Horrible. No one answers the phone or returns phone calls. When I get the 800 U-Haul #, they hang up on me. I am supposed to get a hitch installed and it has been over a month with multiple contact attempts and no one will call me. They did take my money, though!

Crooks, overcharged us for two days the truck was only out from 8am - 546pm on 11/13. Double charged the $19.95 rate and the CDW. Call the store you cant get a hold of them because the forward to a national call center and they cant transfer you to the store (store doesnt answer). I have had other issues with this location before. Hell of a way to run you small business cheating your customers. If you have to use a u-haul dont use this location. These are franchises so other locations may have better business practices. Avoid 4406 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. I will be going through our credit card company who will reverse the charges. Maybe then they will contact me for the amount that is really owed. Remember if a company didnt take your card with a chip reader you have ALL the power. Charges are automatically reversed in the consumers favor.
This location will try to overcharge you. Their management and workers are so unprofessional. I moved out of a storage before the next due date and they knew it but still tried to charge me. They are pulling some type of illegal scam. U-Haul corporate need to investigate this location ASAP!!!
Unprofessional and rude. And then on top of it game is an empty uhaul and the inside looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months; and the smell was horrendous. And when I dropped my husband off to pick up the truck ( and planned on leaving so I wouldn’t leave my car there) yelled at him about where the car was.
DONT COME HERE! They waist your time and are unprofessional. They didnt call in advance to let me know that the technician was available to install my hitch at the scheduled time. They told me to come back later in the day, that the appointment would take 30 minutes and that they had no one scheduled.I arrived later and what should have been a 30 minute appointment took two hours, the technician stopped working on my car to work on someone elses and the staff was rude.Go somewhere else. This is the only location I will rent a truck from. The renting process always goes without a hitch ( no pun intended) and I rent from them a lot. If I do have an issue, they resolve it professionally. The employees here are always respectful and courteous. Keep in mind that the employees here are human so if you talk to them with respect, theyll bend over backwards to resolve any issue that may arise and probably give you a perk in the process
Both times I used this place I have had great customer service from the girls at the counter, the manager, and the guys outside. The first visit they went out of their way to find me the best alternative to a van because someone had not returned it when they were supposed to. They gave me the option of getting a van at another dealer or renting me a larger truck at the price of a van. I took the second option. A few weeks ago I rented a van for the day from the manager, and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be renting from them when I move to Jacksonville for grad school next year. Clean facility and after hours return.

I dropped my U-Haul trailer off at this location. It was very easy to find and I love how you just pull up to the stop sign and someone comes out to help unhook you. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and unhooked my trailer quickly and got me on my way fast. I had a great experience and would recommend this location to anyone.
Change reservation for hitch installation with no contact you, waste of time

Really polite customer service lady took my reservation and even called me back within the hour to be sure the Truck Driver had called for the specific instructions. I was pleasantly surprised at her thoughtfulness. It was a great welcome to the City of Tampa. I will use them again for my future small moves.
Got Charged a $27 cleaning Fee for debri that flew in there while Cargo Van was opened. Called Customer service & they assured me they blow that out anyways & that shouldnt have been Charged unless its A box or Trash but since the location has the final word am pretty much screwed out of my $$$ NEVER AGAIN WILL I RESERVE FROM THESE LAZY & MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE! Lesson learned
Upon first arrival in the parking lot (on a Friday evening), I parked my care in a space which seemed to me to be a marked parking space. White lines on both sides. After exiting my vehicle, a man YELLED at me across the parking lot stated that was not a parking space and that I need to move my car. YELLED at me, not excuse me miss, but can you please move your car or any other vocabulary that would indicate welcoming customer service. I considered leaving based on that interaction, but I brushed it off and moved my car. Inside the store two female employees were kind and helped me look at trucks, and provided me with a quote for rental truck. Before I left, they asked me if I wanted to make a reservation and I declined stating I didnt know my closing date on my new home and that I would contact them as soon as I was ready to reserve the truck. On Sunday, I was contacted by a male from the same store asking if I wanted make a reservation. During the process of asking him not to call me back because AGAIN I didnt know my closing date and wasnt ready to reserve a truck, I was rudely hung up on. Yes, hung up on! Had he said thank you, please call us when you are ready or something along those lines, I would have been ok with the follow up call.I immediately called back and asked to speak to a manager who was not in the office. The woman on the phone said she knew who called me but stated she would not give me his name. After me confirming with her I was calling to make a complaint, she still refused the information I was asking for and then put me on on hold. After returning she gave me the name of the person, LUIS. I want to note I had every intention of renting a moving truck from this company, prior to this phone call. This must be why they record all their phone calls. I will go to another company, and I recommend you do the same.
This has been the WORST uhaul experience I have ever had. Took 45 minutes to get the truck, with a reservation!!! Truck was in terrible shape. Transmission jumped and kicked the whole time. There was no gain it at pick up. Terrible maintenance issues over whole truck. Staff not so friendly. And took 40 minutes to drop off. Good luck!!
Better than penske and lower prices.Great customer help. They put in a furniture trolly by accident and the guy was welcoming enough to just tell us aslong as we bring it back we would be ok. Very welcoming and great customer service.

These ppl at this unit has been charging me ridiculously amount of money for a late fee when I had unit at the other location in Hillsborough they have been going beyond crazy on late fee like 50$ for a week late then they charge you more money for 2 months i have been paying 325.. for a unit that is only 69$ they have been charging 100 n something Monthly .. then you call corporation n then they don’t want to give you info on why they charging you this ridiculous amount of money never paid late fee at the other location never ... cause I understand one time late fee but all of that for a month late that’s beyond stupid !!! #cutyoftampa #311 #floridastate
Watch out for hidden wording on insurance coverages, and take pictures of the entire truck and mileages. I rented a Truck and purchased the insurance. I returned the truck with a small crack on a corner of the roof due to hitting a height sign. I didn’t worry too much since the insurrance said any collition damages would be waved. Next thing, I see charges to my credit card for $28 and $760 without advise or receipts ever received. I pulled out my contract and confirmed that collition damages are waived with the insurance.I spent the entire morning trying to get in touch with the store, but no one answers the phone there, and ended up having to drive there. The guy printed out a contract where it says in small letters 3 sentences before the end to watch out for overhead objects. So I ended up spending $1,000 for a 2 hrs rental for an old truck with 120k miles on it. $750 for a small crack to a replaceble plastic peace on the roof is a joke. That’s probably how much that entire old truck is worth. I haven’t even received receipts for any of the extra charges. My advise, hire a moving company and don’t deal with this BS.
Parking lot is way too crowded. Signage is confusing. Lines inside are long. The guy who hooked up my trailer did not attach it correctly and it became detached as I was driving down the road. Luckily the chain held and I was able to stop. It was a very dangerous situation and someone could have been killed.
If you need move out thats the correct place. Many trucks and vans of different sizes, boxes, tools, everything that you need
I had Great experience and Service at this location and with Uhaul overall was Attended by Jodi who was of great service in a normal time and as i was being attend i saw other employees doing good service with other customers but like i always say you treat people they way you want to be treated .... Mr Michael keep up the good work i would recommend this Location to everyone ...

HORRIBLE!!! These people are terrible to deal with. I was sent here because the truck I had from Orlando broke down and they pretended like they didnt have anything to give me even though it was already booked by U-Hauls corporate roadside assistance team. The regional manager for Central Florida named Miguel Caminos is also useless. He ignores all of his phone calls and pretends like hes going to handle an issue, then never does.
Immediately after dropping off my rental I contacted support because I left papers in the glove box. This location did not look for my papers before renting the truck back out. After calling 3 times a day for 2 weeks I still never got a hold of the location. After visiting the location 4 or more times I was told they constantly forgot to look. The truck was rented out again day after day and the team did absolutely nothing to find my papers. At one point an employee said they looked and didnt find my bills of sale. This same person told me that they are gone and then 5 minutes later said they havent even looked then changed it again by saying they looked and its gone. 2 weeks after this started (after calling EVERY DAY) someone in support FINALLY submitted a lost and found ticket for me. The next day they closed my ticket saying it wasnt found. However, the prior day I was told by a customer service rep that the truck was still rented out and wouldnt be back until the next day. When I was told that the bills of sale were not found I was currently sitting in the parking lot of the location. I literally watched as the renter returned the truck AFTER I was told they looked in the truck for my papers. How did they look for the papers if the truck was still rented out? And here is the kicker. The customer rep actually called the customer for me and asked them to check for the papers AND HE SAID THEY WERE THERE! The rep made a note in the system telling the location to call me wether or not they find the papers. They were told to call me to tell me if they found them or if they didnt. Again I never received a call. Yet apparently the ticket was closed out before this truck was returned and no one bothered to call. So either these people simply didnt care enough to check but rather closed the ticket and said screw this guy, or they lost the papers themselves and didnt care enough to take care of this. This issue never needed to happen. These guys were informed of the issue before opening time the day after I dropped my truck off. They could have looked at ANY TIME before renting that truck back out the first, second, or fifth time. Because they made no effort to find my bills of sale, but rather they just shoed me out the door every day, they now decided they dont care. They claim the papers are gone. If they are indeed gone then at this point its the fault of the VERY RUDE team at this location. They screwed me over, cost me money to replace the paperwork, cost me gas MULTIPLE times to go to the store myself since they only contacted me back on one occasion and the rest I needed to drive in to the store, and treated me like I was an inconvience. On ONE occasion I did get a return call from an employee at the actual store. This was a Wednesday, and the man told me the truck will be back tomorrow and we will have your papers for you. We close at 8 so you can come any time to get them. The next day (Thursday) I left work early to get to the location at 7:30 and they were closed since 7. The next day I again couldnt get a hold of anyone at the location so again left note after note with the service center to have them call me. They NEVER CALLED AGAIN. I left 2+ notes EVERY DAY to call me and got nothing in return. Its now clear that the location disnt make any effort, and that they simply preferred that I go away. I would even wager money that the bills of sale are still in the truck. Ive rented from uhaul MULTIPLE times a year for many years and this experience has absolutely convinced me to never use uhaul again. Ill rent from someone who doesnt treat me like an inconvience when the issue is incredibly important.
Great location! They helped me out when my tow lights went out and didnt even charge! I didnt have an appointment, but they saw me promptly anyways!
While reserving a Truck was a quick and painless experience, the actual Truck along with the general managers service was horrible. We were given a Truck that not only had steering issues, belt buckle issues (driver couldnt buckle up), but the Truck was also in poor mechanical conditions as it shut off on its own in the middle of a busy main road during rush hour. Thankfully the truck did turn back on and we were able to resume our move. However all of these issues were simply disregarded by the GM whose sole response was a shallow apology. Showing no concern for customer safety nor customer satisfaction, he proceeded to go about it as if nothing happened. Were EXTREMELY disappointed and displeased with his service, truck, and experience. I would NOT recommend this location, but would rather steer clear.
When i picked up the rv i rented, the employees forgot about me. I say waiting for them to hook it up for 10 minutes until i went inside for help again. Then when i dropped off the rv, they told me where to park so they could unhook the rv and proceeded tip forget about me twice!
How a company should be run. I wont go anywhere else if I ever need a truck again. Fast, efficient, fair and friendly. What more could you ask for?

Very very seldomly do I take the time out of my busy schedule to rate a customer service experience wether it be good or bad. Theres so much I can say about this crappy joke of a store but for now, take my word for it when I say the employees are very incompetent.
Do not go to this location I left medication in the glove box locked came back next morning and it disappeared also left a card in the side driver door and it was also missing beware go to any other location not worth it if you leave anything in your vehicle it will be gone and nobody remembers nothing

I came in needing a receiver hitch installed in a hurry, Michael and the gang really helped me out! They were very fast, friendly, courteous, and experts at what they do.
I had to move between 2 apts in the New Tampa area so I booked online a UHaul at a location nearby at 12 PM. The problem is that in New Tampa they didnt have any truck available (nice online booking system btw) and the UHaul location on W Hillsborough was supposed to call me and tell me that I would have had to pick up the truck at their location instead, but they didnt call. So I showed up in New Tampa at 12 and they told me the truck was actually available only at 4 and at a location very far away. Of course I made new plans and cancelled the reservation. The person at the phone for the W Hillsborough location was nice and I put the blame more on the UHaul system but what a terrible service

Stopped in for a propane refill on an RV. Fast and friendly service, although the parking lot was a bit difficult to navigate (due to parking choices made by other customers present at the time).
If you want to drive 20 minutes only to have your truck given away due to overbooking without your knowledge and then having them blame you for it come to this uhaul. Joke of a store.

It is the best and biggest money scam, it shows you an offer for $ 23.00 and in the end they charge you almost $ 100.00 even if you do not go over the miles, I delivered on time, pay the tall and full tank you will have to pay that spectacular price, it is better that they tell you it costs a dollar a mile and so you decide, what a shame
