Food was delicious. Oh the fried chicken was the best. Taste like home. Definitely eat there again when I visit. Price was surprisingly low. Wonderful variety even for any vegetarian/ vegans.
My family have used there banquet facilities several times in the past for large parties or events but recently had a dinner after our aunts funeral. Everyone was so kind and accommodating to our family. Our waitress was amazing and the food was great. Thanks for your kindness and hospitality! It was like being at home with family. The food was good not great. The service was excellent. It was a bit pricy. I just cant see charging $2.75 for a glass of tea or cola. Thats just my opinion. Nice decor and lighting.

Id like to start off by saying the food was good and the restaurant was clean. However, the experience was unacceptable. I had never been to MCL before this point, and the first thing noticed upon entering the establishment was what appeared to be the front food line manager berating a female employee. The situation was loud and in front of customers. His actions were unprofessional and presented a very negative dining atmosphere and work environment. He also snatched the tongs out from her hand from across the food line and was banging them on the tray rail while yelling. From the outside looking in, it seemed to be that the whole situation was due to the chicken not being displayed properly. Who knew improper chicken placement was so important that it deems putting down your employees during business hours in front of customers! All in all the experience was really awkward and off-putting, but the food was alright.
We arrived about 2:30pm on a Sunday. Food was hot and tasted good. Really good service! Only negative, and ehy I didn’t give 5 stars, was it’s expensive. I got fried chicken and 2 hot sides, side salad, drink and dessert and was over $21!

We order delivery. We did not receive the cornbread, the slaw tasted bad, and there is no bottom to the Cherry Pie. When we call to let them know, they told us that it was the doordash delivery drivers fault, he said it could be, and we pointed out that it was not the drivers fault that they cut off the entire bottom part of the pie when they gave it to us. A picture of the pie is included. MCL took no responsibility for the poor service that was delivered to us for $40 and we will not be going back. Remind yourself that piece of pie thats in the picture cost us $3.70.
Food good prices ok. The foyer in front of MCL was very hot and made the eating area of the restaurant warm if u was near windows

On 8/10/2021 We approached the line the male food line manager yelled and berated a female employee over the way the fried chicken was displayed in the heating tray. He pointed the tongs at her in a threatening manner and slammed something down. It was honestly shocking to see, my group and I were speechless. I dont even speak to animals like that.
Customer service was great other than the woman that was running the cash register. We bought an entre that was supposed to have 2 sides included for $7 and change. So when my bill came to over $30.00 I was surprised. I asked her why we were charged for the entre separate and then each side was $2 and change, she said the special was no longer running even though it was posted as a special. I think if you dont order the specials their prices are outrageous. The food is great!! Just beware of the prices.

Home cooked food for a single dude who doesnt like to cook for one!Last time I went they had fried cauliflower which of all the fried veggies, is my favorite (and its hard to find!)Also I would like to point out that staff was very friendly, and all were doing their part to stay as aSafe as possible during this covid-19 nonsense.Ill surely be going againAlso I do wish they would bring back their chicken fried steak,and not just as a special, because OH MY GOD the bacon grease gravy is THE BEST!!!! 17 out of 5 stars

The food is good usually. But! Today, March, 3rd at about 3pm the lady who put my food together was greedy! And the broccoli was not hot, it was not even warm and my entree was really small, I had more broccoli then spaghetti, I work real hard for my money and mcl is not cheap! You need someone who knows portion control, today was a real let down.
Great staff....but dry chicken, no taste to mac n cheese, salad was 25% water...at least the diet Pepsi and cinnamon was good.

I am not sure why there are any bad reviews here at all. This is by far one of the best restaurants in Terre Haute. The food is excellent and the staff go out of their way to help you. I have been going here since I was young and their first location was at the Honey Creek Mall. The price is reasonable for delicious home cooked food. The sweet tea is the best!

The service and food are great! This is a cafeteria style restaurant so you get to choose the items. There is a lot to choose from and they always have a daily pick that is reduced to help save you money. The also have pie night where pies are only 99 cents. They also have reduced size plates that save you money. Just ask and they will help you.
Very pleasant atmosphere for a cafeteria. Good food with a nice selection, nice breads and desserts, wonderful iced tea . Waiter will help you to your table if needed and serve you once you have your food. A bit pricey to add side dishes; but overall, a good place to eat.

Disgusting. Stove top stuffing, turkey roll and gravy is too salty. Go buy Banquet frozen dinner, it will taste better and cost 1/4 of what they charge. Manager is terrible and I will never return.

Good variety of food, people seem to really like the chicken. The Cobb salad is good, might need a bowl to mix it. If you need help with your tray for yourself, or children, the will take it to your table for you. They offer some senior portions.
The food is not good. I told the manager about my experience. But, it just wasnt this time, its every time. Everything tastes the same. Its usually cold by the time you get to your table. Its the same menu every day. My dinner yesterday was awful. The meat and gravy was not the real thing and the gravy was out of the can taste and very thick.You have gone DOWN in your food! and please get some new food items. Coffee is usually no good . Strong! I come at least 1 time a week, and maybe its time to find a new restaurant. I come out to get a good supper and enjoy the time there, but when the food is awful, you eat it anyway and leave. I could say more but you see what is wrong with this restaurant. What Ive said doesnt even touch it. Oh, and the chicken is touch and go, sometimes its raw, with blood in it. I am not sorry for this, been wanting (and others also) to say this for a very long time. Running a successful restaurant takes time and love for the process.

A friend and I had a delicious meal at our Terre Haute MCL yesterday late afternoon June 22, 2019. The food was absolutely delicious, and the employees are so friendly, gracious and helpful. Very clean restaurant ! I can hardly wait to go again.

Food was just barely warm, it is never hot, usually have to have someone warm it up. In their defense it was closing time when I got there. Everyone was trying to clean up and get out so I just ate and ran tonight. However the food was good. Just not hot enough.

Bit expensive, but great food cafeteria style. You head down the line and pick what dishes you want. From salad to main course to even dessert. And pay at the end of the line. Very clean and the staff has always been attentive. There is a bakery I havent yet tried at the back.

Food was good, but needed to be hotter. We have found that if you eat here even a hour Pryor to the closing time. Food is just warm or cold.
