Took my kz10001982 to get an estimate on the seat to be upholstered and they quoted $300.00. Went on line and found you all. Found a replica of a seat cover for $80.00 and did it my self: turned out awesome. It even had the kawasaki in gold at the back of the seat matching the original emblems on the gas tank. I have a 1973 Z1 that I have owned since 1974, it has 284,728 miles on the speedo a few rebuilds and a spare 1015 Vance & Hines engine brings me to my story I blew the Main Bearing on the output shaft on my 73 Z1. After splitting the cases and making a list of parts I would need to make the repairs I started looking for everything I needed.I couldnt find everything that I would need, - unavailable -, but I did locate almost everything right here. Very pleased so far :) I ordered parts not knowing 100% if they would work for me. I needed a Starter button for a 1980 kz650 E1/F1 and it list different sizes for those years. Z1 is my go-to for parts to restore my 77 KZ650C1. Ordering is easy. Orders are filled accurately and delivered quickly. I get answers to my product questions within one working day and the answers are clear, succinct and to the point. Its like the old hardware store: a $5 sale and $50 worth of advice. New items have become available during the restoration that replace unavailable originals (specifically rectifier/regulator) that allow my bike to be a ride and not a garage ornament, so I check back regularly to see whats new. I was amazed at the availability of parts covering engine, body parts and electronics for a 40+ year old motorcycle. Now Z1 is operating out of Tampa FL. I ordered a load of parts for a spring clean-up, chose the UPS delivery option and I had my parts delivered into Toronto in about a work week with no duty charges applicable. Fast! We have been rebuilding our 1981 Kawasaki CSR650 all year. We hit a snag over the summer when we started putting the engine back together. Our local Kawasaki dealer wont work on older bikes. We contacted them for the final gasket we needed for the engine. They had none in stock and had to order. Every month they told us it would be another month. The last estimate was for this November. Might make the instruction that purchase could be made straight away and account can be done later bolder but it was my mistake. When I went to bigger screen later I did see that guidance.
