Weve used Quinlan and Fabish for over 10 years. We bought my daughters cello and violin through their rental program. Now, we are renting a trumpet for my son. The rental includes repairs which we used several times.

My daughter couldnt decide between two instruments when Q&F came to her school. I called Q&F and they advised me to bring her to the store to retry both instruments. They had fabulous customer service! The lady took time out, explained both instruments in detail, and let my daughter take her time to try them both. My daughter wanted to play drums, but her school doesnt offer lessons, however, when she say the full set in the store, she was ecstatic. The gentleman was so nice, he let her play. He even showed her a beat, using multiple drums at once. I really appreciate their help, patience and wonderful customer service! I highly recommend this place! Great experience!

This is a nice, clean, well organized shop. The staff was polite, informative and friendly.They have a nice selection of percussion accessories that are easy to browse and find what you are looking for pretty quick.

I went in looking for an oboe, not really expecting to walk out that day with one. The girl took her time looking into prices for me and found the oboe for me. I walked out very happy. Thank you again!!!

I had to run there at the last minute before they closed to get a cello tuned. They were very nice about it and didnt make me feel like an inconvenience.

Professional and courteous staff. I was there to try out an Alto flute which they brought in just for me to try. I had plenty of time to try it out and left with the flute on their generous monthly rent_to_own payment plan.

Thank you Quinlan and Fabish!! When my son expressed an interest in playing an instrument for school I didnt know if it would be possible. Quinlan and Fabish helped us through the process and it was affordable for us even with an already stretched budget. Everyone who works here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. When we came in with some detached strings, they took care of it right then and there. My sons musical experience was memorable for him, he even kept his music book and stand as a souvenir. You were apart of that!

Helpful staff. Once you buy from there you are entered into the system. They log all of your purchases. If you need to buy reeds, for instance, theyll know what kind you need the next time you go there. They also have an option to make payments on instruments, and you can take them home the first day!

A week into January I told them this will be his last month.... They then called to inform me they put someone else in his evening spot but for his last few lessons he could come in a much easier time slot..... I work and was unable to make it to those.Unacceptable!I have auto withdrawal monthly and feel like I payed for a month I lost.

Renting my daughters violin from here. Knowledgeable staff, no issues with this company. Cheap rental and they offer lots of instruments.

Unfortunate place where clueless parents frequent and buy subpar products for their children.Dont expect anything actually worth your money, I constantly have to ask parents to return the rentals and find a different rental places due to the violins necks being too thick, the instrument sounding terrible and often all scratched up and whatnot. I never blame the parents for not knowing any better (how are they supposed to? the schools just suggest em and they show up at the schools) but theyre constantly the worst sounding batches of all. The worst is when musicians actually purchase retail violins and get stuck with them. Please... if you are spending $500+ (and even up to $3k), PLEASE do some research and compare different shops. Chicago has a ton that actually hire talented luthiers. Sure, even those shops can be slimy but thats why every musician owes it to themselves to be educated.
