If you own a body shop, you NEED to know Mr. McDorman. He is a truly good and honest man who will fight for your customers rights. He has helped several of our customers get a fair retail value for totaled vehicles and to make sure the vehicle should actually be totaled. We all know that the insurance companies tend to under value vehicles and can leave your customers holding the bag. He has also helped our customers stand up to the insurance companies to get high quality repairs that live up to our shops reputation and not half a job, which is what insurance companies, sometimes, want to pay. He is very knowledgeable and very good at his job. One example, we had a customer bring their new, 2016, car in that had been hit very hard on the front drivers side and also damaged the wheel and suspension components. My initial estimate for repairs was around $16K, while the insurance company came up with about $7K. The car could not be repaired for that, pure and simple and would have been a safety issue due to damaged suspension that the insurance company was unwilling to pay to replace, among other things. What an awesome and amazing learning experience totaling out a vehicle has turned into! I know that probably doesnt make much sense but keep reading... Last week my 16 year old daughter was involved in an accident in which her little red Honda Accord was a total loss. Thankfully she only suffered very minor injuries and is OK now. The biggest concern I had after realizing she was ok was what the Insurance company would do. I did not purchase Gap insurance with the vehicle (a mistake I will never make again). Naturally when the Insurance company did their market evaluation it was for several hundred dollars less than what I owed on the Honda. On April 18, 2016 my handicap conversion van was flooded. The Insurance Company wanted to total it, they did not seem to understand that this vehicle was specialized for my sons needs.
