EXTREMELY disappointed using this company! Negative 5 stars would be too good here. My vehicle is 10 x worse than it was when I took it in. The things I took my vehicle in for are exactly the same way they were before I took it in and spent over $1000 to have them repair. I feel taken advantage of, scammed, taken, whatever you want to call it. When I visited with them about it, they want another $150 to diagnose more issues. Im not sure they know exactly what they are doing and just collecting $ for things. I am not a mechanic, so I do not know if they actually worked on the vehicle or not. I do plan to take to another garage to see if the parts are new they claim to have replaced. If not, I will be calling my attorney for sure. For anyone reading this, there has to be a better option than this business. They seem nice enough, they act as though they are wanting to help and they are quick to take your money without hesitation. I would just steer clear like my gut told me in the first place, but I went against it and here I sit with a car that doesnt run, my son was almost hit by a semi-truck because the vehicle stalled, which was why it was taken in to be repaired in the first place. Luckily no wreck, but I will NOT be taking the vehicle back to this business for anything ...ever! Do yourself a favor, avoid a big headache and stay way away from this place!
Anna & the guys make is so smooth & convenient to get my car serviced because they offer to take & pick up me at work while my car is being serviced. No asking friends or co-workers for rides. Also the car maintenance website is user friendly & has all my cars history in one place no more papers stacking up in the glove box. Im one happy customer!!
Great communication, Both verbal and written, Expertise, Knowledge and workman ship as good as it gets.
Honest and quality work. No high pressure, reasonable charges. They charged me $141 for a service Jackie Cooper quoted $605. Mercedes are expensive to work on wherever you take them, but VAP was reasonable and willing to discuss charges before work was done.
I recently bought a 2014 smart electric car. They did an amazing job with sending a text link to all the things they checked. They also did not upsell they even suggested one item was not needed. They worked with my car coverage policy and they came in way under my budget. A great place:)
Susan G./Tulsa OK. I googled repairs on Mini Coopers and found VAP Auto Service. I noticed excellent reviews and gave them a go. I drive a 2010 Mini Clubman S 6 spd manual and am very particular about details. They listened to me, assessed what was needed, even for future game plan. I spent $1250 and was very pleased at their professionalism. Travis, Sean and Joy did a stellar job. I would recommend and will use again. Thank you. Susan
Very nice staff. The techs were very professional. I found the prices a bit to steep for me. Im sure its well worth it. Lets face it Im cheap.
They take care of my mini coop. This last visit they had to replace some trim. They had to order the part but when it came in they were able to replace the trim in minutes and my mini looks great again.
Travis is true blue. Wont go anywhere else.
My Jaguar had been in and out of the dealership for 3 months and they could not fix it. They finally told me to just pick the car up (after telling me that it needed a new engine for a car with 39k miles). I then took the car to VAP for a second opinion. They had it for a week and fixed it! The car shifts as it should and no more service engine light appears. Very happy with the service and thankful that they were able to save my car.
The water pump suddenly went out on my 1997 Honda Civic, so I had the vehicle towed to VAP, a place that Id previously never even heard of.A day later, the shop called me at home to say my car was ready to go, but I told them that unfortunately I had no way to get there since they were currently in possession of my one and only automobile. Now, at that point, they certainly COULD have said not our problem, buddy, hung up the phone, and forced me to hitchhike or pay for a taxi. But no. The owner Travis enthusiastically offered to pick me up from my home, nearly 30 minutes away from the shop. We had a very pleasant conversation the whole drive, talking at first about the long-distance road cycling he does relatively close to where I lived. I told him how I was thinking about getting into cycling myself, and our conversation then branched off onto other topics. But I mention this because when we arrived at the shop, Travis took out a business card, wrote his personal cell phone number on the back, and told me to call whenever I was ready to join him for a bike ride. How great is that?!Also, for anyone thinking I got the pretty girl treatment, you should know that I am a straight and frighteningly ugly male. Travis is just a genuinely affable people person who clearly enjoys his job. Combine that with the problem-free mechanical work that his grease monkeys performed on my car, and its worthy of 5 stars. However (!), I do have to agree with some of the other reviewers who said that the prices were high. Theyre excessively high. So I had to dock them 1 star for that...and only that.I never did call Travis about the bike ride (nor could I have kept up to begin with). But I did keep his business card in my wallet as a reminder to write this review. And just to show you how often I clean out my wallet, this exchange happened 7 friggin years ago! Better late than never, I suppose.Im in a different state now with a different car, but this mans generosity left a lasting impression on me. Maybe that will matter to you, the reader. Maybe not. But I hope that Travis and company are doing well, and that this review is still an accurate portrayal of him and his shop (with the exception of those high prices, of course).
Got me right in when I needed it. Got the part and put it in. So appreciated that as this was not a scheduled fix.
I have a Mercedes SL550 which can be very expensive to maintain however, VAP is much more reasonable to have work on my car than the dealership by far. Furthermore, they seem to have more expertise and knowledge than the dealership. I also believe they are very honest people which is difficult to find today. I highly recommend them.
Professional Automotive Technician!!As a loyal customer of VAP Auto for over three years, the owner, Travis, to be one of the most reliable and knowledgeable mechanics Ive come across. He has gone above and beyond other competitors to stay #1 and providing an excellent analysis on what he charges for parts and labor, bar none! As far as knowledge with the automotive background, he has extensive mind-blowing knowledge to share that I consistently keep learning from him! Travis has a staff of mechanics and a customer service front office that provide friendly atmosphere towards myself and other customers that come in on a regular basis for auto repair! I strongly recommend VAP AUTO in Tulsa USA to become your personal auto repair shop as I will continue to be! A shout out to Travis, his family, and staff - THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
VAP has done a great job every time when working on my Audi A5 and at a price that is more affordable then other shops.
Great service. Was quick n got my car back to me.
With great sadness Im having to write this. Ive taken several vehicles to VAP over the course of 5 years. Now, I can understand that sometime liability can get in the way of great service. But accountability should be the case.Over the past 3 weeks several cars were burglarized at their shop, which I understand happens. But the interior damages I would believe could be handled, I called upset due to all of my stereo system being stolen and upholstery torn to shreds at the rear of my car. Its great to know that they have interior cameras, but exterior cameras would alleviate the he said, she said of damages done, or property stolen.I realize because of a club the area is an AT RISK location, but with high prices for repairs you would think the small take out of insurance for just the damages (due to me not having receipts for stereo equipment) would be sufficient enough to keep the customer happy. I realize unforseen issues like why my odometer stopped working because of hitch issues, but lack of exterior security and lack of accountability are upsetting in the least. You take you car to be fixed, not to have it broken into, torn up, and things not working anymore. Its just one after the other frustration. At the end of the day, my car works remarkably after their repair.I have to give this a 1 star due to my damages and stolen property SUPERSEDING the cost of my repair $876 now Im down almost $1800 including having to find an upholster and rivets to put my trunk back together. I can only hope that it doesnt snow now, as my car had already been broken into before.Update: Car has been 100% repaired I am now using RC Auto Repair as they are a better rated shop, and much more reputable.
Great place to take a VW or any European import. They treat you and your car very well. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. If you live in Tulsa and own an import, this is the place.
I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. Three stars is too low but four seems high. VAP auto is a great shop. The people there genuinely know what they are talking about and they are capable of very good work. What hurts them is their organization. When i first took my truck to them they were amazing. The battery kept dying and they figured out the exact problem and took care of it. They even let me hang out and wait.I took my truck in after that and they forgot they had it. So they didnt look at it all day. I got it back to them and they did fix the issue but they seemed to be scrambling. The issue was pretty much fixed but my cruise control no longer worked after that. And the cover wasnt screwed back in all the way.So if they actually take the time to document everything and put the time into focusing on the issue they can fix it. They just get in a hurry and scramble and overlook things depending on how busy they are. But they do know what they are talking about the majority of the time.Their customer service is great. That never falters. They are very open and transparent. Just make sure they are focusing on you and check in.
This is my preferred auto shop in Tulsa. The staff is very open and transparent when discussing the needed repairs on my vehicle and were very hospitable while I waited for a ride after I dropped off my vehicle. The staff is very knowledgeable and also were able to explain the repairs in terms I could understand. I recommend them to everyone I know.
Drove my Equinox through a pool of water during a particularly heavy thunderstorm and hydro-locked the motor. Another shop told me I would need a new engine, but a friend recommended I try VAP Auto Shop first. Spoke to Travis at VAP to see if he could save the engine. Towed my car to VAP who agreed it was hydro-locked. The cylinders were completely full of water. They pulled the plugs and rotated the motor by hand, draining all of the water out and getting the engine running good again. Ill always be grateful to the guys at VAP for saving my cars engine!
Had RPM issues with my 2004 Volvo which another shop could not locate or remedy and recommended VAP. They were on it and repaired it very quickly, within the day! I highly recommend them.
We sent our car to these guys asking for help with motor mounts. They did nothing for the motor mounts that both needed replacing. They did however charge over $75 to top off the coolant reservoir. They also came up with a list of $thousands of dollars worth of unnecessary repairs they said we needed. We left having paid over $100 for nothing but brake and coolant fluids topped off with no improvements to vehicle performance.Totally took advantage of my wife. We took it to a knowledgeable shop, had the motor mounts replaced and now it runs fine no thanks to these folks.
Great peolpe
Id been told by another shop (Same Day Auto Repair) that my car would cost a MINIMUM of $3,800 to get it running again, that there were no other options for me. My husband and I spent two months struggling with the decision of either fixing it for nearly as much as it was worth, or just trashing it and spending money we REALLY dont have to buy a new car. Well we finally decided before we just trash it we should get a second opinion somewhere else. We read good things online about VAP auto shop and decided to give it a try. After my car had been there for about an hour, they called me and let me know that what the OTHER shop said was wrong with my car, was actually in perfect condition and didnt need to be fixed at all. All I needed was a chemical sealer! After the tests, labor and other costs, my car is now running smoothly after ONLY $200! I cant believe we almost blew nearly $4,000 when there was really a very simple solution to the problem. I dont know if Same Day Auto Repair honestly didnt KNOW this was an option, or if they were really just trying to screw me over, but either way, VAP Auto took GREAT care of us, and we will absolutely return for our future car needs. I promise you will not be disappointed by this place.
I just picked up my car from VAP and wow, what a great experience! I had a horrible blowout that did a lot of damage to my rear passenger door and bumper. It was real mess and I wasnt sure how well it could be repaired. VAP did a great job of taking care of me and even communicating with my insurance adjuster when they found out that extra work needed to be done. Now my car looks great, its like nothing ever happened.Ive been taking my cars (and my parents cars) to VAP for years now and Ive always been impressed with their work and the way they treat customers.
Wonderful auto shop Travis the owner cares about his customers and their cars. My little Mini Cooper has not been to any other shop since my husband and I bought the car last January. My car has had problems and Travis has done his best to get things fixed and replaced by the warranty company.
I dont like Review bomb droppers unless it is more than simply justified.I have used VAP long ago and was pleased. Recently I brought a car to them that had some issues, I had 3 things that needed attention, I was told when I brought it that it would be looked at right away, 3 weeks later with NO communication I was given a generic diagnoses that had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the original 3 items.. The so called service writer there has NO clue who you are, what car you have or even or even what the problem was, its like an international call to get your phone fixed, the conversation is so confusing you are left to think you dialed the wrong number. So, unless you have a year you can go with out your car, and are completely unconcerned about it being repaired I urge you to google a repair center that actually pays attention. over a month with my car, $218.00 of ?diagnosis so that I could leave there with lights blinking on and off and a car running horrible. *** This car ran great when it went there and barely made home after the invasion of incompetence.. I wont even drive by there again much less bring them a car... BAD BAD place... Believe that.
Has always taken care of my cars quickly. Friendly service and free WiFi so I could even keep working while I wait.
I brought in my 2001 325I BMW for a head job estimation of rapier three weeks in September of 2013 it took him 8 month I got it back mid May of 2014. lots of parts was missing when got it back it cause it to over heat again. I spend two times more then quoted I was quoted 2k we end up paying closed to 4k plus over 700 of towing fees because the car broke down the very next day in st Louis MO . I took him to court the Judge dismiss case because he had a attorney could not fight his own battles and said they did a bandage rapier and he told me it was not going to work. but that was not the case they left an important part out of the car that cause it to over heat the radiator was not secured and all the water leaked out. but my complaint is the amount of time it took he never showed empathy about the time he took keep leaving me for last to take care of other customer that was paying more for other jobs thats simply wrong and very bad customer services
They stand behind their work. 8 months ago they replaced the alternator on my vw and the bearing went. No cost to me and it was done in a few hours
Travis and his guys are excellent to deal with. Very knowledgeable and know what they are doing.
As a new employee Mike has over 16 years as a BMW Mercedes and Mini Cooper specialist with a local company, meticulous and customer driven to give your car the best care available
Only place i trust with all my car needs. from maintain, emergencies, and custom modification VAP is the best. Friendly, honest locally owned and operated. Cant get better than that!
Thought I would share my experience from a couple of years ago after being a customer for years and spending thousands of dollars. I had a 2004 Mercedes 500SL. I was in Arkansas and had a warning message to take the car to the shop. Because I was out of town I took it to the Mercedes dealer there. The issue was the SRS computer went out. While they had it I asked them to check out why the shifting was delayed during warm up. I had it into the VAP shop for a full transmission service and the issues only got worse so I brought it back and they replaced the mass air flow sensor $$$ and the problem was still there but didnt seem as bad, at that point I figured I would just live with it. Once the dealer checked it out they discovered it was 3 quarts low on transmission fluid with no leaks anywhere and they did a full service on the transmission and now it drives perfectly even during warm up. The dealer suggested I contact the shop where it was serviced and request a refund. Needless to say I feel that I wasted my money on the mass airflow sensor and for sure the transmission service at VAPs shop. Very disappointed. Lucky I dont drive the car much and they said they didnt see any visible damage from the incorrect/poor service I received at this shop. When I find a mechanic I place a lot of trust in them and in the case of this shop I feel that trust was misplaced. From now on it will go to the Bentonville, AR MB dealer for service, and they even offer free concierge service to Tulsa, they will pick up my car and drop off a loaner! Had I knows this I never would have used VAP.
Excellent!!! They know what they are doing. Very helpful and took care of all of the extended warranty for me. Even gave me a ride to get a rental. Thanks!!!
I called to get a quote for my Jeep and gave the guy the information he requested. He wouldnt give me a ballpark quote over the phone unless I brought it in. I asked why and he said he needed the VIN. I told him I had the VIN and gave it to him and he said He is going to have to decline on this. Thank you. and hung up. Worst customer service experience with a shop ever.
The folks at VAP continue to be accurate in their diagnosis of my vehicles needs and honest in their dealings with me. Ive taken my wifes van, my sons car and my truck to them several times now, as we tend to keep our vehicles a long time. The staff at VAP, and Travis in particular (the owner) have saved me money when I thought something major was wrong, but they identified something else minor causing my problems. They could have easily fixed what I had asked them to do, but instead fixed what the problem actually was. The whole staff is professional and friendly. I learned a long time ago, if you find an honest mechanic, stick with them. I know where Im going the next time one of our vehicles needs attention!
Worst place to visit... they screw your car and money. Dont even see this place. Not good.
Nice, professionals. My car runs like a dream now.
I had put two of my vehicles in there on the first of July to get a diagnostic to see what needed repaired. I waited one full week to call. I kept getting chip on the phone and kept saying the shop is full we will get to it by the end of the week. That happened for three weeks. After getting one of vehicles in finally I got quoted 3000 bucks to get a now/rebuilt transmission bought and installed. So I towed that car home. Waiting on my other car to get put in shop. I get a call Tuesday July 23 after a bad storm saying a roof has landed on my car. So after work I go up there to assess the damage of my car. After seeing the roof on my car only seeing my front quarter panel off my 2000 eclipse visible. I go in and talk to chip. Chip told me that he had spoke with the buildings owner (Where the roof flew off from) and said he contacted his insurance. Chip told me he would keep me updated and it would take a few days to get the debris removed. So I call Friday to get some updates He said debris was still not removed and that he has not heard from the guys insurance company. So Tuesday comes I call chip he says theres a crew out there trying to get the debris off the vehicles. Promised I would receive a call later that afternoon. I waited tell 5 and decided to call myself he said that they couldnt get the debris off of my car but off of the surrounding areas and assured me that this would take wait off of my car. (AT THIS POINT ITS BEEN A WEEK WITH ALL OF IT ON THERE SO WHATS IT GOING TO DO AT THIS POINT) So I ask about the owner of the building and he says he doesnt know anything and its the building behind them and I quote there a place just like us. So after work at 6 I drive by Vap auto shop. Sure enof my car is still covered with debris while all other vehicles that has debris on them was cleared off. So I drive to the place behind them get the address and who owns the property number. To say the least Vap has been a hell of a place to deal with I do not recommend this place I still am trying to get everything worked out.
I have nothing negative to say about the service itself. I got called to go pick up my car which had its shock mount ears broken. It was before closing hours and the doors were locked. And as I stood there the worker comes out of his car and tells me he locked himself out of the shop and that hes the only employee on duty; to please take him to some motel so that he can get the keys from someone else. Strike one- extremely unprofessional employee and terrible portrayel of the COMPANY. But I NEEDED my car, so I drove the employee around town to look for the guy with the keys. Finally, he didnt find the guy and I took him back. I left without my car. I went the next day and I believe I delt with the owner, Travis. I was charged $.45 on material and $302 on labor for slapping a little weld on the broken piece(which as a code welder I could have done but dont have a machine). I asked for a discount because of the UNprofessionalism on behalf of the company and because of the inconvenience caused. He absolutely refused and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability for his employees actions on business grounds and on company time. To make a longer story short, he told me to ask any amount of money from the employee and if he didnt give it to me, he was going to fire the employee. At that point I didnt argue my case any longer. I could see that this man didnt care about me. He wanted his money and for me to take it out on the employee. What you do with your employee is your problem, not mine. Take responsibility for your employees actions.
I took my 2005 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT to VAP because the grease boot on the passenger side cv drive axel was torn. I understood when I took it in that replacing the entire drive axel is the usual fix for this problem and since one was being replaced, the driver side axel would probably need to be replaced soon so I said OK. I should have known when they charged me $145.00 for an axel available at any auto parts store for about $70.00 that I was in for a rough ride. I also should have known when they reported the rear windows as being inoperable when the only problem was that the button disabling the rear windows for child protection was on that they didnt know a thing about Subarus. I can understand a reasonable markup on purchased parts, but over 100% markup seemed to be unreasonable to me. When I got the car back, as soon as I took off from the shop, it had a terrible noise whenever I let out the clutch. I drove it home and called them to let them know that something was wrong. They came and picked the car up and over the next few days I heard various stories about what the problem was. Finally they said that I needed new ball joints and the front and rear differential needed to be services. More money out the door. When they returned the car saying that they couldnt hear the noise any more I was relieved. That is, until my wife and I went to church that night and there was the noise again. I took the car to the Subaru dealer and asked them to go over each item on the bill to see if the work was really done. The major problem the tech at Subaru found was that the boot on one of the new ball joints was torn on installation. Also, the nuts on the ball joints were not new and were different from side to side. In addition, there was no cotter pin through the top of the ball joint which would have, in time, caused both a drivability and a safety issue. Also, they found that the driver side brake caliper bracket was warped and would not fit back on the car. Someone had ground out the bolt holes in order to make it fit. Final word, the tech at Subaru repaired my car and it works perfectly. The people at VAP screwed up my car, charged me a lot of money, and lied to me on several occasions. I would never take my car to them for repair again and I will tell everyone I meet of the shoddy way I was treated.
This place will tell you tge mechanic is ill for 2 wks. Then look for you a motor for a month then 4 months later tell u it still hasnt been delivered. After 8 months of all of this they say it is comung in and give you a price where they add storage for their own procrastinating. So tbey stole my 2002 SAAB convertable
Terrable best describes our experence (these people are liars) We call ahead to make an appointment giving the shop 24 hours with our car (we had to rent a car while this was in the shop) DO A TUNE UP then check for any thing else and call us. They did nothing except use the car for a ride about town they ate lunch in the car and left thier trash in the car. We were charged 102.00 for the free 96 point check and the advertised 20.00 off for the first visit did not appear. THESE ARE NOT HONORABLE PEOPLE thier word is nothing but a lie. They said we needed front wheel bearings The Front end shop we went to said BULL,,they lied.
04 GMC ENVOY XL Turned my nightmare into a seamless dream. they took care of me, and was patient with me and helped me work with my insurance and kept me informed every step of the way. i was out of town (Im from texas) in tulsa when i was involved in a wreck on the BA51 where a guy in a stolen vehicle spun out of control causing a 5 car wreck, totaling my car (i did not know this at the time) they took care of me i did not feel like a number or a $$ bill but a Valued customer who needed help and thats exactly what they did, even helping me get a rental and after being home (in texas) called and kept me informed and again helped me with dealing with the insurance company. it was just a Great experience all around i would recommend them over and over again. they do great work they are professional the shop was one of the cleanest i have seen! i give em a 10 out of 10thanks again guys!
Took my truck for a oil change and a ac recharge . stayed an extra hour chatting with the service writer and shop foreman about anything and everything. very friendly people that know what theyre doing and how to get it done right the first time .
DONT USE THIS PLACE!! OUR AUDI COST A HUNDRED BUCKS TO DIAGNOSE ...THE DEALERSHIP WAS FREE...THEY SAID IT WOULD COST FOUR GRAND TO FIX, IT WAS UNDER A THOUSAND AT THE DEALERSHIP!! PLUS HALF THE STUFF THEY SAID WAS WRONG WAS NOT!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND THE HEADACHE!!
To make a long story short: I took my car there twice within six months for transmission repairs. Both times they kept it for 3 weeks and told me every day that the parts would be in “tomorrow”. If you take your car to this garage, you never know how long they will keep it.When I got it back the second time they told me it needed a $400 master cylinder. I took it for a second opinion and all it needed was the brakes adjusted, which the other garage did for free.
The BEST!
Yes BEST !!!
