It was newly opened, clean, orderly, and I believe still looking for help. They had many items with fair prices. Youll find it in the old Kmart plaza in Vernon.

I can find some real great buys there but sometimes its a real flop. But when I find great deals, they are fantastic deals! I love finding food deals on Bobs Red Mill, European Chocolate, and great prices on nuts and spices. So often, I find my favorite organic brands here at awesome prices. Today I even found a Boys Nautica Suit in a 5t for 3.99!!!!

They have a little bit of everything I went there for some glue.. ended up buying a couple sweatshirts some yard tools, measuring cups, laundry detergent, body soap and puppy pads.. I did get the glue... Gorilla Glue.. good stuff..

I truly enjoy this new location. Its always clean and well stocked. The customer service is spot on. It had everything I needed to set up my patio this summer.

Can find a LOT of items here!! From CLOTHES too food stuffs and bedroom acceries bathroom decor and outside inside decorations for seasonal and holidays! Large store and could be less crowded!! Meaning isles too closed in and items over flowing off racks/ shelfs etc!! Put clothing in proper sizes EXAMPLE: Sweaters with same/ jeans with same/Casual wear together/ Bedding with SAME ETC!!!!

I love this place, its a mix of everything. Extremely diverse selection of ethnic foods. Always interesting finds. Everything from cosmetics to household goods, toys, clothing you name it its in this store.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. I would taste this store a zero star if I could. I tried to return a ship to store slow cooker they didnt work at all the 1st time I used it. Kathy, who claimed to be the manager on duty stated that if I did not have the crazy deal card I was given when I got the slow cooker that she couldnt do anything for me. I tried to explain to her that I had used the card and she told me if I didnt have the card there was nothing she could do for me. Kathy then became very rude to me. I asked to speak to the primary store manager and was told I could call him Monday. Kathy refused to give me her last name and told me if I had an issue I could call customer service. Never again will I buy a ship to store open from ocean state job lot

One of their nicer and more organized stores. Plenty of product on hand. If you like the store, this is one of their better kept up stores. If your not familiar with Ocean State, its a catch all discount store. Never the neatest place in the world but you never know what you may find and it can definitely save you some bucks.

Since Kmart vacated, this is been a great substitute. although they dont have all the merchandise of a big department store, they always have everything I need at a reasonable price. Its set up very well and theres a big variety.

I love the store lots of cool stuff and its a great place to save money. I bought some German made flooring here that was phenomenal and the price was great. I also buy my bird seed and pet products here as they are much cheaper than other places.

This place is fairly new and Vernon so its not quite organized and maybe not fully set up. I found a lot of stuff out of place and it was kind of chaotic but any other Ocean State Job lots I have been to Ive had a good experience

This was my first time at this location. I found the store well stocked, very clean, and the staff very friendly. The prices are good and the quality is as well. It is a pleasure to see the old Kmart store repurposed. Really like Ocean State!!

Covid compliances: Masks worn by staff and patrons at all times. Traffic flow fir patrons is indicated on the floor with red arrows.The store is fairly new and well kept. Some shelves were empty as you could see they were transitioning over to Spring & Summer items.Alas, checkout is not set to go smoothly as they have a bottle neck situation where they set it up. The start of the register line is at the far end near a cluster of aisles. Those returning items see no indication as to where to go and just head straight to the registers. This made for quite a few angry senior citizens who voiced their opinions quite loudly and made a few of us feel uncomfortable.Management was not to be seen and no one was in charge of sending customers to the registers other than Cashiers who had to walk away from their register, walk around to be seen, vocalize to the next person in line, then circle back to attend to the patron.The wait time was horrible checking out. We had to wait 15 minutes for a cashier to show up as all staff were apparently stocking shelves.

Im so happy they opened up an Ocean State Job Lot near me. Its very convenient and the prices are always spot on. I hope they remain in business for a long time so I dont need to run to the far side of Manchester to go to another similar store.

I like OSJL. I enjoyed shopping at the Kmart over the years. I miss Kmart so much. It had a lot of amazing quality worth of stuff.Now... at Ocean State, they have a lot to offer. They have the stuff they had when Kmart existed in town. From clothes to food to household supplies, OSJL has everything you need for the lower, quality price.I dont have to drive further to Manchester anymore to go to an OSJL. Its similar to Ollies Bargain Outlet & Big Lots.I recommend this store to the citizens of Vernon, CT and the whole entire Tolland County section of Connecticut.Its worth the shot!

Will not take open package of ice melter my wife bought by mistake . It said safe for dogs but is also has small stones in it !!!! So I left it there I told the store manager it useless for me !!

I was at the Store Friday the 22nd of Jan.Great deals on many things,I purchased mens pullover, long sleeve shirt and socks.All for a great price probably a 80% savings.My cashier Melissa was great, she even folded my stuff as she would her own.Nice conversation, and look forward to next trip in .

I went in yesterday around 1pm and was doing a return and cashing out with customer service. An elderly man had fallen out front and got hurt badly, the supervisor helping me stopped everything she was doing to run out and call 911 for the man and help. She came back in and apologized to me and would be right with me - of course it was no problem at all. I wanted to speak upper management to let them know how friendly, patient and caring she is. I will be returning back to the Vernon location from now on instead of the one on Spencer street. The staff in Vernon is caring And the store is well maintained. The young lady’s name was Mandy, I only remembered it because it is the same as my daughter. Thank you Mandy, you were the sunshine to a bad morning. Continue being nice, the world needs more people like you! Thank you OCEAN STATE.

New location in Vernon. Well laid out and not cluttered some other similar chains. Definitely recommend.

Went here last week and the store has alot of merchandise however. It is so disorganized. There are towels in 4 different aisles. Some aisles are so narrow you can barely get a shopping cart thru. The checkout line was confusing. They wanted you to wait by register 6 but there was no sign stating so. And there are Xs on the floor at each register which is deceiving.

Great place they have just what your looking for

Caters mostly to dogs. Not enough options for cat products and not much of a discount on what I do find for cats needs, ie scratch pads and trees r just a stupid price, canned food for cats r limited 2 one brand at a dollar per can, two flavors one brand one too costly on the dry cat food, and not much of a deal or selection on the cat litter. Not much of an option on this for cats or any other accessories. What Ive found is not worth the money in my opinion.
