Exceptional work on my 1973 Guild D40; with the setup and fret work, it is amazing how much improvement theres been in its playability. In stead, of feeling like I might have to give up playing my first love because its so hard to play, I am able to play more than I have in ages without the pain. I am very pleased and grateful for the excellent work done on my beloved instrument.
My Martin had a loose binding in the waist, which was where Brad had guessed it was when I first talked to him on the phone. I also asked about other adjustments and went with his advice on doing a truss rod and saddle height/radius adjustment. After checking it out in person, he made the saddle adjustment, which fixed my issues (no truss rod adjustment needed). The new adjustments feel great and binding repair looks extremely cleans. The final price also came out lower than what he initially mentioned it could be had all the work we discussed been needed, so Bonus Points there. Will definitely be going back to Brad in the future when needed!
Brad and really did a fantastic job on an Epiphone ET290 I had in. New nut, a large rectangle fret marker replacement and even a small fretboard reglue. The guitar feels alive again!
Jess has replaced pickups, wiring harnesses, installed nuts, and leveled frets on two guitars of mine and she always does an excellent job. I highly recommend!
I had them work on my Martin HD28V and the results were nothing short of amazing! Brad James is absolutely incredible. I have been burned by luthiers in the past and that is actually the reason I was introduced to Brad. He was recommended to me by a friend who had seen his work. I could tell almost immediately that he respected my guitar for what it was and was not trying to make a fast buck. He treated it like it was a piece of art and seemed genuinely honored to work on it. The guitar sounds and plays wonderfully, and I cant express enough just how satisfied I am! Great job! I wont be letting anyone else touch my guitars! Thanks GTS!
Jess was very knowledgeable and honest, with extremely fair pricing. Helped me fix my floyd rose! Thank you!!
Did a great job repairing my guitar. Theyre real craftsmen.
They fixed my guitar and held it for almost a week because I forgot to pick it up. Great place to have a guitar worked on and very knowledgeable people
GTS did a great job working on my strat. It sounded dead and it was kind of a mess when I bought it. GTS got ahold of it and brought it back to life. It plays great now and sounds amazing. Thanks, guys!
Quality guitar technicians....facts!!!
GTS is my go-to for all guitar service needs. Jess has saved the day for me multiple times (and ended up saving me a lot of money by doing so too). Shes great about communicating the issues and options. Very grateful for her and the team at GTS, Thank you all!
Are very passionate about what the do, fixing guitars, and such. Would have given them 5 stars, but they are very slow to finishing mine. Luckily Im in no rush, and am very glad to have them taking great care with my guitar.
Steve Doc Hickerson has been laying his oh so gifted hands on my electric and acoustic guitars since the early 1990s. Each and every time he took time to explain the work in detail. He also advised me of all options available to achieve the desired results (even if it meant a less profitable one for him)! I can wholeheartedly vouch for the high level of craftsmanship that Brad and his other tech (I cant remember their name right now) posses! GTS is simply the finest guitar repair shop in the Tulsa area.
Simply the best
Brad is my guy since he worked at Tulsa Guitar.
This is the most awesome little shop! The staff is excellent as well. I went in to see if they had an old classical style tuning peg and hardware and after scouring the bins he found one and tried to give it to me for free! I will definitely be returning here for anything I need guitar maintenance related.
Brad is a genius. Incredibly patient with me, and taught me quite a bit before and after the service. Highly recommend him and his team of guitar aficionados. My guitar has never played this well or sounded this good.
Brought a bass in here, Jess gave me a run down of work it definitely needed and other work it mightve needed. She did excellent work, bass plays great now! Would definitely recommend!
I took my 1964 Gibson to Steve back in 2013.Steve did a fine job of dressing the frets, fret replacement/repair, and adjusting the neck (others struggled with this). It sounds and plays better than I can ever remember. Steve, if youve ever considered a Colorado vacation, I need some fret work done on my Takamine...my door is open! :-)
Steve Hickerson is one of the best guitar luthier‘s in the country in 45 years I have never met anyone more talented and knowledgeable, Guitar technical services are all top industry professionals.
Brad, Jeff, and Steve are wizards when it comes to instrument repair and set up. I actually brought in a luthier from Australia (Maurice Paul Guitars) to meet these guys and pick up some tips on how to best approach guitar set up. All of my guitars are maintained at this shop and they always feel and sound incredible every time. These are the only guys that I want working on my guitars in Oklahoma. Keep up the great work.
My new go-to shop for my guitars. Been there a few times. Affordable and quick turnaround! There was even a time I brought in my Taylor acoustic that was damaged from an accident. The binding was coming up and the body was cracking. The fix was detailed enough that the damage was barely noticeable and it played great.
Just bought a Gibson Les Paul and upon playing it for a week or so decided it probably needed a setup. I contacted GTS and got Brad on the phone. We discussed what I needed and the price. When I finally brought it in Brad was up front and when I told him my story he said he remembered talking to me.I dropped it off on a Monday and by Tuesday it was ready to go. The guitar plays like a dream now. I couldnt put it down that night after I got it home. Brad even remembered my name when I came in to pick it up. These guys have a customer for life. They also came highly recommended by a locally famous musician, so I figured I was leaving my baby in good hands. He was right. Thanks GTS and especially Brad for looking over and fixing my guitar up so its a pleasure to play now.
I brought an old Les Paul type guitar to GTS for fret work.Jeff did an over-the-top job on it. He found ways to improve it that I hadnt thought of and Ive been playing for a long time. The action is as smooth as butter now.
Steve Hickerson is the absolute best! A guitar wizard who has done it all and is super friendly to work with. Steve did some amazing mods to my telecaster and its never sounded and played better. I promise you wont be disappointed by going to GTS.
Does very high quality work! I would recommend...
Only place I would take my guitar for work. These guys have the knowledge, expertise, and experience.
Great work at a fair price. Brought my Martin back to perfect intonatiin.
These guys are great, and I recommend them! I took my Epiphone SG in because it was having some issues with fret-buzz. I was helped by Jeff, who looked at my guitar with me, and was quickly able to diagnose several possible causes. String-wear on the frets was probably the biggest factor, as was a general slight unevenness in the height of the frets along the length of the fretboard. The guitar needed a few other adjustments as well, including a neck adjustment. Jeff was able to file/sand the frets down to even-out their heights and remove the string-wear, and then did a full setup, including neck adjustment, intonation, and cleaning of the electronics. I had the guitar back in 3 days, which is insanely fast turnaround time for this kind of work in Tulsa! The price for the job was very reasonable, and the quality of work was excellent! The guitar plays better now than it ever has. This was my first experience with GTS, but theyll definitely be my first choice when I need work done on my guitars in the future!
Best service around. Had a LR Baggs Anthem Sl installed into my brand new Guild GAD-125 Mahogany acoustic guitar. Service was quick and the installation was superb. Brad explained in great detail what he did, including adding a metal battery clip into my guitar so I wouldnt have to deal with the less than desirable battery bag that LR Baggs provides with the pickup system. (I had told him that I hated the battery bag and he came up with a solution) When I got the guitar home the pickup sounded great, perfect balance across the strings but I have an old wrist injury that causes me some trouble so the action was a little too high for my comfort. I brought it back in right before closing and they adjusted the action to what I consider to be perfect without any buzzing or intonation issues without charging me any extra and had it ready by the next day!!! These guys are top notch. Would recommend to anyone.
Fair price for only work needed.
Had Jeff at GTS build and new nut for my 96 Tex-Mex Strat. He also crowned and leveled all my frets and I couldnt be happier with the work and turnaround time!
Got a rare, vintage, Supro Arlington off ebay, it unfortunately suffered a headstock break during shipping, I was heartbroken.........GTS made it all better!Highly recommend these guys, you will not be disappointed, they are passionate about their work and I respect that. Thanks Brad!
Ive always dealt with Brad & hes Great. Ive got a few American Strats & hes got em Perfect! If they ever sound bad, its cuz of me, not the Guitar. I travel from NW Ark 2 hrs, But no one else istouchin them! Thanks Guys Billyclub, Club Tattoo, Springdale Ark
I posted a bad review on these guys they called me and said they would do whatever to fix the problem i appreciate that, but i just dont have time i will be out of state for the next year,in all fairness the dead fret could have developed with all the humidity we have had,but the short was never fixed or addressed, everybody has a bad day.they did offer to make it right, but i feel uneasy and do not have time, thanks for trying,
Jess was right there and knew what to do. I could not have asked for a more favorable experience.
Great, fast and friendly service. I have had many instruments worked on here and they have gone above and beyond every time.
Still the #1 place for Guitar service and setup. Great Job!
Excellent workmanship, knowledge and customer service.
Very knowledgable staff!
With all 14 guitars we use for our 2 hour Beatles show, Motown sound, Steve Miller, Eagles, Allman Bros etc...Steve, Jeff and Brad are the ONLY people we will allow to touch our instruments....have used these guys for years and will continue as long as they will put up with us!!!!
Excellent in every way! They pay attention to absolutely every detail and have the best service and knowledge ... Without a doubt they are the best ...
