This is a very versatile restaurant. There are pages and pages of options on the menu!!! There’s an all day breakfast menu with options such as omelets. There’s wraps, sandwiches and dinners! My husband and I split a turkey burger on whole grain bread with mozzarella cheese, grilled mushrooms and spinach! It was so good!!! We ordered from the healthy choices menu, but we decided to add French fries to the sandwich!!! It was all very tasty!! The menu had Greek undertones on the food choices. There are also plenty of delicious desserts! Our server was very sweet!!! The owner was very nice, too! He talked about the difficulties of staying afloat during Covid.
Was seated right away. Waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was inviting.My husband and I ordered grilled chicken breast with baked potatoes and broccoli. The meal was excellent. No complaints.Thanks you for your hospitality and the well maintained establishment was a breath of fresh air.👍🌹

Great food! Nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. I had the eggs Benedict Florentine. Very tasty! Tried my husbands gluten free pancakes with blueberries and enjoyed that as well.
For a diner the food is typically good. Definitely had better but if youre looking for a late night bite to eat you cant go wrong.
Great flavor and good sized portions! The relaxing atmosphere made it a perfect place to stop and eat. A welcoming and personable staff makes you feel at home. The server wasnt very attentive, but was quick once we let her know what we needed. Well be back for breakfast......
I enjoyed my experience at Brookside Diner. Its diner food, lets not pretend that its exceptional in any way. It was however a very clean establishment and the food was not bad at all. If you are looking for a reliable diner, this is a great option for you.

Used to be my go to diner....but they cant honor what they offer. I get the sirloin croissant and its supposed to come with brown gravy .... which was not included and I ordered extra on the side willing to pay - but didnt get that either see pic... it SAYS it comes with brown gravy - they refuse to provide without an additional charge. Guess Im following John to East Hanover Diner.
This is the best diner by far in the Whippany and E Hanover area. People go to the other staples but miss out not only on a gracious host with Yanni but amazing food and service! Great proces and big selection! No one goes home hungry with their large portions!!! A must visit if you live in the area. ❤❤
I am from PA where diners are awesome so its been difficult for me the past 16 years in NJ to find a good one (You NJ people seem to think this state has the best and its not even close). The food here has always been good. The staff is excellent and we have never had to wait for food, drinks or the check unlike other local establishments...

We were one of 4 tables in the entire place and to get our apps took 40mins from the time we ordered. We were given excuses. Our meal took another 20 mins to arrive and we were met with more excuses. Spoke to the manager and he actually walked away as we were speaking with him. If food had been AMAZING and worth the wait this review would have been different but basic items were burned and a club sandwhich barely had bacon. Insult to injury was waiting ANOTHER 10 min in the NIW EMPTY restaurant for the check. Worst diner experience living in Jersey for 50 yrs!

Terrific! I have eaten at many a diner in my 52 years and this was by far one of the best diner meals I have ever had. I had Eggs Benedict Florentine with feta. I asked for my home fries well done. The eggs were done perfectly and the combination of the spinch and the cheese was excellent. The potatoes were perfection. They shaved the potatoes and they were done just right. Brown and crispy, not mushy like some diners do theirs. I highly recommend this diner.

Its ok felt rushed to leave no one was waiting and they werent anywhere near 25%. Hamburgers were excellent onion rings and potato salad also excellent. They didnt know how to do stuffed French toast at all. Very nice waitress.

First restaurant I went to post COVID restaurant restrictions were lifted. We sat outside, beautiful day. Staff so nice. Let my friend and I sit and talk and didn’t rush us to leave.

Good food and reasonable prices
It looks and feels like a typical Suburban Diner. Family oriented and the staff is very friendly. Who is fine when the complete dinners AR priced between 1395 and 1995 for prime rib. You actually get the rib. I think their method of cooking the prime rib is at very low temperature all week and day and night you even get dessert. For a relatively inexpensive meals thats what side is the place to go.
Good healthy selection on the menu for those who want to watch their weight.
This restaurant is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. Whenever I I need a special dinner, this restaurant comes straightaway to my head. fresh and diverse food and a rich menu.helpful staff members, and great atmosphere. And very important, the cost is good. I recommend this place with no doubt.

I admire this restaurant! They prepare first-cleass dishes, they have a rich menu, The chef in that restaurant is a real pro, I enjoy very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are consistently tasty, the attitude towards the clients is nice. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend it with no hesitation.

I was served furry bleu cheese crumbles for my salad. My waitress was horrified and apologetic, and then the manager came over to tell me bleu cheese is supposed to be moldy. Yeah, I know its supposed to have blue mold. It isnt supposed to be FURRY and practically walking off the table due to the colony of cultures growing on top of it, sir. He did not offer me anything other than do you want feta instead. No. I dont trust anything coming out of your kitchen after that, especially after you tried to tell me that the fluffy furry bleu cheese is supposed to be like that. When I went up to the counter to tell him I would like to pay for the drinks we had actually consumed but we werent eating the food and therefore not paying for it, he still had our full tab ready for us on the screen. I paid for our drinks, tipped our waitress (she was lovely - friendly and attentive), and left without eating. Had the manager actually cared and actually seemed apologetic about the fact that he served a customer spoiled food, I might not be leaving this review, but he clearly had no desire to attempt to rectify the situation and didnt seem terribly surprised that there was a cup of fuzzy, inappropriately moldy cheese on my table.

More of a restaurant than a diner. Was working in town for 3 days found this place after a long hard days work, on my way back to hotel room had dinner here my first night. Very nice, very clean, I am a low scale guy I preferred the Whippany diner about a half mile down the road.

I ordered the Chicken Stack which included a generous amount of grilled chicken, grilled zucchini, red peppers and eggplant. It had a drizzle of a light vinaigrette sauce. It was healthy and absolutely delicious! I ate the whole thing! My lunch date ordered the Portobello salad dressed with a vinaigrette as well. A generous portion and very tasty. The only disappointment was the $3.40 for two plates of smaller than usual, pitas.The diner is quaint with a nice family atmosphere. Very nice people. Our waitress was not as attentive but was very sweet. I highly recommend this diner and will return myself if Im in the area. Enjoy.

The best thing i can say is that we were seated right away. Down hill from there. Service wasnt good, food was not good. Both my wife and i felt lime our food was reheated from frozen. Server never came back to see how we were doing after being served. The only bit of concern from anyone was from a possible manager or supervisor who cleared our plates. They noticed we hardly touched our food. To their credit they seemed concerned but we just wanted the check to get out and never come back.

Was there for breakfast last weekend. They are still working out the kinks. We had egg dishes which were so-so. I guess they are know for their French Toast. So will try again. Thought their prices were high for what we got. Never saw the owner if there was one. Hopefully he was in the kitchen. But for opening a new place ownership should be on the floor connecting with the customer and getting feedback.

Food and service was very good and the prices were inexpensive. Very clean and right on Route 10 in whipany. If youre coming from the west it is on the westbound side of route 10 just before the over pass. If youre coming from route 10 east, you must go up a little further to the shopping center and make a u turn and head west. Family friendly and kind of cozy

Place was pretty empty had a bit of a wait for a waiter to get to us not sure why, if it wasnt busy at all. Had a hair in my rice but they had no problem giving me a new one. Lasagna is so amazing!!!

Me and my wife, had a late dinner We asked to split a California cheese burger and the waitress brought it out on two plates . which was very nice the food was very good.
We stopped here for a quick snack. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. There was a good selection of soups and appetizers.
We needed a big order last minute and the owner and staff were AMAZING and made everything happen super fast (AND it tasted good!). Also, super friendly service. Cant say enough great things about this place.
Born and raised in Jersey, but now live in northern Virginia. I MISS DINERS!!!! So on a recent trip to northern Jersey, we stopped in at Brookside Diner. Granted, we only order matzo ball soup, but it was PERFECT! (We were really hoping to stop in at Union Square Diner by Kean University for the greatest matzo ball soup, but we just didnt have the time.) We were pleasantly surprised by Brookside: the aura of the stereotypical diner, with the great food to match.
Reasonably good diner food in a classic diner setting. I visited for dinner one evening and came back the next morning for breakfast. This is a pretty quiet place with just about everything youd expect in a diner. The food wasnt stellar and the prices were a little high, but I will certainly visit again the next time Im in the area on business.

Been coming here for several years when I’m in the area and found the food very good and pricing was also reasonable. Never had a bad anything here and I go out of my way to stop here. Ive been going to this diner for the past 20 years since I was a kid and moved into the area. Its your typical good NJ diner. Ive come to see their food as a 2nd home cooked meal.

A friend took me there twice in the past few weeks. French Dip (both times) was delicious, hence, why I ordered it again. My friend is a regular customer and there is a friendly banter between her and the staff. Serving size was large (took leftovers home), order came out timely, and wasnt rushed to leave once bill was put on the table.
French Onion soup had hardly any onions & was served luke warm. The prime rib was very veiny & chewy. Had to chew & chew & at the end had to put aside a lot of chewed pieces. These items were not the same quality as previous times. Nothing was served very hot but only luke warm.The cake was dried out. It was not moist as the previous times.It was cold inside with no heat.

Love this place and drive far to get here but worth the trip. Every meal Ive had here has been absolutely delicious. I just ordered the the burger with Taylor ham, egg and cheese and it was the best burger by far.
