Brian and Nathan literally saved my family from driving back to north Carolina in a hot car! we made it all the way to Terre Haute to visit friends and our AC compressor went out, we bought a new one, the guys at Midas charged our ac system and the new ac compressor seized! They got us in first thing in the next morning to swap it out and fix it! They were amazing! Went to Midas Friday and talked to Nathan about doing my catalytic converters. Saturday we dropped off the truck to get it done. Saturday after picking it up there was a bad smell, they had put JB weld and the welds were bad. The JB Weld had melted off and there was a loud exhaust leak. My husband had called asking about the job, he was told they did the best they could. We called corporate and my husband got a call back asking how they can make it right. They got the truck in and done today within a few hours. The leak is gone, spacers were put it, and the job was done right. 4 star instead of a 5 star because at first it was dismissed and not taken care of the right way and the we talked to Saturday after the work was done and there was some attitude. However, they fixed there mistake and got it done right.

Store #2632 in Terre Haute Indiana owner Brian. I had right side wheel bearing done. After driving the car the noise due to the wheel bearing return and got louder. I when in because of the wheel noise and paid ove $700. and now I still have the wheel bearing problem. I don’t recommend Midas to anyone.

I’ve been to Midas several times over the last few months for some routine maintenance. They are always super friendly and helpful, and I always feel like they’re being fair and honest. I have checked their prices with several family members, one of whom being a mechanic himself, and they said they were exactly right. Brian at the front desk is so incredibly nice, and he was very helpful in telling me what I needed to do now and what could wait until my next paycheck. They do great work and I’ve had no issues with anything they’ve replaced or repaired.

I knew I needed a rear wheel bearing replaced, but I was moving from Missouri to Massachusetts and ran out of time. I set off Sunday night and made it to Illinois. Once I hit 70 East, the sound of that bearing got worse and worse. I stopped a couple of place but couldnt get it. I called Midas in Terre Haute and spoke to Brian. He found me an appointment about the time I would hit Terre Haute and promised to try and get me out in a timely manner. I almost passed him by, thinking I could stop in NY state, but he said something that stuck with me If its that loud, you may not make it that far.What service. Wow. I got there, the car went immediately into the shop. The tech brought the bearing out to show that it was within hours of seizing. Brian said I probably wouldnt have made it out of Indiana without breaking down on the side of the road. He and his tech rather saved my life...As someone who works with service departments across the US, this is one of the good ones, with some of the good guys.Thanks!

I dont live in Terre Haute. My son is at school there. His brake caliper came loose and locked up the wheel. Brian looked at it, replaced the 2 missing bolts and didnt over charge us at all! I know where we will be sending our cars for repairs when they are in Terre Haute. Id like to give a big THANK YOU! to Brian and Midas. This is how you treat people.

These guys are the best. They always manage to get me in quick with my company vehicle and get it done right then no matter what I need. I had an alternator put on 4 months ago that went bad, and they were able to get me right in, and replace it for free parts & labor because it was under warranty. 5 stars for sure.

I went to Midas for a wheel alignment. I was told I needed a tie rod and two ball joints replaced before the wheels could be aligned. Which was roughly another $300 on top of the wheel aleignment.Ii took the car to Dons automotive the check the tie rods and wheel bearings. The were fine nothing wrong with them. Midas was trying to RIP me off for another $300. Be very leery of this place they are not honest.

DAMAGED MY CAR!!! Owner tried to downplay it and offered me a grand cash not to turn it into his insurance. They jacked my car up wrong on its painted body and were oblivious to why i was upset..like oh its fine up to 3k worth of damage his insurance paid me 1500...do not go trust me they dont have a clue as to what they are doing let alone how to loft a car up... corporate NEVER called me back also..but enjoy the insurance premiums.

This shop and group of men were amazing!!! I had never been to a Midas before today and they really showed up to do their jobs today. I came in short notice and asked them to look at my brakes since Ive noticed really bad grinding. They booked me in and set me up very quickly with an appointment. They immediately assessed my car and noticed that my driver side front wheel was about to blow off of the car. When they came back to tell me and give me an estimate for my car, they helped me get the best deals possible while still making me safe to drive. They changed my brake pads and rotors, my oil, and my two tires without any hesitation to make me the safest I possibly could be. Thank you to everyone that helped out and dealt with me and my car today.

The price for the oil change was super cheap. That was about the only thing good about it. The guy at the desk, Brian, was very unfriendly. However, the mechanic was very nice (unsure of his name). I was also surprised when they didnt do anything like air up the tires or refill fluids like windshield wiper fluid. Usually that is a common thing done with oil changes. Great if you want a super cheap price, but otherwise I will probably go somewhere else next time. Even places like Walmart rotate the tires, air them up, and check/fill fluids without an additional charge.

Great experience! Very friendly workers, Emily at the front desk especially. Took me in for an oil change right away and were able to do my rear brakes after finding out they were almost metal to metal. Did all of this in a very reasonable time. Would recommend!

Always have a great experience here. Between getting brakes done on my old car to just having an oil change on the new one, theyve always treated me well. The brakes that I had put on were fantastic and very reasonably priced for our area. The oil changes are always quick and done very well. Ive never had any issues with this center and Ive been coming here for 3 years now. Fair prices and really great friendly staff!

They broke our oil tube

Went in for an oil change. It was supposed to include a tire rotation. Went down the street to wait while they worked on it. Upon return I asked if the tires were rotated. The man said they didnt need to be, and gave me what I felt was an excuse. Ok. I asked if they checked the tire pressure. The man said yes. Upon returning home I checked them myself. They were different pressures and one was low. Dont mess around when youre supposed to be providing a service.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Got an oil change and my tires rotated and they did it in a very reasonable amount of time! My car is driving more wonderful than it was before! Will definitely be back!

Got new pads and rotors here today. Brian the owner was very honest and helpful. Didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. Price was much cheaper than everywhere else I called. They also stayed open late one time to help my mom out when her brakes went out at the beginning of a long trip.

Giving 3 * as they stayed and finished the work on my car before completely closing. I understand labor costs and material costs as I run a store. That said costs also include quality. Had them replace some exhaust components which required some welding. Sadly they booger welded it crooked, so it will probably need cut off and redone. Which if I wanted booger welds after 3 hours of work I could have done that myself. At least it would have been straight and would have saved quite a bit of money.

I was in a bind after running over something in the road and my tires going flat. I love in Indy and was trying to get to my wedding in St. Louis and needed tires fast. They worked their schedule around me and the delivery time from the tow truck. I really appreciate them understanding my urgency and helping me during this stressful time. Very friendly as well!

Took my car in for brakes about 2 weeks ago and spent quite a bit of money (which was to be expected). I have revisited 2 times since for slight issues. Staff was friendly and responsive. The owner even personally drove my car to figure out what the problem could be. All issues have been resolved and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Listening to and respecting the customers is a priority here!

Overcharged for brake service. Didnt examine the rotors causing a second shop to have to redo the work.

I just called on a Friday afternoon to see if they could squeeze me in tomorrow morning at 10am to check my squealing brakes. Knowing it was last minute and on a Saturday, I doubted I would get an appointment. But Emily on the phone was great, cheerful, and confirmed that I was ok to come at 10am. So...good start so far...Im hopeful my visit tomorrow goes well (I will be sure to provide a review of that).##UPDATE: I went in on Saturday at 10am and the place was packed. But they kept my appointment time and I had new brake pads installed within 1 hour. Very happy with the service I received.

Had exhaust work done on my fathers truck because everyone else in town was booked. I dont know if these folks are certified in welding. But if they are, they did a very poor weld job. Carelessly placed spot welds instead of a solid clean bead. They didnt even weld the full diameter of the exhaust pipe leaving a void large enough for an exhaust leak. It was a simple job. And for what I paid, i talked to Carmichaels and a-z and i could have had true duals ran with nice exhaust tips. Way over priced for the work they arent cut out for. Go to a REAL exhaust shop and get it done right. Dont trust the midas touch !

Please read before you take your vehicle here! Terrible service and cheap parts! My mom had new brakes and rotors put on 10 months ago. She paid almost $800, ouch. Now the brakes are already squealing and grabbing. They completely ripped of a hardworking lady. The lifetime warranty DOES NOT cover labor, make sure you read the fine print. They hesitated on telling me that before they were going to jack the car up and inspect the brakes. Some warranty. They want at least $50 to put on the same cheap brake pads thatll start squealing in another 10 months. Take your car some where else. These people are predators preying on hard working people. So hard to find a good honest mechanic!

Took my vehicle in for a diagnostic test today. My appointment was at 330pm i arrived at the store around 310 went inside and brian ( i think thats his name lol ) assisted me immediately. I got in early and what they said would take a half hour only took about 15 minutes. Very impressed by the service here. Also i just wanna add that my 1 year old lost her shoe in their waiting room and the man took the time out of his busy work day to call me and inform me that i had left it. Will definitely keep going here. You should too :)

I went to Midas this past Saturday to get my spark plugs fixed. When I got back into my car and started it my check engine light was on. I went back to see if they could check there work and I had some miscommunication with the lady at the front desk. I wrote a review and the manager got back to me ASAP. He scheduled me to come in so they can take a look at their work and what was going on. They truly want to help and make sure to take care of all of their customers. I would recommend Midas to anyone who is having car problems and is looking to actually have that problem solved and taken care of. They do a great job of making sure the customer is satisfied.

Good for being a Midas. I take my fleet car here for regular service intervals. Sometimes they take a lot longer than expected to start, even if I have an appointment.

Had major brake issues. I was in the shop two hours after I called and left within an hour with four new brakes!

Went in to get a tire plugged and the next morning it was flat again. Had to get enough air in it to go back and find out they plugged the wrong tire... This explains why they didnt put the hubcap back on the bad wheel like I asked the day before. Figured theyd bend over backwards to fix it at that point but they refused to plug the bad tire because of the location so I had to buy a new tire and asked them to put my bad tire in my trunk which they forgot to do and I had to go back for. Have plugged that tire myself since and using as a spare. Horrible service from people who dont listen and make you feel like you shouldnt be there bothering them.

Went there to go get new wires because one was misfiring. I tell them I need new wires they tell me I need wires and plugs and its gonna be $300 I dont get the work done there but they still charge me for their test(the same test autozone does for free) even though I told them what was wrong. I go somewhere else and they tell me all I need is wires. They fix it for half and my car is running just fine. Midas is all about money could care less about actually helping you. Telling you you need something you dont is stealing and ripping off their customers as far as Im concerned.

I took my vehicle there because I was having issues with my 4WD. They gave me a price, and I thought ok it isnt too bad. I saved up to get this taken care of, and made an appointment they gave me a different price much higher than the last. I didnt have that paper with me, and not really certain where it was. My thought was you would think they would have it on record. I paid the extra money. I went back to them, because my husband said he never had a problem before. I figured I would give them another chance I paid for brand new tires through them. I have had issues 4 times now with having a hole in the tire the same tire. I have only had them a couple months. It isnt their fault I ran something over by no means, but I have never had issues with tires not even old worn out tires! I guess the tread or whatever wasnt that great. I am not an expert in tires, but they should back their products if it is only a couple more months old!! I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE EVER AGAIN!!!

The wife and I made a 3 hour long journey to camp near turkey run state park, during our journey the a/c shroud blew off the camper (It is now destroyed), we bought a pop up awning that was full of holes from Wal-Mart, our original campground screwed up our reservation, then the icing on the cake....a horrible grinding when i hit the brake pedal! I called Midas in Terre Haute, They got me in right away and fixed the problem! Kudos gentlemen!!! They made a bad situation a lot better (Did I mention that we are 3 hours from home on a holiday weekend pulling a camper with no brakes on the truck??) If the owner of this Midas is reading this.....drop them boys a little something extra in their Christmas cards this year. 😉

Seeing all these one star reviews left me surprised. Went in for an oil change, friend had a bad alternator (were rose students). They were very honest, let me know about a front strut problem (but let me know it didnt need to be done immediately), so thatll get taken care of later. Also gave my buddy a fair price on a new alternator. My recommendation to all the one star people is to not be so silly when getting your car fixed. Always get a second opinion, shop around town to get the best price. No one is forcing you to pay more (although Im sure you got a fair price) and Midas gives you all the prices up front.

I got lazy one day and didn’t want to change my brakes myself. That was a $600 mistake I regret!I was very adamant that all I wanted was brake pads, nothing more and I told them that from the start. The manager came and talked to me once saying my rotors were rusty. Of course they are rusty, they are rotors, so I ask “are they excessively low or worn on one side?” The manager seemed upset that I even questioned his infinite knowledge and experience and replied “No they are just rusty so if they make noise I can’t guarantee our work.” So I told them to leave the rotors alone. A short time later the manager brings me into the shop to show me the calipers. He shows me the rubber on the plunger and it looks like someone took a screwdriver to them and just tore them apart! I’ve never seen a caliper look so bad in my entire life it was shredded! Needless to say I feel duped and I truly do believe they had one of their techs destroy my caliper plunger just to make extra money

ZERO STAR!!! Well lets first start with the actual job done here. I had full brake replacement of everything but front rotors and brake booster. Here is were my real issue starts. I recieved the truck back and didnt notice till I had gotten home that the door lock/window switches were pushed into the door panel and out of place, it is mid February I wasnt rolling the windows down just noticed as I was opening the door to get out. I called and the owner as claimed said that he test drove it and it seemed fine when he looked at it. However these are lies because he would have had to of looked at it to roll the window down because the window button has to be pressed down to go up and vice versa, I still have to look to make sure Im pressing the right one and I have had the truck forever. He said that he would put it back in place but if the door panel needed new door fasteners that I would have to pay for them! The door panel wouldnt have needed taken off if they had not pushed in the switches! Such terrible customer service! Wish I could give a ZERO STAR!

Our truck was VANDALIZED then STOLEN from the Terre Haute Midas parking lot so be advised you may not want your vehicle there over night. Midas claimed no responsibility since we had paid our $1250 repair bill by credit card over the phone, saying once the bill is paid they are not responsible and we were told their insurance agent said they arent liable.The first night parked outside someone broke the window out and ransacked the interior and stole contents of the truck, and the next night the truck was stolen. Guess the thief felt comfortable enough to come two nights in a row and spend enough time in their parking lot replacing the battery to steal it.Oh yes, no security cameras. Just be advised.I only give it one star because you have to give a rating.- $1250 + - the truck=worst repair job ever!

100% dishonest management. Will be filling complaint with State Bureau of Motor Vehicle, attorney generals office & BBB complaint. Waiting to joining class action lawsuit. Brought 1ton truck in for full brake inspection. Informed Manager that truck was hauling 33 trailer. Needed complete inspection and estimate. Estimate stated needed rear brakes, and 1 bearing seal. $440.00. That very night brake fluid found under truck. Called manager. Manager said take truck to any Midas dealship and work will be honored. Took to next Midas. New estimate states both wheel cylinders need replaced and master brake cylinder needs replaced. (note manager quoted repairs needed in writing without opening hood or even removing rear tires to inspect brake system. Estimateover $950.00) No mention of wheel cylinders or master brake cylinder at first midas location. Midas took what money they could and claimed vehicle was road worthy. My family could have lost their lives due to Brians, service manager Negligence. Midas, one more former customer. Follow up post: Manager from 1st Midas calls, states that he knew wheel cylinders needed to be replaced, but because wife was concerned about trip being cancelled due to extensive brake repair, did not add wheel cylinders repair to estimate. To add insult to injury, I personally spoke to manager over phone once all work was completed and wife was driving truck back to 33 trailer. I explained again we had 18,000 rig and traveling mountains across country, wanted to know in his professional opinion if the vehicle passed inspection and safe for trip. The manager gave me his professional statement the vehicle Was good to go. This manager risked my familis lives and those of other motorists for a few hundred dollars. This was a criminal action, and will not be over looked. Update. Used Midass contact form, requested response_none. BBB attempted to resolve issue, owner of Terra Haute Midas generated a few sentences of falsehoods to BBB and refused further contact. Next step is Attorney Generals office.

CAUTION! RIP OFF ARTISTS! This shop claimed that all four of my rotors needed replaced, the back drums were locked up, and the front brakes needed replaced. They said it would cost nearly $400! They warned that with the back drums being locked up, they might break a wheel cylinder or something, so if that happened that would cost more. When I asked what it would cost to only do the front, they gave me a quote of $279. I refused to allow them to do the work. The next day, I took my van to Steve Fishers Auto Service in North Terre Haute. Steve said the rotors only needed turned, the back was 70% still good, and he replaced the front brakes. He broke a lug bolt and replaced it. HE CHARGED ME $169 total! He even showed my husband all the parts after the fact. Midas can get bent! Worst 20 bucks I ever spent! I want my money back!!!!

Horrible! Took my car in for an oil change and they failed to replace the oil cap which led to my engine locking up. As a college student it will be extremely difficult to absorb the $2700 they have costed me. When I tried to explain to them what happened they denied all culpability and were rather rude in fact, when I asked for a number to call they recommended my lawyer. Needless to say I will never go to a Midas again, especially this one, and I recommend everyone take their business elsewhere.

I went to get my brakes checked here, because the diagnosis was cheap. They pulled my back tire off to find that my whole drum, and a few other brake parts were missing. They were going to chrage me over $700 to fix it. I said no and did some research to find that the parts i need are only $200. They are WAY overpriced. After they put my tires back on, they put the hub cap on one of my tires just right to let air out. I got about 2 miles before my tire was completely flat. I heard hissing so i thought i had a popped tire. When i pulled the cap off the hissing stopped. Theyre awful, and dont know what theyre doing.On a side note the car i have i bought fromoneof they guys who works there and it was a bad choice on my part because the car needs parts and the brake problem fixed and he didnt tell me about it saying the car was fine.

They charged me over $600 to replace the starter in my car! I had to get it done because I was not from the town. After getting home and doing research, the price for a new starter is $235 for my car! They charged me $469 for the part! Worst of all, they screwed me over and I was in military uniform!!!

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS REVIEW. IT IS FOR SURE WORTH IT!!!!!Well, the first time I went to see these guys, they took a look at my car and said the reason for it starting sometime and not other times was because of my battery. Mind you I bought the battery less than four years ago or no more than four. Anywho, took it to a couple other places and found it was my starter, my battery tested fine at every other shop besides Midas! So, I go again to take my car and this time its my muffuler pipe that rusted and fell apart leaving the muffler hanging from the middle of the car. According to Midas again I need this whole new brake line! Front ends and so forth. Go to two new places and Terre Haute and get told the same thing at those two places but completely different from Midas. Prices for the battery were in between $90-$120 plus the $30 something dollar fee. Got my starter put in with for free of course with warranty at one of the other shops. They only wanted $100-$150 with out it. For the brake lines and muffler today the total was $780+ before taxes. Go down the street and spend less than $50 for what the problem really was. Even after an estimate from FOUR different shops, somehow Midas tops it by even going over $600. I come to find out by many today while visiting different shops for estimates that, the tall guy Ryan is the owner and his daughter who calculates all the lovely prices at the desk on the computer, with his wife somewhere involved ..all get a cut of commission. It may be true, may not be but where else do these RIDUCULOUS prices come from? The prices dont even cost that much in Auto Parts stores! Take it how you want people, but believe me, those prices are crazy and those people can careless. Have a nice one, hope this is helpful!

When unable to fix my exhaust system the way I suggested the manager had another way to do it.I said ok and went down the street for lunch. Upon return my vehicle was fixed and I was charge 0 for repair. Manager said it was free because he couldnt do it my way.

Brian is very rude and condescending not to mention he will charge you for things that are not wrong with your car he told us it would cost $1,500.00 to fix our air and all we needed was free-on if you take your car to him with a problem he will over charge you and look for unesassry things to fix just to make a quick buck if you value the money you work for you will not take your car to him for any reason

The fact that it took 3 times for them to fix the same seal over and over, it was honestly sad.
