Recently heard that this place is going out of business, which is really unfortunate. I’ve been in the store a couple times and was impressed by their selection as well as how friendly their entire staff is. I remember when I first came into the store and felt overwhelmed with how many products they had, but luckily their staff is super knowledgeable and was able to help me pick out some drinks. I also appreciated that they had many beers from local breweries. The picture below is a selection of beers that my sister got me for my birthday, and most of them are from breweries in the areaIf the owners or staff is reading this, you guys are great. This is a very nice, modern little neighborhood bottle shop that has an old small business and good family-type vibe and feel to it. It has a nice community-type vibe as well. Every now and then they have some good imported craft beers, as well as craft beers from different parts of the country, but their main focus seems to be more on local craft beers. The people who work here are nice, too. Due to current circumstances, unfortunately, their business has been suffering, so if you happen to be a craft beer enthusiast, I recommend giving them a try! If they get more business again, they can possibly expand their craft beer selection back to where it used to be. They also have a solid rewards program for repeat customers. On a separate note, if and when things get better, I hope you can try to reorder some South African Craft Beers, because I heard that you used to carry some (like from “Darling Brewery,” for example)! Unfortunately you probably had these South African Craft Beers before I even started coming, because I have been looking all over for some with little luck. If you ever happen to get some South African Craft Beers again, I will gobble some of them up! Lastly, from my experience, you can mix as many craft beers as you wish… they will break up the six-packs for you, so that you do not have to buy six or more of the same exact beer! You can mix as many of them as you want. Cheers!

Everybody here knows their stuff. They updated the layout over the last couple of months and it seems like their selection decreased a lot, but they still have a large variety of good local stuff and some far flung things.

Too bad I dont live near Black Dog Beer Shop - Id be in here every week! The gal with fun hair who helped me find some of her personal sour faves was extremely helpful and generous with her time. She oriented me around the store to help me find the right sours. This place has character, exceptional customer service, and an impressive variety of offerings. Thanks for making my weekend!

Such a great place to get some amazing craft beer. You can get as many or as few as you want, and they will break any 4-pack if you just want one or two of a beer. Customer service is always great, and they are more than willing to suggest beers and have great knowledge of the craft beer scene. Plenty of local DMV area breweries as well as some rare finds from across the country. I will always go back here for new beer.

Awesome locally focused craft beer shop. These guys have connections I’ve yet to see at any other VA store. They have an incredible selection of local beers. What sealed the deal for me was their VT beer selection. I’d recommend Foam! Great staff, and great 10% off deal on cases!

This location also has a selection of drafts if you prefer to get a growler instead. Give this a shot if youre looking for something new, or just a good source for your favorites. A beer lovers paradise -- unbelievable selection, prices and customer service. Where to start? Its great to have such a variety of different beers -- 667, to be exact! -- and an even better, knowledgable, friendly staff to converse with while shopping around. There was no pretentiousness or any of that you sometimes get at other spots, super-warm vibe. Had heard good things, and they exceeded my expectations. Most importantly, its great to see a beer store that actually sells singles -- and tons of them, at that. Ill def be back, multiple times. Cheers!

I moved here 2 years ago and Im mad I just found this place. Honestly the best beer selection in the Dunn Loring-Merrifield area. Staff are very friendly and its an easy walk from the metro so a perfect place to pick up a 4/6 pack before heading home!

This place has selection on par with other independent beer shops in the area, but the pricing is preposterous. They charge $10 more a six pack for world wide stout and 5-7 more for some commonwealth beers than norms. Save your cash unless you don’t have a car and can’t drive elsewhere.
