We just had a master closet installed and we couldnt be happier. I worked with Kristin and she was great; very helpful and worked well with all of my ideas/opinions. Installation time frame was quick and seems to be well done. Very happy with my new closet!

I was looking to have cabinets installed in my small pantry and my dad saw and ad for them and told me to call them. Kristen was very professional and even took some time to go over a few different designs and pricing options. After I decided on one it was super quick to have them installed. I can’t remember the exact dates but I think it was only 3 weeks it took. The installer came and took his time to make sure the shelves were cut properly and everything looked nice. I can’t even describe how nice my pantry looks now. Definitely recommend. Can’t wait to use them again for some other closets.

My installer was beyond wonderful! He worked into the night until my closets were completed. Because of his dedication, they look wonderful and flawless. I will definitely use them again.

From start to finishing our closet rebuild experience with Closets by Design was wonderful. The designer came in drew up the schematics and worked to get us within our budgeted amount. Installation scheduling was full so there was about a 3 week wait. The installers showed up on time. They were very professional. They completed the entire job in a few hours. There was no mess left behind. The closet structure is sturdy and is backed by their warranty. We will be using them again for our laundry room.

Although this was the most expensive quote I received the products were designed and installed better than what I received from other companies (material, to the floor design, flexibility). Excellent experience with the designer, Karen Rosa who understood my needs and designed the layout accordingly. The installer did a great job also. My daughter was pleased with the results and we called the office to arrange another consult for 3 additional closets. Awaiting installation of this project in a few weeks.

Our experience started positive because the sales agent and designer we worked with was very professional and consultative. I loved her ideas for how to design our master bedroom walk in closet and garage. After that its been a nightmare! We were misinformed for when our garage and walk in closet installations would occur, we got chrome rods instead of gold rods and they forgot to add panels to a section in our closet. To make matters worse its June 30th and my closet is still not done from an installation that was supposed to finish in the end of April! When they switched the chrome rods for gold they missed one rod. Today the guys show up to fix it and the customer service ladies misinformed them. Every time we communicate with the front desk ladies they look confused and like they cant take simple directions and organize the notes. A lot of these delays and problems could have been avoided! An experience that started with 5 stars is now 2 stars. I suggest management hires and/or trains their customer service ASAP. They were the root of the problems. The guys who install the closets were following incorrect directions!

Had 2 appointments with the Hamilton location on 2 separate occasions and both times they canceled on me because they didn’t want to drive 40 minutes to my location for a new build walk in closet and they told me they didn’t want to drive down “just for me” that’s bad business and I am personally a business owner and I would never tell a client or customer that!I will find a company who wants my business

Custom pantry installation: Kate the designer was very helpful creating custom pantry in my budget. The guys were very professional. One of the pieces was drilled incorrectly but they got the right one the next day and finished the job. They left the place nice and clean. Very happy with the final result.

I am very happy with how my laundry room turned out. During assembly/installation, there was an improperly milled piece that stopped the installation. The factory redid the piece and delivered it within an hour and a half so we could have the install completed. The installation dude was super nice and did a great job. The owner actually dropped the part off. While expensive for what I got, I am very happy that its provided me so much more room in such a tight space. I cant believe the useable space I have now. The initial design with Kate was so fun and she was great to work with. Will certainly call Closets by Design for my next redesign!

We purchased several custom closet installations. Entire purchase and design process was simple with no sales pressure. Dont expect immediate installation as these guys seem to be busy. The quality is good, heavy duty and strong but considering it is basically pressed board with laminate overlay, I would not term a good value and that is the only reason not getting 5 stars. The installation crew was extremely professional and through. There were a few issues with material at the end, which were quickly and professionally resolved. I would recommend Closets by Design to a friend.

Pro’s: if you are looking for custom closets reasonably priced, go for it! We definitely would do it again!Con’s: they brought us the wrong drawer faces & our salesman said, “well, the installers are human”, no biggie. She wanted us to wait a whole week to have new drawer faces installed & leave our closets unfinished during that week wait!!Thank God we have enough common sense to have called her Manager (John) who was great! He apologized & didn’t minimize their mistake & gave us newly requested drawer handles that were different than the ones we originally picked out. My husband insisted we keep our wrong drawer faces so we could still enjoy a finished looking closet & they fixed it the following week. Now, they are beautiful! Just be forward in case something is not correct, don’t look to your salesman to fix the problem.

Closets by Design installed closet organizers for two closets in our condo. Those organizers provided us much more room than we had before, which is very important when you have limited space for storage. The installers were very professional and prompt, and did not make much of a mess at all. Were very happy with how the job came out.

Very disorganized and unprofessional. I ordered the closet in July and had to contact them to schedule installation. 2 weeks prior to installation, I was contacted and asked to provide my own hardware, which I never agreed to do. The installers decided to change the installation plan without discussing with me, so I had have an electrician come and move my light switch. They also did not have all of the pieces so had to schedule a return. Once again, I had to contact them to schedule it and they did it 3 weeks in advance (missing 1 door and said it would take 1 week.) The Friday before the appointment, I contacted them to confirm and was told someone would get back to me. I called them the day of installation and they said that the door had not arrived yet. 2 weeks later, they finally have the door and call me to confirm the time of installation. (We never confirmed a day so confirming a time caught me off guard.) I was then told that they have an important $6000 job to do first and don’t know when they will arrive. Needless to say, I am upset that my $5500 is not important to them. it has been a series of unprofessional encounters and I wish I had chosen a different company.

Karen was the designer I worked with (we turned an unused bedroom into a dressing room) and she was very professional and knowledgeable. Andre was so polite and kind, and he built us a beautiful dressing room. I highly recommend Closets by Design. We may be consulting them for our kitchen, as well.

Fast & painless experience. Have a very small walk in closet in our master bedroom and our designer Thea came in measured and explained how we could maximize the space we had. Not wanting to spend a ton of money she eliminated a lot of unnecessary expenses for us so we saved the most money. Two weeks later three men had installed our closet in about an hour! We were super happy.

Took over 4 months to finish a simple office. came back over 5 times. did not cover their shoes, nor wear masks. very rude. broke the countertop by drilling a hole through it and didn’t even apologize. now we have to wait even longer for a new one. overall very dissatisfied and disappointed

Made appointment for today at 4. They did not show up so we called them. At 4:45 we were told that the designer would be here at 6. Then the designer texted me that she would not be here until 6:30. The prior appointment was apparently more important than keeping our appointment. They needed four hours at the other home and apparently thought that starting an appointment at 6:30 or later on a Saturday was ok. If they can’t get here on time to give us a quote I can only imagine what will happen for installation or service problems. Not today Satan. Then I see the comments here and I’m glad I did not get farther on the process.

I thought my closet came out amazing until the installers told me that the drawers were made incorrectly and they would come back in a few weeks with the proper drawers and install. No problem I thought. 1 month later, no one has returned my calls, e-mails etc. I have an incomplete closet and no update to when I will get this resolved. If they would have just communicated to me - this would be a non-issue, but they ghosted.

This is the second time we have had work done by them.The designer Karen worked with us through the design process for our garage and visited us 3 times until all was finalized. Great job. Note that Lisa did a fine job with the communications and scheduling. An Excellent job was done by the Installers, Twaheer & Andre.Solid work !

Closets by Design in Central New Jersey should be fined and then probably closed. They have shown the worst customer service ever.If you are thinking of using them, please do not as you will be sorely disappointed. I have called them numerous times about an uncompleted job. They do not return my calls, they do not respond to a negative facebook post. In other words, they do not care at all about how their customers are doing. I am horrified by this negative experience. They closet design was not cheap and I cannot believe they have not completed their job. Buyer beware, the representative Kate, had me fill out much paperwork and I truly hope that you will not use this incompetent business. Next the Better Business Bureau and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. They should be closed.

Absolute worst Service! DO NOT RECOMMEND! After a three month wait, the job was missing parts of the cabinets. I called and they said someone will be right out. Spoke with the owner and he said he will take care of it. Weeks later, they sent me an email for a 2 month out apt... this was one of many errors. During this the Owner now wont return my calls.

My wife and I love our closets. The designer was top notch. She took almost three hours talking about the layout and accurately measuring out the design. She is an asset to the company and is a true professional.The service after the contract was signed is something else. No communication. Not thankful for the business. Arrogant on the phone. This culture probably comes from the owner of this particular franchise. If I can summarize... She thinks she has her customers over a barrel and there is nothing they can do about it... because its custom! This attitude comes through the phone and how they handle orders. It does not go over well... it irritates anyone who interacts with this franchise.The installation was excellent. The installers did a wonderful job. Be sure to tip them for their hard work...If this review only focused on the product, designer, and installation it would be five stars. Unfortunately, since this is a custom/personal product, its important to have a great service along the way to the end result.

After speaking with this location, I learned that it has recently been under brand new ownership (Im told since spring 2016). The new owner (Dennis) took over and has improved quite a lot with new equipment and much better communication and service. They installed a set of cabinets in my master bedroom and they are very well done. Im extremely happy with the work and will be coming back here for the other bedrooms and maybe even my office downstairs.Thanks!

Never used their service before but I was driving and one of their drivers was going so fast that it inspired us to drive faster and catch up. Couldnt catch him even tho we were pushing 100+ in a camaro and he was in a truck, but we did shave a clean 10 minutes off our trip to North Jersey

By far the worst service EVER!!! I wish I had taken the time to check out their reviews before hiring them. They are very misleading, super unprofessional, and they’re a scam. My little 7x7 closet which was suppose to be done in 2-3 weeks is “scheduled” to be done in 12 weeks. I’ve called numerous times and spoke to their staff, scheduling coordinator, etc. Everyone will tell you that they will call you in a week and they NEVER will. I’m currently on hold to speak to a manager (16 minutes now and counting) which I’m almost positive will either not pick up the phone and/or say they will get back to me. If this isn’t resolved ASAP, the owner Dennis Mattesich will need to step in. Utterly ridiculous!!

Closet came out great. They knocked it all out in one day and I was able to put everything back that night.

I made an appointment wit this company to come out to look at my closet. No one arrived on the designated day. I called and was told that my name was not even in the data base !!! The woman who told me this was the woman who made my appointment. I want to do business with an outfit like this? I am sure I do not !!!!

What a true disappointment. Designed and Installers were great - product is great but the owners of this particular franchise were horrible to work with. Have been to my home 6 times and job is still not complete. Biggest issue is their inability to communicate and placing the blame on others. Granted there was complexity to my project in all fairness but that just did not have the capacity to handle it. Scheduled workers do not show up, did not bring the correct pieces to complete the job and I have tried my best to communicate each and every time what is required so that the job could be complete. I would recommend you use another company for closet organization.

I contracted Closets by Design in Trenton to install extensive shelving closet in one of my bedrooms. They installed the bulk of it but did not have some parts to complete the installation and promised to return within a week. Its been 2 months since then. No returned calls or messages. DISAPPOINTED.Update: Closet installed mid May, the issue with missing filler was fixed on August 3rd.

I purchased last year. I had ClosetsbyDesign to three bedrooms. Very simple. But they got it wrong anyway. In my sons I put in drawers. Well that was a mistake. After about 2 months the covers were coming off and to my surprise the screws were stripped. So no matter how many times I rescrewed them kept coming undone. It took me months literally 5 months to get this people back in to fix. And what did they do? They screwed the same screws didnt repair a thing. Now the other drawers are similiarly coming undone. I spent thousands of dollars for VERY VERY poor work. Im not even going to call again to complain because it took months to get anyone to reply. I am not a competitor but a VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!! You can see from the posted picture the sawdust because the screws are constantly being pulled out every time you open the door. This picture was taken after I again screwed in the screws.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor of any type coming into my home to do a renovation. The installation was untimely - was told about 3 weeks - it was two months. Appt. was scheduled for 2-4PM and they showed up at 6PM - no phone call - The only positive thing about this experience was that the installers were pleasant. A feature in our closet design that had been omitted was brought to our attention by the installer. We have now been trying to get this small part of the job completed to no avail. The people in the office are unprofessional and rude to their customers. I dont care whose fault it is - I just want to make it right and move on but all they do is promise to call back which they dont do. They even called us thieves because the installer tried to make up for being so late in arriving that he installed two small connector pieces of wood from some leftover material he had in the truck. That did it for me. This company is absolutely not interested in repeat business because there is no way I would ever use them again!! I called the corporate office and filed a complaint but no one has even contacted me about that. In the past few days, I could have referred them to two people for jobs but there is no way Id let any of my friends go through the experience I just did. Save yourself the aggravation of dealing with these unprofessionals. They are the worst!!

THEY ARE THIEVES AND LIARS ...... BEWARE!!!I had a custom cabinet put in my laundry room. They drilled through a waste pipe in the wall! The owners now refuse to repay me for plumber and massive holes in wall that I had to have patched and repainted. I was left voicemails that the check was in the mail Its now weeks later I am in the process of a lawsuit. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THESE DEADBEATS!! In retrospect I am amazed they didnt steal my deposit.

Very friendly but not very well organized. the cabinets do not go all the way to the wall. I have a new home so their excuse that they leave room for the wall in case it is not plumb is an excuse. I had cabinets done by another chain and thy fit the walls exactly. This was a trial for closets by design which they did not pass.I have a lot more to do but not with them
