Easy work environment, friendly people
Ive been a boat owner for close to 40 years and used Pompanette products from day one. The person whos negative review I just read was troubling to me. It sounds more like a maintenance issue and how lazy boating habits can injure friends. It figures all of his reviews on Google were negative. Its a shame that people abuse the Google platform to cover thier own mishaps.
On my slow / no wake Xmas ride on Dec. 29, 2016 on the intercoastal last week with 5 people aboard my $ 1,000.00 Pompanette fishing chair base blew apart with my friends 59 year old wife sitting on it. She fell violently to the deck and hurt her back & tail bone. She cancelled her vacation & flew home Jan 2, 2017 to visit her family doctor. We all wish her well but the most amazing part of this story is that today Jan. 3, I brought the broken base to the Fort lauderdale Pompanette store where I purchased this chair quite a while ago to replace the broken part of the quad base. Both employees / Michael Murray & Gladdy Nugent / were quite rude especially Murray who refused to replace this defective part without my old receipt even though this fiberglass part was sub par . They insisted on charging me $ 100.00 for this new part even though the fiberglass base of a $ 1,000.00 chair should not break apart with a 130 Lb woman sitting on it. They claimed the sun over the years caused the FIBERGLASS to break ! I will never buy another Pompanette product & I will relay this story to everyone I know involved in boating from my yacht club members, my marina & every retailer I buy from & the webb etc. Do your self a favor & stay away from Pompanette products because they dont hold up & their customer service stinks.
