Hubby and I visited for the first time and it wasnt busy for a Saturday night. Likely because todays game was away. We started with tuna dip and baked avocado for appetizers. Both were good, but we preferred the avocado. Hubby got the cheeseburger and I got the catch of the day which was Swordfish on Alfredo pasta. My dish was nice, the cheeseburger was OK. In all, it was a nice night. I felt this would be a better lunch stop than dinner.Cocktails were good, blueberry Mule and jalapeño margarita did not disappoint. Our server was also kind.

So..they dont have much on the menu. Their drinks are pretty good though. If youre look for food dont go here. Its okay...lacks flavor in my opinion. Looks really pretty though. If you wanna drink and watch some foot ball I recommend this place!

The hubby and I stopped here for some brunch on our way back to Mississippi. The good was good and my husband loved the burger. I had the breakfast burrito with a side of grits (not pictured). The grits were so creamy, flavorful and delicious. I wish there was a little note on their menu but what we did have was great. I do not recommend the mimosas. It was all champagne and very bitter. I had to order a glass of $5 orange juice (wasn’t happy about the price) just to be able to drink my mimosa. I would visit here again!

It was a nice atmosphere. The food and the service was good also. Our waiter constantly checked on us also. The only complaint was the fries were not hot but they were still good.

Stopped in for breakfast even before the restaurant was open. You can get some drinks from the adjacent coffee shop, and they will serve food. If you’re not up for one of their five entrées, just order some sides, like a couple eggs, their excellent, thick bacon, or the children’s waffles, what I ordered. The perfect food after a nice morning run.

The place was very busy and packed with way too many people. They allow people to stand next to the tables as they are waiting on the bar to open up, so you constantly have people bumping your table while youre trying to eat. They had no Seafood in the building, which is a lot of their menu. Because the new owner does not like the deserts that they had on the menu, now they do not have any desserts. They also do not have the capabilities of making all drinks on the menu. If I could give no stars, I would.

Plain and simple, I did not enjoy the vagrant eating their dinner with me on the patio tonight. After owning a business in this town, not one block from this place, for ten years. I know a vagrant when I see one.Granted this restaurant does a wonderful charitable food truck during lunchtime that gives people in need food. I didn’t pay to be a part of that experience.I will add the manager and staff seemed very inexperienced in dealing with these type situations. If you have been in the restaurant business long enough you should know how to handle this. Please correct these issues.This was around 8 pm, Thursday.This doesn’t require a response.Talk to your staff.

Simple menu well executed. Only five entre choices but you will find something you like. The chicken schnitzel was juicy and tasty.

Food was good. I liked the salad that came with your meal. Mostly plain looking inside but had interesting ceiling with lights hanging down. Service was OK. I will go back Probably. We sat in the back by the kitchen but I would recommend sitting up front by the window so if you can.

I popped into FIVE for their Sunday Jazz Brunch. The vibe was very smooth and chill. The waitstaff was wonderful and very friendly. I ordered the shrimp and grits with I absolutely loved. I was also told that the burger on the brunch menu is a hit, Ill have to try it out next time.

Fish of the day was really good, great flavor and not over cooked. Came out hot and fresh! I sat outside under the awning during the rain. The interior is really nice but I just preferred being outside tonight. Worth a try for any date night or simply bumming it like me

Ive reviewed Five Bar before. Suffice it to say my favorite spot in Tuscsloosa when I drive between Birmingham and New Orleans. Great Shrimp and Grits and Chicken and Waffles. The jazz on Sunday was smooth and very cool. Great staff and service. Love Five Bar

Fun place to eat with good food. Five of everything on the menu; my favorites are the Uptown Chicken appetizer, the Panéed Chicken, and the Cheeseburger. Pretty much everything is great though. This place is usually crowded, and I would expect a wait on weekends. Also, the bar can be loud, but we tend to sit outside instead. I definitely recommend FIVE to anyone wanting a fun, upbeat atmosphere with delicious food. Prices can be steep, 2 people with drinks and an appetizer can be about $60.

Really kinda torn between 4 and 5 stars, food was delicious, bread pudding? AMAZING. Great atmosphere and the waitress was as sweet as youd expect. I have to knock it for one reason and that is value, my coworker got the Gulf Platter, which market price with the daily special of swordfish brought it to $32, the swordfish portion was tiny, about double the size of my thumb. For that, shrimp, fried oysters and fries, $32 seems pretty steep. They do great work here though and my bone in pork chop with mashed potatoes and salad was phenomenal, so just be conscious of your budget and appetite and youll be rating it 5 stars

Excellent food and atmosphere. Wait staff was helpful. I got a steak with mashed potatoes and my wife had the bone-in porkchop with macaroni and cheese. Steak was well prepared and seasoned. It was a little on the expensive side but a great experience overall.

I got fried chicken and I enjoyed it, skin was crispy and chicken juicy. My friend got the burger and he was not impressed, the bread was no fresh and there was no “wow” component to the burger. Service was great and quick, it didn’t take long for food to come out. highly recommend this place

Went with family ( all over 21 ) after game and had a great meal and great time. Only offer 5 entrees + a special ranging this night from a seafood to a gumbo to a high end burger. No one was disappointed!! Not my first trip and won’t be my last! Enjoy! Highly recommended.

Not fussy at all, with lots of aged wood and exposed brick and the Alice in Wonderland collection of crazy chandeliers hanging all over the ceiling.We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday for an early dinner before a concert. The place was almost empty but by the time we left around 6:30 it was nearly full.The food was good. The menu is pretty short but what is there tastes great. We tried the smoked tuna dip with pita and the Asian chicken for appetizers. Both were very flavorful.I had the paneed chicken and it was incredible. So tender! If you like fried chicken it is not to be missed. Everyone else had cheeseburgers which were cooked just right. The toasted buns were a perfect combo of fluffy and crisp and the honey mustard they gave to go with the fries had a little kick - horseradish? Wasabi? that added something exciting. All the meals also came with a side salad - goat cheese, walnuts, apples and a viniagrette - not your average side salad at all!

This is not the place if you like to have an extensive menu. I understand that its called Five because they basically have five entree choices. We started with the Uptown Chicken app; delicious! That was a lot for two of us, so we split the Gulf Coast platter. The waiter was kind enough to split the dish onto two plates and there was a lot of food!

Good place, but they need to bring back their pork chop. I had the paneed chicken. It was good, but i was missing the pork chop. The uptown chicken is a great appetizer and I will be getting it again.

Overall, Id say Five is overpriced for the quality of food they serve. Its not a bad place by any means (theres rarely a bad place, just bad pricing). As such, I find it way excessive that their shrimp pasta costs what it does, when you can walk exactly 2 minutes around the block to have a similar delicious shrimp pasta at Central Mesa.With that in mind, when I go to Five, I always have their burger. Its well cooked, the salad that comes with it is excellent (and helps justify the overall bit-too-high prices at this establishment) and the fries are also good. Considering their quite limited menu - as theyre going with the Five of everything theme - its a good place to come eat, but Id either only order the burger, or wait until they wake up and bring prices down. Their food just isnt good enough to justify the amount theyre trying to charge you.

I’m a tourist. I came to America for 3 months to travel and see America first hand. I been here for 2 months already and never had a problem getting drinks with my passport. It shows I’m 24 years of age and it’s valid but this location refused to serve me alcohol. Would never go there again. Would give them zero stars if I could.

Small menu, but big on flavor. Decent selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. I ordered the baked avocado appetizer and a small house salad as my main meal, and both were excellent. My son had the Sunday night fried chicken with mac and cheese. He raved about the mac and cheese. He said the chicken was tender and juicy, but a bit lacking in flavor. My husband ordered the pan-sauteed chicken with mashed potatoes and thought it was very tasty. Both entrees came with a small house salad. Portions were very generous. Service was good. Would recommend!

I really like their simple menu with delicious food. They have five items. The opposite feeling of you get at Cheesecake Factory. Not good for super picky folks. It is hard to get seated since this place is popular but my food tasted great.Theres a location in Birmingham as well. Service was great.

The ‘surf & turf’ with blackened shrimp was delicious! Everyone in our party was very satisfied with their dishes and drinks. Mostly a younger crowd but saw several others of all ages. The wait was about an hour on Saturday evening. Only disappointment was that we were never offered drinks while we waited, otherwise the service was excellent.

My first visit will NOT be my last. Awesome pineapple jalapeno margaritas and shrimp platter. Atmosphere is second to none, as are the staff

Very different salad... absolutely loved it! In fact five of us all ordered something different and we all lived it. Atmosphere very cool. Like all brick interiors though it was extremely loud.

Ill just keep this simple. This place was hyped up by a few of my more trendy friends. If youre looking for a swanky atmosphere this will fit the bill. Unfortunately, the food was very mediocre and the prices unbelievably high. If you want either a ritzy atmosphere or great food there are many better places downtown. I cant emphasize enough how terribly priced the restaurant is for what you get. If they halved the prices (yes half) It might be on my list of restaurants Id go between but until then, I comfortably say there is just no appeal to this place for how its set up.Also- when I went there we had a party of 8 and all ordered a different dish. We all had virtually the same impression after we left so i can pretty safely say its not just what I ordered.

Coffee is delicious, service was alright. I got the chicken and waffles, but they sat under the warmer for so long that both the fried chicken and waffles were really soggy and unappetizing. Dissapointed in the food quality given the price ($17)

A real treasure I found strolling through town on a summer night.The menu is rather focused on a reduced number of items but the flavor and composition was amazing. They only offered one kind of desert that evening but fixed to reflect my allergies just fine.Delicious all around. Nice service and a great choice of southern food and beer.Try it with an open mind :) and maybe sit outside..

I love FIVE!! It is so good I dont think I have ever gotten bad food here! The drinks are good the food is good the stuff in there is awesome to look at the workers are nice its an all around 100 for me! I love it! & I love they dont take reservation!! Might be the only one but I love that about them!

Wonderful quirky venue with courteous and timely service. Our party of 6 was seated without a wait for a Saturday lunch. Recommend getting there by 11:30 because they are a popular lunch spot. Food was tasty with generous portions. Enjoyed the art lining the walls and the eclectic mix of lighting fixtures. Will definitely go back for more!

Monday after work Xmas. Great atmosphere. Beautiful place. I will say its pricey for what you get. $9 dollars for a half of an avacado stuffed with some mixture. It was good but its like paying $9 dollars for a half of a stuffed egg at Easter. Im not a cheapo but come on. You used to be served 3 halves for that price. The cheapest thing is the burger coming in at $14. Now we had good service. Staff was friendly. So pull out the credit card if you want to go. I didnt even mention the drinks. Maybe two credit cards.

I’ve been here twice now, and it was absolutely amazing each time. Both times, I had excellent servers and food. The menu is pretty limited, but the food is delicious. I also had the bread pudding dessert on both occasions (one strawberry and one white chocolate), which was easily the most impressive dessert I’ve ever had.

Jazz brunch is fantastic on Sundays. Its always busy here so plan accordingly. The coffee shop is newer so I recommend checking it out. I enjoyed the cold brew.

A great multi-faceted experience! With a the daytime Java Bar and night time restaurant/bar hybrid, 5 really offers everything you could ask for in one place. This place is constantly evolving as well, so learning with them as a customer is a wonderful experience.

Prices above average. The experience was awesome as well as service. However, I had a pork chop that while it did taste good, was almost too tuff to cut with my knife. My sons meal was excellent (jalapeno shrimp). Apps and drinks were great.

I have gone before and went again last night and I strongly believe that my second time was much more phenomenal than my first. I truly had such a lovely experience and the vibe I get from the place is so cozy and calm. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is even contemplating going.

Interesting concept, the food is delicious

Interesting place with lots to look at. Comfortable and warm even though you can tell they are trying to be more upscale than they or the clientele want to be. Really appreciate their late night full menu. While the menu might be seen by some as limited, it covers all the basics and our food was well prepared and plated.

So fabulous it is unbelievable. Salad, chicken, hamburgers were all great. Cutest little server took care of us. Only thing missing is 5 desserts.

Very torn because FIVE was one of the first good restaurant in Tuscaloosa and for a while it was the best restaurant in Tuscaloosa, but not anymore. The food is still great, but the restaurant service has become unbearable. The restaurant is always busy but waiting 3 hours to be served food at a place with only five entrees is absurd. The waitress assured me that my order hadnt been forgotten even though clearly it had, and the weak attempt to smooth things over by offering a free order of beignets (because someone ordered them and didnt want them) did not help at all. Also if this was the only time service was poor I wouldnt complain. If youre looking for good food look no further as long as you can stand the long wait times poor service.

Really neat inside. Lots to look at. I loved all of the chandeliers. I visited during jazz brunch on a Sunday and overall had a pretty good experience. Like others have said it is a very limited menu. 5 (sticking with a theme eh?) entree options but I feel like there should be something for everyone. My breakfast burger was $14 which I felt was a tad steep and it took a little longer to come out (close to a half hour from ordering to it making it to my table) but it did taste pretty good.

Great dinner. However, the menu is limited, but as long as you know that before hand you should be good. Interesting choices. I tried to order a sazerac, but the waitress told us the bartender said they were out. Which means he didnt know how to make one, so that was a let down.
