Both public bathrooms have been closed for weeks now. Seems like a billion dollar company like Safeway could have these back up and running quickly. Plus many normal items not in stock. Very disappointing

I don’t like every Safeway location, but I love this one. I only stopped in for a couple things and I took a couple photos while there.

This is a really good store it is a big one of the bigger locations and it has a bit of everything its really organized and they have really great Tennessee fried Chicken the store manages they are really friendly and is a laid back environment I really like this particular location Safeway as well as Safeway stores so check it out

I recommend ⭐️ when I’m in a crunch and need a custom cake made that’s not too $$$ I go here!Pros: specifically talking about the bakery... I like their cakes bc they can do pretty much anything you ask for such a great price. I typically get at least 24 cupcakes, a small custom 5” cake, and a large sheet cake all for less than $50. Having variety like this at a party is amazing and also helps make the party look even cuter with them all matching the theme. You dont need much notice to have your cakes made & you can bring your own toppers if you want for the cake decorator.Cons: the only con I feel is that you don’t get many options when it comes to cake flavor and inner cream flavor.

Awesome deals, excellent staff. If you come at the wrong time over the weekend, lines might be a 10-20 mins wait due to understaffing. Otherwise, I highly suggest this location. It is always clean!!

I always enjoy this safeway. The people shopping there are...well nice to be around. Safeway always has a great selection and the meat and produce have always been fresh.

Clean store not to busy, the staff is always super helpful, good produce, a real meat department with a butcher on staff. If I could come up with a negative I can only think that they are a little bit more expensive than Walmart or Frys.

Their fruit and deli is better than other grocery stores in the area but I just can’t understand the layout. I think grocery stores have no rhyme or reason to where they stock things so you have to walk down every aisle.

They have top rated balsamic vinaigrette from nutritionist best of list! Always 💕 alternate dairy items like oat milk and egg whites as well as multiple frozen food choices that are tasty low calorie meals and great produce.

Talked to Ashley in the Deli on the phone she was super awsome and helpful she made me a fresh batch of salt and vinegar wings !

This is a huge store and the students are back in town and the lines were like Christmas in the 60s. Considering how much business they do I wish that they would increase the number of varieties. I know that that decreased after Albertsons bought them but with so many International students?

Last time I was there the shoplifting and police have caught 2 separate families trying to buy food and diapers for their babies. Times are hard, I know. But there are programs out there in which you can get Essential items for your babies and not risk getting a misdemeanor and a $900 fine for. Go to StrongFamiliesAZ.com and seek out help. I live near by and frequent this store often as their weekly sales are great. The store is very clean and well kept. The staff are nice and quick. Being in a college town, it may be busy at certain times of the week. The butcher is very friendly! 4/5 stars because one check out guy always gives me issues every single time and is terrible at customer service.

Good experience shopping there as David the butcher guy helps when I need it or points out what I was looking for, Thomas S. who worked in the deli gave excellent advice on my purchase for sushi. Friendly people there. Also give shout outs to Arlene (cashier) Tom (courtesy clerk and shopping cart runner) and to Randy (I believe he is a stocker has English accent ) they always been helpful with me and thats why I keep coming back to Safeway been a loyal customer since 2000 and still go there to this day.

Nice store. Had store coupon for free signature select jerky, but after checking, snacks isles beer mecca, and soda Ilse as well as all cash register lanes, store doesnt sell it and employees knew nothing. Plus digital coupon didnt automatically lower my price when I submitted my loyalty program number. Had to use customer service to get my discount. Otherwise a good experience.

Disappointed. Very rude customer service in this location. Unprofessional, with no apology just ignored my concerns. Hope they will train their staff.

What I witnessed today disgusted me, I was standing next to a man who had an issue with the wrong price and the woman confronted him, blamed him for the error and the man apparently has a past with her, wow. Instead of just adjusting the price a manager came up to him and brought up an something for what I gather was a few years ago. The man said he apologized for that but the manager had refused, then another manager came over and asked him to leave, which he did, I GUARANTEE I wouldnt have in that situation. Both the cashier and the first manager were COMPLETELY in the wrong. YIKES, not sure Im coming back here, I mean did that cashier honestly falsely accuse that man of touching her???????

This store is near my home. I found some of the things on my list. My fault for hoping the other items would still be in stock on the last day of a sale. Though I heard theres been delivery issues. As close as this store is, Ill probably go back again.

It was a nice store, clean and not too busy when I went. The parking lot is a bit confusing and sketchy. The staff is interesting, not my favorite Safeway store but I love Albertsons cookies :)

This Safeway withheld purchased items from me. It is theft and I’m still looking into this. I don’t blame the entire company, just the individual in charge of package management. This person should be terminated!

Great selection including some low carb & health foods. The pricing, selection, and pre-cooked foods make it better than Frys or Walmart.

Gets 3 stars as it can be expensive. There are occasionally good sales on meat, but overall rather pricey.

This Safeway is by far the best in the area. I drive out of my way for a meat and fish counter with someone i can talk to. Prices still reasonable and can find a deal if you shop the sales. Adding coupons on your phone thing? Had never worked even once for me so if its on sale then great, if its a coupon I forget it!

When i went to Albertson brought a bag of Shrimp with noodle with flavors and another bag of Sesame Chicken when I got home & next night cook as it got frozen shrimp out to put on counter for a little bit before I open it ?? 10-15 mins my guessing as I pick up the bag I felt something strange & saw a drip on my shirt & 😲 it leaking I couldnt believe as my guessing from Albertson in frozen section sitting on the shelf can unattached as bag removed from the shelf torn a little bit as I saw what made me realized I had to return explain as they went ahead to exchange my bags as both of them and I was happy about there concern as my as well I dont accept that torn on the bottom of the bag it could be detained the food !? Yikes I want to feel safe after not getting food poison!? Please, look out yourself to pull something off the shelf to make sure your bag has no hole or torn from bottom of frozen food bags!!! 😊

This Safeway is immaculent, I must say that. Its still a bit stuffy and management is not very helpful. They would rather act as an almost enemy rather than humanitarian in spirit, and I just dont understand that. They seem to act as though I am bothering them if I ask a question or ask for help in anyway and have refused to help when they truly could have if they just put a bit of effort and had a little bit of concern. Its sad to see less and less of those types of acts of human kindness from businesses these days. I dont know if they really truly realize that they are setting the stage for everyone and its not a good one when you are not setting a very good standard for others. It makes all else fall short as well. Just an obvious opinion. Cant we all just be a little bit nicer? Being nice makes EVERYONE happier inside. Everyone...even you!

The clerk blew her nose and did not sanitize her hands afterwards before checking out my food. When I questioned her she just ignored me and pretended to talk to the next person in line (who was talking on her cell phone.) I told the store manager how disgusting it was. He assured me he would talk to the clerk.

Safeway Supermarket located in Tempe on the N/E corner of Rural Rd. & Broadway. (Close to the ASU campus) Is a Great store to shop for a Diverse, Quality and Wholesome Foods! They Offer a Great selection of Ethnic Foodstuffs (More than any other grocery stores in Comparison) and the Employees and Manger are Very Kind, Considerate &Helpful!! Clean and GREAT!! Produce as Well!!

With about 40 years of shopping for groceries I can predict before I walk into a store how busy the store will be inside. This prediction is based on history, time of day, day of the week and time of year. Why cant Safeway do the same AND STAFF THE STORE ACCORDINGLY !?!? The eternal lines at Safeway have prompted me to venture into Frys and other competitors. I may never go back to Safeway.

Bought 4 separate kinds of cider and as I was checking out the cashier Tala recommended me buying 2 more so I can pay less for 6 than for four. I liked it.! Great location, plenty of parking spots, huge selections.

They didnt let me use my gift card that I received online. They said I had to go and print it out next door at staples. And staples was closed and safeway was closing in 30 mins. I couldnt get food that night because they were closing. And i drove all the way there to get food because of my gift card. Its a shame that they dont allow scanning bar codes on your phone. When its 2021 everything is on our phones. (This is the only safeway that doesnt allow scanning gift cards on cell phones) all the other i been to so far do.

Would have rated five stars, were it not for the woman parked In The Fire Lane for half an hour - before leaving the vehicle, and then entering the store!.. all the while wearing scrubs.

I have had great experiences with this Safeway when shopping here. The place is very clean and has employees are eager to help you with your problem. I would suggest people to shop here, because you can get a great deal on food, whether it was in-store or on the app they have.

Safeway is a great local grocery they almost always have everything I need but you do have to pick and choose what you purchase but thats just always with grocery shopping. The best part about Safeway is their coupons I love the idea that online or with the app you can save coupons to your rewards account so when you scan your Safeway card or put in your phone number the coupon will automatically apply. Also some of The Safeway coupons are for incredible advertise sales such as $0.25 blueberries $0.25 strawberries free shredded cheese, You just have to check the app or add and see what coupons are available to you

The Deli is a great place for hot fast food!

Butchers are the best. The steaks are so fresh I can still hear them mooing and trimmed so nicely. Sushi up front is delicious and fresh.

I went in really quick to grab something to eat from the deli and was helped by a lovely gentleman named Dymond. He picked through the potato wedges to get me the freshest ones. Thank you for your kindness 🙏

I have been shopping at this location for a while now and it is a good location with helpful employees! The issue with this store is that every single time that you go there, prices at the registered are not the ones advertised in the store or when using coupons or deals. This has happened almost every single time I shop at this store. Aisle says one price but is not the one that shows after paying. Coupons that read on registered but are not applied on the system and you pay full price even it was on discount with safeway card. This has been the case for many products in store and I just do not think is right that the store pricing strategy changes people purchasing behavior based on lower but untruthful prices. This is a pattern. I have been shopping here for a year constantly and this is happening until today. This could be happening to several people in a day and with a multiplier of many products offered with price reductions, we can see this location taking in thousands of dollars like this. I do not agree with this and they should fix this. The amount of discount is little so a person just goes along but in a busy store like this one this could happen to many people.

Great deli and hot foods. Loved the vegies and fruit dept. They do need more registers open so you can get checked out quicker.

I was worried I might be pregnant so I stopped in here to grab a cheap pregnancy test and sneak into the bathroom with it, use it and flush it Like I would normally do. As I was walking into the store I stepped on a marble and fell forward into an older gentleman knocking him off balance. He fell into the road and was hit by a motorcyclist, the broke his collarbone, ulna and femur. I catiously took the test into the bathroom. Unfortunately I was pregnant, so I had to steal it this time to prove I was truly having a child. Bad went to worse and they caught me stealing the test. I said I brought it and they didnt buy it.(neither did I lol) Now that they require masks I can go back in. 4/5

Ive shopped here several times and the service is the worst. Today I was standing in line with a basket full of food and was denied service because I wasnt wearing a mask. Mind you the cashier had a large shield on the counter as a barrier between us. Nonetheless, she stepped back like I had the plauge and simply suggested I take over $200 in groceries to self check out. This was my absolute last time shopping here. I will go the extra mile to Walmart or Frys on southern.

I do most of my weekly shoppings here at this Safeway and never had an issue until TODAY. I am always thankful for groceries staffs and other front line workers to be serving us at these hard times but my experience today was just BAD. Most of the staff here are kind and friendly except for the cashier JEFF. 10000% would NOT recommend anyone get ringed up by Jeff. I let him know I am shopping for one of my family member as well so I need to do 2 separate transactions. He refused to ring me up for the second transaction and said, “bring that person in the store I’d love to meet them and ring them up”. I let him know that we are ALL currently still in a COVID PANDEMIC and it’s not safe for some of my high risk family members to leave the house so that’s why I’m shopping for them. At the end, I had to load everything back into the cart myself and go to self check out to do the transactions because Jeff over here wants me to bring high risk family members into the store to risk their health in order to do buy some groceries. I would highly suggest everyone to avoid Jeff at this Safeway. He is extremely rude, unreasonable, and clearly does not care about the pandemic that’s still ongoing. Of course, he did not apologize or pretend to give a fake apology. Nope. Thanks Jeff you are terrible.

While I appreciate all of the employees there, I would give it zero stars if I could. It is an actively dangerous environment and I feel so sorry for the employees who work there. There were several people maskless and obviously under the influence of something, getting into peoples personal space, and when a woman brought this up to him he just said he doesnt enforce masks in-store, despite Tempes mask mandate. The manager does not care about public safety, and several people I talked with confirmed this. I will not be going there again, both for my own safety and because it is obviously clear that the manager of this store doesnt care about the general public, his customers, or his employees.

Unacceptable, the long lines to get checked out.
