This is a great non profit company. You can donate almost any household project material whether new or taken from a tear out and they will resell them. They use earnings from these sales to help families who are underprivileged get brand new houses. The community ralies for these families and gives a helping hand with labor. I highly recommend HFH is you need to donate items or if youre looking for items.

Just had the best experience at the Urbandale store. Shaun Jennex was so helpful and kind. We needed a door we couldn’t have found one without his help. We’ll definitely be shopping here again. Highly recommend the Urbandale ReStore and Shaun! Lots of great finds!!

Excellent deals, lots of stuff we needed. Sadly I couldn’t get to seeing it all because it’s a bit cluttered and multiple aisles were blocked or too narrow for my wheelchair to fit. Otherwise, great place.

This place is a great place to find deals at. Its similar to a good will but for furniture. They have many different things. When I visited they had a ton of light and rug options. We bought two rugs from here and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I love the rugs we bought. Super cute and will fit nicely in our new basement.

We’ve been visiting the Urbandale Restore since we moved here in 2018 and have always had a good experience. This week we had an experience that far exceeded our expectations: recently we purchased some flooring and found the product was warped and wouldn’t lay flat. We worked with Shaun in flooring who immediately owned the situation and offered us a no hassle resolution - we highly recommend doing business here! There’s great deals on new or slightly used product, you pay no sales tax and the staff provides excellent customer service!

So many things for awesome prices, such a variety, could spend all day in there. At LEAST 1/2 of what you would pay in a big name store.

Its like if Good Will and Home Depot had a baby. Like, your friends dad is super handy and just has one of everything in his big garage. This store is that dads dream garage.

Workers are very courteous and willing to help. I had duplicate items with different pricing, no issues obtaining the lower price for me. Additionally, I made a prior purchase and got home and saw that it wouldnt work. Lost the receipt and was able to exchange for the right item!!! Also make sure you set aside some time for shopping because a 5 min trip will turn into a hour with the selection of goods they have!!!

We travel 1.5 hours to go to this Restore. It is far & away the BEST Restore, & we make a point to visit the local Restore in each town we visit. Its extremely well organized, clean, & the staff are knowledgable & helpful.

I feel like most items are over priced. Probably could make more money selling more of the inventory for a little less.

Great place to donate unused stuff for your home!

Kids got some samples here to take home and try out. Its so nice that they sell samples as kids didnt like any of them when laid down so its back to try again. But at least they hadnt bought a roomful and not liked it. Good prices and definitely a great place to check out.

Im not sure Ive ever been to a ReStore that has been so well organized most items were marked and fairly easy to get to. The store was clean and they had nice restrooms. And theyre not far from the interstate.

They do have a lot of good stuff. Brand new building very nice place. You’ll find great deals there.

Love finding just the right thing

My new first stop for anything for the house. Bill, Joshua, Michelle and Shaun were all very helpful! Coming back for flooring.

Some good deals are available if you check back often. Unfortunately, like all other des Moines stores they way overprice a lot of times. Do you not realize this is free, donated stuff, so why can I go to a store and buy it new for only bit more? A least then I get a warranty and can return the item if defective.

Wonderful way to recycle building materials and the money generated goes to a good cause.

This is a nice location than the one on Euclid but some of the things are priced well and some are just absurd. I found a door here for only $20 that was prehung but then saw a porter brand impact driver that sells for about $90 they had priced for $125. The deals are to be found here just have to know what your buying and need to compare prices. I was at the other restore and they had the same size door but wanted $160 it was nearly identical. So yes you can get good stuff but you need to check their different locations.

I respect this organization for its mission, but this last visit seemed like there was a lot more junk laying around than the normal high quality recovered materials. I dont know if its the quality of the donations or if theyre not putting as much effort into cleaning things up.A lot of items seemed to be just piled on the shelves, but that couldve been the patrons.

Some prices are great. They really need to check themselves on appliances and furniture, because I literally went down the road and found a BRAND NEW hutch for the same price they were asking for one that was maybe 10+ years and needed work done to fix the wood.

Staff was fantastic! Helpful and accommodating. We had a lucky find of two Pfister bathroom faucets brand new in the box that we were eyeing on Amazon. Saved $90 for the two faucets! Amazing deal!

I bought a sliding door there. It saved me a couple hundred dollars instead of buying a brand new one at Menards.

Not impressed. Considering items are donated, most things are vastly overpriced. I’m all for supporting a charitable cause but why pay these prices when you can find a new item for just a few bucks more at Menards? Even the outdated, damaged cabinets are priced very high. Inventory could be turned over more quickly and, I think, more money made for Habitat for Humanity if prices were more reasonable. I love to salvage and repurpose but I can do better elsewhere with less impact on my wallet.

Fun to browse. Some good deals. Overpriced on some considering its donated and some way outdated. Good selection of time and flooring though and nice new rugs. Worth a visit when starting a project.

Cant shop here if you have medical issues and cannot wear a mask. I was told I had to wear one anyway or leave. I left.

Great place to get some project materials.

This place is great. If you are doing kitchen tear out, call them! They come and take everything out for free and you can claim it as charitable. This is much better than sending all those cabinets to the dump. The actual store also has a bunch of stuff and the stock varies over time. So they might not consistently have items. The tend to get busy on the weekends, so going during the week is better.Theyve adjusted their hours, so make sure they are open before heading there.

Open now, however they have temporarily rescinded their return policy - No Returns accepted. I have to wonder why, since most items are donated and potentially contaminated anyway. Quarantine returned inventory if necessary, just dont strip away the return policy. Prices have grown and are too high here in recent years anyway...

Great customer service

Weve shopped here several times and each time we have found the items that we were looking for and items we werent looking for. An addictive store that is fun to stop in and look around since things are constantly changing. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what they have and exactly where it is. Shawn was incredibly helpful and gave us an amazing deal each time. I have saved almost 90% compared to the exact same items at the large lumberyards or flooring stores.

Both RESTORES always have ever changing products. Very helpful with remodeling. Have very good prices.

Great place to get supplies for a small remodel or basement finishing project. You have to stop in frequently to catch the really good stuff. Great place to go and save TONS of money on your house projects, if your patient and dont need specific things right away this place is perfect. Great place for rental property repairs!This location is not quite as good as the Euclid location but it still has a nice selection. Prices tend to be a little higher here vs the Euclid location, in some cases priced higher than new and/or not consistent. Just be aware and know what your buying. All giving this location a 3 star review.Edit: September 23rd 2020--. Definitely check pricing, more and more items are priced higher than new in a traditional retail store, keep in mind these items are used majority of the time. Seems to me they Google the item, find the highest priced/MSRP and mark down from there. These prices they find are not realistic to whats actually out there just down the street in Home Depot. More power to them if they can sell them for more than new, keep it up if its working! Dropping down to two stars because of the pricing and inconsistency on it.

This is such a great place to go to save on the items you might otherwise pay retail for at a big box store. I have a number of items I check there for every few months. I would probably have better luck get thing I want if I were more diligent in checking it out weekly. They have done a nice expansion and added a section of some regular stocked cabinets. That certainly appear to be quality built. Looking forward to getting some on our next project.

The Urbandale restore is a fantastic place to get both new and used items at a large discount. And it is so awesome to know that the profit from your purchase is going to such a worthy cause. The stuff here is often the exact same thing you can find at a corporate supply store, but cheaper and it comes with the bonus of knowing you helped your fellow man.

Never seems to fail we find what were looking for. And it always fun to look at the selection and think about other projects to do. Great place and great people

Great place to buy some new and used items for good prices! Good for paint supplies as well.

Good store to pick up odds and ends for home improvement. Sales go to help habitat for humanity and running cost of the store. Many products are donated to the store and resold at a low price. Only issue is they may not have all of the material need to complete large projects. Keeping that in mind will allow buyers to work with the products on hand and be more flexible with utilizing reclaimed products and help those in need as well as the environment.

Great place to find what you need for your home.

My wife and I drove in from Adel and found the Urbandale Re-Store, clean & kept. We were in search of a couple blank by-pass doors for a closet and found them. The staff was helpful and curtious. Extremely well priced.

Lots of home remodeling goods for very good prices. New and like new items for just about any project from flooring tile to appliances to fixtures and hand tools and paint. Not fancy, but good stuff supporting a good cause. Good for limiting waste by repurposing vs buying new. Ive recently purchased light fixtures, vinyl flooring, paint and other supplies with good results.

So glad to have a ReStore on the west side of town! This is my regular stop for home maintenance bargains. Stock moves quickly so grab that bargain when you see it. Chances are it will be gone in a week.

They have great deals. Stocked my kitchen with new appliances for probably half the price of a store. Just have to be willing to check back for deals.

This place is beyond fantastic. We always try here before going to a retail chain. And more often than not, we find what we need.

We were looking for flooring and found a lot of good choices. It wasnt long before someone arrived to talk about how to install, tools needed and other great advice. Depending on what you are looking for, this is a great place to check first.

This was our first time visiting the Urbandale location. This location had a larger selection of what we were looking for, and is a great complement to the East side store.We were in the market for a new refrigerator, and the East Des Moines store really didnt have what we needed. We went over to this location and quickly found what we needed. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.In the future, the East store will still get most of our business, but we wont be ignoring the Urbandale location anymore!
