This place does NOT have wood that is suitable for exposed joists. STAY AWAY - find another lumber yard. Requested wood that had no knots along the edges or knots that would compromise the integrity of the board to pass inspection. When I sent my daughter to pick it up they were already cutting the boards and they loaded them for her. 6 of the 9 boards were split, damaged, and had knots that would not work for 2nd floor exposed joists.

Wyatt was knowledgeable, and easy to work with on the order I made. Got ever I needed for a better price than the yard i normally use. The showroom is clean and everyone is wearing masks and had social distance. Thanks Wyatt! I’ll definitely be coming back here next time for future purchases!

I was tired of having to pick through Home Depots wood to find the good boards, so I figured I would go to an actual lumber yard. That was a terrible decision. First I tell them I need plywood to build a bar with cabinets, and drawers, they give me roof sheathing, pretty much useless. Second, they pick your lumber and theirs is the same exact grade a quality so expect a lot of warp to the boards. Maybe a bit my fault for not really inspecting what they gave as it was raining out and they were in a rush to close up shop early, but no, thats not the professionalism one should expect from a real lumber yard. I am only giving them an extra star because the material itself was priced roughly what it should be.

On 5/30/17 I went to Peninsular lumber to shop for an exterior door. I found a profile I liked and asked if it was available without any wood components. I was told that there was wood in it, but that it was buried in the door as reinforcement and that there was no way water could get to it. I ordered the door with rot-proof composite jambs and explained how i wanted it to swing. When I went to pick it up the swing was backwards. The manager apologized and said they could fix it within a few days. Today I went to pick up the fixed door. I told the associate helping me I wanted to open the door to inspect it but was told it wouldnt open because it was nailed shut. When I got it home and pried out the nails to open it I found the entire cross-section of the door (top and bottom) was exposed, unprimed, unpainted particle board and wood. Not at all what I was told Id be getting. I called immediately to speak with the manager to explain the problem but wasnt offered any solutions. I spent $284.59 on a garbage door I cant return because it was a custom order. In the future I will stick with the big-box stores and I would highly recommend staying away from this place.

I went to pick up 2×10 boards for joists and asked specifically for wood for joists that are going to be inspected. The yard manager had an employee pick out the wood and started cutting it down to size before I even looked at it. It was raining so I made the mistake of trusting them to pick decent lumber. When I got home and began unloading the boards, I found that every board had a crack or large knot and one had clear foot prints on it. When I asked to return the wood or exchange it, they refused because the boards had been cut. Never trust THIS lumber yard to pick wood.

Rude staff. I went to get some material for a patio project and a young man named Daniel was slick at the mouth and disrespectful. He insinuated I was broke. Horrible customers service.

Multiple awful experiences.1) Called for door quotes and information and was met with horrendous attitudes and got hung up on TWICE.2) Eventually able to provide information over phone to get quote on doors. After over a week went by I followed up and they had no record or recollection of the request.2) Visited showroom and the staff was not only unhelpful, no one even so much as acknowledged my presence. After asking for help and inquiring about products, it was clear I had substantially more information than they did- the staff knew next to nothing about their products.Go literally anywhere else for you lumber needs.

Pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. Every person I spoke with was professional, kind and considerate. The first gentleman asked me about my project and walked me out to select the best boards for that and made pleasant conversation. They even offered me a cold bottle of water for the ride home. This was a small ($12) purchase...you can bet I know where to go for my next big-ticket purchase!

My husband has always came here for our materials remodeling our personal house and his parents house. Once I came in to see what he was talking about I was shocked about the service. Not in a good way. I was standing there for about 15 minutes while the gentlemen up front were busy the woman to my right was causally on her cell phone ignoring me. She then was told by one of the guys who was already busy that I had been waiting. She shrugged his comment off, then said in a rude way what I needed. I was appalled when I found out she was in fact the MANAGER of the show room. Amy was very unprofessional and I cant believe weve been pouring money into this place with that kind of service. She was rude, didnt act like she wanted to listen or help my questions. I will never be back, and hope my husband will finally move on from there as well. Horrible horrible, I cant believe if that is how she acts regularly she still has a job there. Unbelievable.

Bought over $800 worth on wood and got at least 10 pieces of wood with at least 2 feet of damaged wood that cant be used for nothing. Called and was told by the manager that she could not exchange them. Not even a sorry. Bad customer service and lousy policies. Not coming back here again. 👎

Terrible merchant, rude and not worth the trouble. Had custom trim made and it has damage. Refused to make it right and were so rude to my contractor that they even ran him off. You cannot really tell by the pics, but this trim has actual nots and holes in it.
