Great company! I have been going to them for years and continue to go out of my way to use them. They are family owned and really good people. I would pay anything to be sure I’m not getting ripped off. Joy up at the front is awesome to work with!This is the only mechanic shop I trust to give me a fair deal and be honest about repairs. As someone who doesn’t understand much about cars, it’s nerve wracking trying to find a business that won’t take advantage of that. A To Z is a great company to do business with. They let me know what I needed done. My latch hook on my hatchback needed to be replaced. Quoted me a price for the part, what the total would be and about how long it would take to finish the work. They even gave me options of times to bring it in to have the work done. I had the work done today and everything was exactly like they said. They worked with me from start to finish. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A TO Z AUTO REPAIR!! Will be using them for ALL my car needs!

I have bought two used vehicles lately and taken them to A-Z for an insurrection. First vehicle needed no repairs and the second needed a brake job and a belt. They could have sold me other things and I wouldn’t have known so it’s nice to trust a machanic. They also do repairs on an old Cadi I have and the price is always responsible. I love and trust these guys.

After my daughter recommended using this shop to replace two front wheel studs and wg wts as well as lubricating 3 wheels, l was pleasantly surprised to see the job done quickly and efficiently at a lesser price than was estimated elsewhere !This will be my repair go to in the future.Thank you so much

HONESTY! Rob runs a great family run business. After many years of taking cars to mechanics I have found my go to. Just a solid operation all around. I send everyone to A to Z and all have been very pleased. Mostly what makes this place different is that everything gets checked and verified by an owner that cares about his customers and his shop and reputation. This review is way overdue IMO, as I have been going here for several years and have helped many by having experience and giving good recommendations. Its always nice to hear your friends were pleased and impressed with their professionalism too. FYI: I own several vehicles and have staff that fill my shoes and every experience is just as consistent as the last. I cant thank them enough and I highly recommend them!

Beware they will charge you to diagnose & inspect your vehicle which is something they dont tell you upfront. Paid $115!! I have NEVER had a mechanic charge me to determine whats wrong with my vehicle especially after giving them the work. A $1k+ repair bill for non major repairs is over the top expensive. High rates here - no breaks. Work was fine but overpriced. I dont plan on returning. There are better, less greedy shops out there.

Took a car there for a prepurchase inspection. Rocky is very knowledgeable, experienced and trustworthy. Even though the inspection is cheaper than what other places charge, it is very thorough. He identified numerous issues with the car, saving me from costly repairs down the line.Will definitely use them in the future.

I was given the run around by dealerships and large chain repair shops when what I needed was really very simple. Robert, the owner, was so kind to take a look under my car without an appointment. He showed me exactly what the issue was and I was up and running in under 30min. Im so happy to have found a shop that I can take my vehicle to and trust!

Rob and the whole team at A to Z are incredible. I moved to Chicago and as soon as I drove out here, I had an issue with my car. I went to Firestone and was told I needed to spend $4500 to replace my motor. Desperate and on the recommendation of a family friend, we decided to try A to Z for a second opinion. Rob and the technicians were amazing, incredibly thorough, and truly honest. They correctly diagnosed and fixed the issue, only costing 1/4th of what Firestone quoted.Two weeks later, another issue arose. Rob took the time to call the previous mechanic and figure out the warranty on the part that needed fixing to save me almost $300 because it was still under warranty. It was fixed quickly and confidently.Today, I went back just to double check that everything was okay. Rob took the time to show me and fully explain what I should and shouldn’t be concerned about in the future. When I tried to apologize for wasting his time, he assured me there was no need because, as he said, “This is what we do.”They are very reasonably priced and are willing explain literally everything, from the root cause of the issue to the break down of the charges. The team was fully aware that I know nothing about cars and I never, ever felt condescended to in ANY way. Not once.I truly and wholeheartedly mean it when I say that A to Z has been a god sent since my move here. I live 90 minutes each way from the shop and will gladly drive that distance to get my car worked on by people I fully trust. I highly, highly, highly recommend them to everyone and anyone who needs any work done on their car.

Everytime I have had my cars repaired here I have never had to return for something that was done wrong or broke down after a short time. You cant say that about just any Repair shop. This business meets the expectation that if something gets fixed, it stays fixed for a reasonable wear and tear life of that repair. You will have to get in line and wait for a repair but there is a good reason for that.

This company is a BIG SCAM!!! The mechanics have the car fixed but didnt fill the right fluid after the car was done and result the car to experience issues. He doesnt seems to care at all while fixing it. Hes just doing a little amount of work while fixing the car and charged me so much for the labor for the job! I had a real mechanic look at the invoice of labor and my mechanic said that A-Z screwed me over!! SHAME ON YOU!!PLEASE Watch out for FAKE Positive reviews they leave here! This company is FRAUD!!

I have gone to A to Z for years now. I find that Robert, the owner, and his entire team are consistently good with what they need to do with your car issues. I have never had a problem there. Theey are always pleasant and attentive and explain things easily. Tells you truthfully up front how much time he will need and what needs to be done. And if that were to change for any reason, he calls to notify you what he has found and what he thinks should be done before he precedes further. Prices are outstanding too if you compare. I always tell him I dont want to move anywhere now, unless I take my favorite mechanic with me. How many people can say that about their mechanics? Seriously, this place is very very good.A place that you can actually trust to do a good job. Make that outstanding. If there were six stars, I would give them that.

A great local shop recommended by my father-in-law. The place is family owned and operated and it shows in the best ways possible. Theyre willing to explain the issues and worth out solutions that make sense for your repair and arent slyly trying to eek out a couple extra bucks for pointless things. They are honest and maintain integrity in a business where it is commonplace to take advantage of customers for a little bump in profit. They will tell you what the issues are with your vehicle, if and when they must be fixed, or if they are not pressing issues, and they will work with you to find the most cost effective way to keep your vehicle road worthy.I bought a lemon off a used car lot when I was 16 and Rob did not milk the vehicle for repairs, as many others could and would have. He did the work on it as needed and advised me on several occasions that it was likely a perpetual money pit, and that we would be better off cutting losses than pouring more money into the car. I have brought a number of other cars in to A to Z in the intervening years, and have never had an issue with the work they did or the price they charged.Auto repair is an unknown for a lot of us, and a good mechanic with integrity and a well - run business is hard to find. Since moving to Illinois, I have struggled to find a good honest repair shop to take care of my 11 year old Volvo. After a few misses, I was recommended A to Z by a friend and will never take my car anywhere else. The owner is upfront and honest about repairs needed and doesnt hesitate to give you the full story on why he recommends one repair/part/maintenance fix over another. The prices have all been more than fair, and on my last suspension fix, there was a lesser charge for labor than he quoted because the job did not take as long to complete. Im so grateful to them for helping me keep my car on the road and avoid a hefty car payment right out of college. If youre looking for a repair shop who cares about your car just as much as you do, A to Z is the place.

These folks are the best. A dealership wanted to replace the front timing cover, tensioner, and serpentine belts to fix a squeak coming from the engine, claiming a leak from the timing cover onto the belt was causing the squeak. A to Z did not find a leak, replaced just the tensioner (and explained the issue to me), and its been running great ever since. It cost 10% of the dealership quote. Thanks!

Fantastic customer service and communication!Took my car in to have a general inspection for safety as were expecting our first child this year. They troubleshot the vehicle, and gave me upfront pricing and a general to-do list for future repairs. They were frank with their assessments and stood by their pricing which was very competitive with other shops I checked.The customer service is what stood out the most. A to Z made sure to communicate any issues they came across, and called me multiple times to discuss and get approval for repairs they felt were needed while my car was in their hands. I was able to discuss my budget and work with what was needed versus what I could afford, and I left with a fixed car and new shop to take my car to and recommend to friends in need of service.Great job, guys. You made it easy on me.

My car needed a new battery and A to Z was in the area. I called A to Z and Rob told me he could take me, no problem. I found out later they were closing less than 15 minutes from when I called but they were still willing to help me out before they closed. They had my battery in stock and had the new battery installed in less than ten minutes.2020 update: Still an awesome and honest place. I feel lucky to have this family business available as my local go too. My wife and I have had our vehicles in their shop several times for issues with nothing but their honest and family owned treatment. Both of our vehicles are 115k+/155k+Most recently (July 2020), my 05 Sierra destroyed a front bearing and took out the front axle, brake assembly, etc along with it. As all other reviews have pointed out Rob and team are awesome and took me through the essential vs. non essential repairs for a more than reasonable cost while keeping me in the loop with estimates as the work progressed.As a side note (no joke), the tow truck driver that hauled my broken truck to A to Z from Glen Ellyn mentioned that he tows more cars to A to Z than any other repair shop because of (drivers words) A to Zs honesty that he hears from tow customers. Excellent job A to Z!!!

Ron is great and the service they provide is excellent. Rob takes the to time discuss any problems found with the customer before work is done. Even when I told him that he did not need to call before starting the work, he still called when the repair was more than I had expected so that I could make an informed decision as to whether I wanted everything done. I really appreciated it. There are other body shops in the area, but Rob is the best when it comes to keeping the customer informed and doing the job right.

Great auto shop - Rob and his team provide quality service at a fair price. They also work efficiently so your car is not down and out for to long. Been coming for years and don’t see that changing anytime soon!

I brought a truck in to get an oil change, charge the ac and some tires. He tells me over the phone its going to be 3 to 4 grand because of this other stuff he found. I told him that was crazy but he assured me I had serious suspension problems. I trusted him and said fix and well talk when I come to get it. I showed up when he said it was done and asked for the invoice. He said the truck was ready but the bill wasnt. I thought that was weird but took the truck. Less then a 40 miles later I was all sweaty because the air didnt work and my engine blew a gasket which caused my trans to slip. He never changed the oil or fixed the air and gave me a truck with no oil in it. I brought it back to him and he says he doesnt now what happened to my truck but he can fix the engine and trans at additional cost and wants me to pay 3500 something for a truck he blew up, where I never even seen an invoice, just to get back a truck with no engine or trans. That truck has been in his possession ever since. I dont feel like paying to have a mechanic drain my oil not fill and blowing up my truck. If you want a blown up vehicle take it here. Update- 10 months later and my truck is still sitting there. He offered to fix it at cost after he admitted that he didnt change the oil or even check the levels. He asked me if I checked the oil when I picked it up. I told him that no one checks the oil levels or checks to see if the oil filter was changed after their vehicle is worked on by a mechanic. Admitted that they didnt do anything that I asked for except the tires, and they still think I should pay to repair my engine and transmission. The vehicle had a truckmount carpet cleaner in the back so I parked it over the winter to keep it warm. All I wanted was an oil change, air and tires and I wound up losing a chunk of my business.

This is one of those rare businesses where you go out of your way to patronize them. A family owned business for years, they know what theyre talking about. Theyre also extremely honest. If it doesnt need fixing theyre not going to tell you it does.Been sitting here listening to the interactions and you can hear the experience in the conversations as well as the sense that they really are not here to scam people out of money.Ive recommended A to Z to serveral people in Chicago, and even though theyre out in Villa Park I assure them its well worth it!

5. First time customer. I dropped in unannounced for an oil change and they politely squeezed me in even though they were very busy. They also agreed to look into a noise that was concerning me. They changed the oil, found the source of the noise, established a plan, and gave me a quote--quickly, fairly, and transparently. Nice owner and mechanics! May have found my new go-to shop!

My rating is a 5+. A-Z squeezed my daughters car in on short notice and repaired a steering issue that occurred while she was visiting from Pittsburg. I do much of the maintenance on my cars myself being a former construction equipment mechanic, but when I have a difficult repair or an elusive problem I trust A-Z to diagnose and repair it properly. I have never had to return due to improper diagnosis or repair. Its very nice to have a shop like this nearby, but I would travel a great distance for their service. Thanks again Robert!

Amazing experience with these guys. The head guy Robert didnt charge me a dime when he realized my vehicle wasnt worth the repair. This blessed man assisted me in understanding the situation,and reassured my company of the issue in detail. Lastly laboriously assisted in jacking my dead vehicle on the trailer lift for me to haul backto Cincinnati. It was completely secure and I made it home safe in the dead of am. Getting my minivan back into shape after years of just minor maintenance. Robert and his mechanics were able to identify problems related to sloppy handling and noises I was concerned about and fix everything. There were some safety issues that really needed addressed and some less critical issues that I was glad they fixed. The van drives like it was new. There was a minor issue where my wife brought it back and it was resolved in less than 5 minutes when we came by. As a general rule make sure you have an appointment. They are fair and will be totally honest

I took my vehicle to A to Z for a quote and was charged $60 for the quote alone.Once I received the diagnosis, I decided to take the car home before proceeding with the service (it was a $$$ repair) but I was surprised to be charged $57.50 for just the quote. It would have been okay if I was notified about this in advance of dropping off, but I was not informed until picking the car up.I would have brought the car back for them to do the repair if I hadnt been charged for the quote because they seem to do a good job. But after being charged almost $60 for a quote, Ill take it somewhere else where the quote is offered for free.

Awesome repair shop. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my car. They are great mechanics, honest and competitively priced. They care more about their reputation and integrity than a few extra dollars. You will always get treated right there.

Worst place to go to! Came here because of all the good reviews I read. Very disappointing. Had just bought a used car and wanted to get it inspected (something every mechanic will do for free). They charged me $45!!! Im a college student, I dont have that kind of money to be throwing out. I felt taken advantage of. Never again, hope you dont make the same mistake and fall for the good reviews.

Trusted this company with my work van. Paid them many thousands of dollars to have various work done, including a new engine and transmission. Last year I had them replace brakes. Earlier this year I brought it to them because it would shake violently anytime I would apply the brakes while on the highway. Their response to me was to drive it locally until winter time. Im in the emergency service industry, serving the chicagoland area, and Im supposed to drive on side streets for up to 50 plus miles? If you want someone to stand behind their work and not let you drive a dangerous vehicle, dont trust A to Z.

Terrible service, dropped it off for 8am appointment thay was scheduled a week ahead, went to pick up car and 5pm and my car was still outside untouched, when I went inside it seemed they could care less, all I wanted was a alignment. Now Im going someplace else and I recommend that other people do the same
