be purchased for face masks to be made as we all were trying to make them for the safety and health of our friends, co-workers and loved ones.

Wow! They have a lot of stuff! Today was the first time that I visited their current location. It is much larger than their last location, and they are using the whole space.

Was here yesterday around 1pm. The customers were advised the store was closing and we needed to leave. No explanation. My mind wonded in all directions wondering what was the issue... Security?? Covid??

I love Joanns! Large inventory, variety to select from. There are a couple of associates who will go beyond expectation to provide excellent customer service.

I love the Virginia Beach location. The Chesapeake one not so much. The VB location is bigger and has more product. The people who work there actually act like they like working at Joann. And they are not rude like some workers at the Chesapeake location. The Hampton store could use a little reorganization of its products. One thing that drives me crazy about Joann is that the stores do not carry the same items especially sale items. No I do not want to spend a bunch of time driving between 3 stores to get what I need. # time and gas are money

Good selection of crafting materials and childrens toys. Disappointing clearance section. Seemed like the prices even for clearance items were quite high comparable to other similar stores.

This is a good store, but they don’t care about anyone. They have a lot of people standing outside in 40- degree weather with the wind blowing, while people are getting sick. I will not be supporting this company anymore. They don’t care about people’s health. If Walmart and food lion and other stores as big as these store are letting more than 10 people in they should too. I can’t feel my fingers typing this. It’s smaller known fabric stores with the same things. It’s not worth it. I can share the locations if anyone needs it.

This store has everything if you are a person that loves to do crafts and sew. They sell a full line of sewing machines and accessories. They also have a nice variety of fabrics and patterns. Sewing is becoming a lost art with very few fabric stores so it is nice to see that you can still purchase sewing supplies in this modern era.

Had the fabric we were looking for in the quantity we needed. Public health guidelines strictly adhered to. Young lady at cutting table and at checkout were very friendly and helpful. Checkout lady pointed out some savings we had missed and saved us about a third of what it could have cost us. Yah!

This location is always clean and organized. You can tell the employees care about the appearance of the store. The inventory is a little lacking though. I wish they had more variety. Also, I didnt know about a military discount until after I spent $400, so if youre military be sure to use the discount! I will still be going back though!

Found the vinyl I needed. I reliably get whatever cloth I need every time.

This is a nice store. The employee was nice, but they seem a little understaffed. There was only one employee, the line was long, and the phone was ringing off the hook. I feel like they need two people working for these situations.

Linda in fabrics was incredibly helpful. She helped me look for the best deal on elastic. She was busy when I asked for her help and she was very friendly about stopping what she was doing and started looking through the stock she hadnt put out yet to see if what I was looking for was among the 3 baskets of stuff she was about to put out. She even told me about the app. and it saved me 40%...thank n you Linda! You made my day.

I now know why this location gets poor reviews. If you’re able to make your purchase elsewhere I would recommend doing so.Manager explained “we have a lot of new people for holidays” - then you should train them so you don’t waste a customers time.

We were there on a Sunday, it was busy. We needed help, and couldnt find anyone to help us. When we did find someone, she said she couldnt help us because she had to get off the clock. I know business are short handed and dont have much hours to give their employees hours, but I thought the customer comes first. We found a few items then left.

I love the setup of this store better than the one in Chesapeake. The selection is better for crafts and home decorating. Both locations are lacking in the fabrics area.Update: Why do you hire people that cant help a customer. Customers are sewers and appear to be more knowledgeable than the employees. Employees can never tell you how to find anything in the store. Once I asked for wool and you would have thought I was speaking another language. Then today I asked for rib knitting with the same deer in the headlights look on the employees face!

They are starting to get more fabric in. The associates are very helpful and friendly.

A great store with all you need for any craft or hobby but almost too big and overwhelming.

Good store but out of common every day items., seems to be standard.

Wish they sold more and nicer fabrics for garments. Their selection is mostly for quilters and people wanting fleece. Their selection of knits made me sad. I want cotton/lycra fabric for tee shirts and workout clothing. What little they have in knits is for kids or ugly. Oh well, they leave me no choice but to shop elsewhere online. At least they carry thread.

Little pricey but had exactly what I needed. If you need big pieces of fabric this is a great place to get your fabric, plus they have so many options!!!

I dont know why my reviews keep getting deleted... all of them have been positive 5-star reviews... so HERE WE GO AGAIN! I came here about 4 months ago when my buddy and I were trying to replace the headliner of an old truck he was restoring. We found some cool fabric that was a perfect replacement at this store. I was lucky to find that the fabric was also 50% off! Cant beat great fabric at half price! It sure beat trying to get some OEM fabric from the brand of the car. I will post pictures when I get a chance of the finished product! Thanks JOANN!!

Couldnt find anybody to help me...only 1 person on the floor.....ridiculous

The help is sad only a few can talk and be helpful. There are street people in there and not a good thing. The black lady is not helpful. Customers said to me, I never get good help in here. The store need some help with the bathroom ladies, nasty and smells always. The younger sales staff are pleasant and helpful. The older women need to learn some manners in dealing with the public.

Love JoAnn fabrics, good prices, so many choices of beautiful fabric and friendly staff. Joann fabric has it all.I miss not having many of your stores around anymore.

I went in looking for a specific fabric and they were very helpful in locating it. Turned out to not be quite what I thought and the associate helped me look for something in the theme I was working with. Once I found one I loved the very patient woman at the register waited while i called my mom to make sure of the measurements of my project and she even did the math for us to get the right number of yards as well as made sure my mom had the right size needle for her machine to sew the fabric! Now thats customer service!!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They took time to listen about the project I was working on and what would be the best route to take in completing it. Even though the first employee couldn’t help me with my project she listened on to learn more about working on clothes opposed to quilting which was her forte. They did not have the fabric I went in for that said it was in stock on the website but I was able to find a similar fabric for my project.

I started going to Joanns when it was a fabric store, not a craft store. I could always find whatever I needed for my sewing needs, back then.Since they changed to a craft store, they have spread themselves too thin and dont have the room to carry enough variety of all notions, nor enough choices in fabrics. And they certainly cant compete with the warehouse craft stores!As a result I havent been able to locate a fully stocked fabric store in Virginia Beach.

I e been to this store a few times. The wait seems to be a bit long to get fabric cut but the line to get out is quick. This is a large Joanns and has just about everything.

My wife spends a lot of money here. Dont let that deter you though. This place has an overabundance of fabric and other arts and craft material inuding decor. Awesome place for the artsy people. They also have sewing courses.

Visited the new JoAnns at Hilltop in VB, beautiful new store! Spacious and laid out nicely. Stopped just to check it out and left with 3 bags of bargains! Good parking too.

Theyre a bit over priced, but they have great sales very often. The people are very friendly and helpful. The custom frame desk has the nicest people and beautiful frames.

I enjoyed the organization of this location!! The kids area could use with some actual coloring books but all in all this location is so clean and the staff seems happy to be there.

I ran out of yarn for a blanket I was crocheting, the craft store closest to me didnt have it, but Joanns did!

Today was the last day my friend would be going to the 551 Hilltop Plaza location. Again, today Susan allowed for blatant disrespect of my friend while she was in their store trying to check out. It is our opinion that Susan has acted this way deliberately and because we are black. Every time she was rude it was while allowing another customer of a lighter shade to come in front of her and completely dismiss my friend until they were serviced despite her being there first. If Susan is not racist then she is obnoxiously rude. I am not sure which is better.
