Hidden in plain site!! Ive visited the farmers supply store next door and well as the ice cream place but I never realized this place was there. Upon arrival I was greeted by this gorgeous young lady who took my order and walked me thru their menu. I got #8 with a side of potatoes. After ordering you sit yourself while they cook your food. It didnt take long for food preparation. It looked amazing. Biscuits and gravy were superb, eggs bacon. Potatoes were served on a separate plate. My only displeasure was the potatoes kept sliding all over the plate while I ate. It would have been nice if they added cheese or veggies to them. When finished I wasnt aware that I had to bus my own table but the young lady said she would pick it up for me. She didnt have a name tag or give me a receipt, but she should be recognized for her hospitality.

We went for donuts early in the morning. Their donuts were very fresh and the twists were huge. They also serve breakfast but I was only interested in donuts and they were very good

Its just not good food. Both my wife and I ended up throwing most of our meals away. The doughnuts were definitely not a saving grace for us either.Reply: We came in back in late June but Im just reviewing now so that makes sense. I had a full order of biscuits and gravy full and I think my wife had french toast. We got a box of 6 different donuts to try as well. Also Im really not looking for a refund, Id really like for you guys to get better since were new to Thornton and this would be my closest breakfast spot.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the friendliest young lady. A few years ago I stopped coming because that owner was screaming at his employees I started coming back six months ago to support small businesses and I was glad I did. Everyone is nice and the food still has that home-cooked quality.

Get yourself a rose bud. Its a cross between sweet roll, fritter, and raspberry filled donut. The raised glaze was my benchmark and it was the best in the area. They have handheld breakfast burritos and regular breakfast burritos. The standard size was tasty, I could eat two to get satisfied.

This place has always been a good experience. We ordered a few burritos for pick up & arrived within the time specified. The order hadnt been made yet & we had to wait just a bit, but the ladies at the front made it right by giving us the burritos free of charge. The burritos were warm and delicious and the donut we got was baked to perfection. It is nice to see true customer service like that and we really appreciated it. Thanks again!

Honestly this used to be the best place to grab a bite to eat, or get yourself a really amazing donught.And to be fair, their donughts are still fairly good overall. But the poor service is very hard to get past. At times you can tell the workers get overwhelmed and make the customer suffer as a result.I have given this place MULTIPLE chances to prove me wrong. Unfortunately I have been met with painful disappointment each and everytime I go. I dont advise take-out, as they tend to forget items you ordered. The cooking quality can vary depending on the day. And the cleanliness has not been attended to properly.Truly I used to love this little place, and I am heartbroken to know that their overall quality has faltered as time goes on. 💔I hope that management acknowledges how important this place is to the community, and makes the changes necessary to maintain a great experience.

Had a smothered breakfast burrito.Nice and fresh. My only wish was some more spice!And thats not a complaint, I just like spicy. Will go back and also recommend to others

We’ve wanted to try this place for awhile as it is close to our house. We stopped in this morning and we are so glad we did! Everything was delicious, the service was fast and the environment felt very family friendly. I didn’t realize they served breakfast as well as donuts. The smothered burrito and the biscuits and gravy were so good. Highly recommended, support small family owned businesses!

I placed an order on the phone at 11:16am for pickup. Before hanging up, she told me they were closing at 12. I live around the corner, no problem. I approach the door with my 4-year - old at 11:40 and a young lady opens to tell me the grill is closed and I tell her I have to pick up to let me in. I wait at the counter for at least 5 minutes while another lady tries to figure out/verbally stresses out about ringing up a previous order for someone which is no where to be seen. After she finally finishes, she looks up a and says Hi, how can I help you? I point to the order that has been placed next to get on the counter with the ticket sitting next to it and start to tell her what it is after it took her a second to realize. She finds that someone put ham on one of my meals that did not come with it and starts to yell back Who wrote this ticket up? I was trying to tell her I didnt care how she rang it up, just as long as I could get out of there quicker and it she seemed to get an attitude at the end when I told her I dont care how much it costs as long as I could get out of there!I did not feel welcome from the moment I stepped up to the place and felt even less welcome and more like they wanted to kick me out. I got back to my house before 12:00(their closing time). Ive never had any problems coming here before but this kind of experience makes me never want to come back again.*edit*I was hoping my review would help the owners to address the issues that I encountered like professionals, not call me out as a customer, lie about what I said, and review my own visit to their store. What is a review for, if not to improve? Its hard to believe that you know anything about my personality when you didnt even pay the slightest attention to me until it was convenient for you. I never cursed at anyone and its sad that you would have to lie on a customer to make yourself look better. Im competed disappointed.Also, if your goal is to anger your upset customers further, then please keep replying to negative reviews with your own horrible attitude and opinions. This is obviously a page for you to review your customers and not for people to review your business.

My husband and I walked in at 11:45, and we were turned away because the griddle was closed. The women said there was a sign on the door but there wasn’t. If you’ve changed your hour’s, then change google and your door. I was a little turned off because the door and google said you were open until 1:00pm. It was going to be our first time in, but I’m not sure we will be back.

If I could them less than no stars this place is a -3. I ordered a simple meal and requested turkey sausage as I do not eat pork or beef went as far as call to confirm before placing my order. Food arrives issue 1. missing apple fritters issue 2. as I remove the trays I find a little yellow note sorry we do not carry Turkey sausage . Upon opening the tray with the eggs figuring if they dont have Turkey sausage then my meal will be lacking sausage, but to my surprise there were 2 slightly browned to perfection sausage sitting right no top of my eggs. When I called and asked what kind of sausage is this on my eggs I was told regular sausage meaning the person who answered the phone has no clue what kind of meat is used after reaching out to I guess someone who said they believe it is pork I requested a refund for the food that I didnt an was told an I quote aye we just cook the food thats all I hate this place way to fudge up breakfast!

Eh, I came in late and ordered to go there were not many donuts left which I understand but we did not even get the donuts we ordered. By the time we got to the car and realized they weren’t there and went back in all the donuts were gone. We also got breakfast sandwiches and an order of potatoes the sandwiches were underwhelming and greasy, and according to my sister the potatoes were not seasoned at all. Also the water we got for our teas tasted like trash water. Good to try neighborhood business, but will not return and do not recommend.

What kind of breakfast place stays closed on a Monday? I guess they just don’t want business. OH WELL YOUR LOSS on to ihop who never close.

We haven’t been here for a few years since we moved from the area. It looks like there’s different owners and employees. We were not pleased with service at ALL food didn’t taste the same, coffee was HORRIBLE, they had the best coffee around I would come here just for the coffee. The lady working behind the counter was rude! It’s sad to say I won’t be coming back here again...

Update. It sounds like it was a training issue with the cashier. They changed systems (which I could not have known).I wasnt able to talk directly to Jennifer, but I did speak with the shift manager, and she made good on Jennifers promise. Ill update this again in a month or so, as I get donuts somewhere on a fairly regular basis, and I endeavor to be fair in my reviews.

This place is amazing. Its more than just donuts they serve breakfast as well. Everyone was friendly and the customers inside eating were clearly happy with smiles. Hands down, the worst donuts I have ever had. They tasted 3 days old. They were dry and heavy and basically inedible.

ETA: I’ve changed my rating from 3 stars to 1 because restaurant owners who respond to their negative reviews on the defensive are super unprofessional and weird. We didn’t go into the restaurant at all and never have because we’ve only ordered using DoorDash so the response from the owner saying that they remember us is completely false. We haven’t eaten here since my review and definitely won’t be in the future considering how the owner is responding to reviews and gaslighting customers to sound crazy for their bad experiences. Yikes.We’ve ordered DoorDash from here a couple times and have always been disappointed with the flavor of their food. Today we ordered the huevos rancheros and the smothered breakfast burrito and both completely lacked any kind of flavor or spice from the chile. Their donuts are good but I wouldn’t recommend the Mexican food.

Wow. We’ve been trying to get a bear claw from this place for months and they’re always sold out. We FINALLY get a couple of them this morning, had to reserve them over the phone and guess what?! It turned out to be a glazed donut filled with sickeningly sweet apple jelly filling. Do you people even know what a bear claw is? Allow me to enlighten you: Bear claw definition - a sweet, almond-flavored breakfast pastry made with yeast dough and shaped in an irregular semicircle resembling a bears claw. What a disappointment

My dad loves this place. It really is a mom and pops restaurant where they have a full breakfast menu and bring the food out to you. They do have donuts as well. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is comfortable and easygoing. Usually the clientele is retired folk, and its nice to relax, eat and talk with family here

Great little “hole in the wall” breakfast joint. Very nice staff. I got a dozen donuts from here. I’ll be honest; they were good. However I would not say good enough to justify the price. Nevertheless, nice place with good food and good people.

I ordered a 1/2 dozen doughnuts online to be delivered to my pregnant daughter (I live an hour away and wasnt able to deliver myself). Not only did they honor my request of 2 chocolate doughnuts with sprinkles for her they wrote a congratulatory note on it that made her day! Made me feel great that even though I cant be with her right now someone else understood the importance of her cravings and took the time out of their day to make her day extra special ❤️. I used to come here when I was a kid! So last Sunday the 3rd I came in at 6:15am thinking I was going to get fresh warm donuts! Not the case at all. Almost stale they tasted! So now I’m going to go clear out of my way and try the other location

I love this place. I come from a rural area where everyone knows everyone, and I finally found a spot that feels like home. The staff lights up when they see my family and they know us by name. The food is great and the coffee is amazing. Its my Saturday morning sweet spot!

My family and I come here multiple times a week and have been for a couple of years now. You wont find a friendlier breakfast place. It has a small town diner feel in a big city and we have never had a bad breakfast.

This used to be a great place for breakfast. It was our go to destination almost every Sunday. Unfortunately it no longer is. The staff is super rude. I’m been in there maybe 3 times over the last 4 months and each time has been worse then the visit before. It’s a shame because this used to be a favorite.

They know the difference between over-easy and over-medium; a rarity even at breakfast joints. It could use a remodel, but the staff is great and great apple fritters.

The food is nothing special, it taste good but wont wow you. The big highlight is that the staff here is extremely friendly and make you feel welcome. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to eat breakfast and not get bogged down by feeling rushed this is a wonderful spot to stop in and relax.

Good food, not the fastest service, but I wasnt in a hurry. Eggs cooked as I liked, French toast was good. All my food looked better than friends Hamburger and fries.

Great breakfast place to enjoy either homemade donuts, or breakfast entrees. Ive never been by around lunchtime, but I think they might be open until 2 and may serve lunch. Looks like its owned by a family, everyone is very nice, and delivers quick, efficient service. My husband swears by their breakfast sandwich and Ive tried to duplicate it, but failed.

Want breakfast that taste like breakfast? Instead of garbage places like iHop and VI, this is it! Absolutely the best breakfast that Ive had in a long time. Yes, service is a bit slow but I didnt mind they were doing everything they possible could with as many customers that they had with only 1 cook Im assuming! Will definitely be back!

An institution, serving up classic breakfasts since the 1980s, this location is a throwback. It CAN get busy and jammed up on weekends during peak hours, so just be aware of that. But on off hours or weekdays it’s a relaxing retro spot to relax.

We happen to live about a block from Daylight and have gone a couple times a week for 4 years!! This is a divey little restaurant with home cookin style food and we absolutely treasure it. We know all the staff very well and love feeling so welcome here. The coffee and doughnuts are great too!
