This my first time coming to the Japanese Auto Center. Let me start off by saying they are great people who helped me out with my car. They are very honest, straightforward, and affordable. I definitely recommend coming here they did an amazing job on my car.

I have been a customer of Japanese auto for approximately 20 years. The Techs. .are awesome, you will never have take your vehicle back for the same repairs. They do everything right the first time. Dan is an outstanding owner and the best mechanic in America. The business is a one stop shop. I reside in the High Desert, and Japanese auto is well worth the Drive. Keep up the Outstanding work Japanese! You Guys are the BEST.......

This is the perfect place to bring your car too and especially if you find it hard to trust other mechanic shops out there.. for the ones that arent mechanically minded this is the perfect place to go to. They explained everything that needed to be repaired on my car in laymans terms and theyre super trustworthy. The environment is very clean and including the restrooms. I brought my car to them at 7:00 a.m. in the morning but I like to be early so I was there around 6:45 a.m. and before I even walked up to the door the owner greeted me and he knew exactly who I was and took my car right in. This place is very affordable and they have a lifetime customer here.

I brought my in-laws 2013 Toyota Avalon here for a brake service and oil change. I provided the brake parts and Japanese Auto was happy to perform the installation and charged me a fair and competitive price for their labor. Early one morning, after previously calling and requesting a reservation, I dropped the vehicle off for the work to be completed. Roger was professional and detailed orientated with the check in process as he walked with me to inspect our vehicle and answer any possible questions. They are a busy shop and I was pleased that he took the time to verify the necessary details of our transaction. Later that afternoon I received a call from Roger to confirm the work was completed and the Toyota was now available for pick up. I paid for the services and received a complete accounting of the work performed. They do offer a AAA discount and we’re happy to apply it to my bill. I test drove it to ensure it was performing as expected and was thankful to have found what appears to be a reliable and hardworking maintenance center for our applicable vehicles.Within a week, during slow speed cornering, there was a strange sound coming from the front end and given the timing I became concerned that something may have been overlooked or was incomplete. The brakes themselves were still performing perfectly but this sound was clearly detectable with movement and the turning of the front wheels. I called and spoke with Roger who confirmed that he would be happy to examine the vehicle free of any additional charge. Again, they are a busy shop as am I a busy person and it took several weeks to schedule an appointment for another visit and evaluation. We went through the same drop off process and again I received a call in the afternoon from Roger. He described how all of the brake work had been reinspected and showed no issues. Brakes are one of the most common repairs and ours were still performing beautifully with no problems. He said that his technician drove the vehicle and too immediately heard the very noticeable and alarming sound. This was a profound metal to metal type sound that would present itself as a “thud” when turning slowly. They brought it back and started to inspect it looking for any visible damage or failure. Thankfully the car is in good condition and didn’t appear to have anything else broken. Somewhat puzzled, they then, through a detailed process of elimination, began to look at areas of connection where there exist the stress points of suspension and frame architecture. They went throughout the vehicle confirming and eventually tightening various loose nuts and bolts holding the front end together.It’s surprising but anything can apparently loosen and therefore cause issues over time. This car is driven by my wife’s 70 plus year old parents and the thought of some potential catastrophic structural failure at speed is concerning to say the least. I’m truly appreciative that Roger and Japanese Auto are dedicated to customer satisfaction and safety, expressed in this specific case by thoroughly examining issues using competent and sound reasoning. I was charged only an hour of labor and again received my AAA discount.I continue to consider myself fortunate that people like Roger and businesses such as Japanese Auto are still around to provide quality and value to my family and community. Thank you Roger and Japanese Auto and I’ll see you next time.

Japanese Auto Center was fast, reasonable, and efficient! I took my car in because there was a noise that I keep on hearing, and it got louder as time passed by. I called, got an appointment a week later, and they were able to diagnose the problem, and got it all fix up in one day! The price was reasonable too! Thank you! Will be returning for sure!

Love this place. I have been driving my truck for almost 20 years and anytime it acts up or I need some routine maintenance done I bring it here.I recently had my truck stall on me while driving so I drove straight over to them. They fit me in without an appointment, which was amazing considering how busy they are. Their mechanic did a very thorough inspection to be sure they had found the problem, repaired the issues and I had my truck back in a couple days. They offer a nice discount for AAA members and their pricing is very reasonable. Their mechanics are skilled and experienced and I trust the work they do.Another reason I bring my truck here is because their staff is so honest and helpful. I had some major oil and coolant leaks a while back and even though they could have done the repairs, they actually referred me to another mechanic they have known a long time that could do the repairs for less to save me some money. I mean, would your mechanic do that? They definitely have your best interests at heart and because of this I will be a customer for life.

Japanese Auto Center just got themselves a new loyal customer. These guys are awesome. A metal panel in the undercarriage of my car was damaged and was scraping the ground as I drove. I needed a quick fix and after i called these guys they had me in the next morning and fixed my car right then and there in less than 30 minutes. And they didnt even charge me. Ill definitely be taking all my car issues to these guys from here on out.

I always enjoy coming to the Japanese Auto Center. Workers there and the owner are always respectful and professional. The sincere transparency given is perhaps the number one reason why I will always keep coming here. They wont attempt to get your money on a service that you dont need.

I have been taking my car to Dan for years and trust him and his crew implicitly. Many times he has steered me away from repairs that weren’t really necessary. If Dan says it needs to be done, it needs to be done. And will be done at a fair price

I bought a 2010 Subaru Forester over the weekend, but didnt get a chance to have a mechanic look at it before I bought it. As a AAA member, there was a summer event going on for car inspection. It was about to end Monday. All mechanics were closed for the weekend, but Japanese Auto responded quickly (Saturday after hours) to the Yelp message I left them. Originally they said they were booked until Wed but would honor the free check up. I mentioned I work on Wed, but was more flexible Mon/Tues. Plus, I only had 5 days to return the car if there was any problems they found. They were able to see me at 1 pm Mon. Not sure how much more involved a pre-purchase inspection vs the AAA deal, but they found a couple issues and it was no charge. They gave me a fair quote and told me I could go anywhere for tires, but alignment comes with their service. Very nice waiting room and very clean bathroom! Back to the dealership. I would consider servicing my car here in the future!One year later, AAA is having another summer check up. I went here again (although there might be mechanics closer to me) and I still feel they are very professional and up front with what needs to be fixed and why. The waiting room is still very pleasant and accommodating. I took some more pictures. 8/23/21

Amazing customer service! I left my 91 Toyota pick up to get some fixing... The mechanic would call me with updates of what they found and what should be done to the vehicle. This was amazing!The staff were all very knowledgeable on the mechanics of my old Japanese truck. I will definitely Recommend them To all my clients & friends.Thank you!

I recently purchased a used vehicle and wanted to get the alignment and some concerns I had with the new vehicle checked out. I found Japanese Auto online due to their Japanese car specialty and then later read all the good reviews that previous customers had made which made me feel much better about the risk of a new repair shop. To start, they don’t charge for the diagnostic which is something I have rarely encountered being the king of car problems. That being said they went ahead and diagnosed several things I should repair or pay attention too in order to get my car in top working order. They were honest with what was said but some the labor seemed a little steep for the type of repair. Why change a bushing on both sides for $70ish (in parts) and much more labor time, than changing both control arms completely (bushings included) for $130 (in parts) and less labor involved? I will definitely be coming back for certain things they can fix but only if the labor is fair, which some of their labor costs are fair. The shop is well organized and has very knowledgeable, friendly staff working there. Overall Japanese Auto is a very solid choice when coming to a reliable shop that does what they can to properly fix your car at their pricing capabilities. I almost wish they had a tip option because the diagnostic test was worth paying them for my situation. They have a lot of integrity in their work which was acknowledged and should be a green check mark when considering them as a repair shop option!

These people are pros. Ive been here multiple times and only experienced attentive service and excellent communication. From my first conversation, I felt as if I was being ethically addressed. I cant imagine taking my elderly Subaru anywhere else.

I know the owner, having been a past tenant. I went in for a free auto check on a used car I was considering. They usually do these by appointment but can often fit an inspection in. They kindly fit me in the schedule without a lot of waiting. They checked the main items - tires, brakes, battery, shocks / struts, air filters, PCV, engine oil, brake fluid, lights, exhaust, steering, etc., taking about an hour. The car needed a front brakes job due to a lip in the disc caused by wear. They also found which tire air pressure sensor was bad. I am quite satisfied with the work. - he does it for the prospective business.

Outstanding service, knowledgeable, friendly staff and competitive prices. This was my third clutch job on 3 different vehicles. Pep Boys couldn’t help me and the Toyota dealer charges way too much.

Roger was very responsive and thorough. He provided an accurate and fair cost estimate, then scheduled me in. It was supposed to be done in a day. But when it came to the point when he realized it was not going to be done, he was proactive and contacted me as soon as he could to let me know. I appreciate the promptness and consideration he provided me. The job was well done and warranted for 24K miles or 2 years. I highly recommend this shop for your suspension and alignment needs.

I was referred to Japanese Auto Center by an employee at American Tire. I called the same day ad spoke with Mrs. Walker. She was very pleasant and professional. She explained the process and scheduled me for an appointment. The checkin process was easy and I was able to wait in their waiting room and continue to work. It took 1 hour to complete my front and back wheel alignment. I was very pleased with the services I receive and definitely recommend Japanese Auto Center to my family and friends.

I am an amateur mechanic with basic knowledge and I have to say I was positively impressed.I took the car for a verification of a dash message. They found out the issue along with two other items that needed repair and provided a very detailed description. You can tell when something is recommended or it is truly required, what they found is truly required and I have to say they know their stuff.They did not charge me for the diagnostic even though I offered to pay and even provided transportation to and from my work.Best mechanic shop Ive been to.

I took my car to get the LED headlights replaced and they did a great job and kept me informed about the progress while I waited for my car. Eve was very pleasant and helpful and the mechanic who worked on my car was very friendly and knowlegeable.

The individuals are honest and trustworthy I have used them twice for major jobs including front and right axle and arm bushing replacement. It’s nice to know there are reliable and honest mechanics.

I had my car towed to this location and they accommodated me and gave me advice as to how to proceed without pushing or upselling. Roger took care of my vehicle and I was able to talk to him directly whenever I called to ask for updates. Would recommend.

They did a 40 point check on my car. I couldnt ask for anything better. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. They gave me a print out with the results and even took their time to explain it all to me. There was no pressure put on me to get the fixings done with them right away like other places have done. The print out showed what it would cost and I was simply told if you decide you would like for us to take care of it, make sure you call in advance to make an appointment. I didnt feel obligated to have them do it which made me decide that I will be calling for an appointment as soon as I can. I experienced some of the best customer service ever there today. I only wish I had gotten their names to acknowledge them individually, but from what I am reading in the reviews, they all seem to be the same. I am so happy to have just found my new go to for any car related issues.

Me and my mom have been long time customers. This company is outstanding when it comes to being professional and honest. Recently I brought my car in for an emissions problem Mike looked under my hood and resolved the problem in less than 5 minutes! And no charge!! This would have cost me at lease $170.00 at the dealer! Yes!! I would highly recommend Japanese Auto Center in Torrance.

Thinking about getting your Honda repaired at a Honda dealer? Forget about it and have your car serviced here, instead. You will be glad you did :-) !!! What amounted to a $5400 estimate at Honda turned out to be an $1,800 repair bill here, but, we also got the added benefit of an oil change and tire rotation! Then they gave us a $50 off AAA discount, to boot. Need I say more? Oh, yes I do! Our 2007 Honda Odyssey now runs like brand new and we could not be happier.

This is my first time getting my car serviced here and on initial contact they were extremely nice and super welcoming. I wasn’t sure if he was the owner, but the gentleman in the back was super nice as well. Always had a smile on his face! Easy to find eventhough Im not from the area (Long Beach).I tried it based on Yelp. Got there late for my appt so I waited 30 min for them to come back from lunch. I got an estimate about an hour after they returned. Nothing major, just an AC recharge & the service was much less expensive than shops in my neighborhood. Got the service completed in another hour and I was on my way. They even gave me an estimate on another repair I needed & Ill be back to them when I get it done. EVE WALKER was Amazing... very helpful

Called looking around for good shops who are comfortable working with Japanese cars. One shop said, “ Bring it in now we are free now to work on it” I declined the offer because I thought to myself why don’t they have any cars there? Called Japanese auto @ 6:45am ( They open at 7am) Roger picks up and I’m shocked! I ask, “ Are you open?” He says, “No but I’m here, what’s going on?” I tell him about my issue with my car overheating and he says, “Im booked this week, I’m usually behind a week so if you want I will be able to see you next week.” I thought wow now this is a great sign, because if they are busy with cars they must be REALLY GOOD at what they do. And yes, they are REALLY GOOD at what they do. Car came back in great condition and he offered me a donut 🍩 and coffee in the morning complementary. Okay well not the coffee but still I was very pleased. Reasonable price and high quality work. These guys really know what they are doing. Eve was just as sweet as a person could be. Professional and helpful. Highly recommend them! Check em out for yourself but call they in advance ;)

Went there w my brand new EV which had a screw stuck in one of the tires. I only went in to check and see if they can patch it. After checking the tire, the owner informed me that he’d rather not risk patching it, since it’s a brand new car (EV VW ID4) and that they might not have equipment suitable for my type of car. However, he’s plug my tire for free so I can drive it for few days before taking it to my dealer. He was very generous and all the staffs were so friendly. I didn’t even have any cash on me (since I just decided to stop by as I was passing by them) so couldn’t even tip the technician, but the owner was nice enough to provide the service for free. I’m definitely going back to this shop for their honesty which I value more than anything and their excellent service! First time ever being satisfied by an auto repair shop and giving 5stars review!! :)

Roger and Dan always take care of us. My sister and I have becoming here for years and these guys never disappoint I know Eve and Roger get tired of me calling them but it’s all good. The guys at the Japanese Auto Center saved the day, starting with the front desk. When I first made my call, both people I ended up speaking with did their diligence to figure out if and how they could support my issue.Later in the day I showed up and they got right on it. Then I noticed the guy who performed the work, didnt simply stop at the requested work. He noticed the tire pressure was low and no questions asked just went ahead and addressed it as well. Thats what I call taking pride in your work and business - from top to bottom. Definitely recommend.

Japanese auto service was nothing short of exceptional. I asked them to repair two problems in my 15 year old Acura. There were other issues I had, but I didn’t want to try to repair everything at one time. The representative from Japanese auto service, I believe his name was Kevin, kept me posted on everything that they were doing to my car and even found the problems in the other items that I did not even consider asking them to repair, but which definitely needed to be repaired. But they were precisely correct and my 15-year-old car now runs almost as good as new, and at a very reasonable cost. I will definitely use their service again.

The place is towards the back of other shops. I was greeted by a young lady (Eve) who was polite and professional. She asked if I had an appointment. I replied no. She studied the schedule and said yes they could work on my car and that my vehicle would ready towards the end of the day; which it was. My alignment felt good and my oil change was also done. My experience here was 11/10 everyone was very welcoming and friendly & I used their online YELP free estimate tool and the staff replied immediately and were able to fit me in day of despite of them being a booming business. Replaced my starter for a great price & huge discount for having a membership with Triple AAA . With everything going on in the world right now due to COVID they were very sanitary and laid out plastic wrap in the car and on sterling wheel. I would recommend this spot to anyone & everyone, customer service was great and the overall experience was as well.

I had an oil leak. Oil was everywhere. Instead of pulling my car apart and charging me a fortune, they cleaned up my engine then put dye in the oil and made sure to top the oil off. I’m driving it for a couple weeks so they can look at the dye and see where the leak is. They’ll fix only where the leak is and save me lots of $$! Nice work! I’ll keep you posted.UPDATE: They initially gave me a quote for $1200 because they were going to have to pull the engine apart. But when they started really digging in they found that the hose was leaking and they could fix it for $350. The good news keeps on coming!

Took my 1984 Toyota Van there to be diagnosed and worked on and they exceeded expectations. While it is hard enough to find shops that are familiar and can work on this year and model van, they did a great job, were very communicative and honest about all of the work, overall great experience and my van is running great with plans to get more work done in near future to keep it running great!

One of the best auto repair experiences of my life! I’m a single senior citizen and I am always apprehensive about getting ripped off. I was pleasantly surprised at how fair the rates are. Plus everyone is friendly and pleasant. A special shout out to Eve who was so nice and reassuring. I have found a treasure in this business.

Honest mechanics who do good work! Very busy shop but if you have a safety issue they will squeeze you in. I keep thinking of the time I heard a conversation between mechanic and an elderly lady. She had gone to jiffy lube and they told her she needed her fuel line flushed and she decided to go to an AAA shop to confirm. They had checked her car out and had to keep telling her “no your car is fine”. “We wouldn’t send you off with an unsafe car”.

They rebuilt my ignition cylinder and re-keyed my locks because my key wouldnt turn. Great value and great work as usual!

Japanese Auto Center is an ABSOLUTE GEM. Honest, courteous, and the best in terms of technical skill. They are one of the rare auto service shops that gave me an honest explanation as to what needed service and what was not immediately necessary, even though they took the time and effort (and expense) to inspect and test everything. When I say everything, they performed tests that tried to pinpoint issues as if it was their own beloved car.The people at Japanese Auto Center really care about being the best and it shows. Having a five star review on Google is somewhat rare, but Japanese Auto Center is one of the even rarer businesses that has earned every single last bit of their glowing reviews and more.Today, they didn’t push for extra repairs that would have made them a lot of money in the short-term, but in exchange they’ve won a customer for life. I really can’t say enough about how much I recommend them and how much I appreciate their honesty, integrity, and technical skill. Absolutely the best!

After getting a $15k+ insincere bid for repairs on my 2006 Nissan Xterra from the local dealership, I found this shop through my neighbors on the Nextdoor App. They got me in right away, did a free diagnostic check, and shot me straight on what was going on with my truck. We did a couple work arounds and the truck worked perfectly. I was able to get another 10k miles out of it before the transmission needed to be replaced, and I got rid of it. I now live in OC and drive an hour to go see them for anything I need done on my Hyundai Veloster. Yes, the parking is a little tight, but they’re very accommodating in helping you in/out. I always drop off my vehicle, so don’t expect to sit around there; go eat lunch or have someone pick you up, and know they’re gonna get you taken care of. Special thanks to Roger, Dan & Eve ❤️

Needed a diagnostic of rattling, hard moving when light is green.He gave me the estimates I needed to make some decisions. I always trust these people.

As usual, all services completed in specified time and with a minimum of hassle. Dan and his team make auto upkeep easy and almost painless. I only wish that we had found Japanese Auto even earlier than we did. Now my son and grandson are dealing with Dan also.

I went for an estimate and not only was it free but everyone I talked to was professional and friendly. It was also very clean and quiet.

Dan was able to squeeze the replacement of the catalytic converter on a busy day at a very competitive price. I got my Smog check done on time. Thanks for the coffee machine in the waiting room. I enjoyed 3 cups of coffee (I do drink a lot of coffee).

Extremely helpful, honest and did what they could to repair my car. After spending 2 hours diagnosing my car, they didnt charge me a penny. Service like this is unheard of now a days. Definitely recommend, without a doubt. Thank you for everything, will return.

So friendly, honest, prompt, and professional. Inspected my vehicle for no charge. In and out under 30 minutes. Well staffed, and everyone seem to be happy working there. Big parking lot but full, waiting area is clean, vending machines a plus. There many great auto shops closer, but this ones def worth the drive. Highly recommend 👍 !

So difficult to find and feel secure about major car maintenance but this was a refreshing experience. The reviews were very encouraging and more than met my expectations.
