*******LONG REVIEW!******I am very disappointed with my experience. It has been seven years since I have the vehicle. I took the car to Meineke for A/C reparation on a Friday afternoon. I got called at 5pm that the job being done will take 7 hrs that it was best if I leave the car overnight so that the following day they will jump to work on it first thing in the morning, So I did. The next day, Saturday, around 4pm, I called to check the status. I was told that it will not be done; that will most likely be done on Tuesday in the morning since Sundays are close and Monday was Memorial Day. On Tuesday around 4 pm, again, I called to check the status since no update was provided. I was told that the car will not be ready and will contact me as soon its ready. I went to the establishment, and Ryan took me to the working area and showed me the vehicle. The car was dismounted entirely, no dashboard, no shift stick, no steering wheel, no panel, Nothing. I told him I will be picking up the car the next day at 5pm. The next day, Wednesday, the car wasnt done. I went there personally again since no call, no update, or whatsoever. They just apologized because they were going to give me a call, but they forgot. Chris said that the vehicle had 3 more hrs of work to be done, and since it was 5:30pm it was not going to be ready that day (Wednesday). That next day morning, as soon as the car is ready, he will call me. See, they open at 7:30am... 3 hrs from 7:30am means that the vehicle was supposed to be done by 10:30am. It was already 12:30, and no calls/updates. So I called. Chris said that the car its finished that the technician is test driving it. When I picked up the vehicle, no one went to show me the labor done to the car. Nobody talked to me but Chris, who just charged me at the front desk $3,589.09.When I got in the vehicle, I noticed that the front panel was missing a button (Chris said it was a cover that they would order and let me know to install it) and two others seems to be loose and not properly installed. Also, the compartment on the top is messed up (when opening, it does not pop open like it used to and is supposed to); instead, it stays down, just not locked. Also, Chris told me that the key used to feel funny when trying to plug it in and start the car, so they fixed for me. They got the nerves of with a knife cut the corners of the plastic cover (where you hold the key to start the car), and they did the same with the area where you plug the key to start the vehicle. With the knife, they peeled all around the hole where you insert the key. In the seven years, I have owned the car, I never have any issue with the key feeling funny when trying to plug it in to start the car and I never mentioned nor asked them to fix that... So I paid $3,589.09 for a 7hrs quoted job that ended up being done four days later. No invoice, no update calls, no professionalism, no respect, and no care for customers property (vehicle). They were careless. I am not coming back to this place and most definitely not recommend it to anybody. I understand that things happen, and it could have taken longer than the 7hrs, but all the other things that they did and happened make me feel very unsafe and know that they are very unreliable.

Decent enough service but low rating because it would be nice to have an approximation of time. At least where I set up my appointment it wasn’t listed and no one said anything when I arrived. It asking for exact timeframes. Just a nice “you have time to go get a coffee” or something.

Jason at the service desk checked me in, gave me the estimate and all details in answer to my questions. Sent me a text requesting approval of the work to be performed, and contacted me promptly when the work was completed. Very professional, timely, and thorough. Very good experience.

The guys delivered in every way - keeping me updated of my vehicles status while working diligently accomplish the tasks. Jason and Chris provided reasonable explanations and solutions to the work that was needed, and all repairs were in line with my independently verified diagnostic assessment. I drove away from Meineke with the satisfaction that a fair transaction occurred and confident that my truck was ready for the rigors of Hampton Roads traffic.

Absolutely terrible. I made a 10:30 appointment for an alignment. My car never even made it to the rack until 11:30. Around 1pm I heard the technician explaining a situation about my vehicle to the store manager. The store manager took him back saying you realize you were telling me all that in front of the customer? As if they were trying to hide something. A couple minutes later they brought me my alignment printout and said I was good to go. They told me that my bolts were sized and the rear couldnt be adjusted. But oddly enough the rear was worse than it was when I brought it in, so I pointed that out. They went and talked to the technician, came back and told me the technician said he bumped the head and it got a bad reading. They offered to out it back on the rack and check. It read the same, meaning the head was not bumped, that was a lie. The guy working the front desk went and aligned my vehicle. Meaning the bolts were not sized in the rear. That was also a lie. It took him about 45 minutes. So with a 10:30 appointment time and a 45 minute job, I finally left with my car at 2:45 and paid over $100. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will never be returning to this place!!! Complete BOGUS!!!!!

I made an appointment for a simple State Inspection, and didnt leave til approximately 3 hours later.

I enjoyed coming here with my 03 Avalon in the past but wow. In the last couple months it’s been a mess with my 1994 Camry. I come in to get a state inspection to see what I need to do to get it to pass. So, I do exactly that, replace windshield, ball joint, and a couple other miscellaneous things like wheel stud and lights. I go back a week later with everything fixed and what do they do? They Added NEW things where on the previous inspection said it was good. And they had the nerve to charge me 20 dollars again. Scam artists, never coming back, lost a good customer, other than that, I think the people there are mostly rational other than a few d*** heads

Alright experience. I wouldn’t say it was negative but it also wasn’t extremely positive. Poor communication between employees led to unnecessary delays with getting repair approved with warranty company. What should have taken a day or two took over a week due to off days and weekends. Interacting with the employees was very positive, they were friendly and helpful. I would most likely go back again if I needed a repair but I hope they fix their issues between themselves and provide outstanding experiences to other customers.

Chris was very kind. They were backed up because people were late for appointments at the beginning of the day so it took 2 1/2 hours for an oil change or I had set an appointment. He was very kind and empathetic. I think corporate should change the policy where when people are late for appointments they lose their spot rather than disrupt the rest of the customers day.

I went in for a Free A/C check and was told immediately by one of the sales clerks that I needed a full diagnostic because he just knew that my system had a leak. They did the dye job, and topped off my freon, which was a quarter low ($200 mind you) and they found no leak and nothing to fix. So I paid $300 for a diagnostic I didnt need and $200 for a quarter tank of freon. $500 just to be told if it stops blowing cold again just come back. TOTAL RIP OFF.

We were leaving our vacation home doe a 9 hour drive home. But the battery died. Meineke got us in easy and back on the road within an hour. We were all very thankful for the speed of service

Went in there to get a few things replaced on my car and they did a full check of the vehicle. They said their check found that my front brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. They also said one of my front calipers was seized and the total price of the repair just for the brakes would be 1300. I took the car to another shop for a check and they said no calipers were seized and but they recommended the same repair. The only difference is that they charged me 600 dollars for the exact same service with the same exact parts. I’ve had 2 other friends who have gotten extremely overcharged at this same place. They’re quick to get the service done but they’ll scam you on the price. Careful

Had a great experience here at this location. They inspected my vehicle and got me in and out in the time frame they promised although they were busy. I would definitely return here for future automotive service needs.

I LOVE this Meineke. I live in Chesapeake and travel to this location for their Professionalism and honesty. They dont try and make you pay for things you dont need and they give you timeframes on things that DO need maintenance. The VIRGINIA BEACH DIAMOND SPRINGS LOCATION is AWESOME 👌!

This was my third oil change at the Diamond Springs location as well as getting my state inspection done there. Average wait times. Will continue to do business with them while in the area.

Horrible experience. Went in for oil change, tune up and state inspection. They ruined my car. Kept it in the shop for 37 days and when I picked it up they told me I needed to drive it for 500 more miles for the issue to resolve itself. My truck shakes so uncontrollably now. I had no issues prior to them doing my oil change, inspection, and tune up. They ruined my truck!!!! I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau, attorney general and whoever else I can. Meineke will answer for this! They were paid 4951.00 for a job that they did not complete now I have to figure out how to get a new car!!!

Weve had a lot of work done here and have been very satisfied with the work and the team. We had a check engine light and code related to a fuel exhaust issue. It was difficult to locate and required several attempts, several of which we were not charged for, they were able to isolate the issue and make the repair. The team led by Chris and Ryan have treated us very professionally and with great respect. I would recommend them.

I made an appointment after hours and somehow the shop didn’t read the information I left so I got a call asking what should be done. After we talked, it took a full day to figure out what to do next. Then I was told the work would be done Monday, it wasn’t. I called at 10:30 Tuesday and asked for an update and Ryan said he’d call me back in five minutes. I got no such call. I called again at 2:30 and Ryan said the same thing. An hour later, I called AGAIN and finally got an answer; however, as I was asking more questions I was hung up on mid-sentence. For the price I paid for this service, the customer service was terrible. My experience was very frustrating

We brought 2017 Silverado in because AC is not working. We paid hefty amount to recharge system, however when we received vehicle back it was still not cooling. We brought vehicle back to Meineke, and they said they need to replace the coolant line and charge system again. Promised to receive truck on Monday, however it was not ready until Wednesday. Another hefty fee. Vehicle is still not cooling properly. We are going to take it to the dealership to diagnose at this point.

I was having a problem with my vehicle on a return trip from the Outer Banks. I called and was immediately given an appt. My car was repaired for a reasonable price and was back on the road with my family in no time. I highly recommend.

Staff has been exceptional in providing great service. When you take your car for any issues, they do a full body check and run you a report for you to decide what services you want. They can be a bit pricey, but its well worth the results.

Work was done as advertised, but please don’t be under the mistaken impression that if you schedule an appointment that the work will be done promptly. Expect to wait over an hour, maybe two for an oil change.

They are nice and very friendly. But they are often super busy. It took a few days to even get our truck looked at for a diagnostic. Not really their fault though.

I had already scheduled an appt prior to visiting this location at a Toyota dealership that I had use however, they only had an appt for a month later. Prior to that month my A/c went out and since I primarily use my car in home health I couldn’t be in a hot car all day. I took it into this location and they figured out what the problem was and I had all the repairs I had scheduled with the Toyota dealership done in about 9 hrs at a matched price. I also started their points program which will help me with oil changes in the future.

Guys, I know this is going to sound really crazy but I they mean it when they say care center. Im so impressed with everything here. The customer waiting area is amazing .. they have wifi and computer stations. Even USB plugs to charge your phone. Good keurig coffee and. Bottles of water. The bathrooms are nicer than most peoples home bathrooms and they customer service from John was so great!!!! Im never going anywhere else to get my oil changed ever again.

My 2009 Honda fit broke down on my way to work early on a Saturday morning. I got off the interstate and pulled into the first auto shop I could to minimize damage to the engine. Fortunately they treated me right. I was able to get seen despite their busy schedule. They even took the time to save me almost $500 off the repairs by purchasing the repair parts as a set rather than individually. I was also pleasantly surprised when they offered me a complimentary service loaner.

They were super nice and professional. They got everything done on time and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg to get my car fixed.

I went to change my oil today and realized they tightened the oil bolt so hard that every wrench I used to try and remove the bolt broke. Finally I was able to get it off but the bolt head broke and the rest of the bolt was stuck in the oil pan. I was going on a trip now I have to rent a car and am about $1,000 out of pocket thanks to this place. I also have to take my car to a repair shop to get it fixed. Beware this place probably used pneumatic tools with no regard to torque specs or anything. Thanks meineke for costing my thousands

This place helped in the time of van trouble. Excellent customer service and very professional mechanic staffing. They do very good mechanic work and not cheating customers out of their money. My vehicle runs 100% better now that they have fixed my van. Thanks Meineke

I made the mistake of buying a Groupon for 3 oil changes and a state inspection. Went in today for my final oil change and my state inspection. It took over 3 hours to finish the job.

I have had multiple vehicles to this location and I feel I am getting great service and a great value at this meineke car care center.

Friendly people and they did the job without adding pressure for other things I needed. Ît was pretty costly but my oil change with cleaning got me better mileage

Unfortunately I didn’t have pleasant experience at this place. I made an appointment for state inspection a few days in advance. After I arrived, I was told to come back to pick up my car in an hour. But when I came back after one hour, I had to wait another hour to get the inspection results. Then I was asked if I wanted to pay $69.98 to have my parking break checked, which failed my test. After waiting for another hour, I was told I need to replace my caliper. I declined to have it fixed there since I felt uncomfortable with the waiting time and high cost. When I checked out I was charged additional $6.3 for the “shop supplies”, which was not mentioned at the very first place. Till now, I know many auto stores offer free break check, but I was charged $76.28 for that. I have everything fixed somewhere else with only half the cost they proposed. I hope there could be a clear price list for all the services rather than giving random prices to customers accordingly .

From the phone call I made to make the appointment, when I dropped my vehicle off to get serviced, til the moment I picked it up when it was ready just felt like you guys really cared about my needs as well as my vehicle. Very friendly customer service. Explained all the problems found during state inspection and provided photos in detailed report. They were quick and efficent helping me with new tires and a new battery in just a few hours. They didn’t pressure me to have anything fixed that wasn’t urgent. I was extremely pleased with the service I received. Highly recommend.

This is probably the fastest and cleanest place I have taken my truck to in a while. David took care of checking my truck in quickly and in no time my truck was back being taken care of. Got my state inspection and oil change done and was out the door in less than an hour. I also appreciate them taking the time to talk to me about my truck after it was inspected and let me know what issues I might encounter in the future. They guys put on a 40 series flow master on my ford f150 and they did an excellent job!!!! I will use this shop in the future.

They werent able to work on carburetors and didnt give me their diagnostic report like they promised before we started. Otherwise good

Being new to the area, I was in quick need of a few repairs for my car. The diagnosis was awful and they recommended fixes I dont need. I brought my car to a more reputable mechanic I learned of from a co-worker and was told many of the suggested fixes by Meineke were not necessary. I was Charged almost $2000 for front control arm replacements. I also have reason to believe they damaged my wheel bearing in the process. It was only 2 days after the control arm replacement, my wheel was making a loud whirring/vibrating noise. Turns out the wheel bearing is shot and has began damaging the rotor.Not returning to Meineke and their scams.

Chris is the one who helped me with my car. I’m from DC I was down there visiting my daughter and as I got down the road I started having car problems. Make the story short I had to much transmission fluid in my car they got the job done. I had no car issues driving back home you guys are the best and I will come there if I ever experience a car problem in the future and I will recommend anyone I know to come there as well thanks Chris and the rest of the crew for fixing my car. They failed my car inspection because the turn lights flush “too fast”. They suggested me change the light bulbs but “cannot promise it’ll fix the problem and don’t know how much it will take to fix it”.I asked other inspectors around the area and everyone tells me the same answer “as long as they are working, it doesn’t matter if they flush fast or slow”. I went to one of them and passed the inspection as I always do for years with exactly the same condition of the car.I would not return to this business.

It was my 1st visit yesterday and Ryan helped me. He was professional, easy to work with and very informative. He treated me like a person and not a number. He kept me aware of what was going on. Alert, excellent at what he does. So far my truck is running pretty good. Im hoping it continues. Now picking up my truck and the person I had to deal with not so much. Idk what happened all I know is he was not Ryan at all. In fact the complete opposite. I had to stand and wait over 1 hour before I could take my truck. All paperwork my truck was ready. i got there 540pm to pick up my truck he said would take 15 minutes 717pm is when I finally left and the shop closes at 6. He was still taking phone calls helping them walking away from the desk no communication saying he was trying to help 2 people at once and I had to ask more than once can you finish helping me sir. Because of that encounter the stars are not 5 but because of Ryans service I am considering giving them a second chance (idk) and wont give a 1 and rate poor.

Service was great. Timelines was okay. Professionalism was mediocre. Address customers by title and last name is way better than continuously butchering their first name. I like the detailed inspection report. I sure of why it took 4 hours though.

So the guys at Meineke are freaking awesome. Jerry, the manager is an amazing guy to work with and he looks out for his customers. The guys in the back doing the work are amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Its hard to find a garage you can trust, and I definitely recommend you go here. Thank you guys. I really appreciate it.

I had an appointment at 10:15 to get my brakes done. I didnt leave until 4:45 pm. I have been getting my brakes done for years and it has NEVER over 5 hours. It was first and last time going to Meineke.

I had an appointment at noon on Wednesday. They called and said the machine to do alignments was broken. They gave me a new apt for 3:00 on Friday. I get there at 2:50 and it took them until 5:10 to tell me my tire was separating and I would need a new tire before they could do the alignment. I asked how much a tire would cost if I just bought it there, they told me $416. For ONE tire! I left and went to a tire store and bought a tire for $85. I went back on Monday and they aligned my front end. So far, the alignment has been perfect!

I was a little worried about bringing my vehicle here, as a female I have found that I am easy prey for inflated prices on any work being done. Today I have found a place I do not need to worry about that. Sam who apparently is not a permanent team member of this store, ( he should be ) . He explained everything to me and answered my questions in laymans terms which was awesome. I have checked prices of other businesses for the same work I had done. The prices were comparable. I will give them my business in the future. Thank you Sam.. New service done on 7/23/2020 again professional people I am very happy with the work and service. Got a state inspection done here. I loved the live update app included. Very thorough inspection and they didnt push anything that wasnt needed on me. I will be sure to use them again next year.

Was passing through town and needed vehicle checked after running over debris that fell off truck in front of us. Was not able to put on lift to check for damagesWas not very helpful in referring to another shop to make sure our vehicle was safe to continue our travel.

Way too over priced. Treadquarters can do it in half the time for half the price at even better quality

I went for a alignment and they broke a lug on my struts and tried to glue it back together. As if was NOT going to find out. I left and had my MECHANIC HUSBAND look at their findings and when he went to correct a issue the nut fell right off and it was still wet from the glue they used.They also tried an tell me my control arm was from the junkyard because of a yellow marking THEY put on the part( i personally bought the part from the auto store and watched my husband put the part on). These people will rob and steal from you be very carefull i will never return. They owe me for another strut for breaking my lug on my current one but since they are so dishonest they will lie and say they did not break anything.

Good visit. Downside was cost for an O2 replacement.

Manager David was great. Ordered tires on Meineke CC website and order wasnt sent to store. Tech had some difficulties getting tires off but it was all good. Tires look and perform excellent. Tech wasnt system expert on wheel alignments, as what was needed for my vehicle. Had to come back next day when alignment expert was in. Took him 30 minutes and as good as new. No worries all the guys were professional and got it done. I would def come back for any needed services.

Ive had two oil changes and an inspection using a Groupon I purchased. I was a little disappointed at first that I still had to pay extra money even after purchasing the groupon but the service I received was well worth it. David is quite the character and will make sure you leave laughing or at least a smile on your face. Ryan has the best phone etiquette and remembers voices very well. Id recommend any day.

Highly disappointed in the service I received from this location will alignment actually was worse when leaving the shop had to take it to a different place to get it done this was the third time coming to the shop for the same alignment never corrected never done right I would strongly disapprove of anyone going to this place for any type of work

I made an appointment for an inspection and oil change for 830....get there to pick it up @ 415....they were just working on it!!!! What was the purpose of an appointment!!!! They say there was a mixup....no you just were taking other people in front of me because I dropped mine off with a Groupon n other people were there waiting with $$$ in hand.

No hassle, no extra fluff or charges.Everything is outlined, detailed and explained as to what charges and why.The lovely Lady, Rebecca took care of me for initial inspection. 20$ estimate.Then Chris came in and it got interesting in a good way.Both were courteous and poked at each other making for a fun environment to discuss in.Both are very open and honest about the situations.My car tire issue, I wanted to replace only one tire to pass inspection and Chris looked it over telling me what I would feel AFTER I decided.
