I came in to purchase a guitar and ended up finding one I liked, but was never approached by any staff to see if I needed help. I felt uncomfortable asking to test the guitar on one of the amps as no one else was playing. When I approached the counter to ask about purchasing it the clerk was helpful but when he asked if I played it and I said kind of, just from holding it and not on any amps, it would have been great to have him ask if Id like to test it live or have him offer to get me set-up more. I fumbled my way through the transaction like I knew what I was doing but luckily I had some experience playing 10+ years ago. If I were a brand new player I would hope the staff would be more accommodating.
Just wanted to thank Irv and Juan for all their help today in the store. I first came in to check on a used cymbal and Irv helped me with from getting it out of the vault to purchasing it. Also wanted to trade in a cymbal of mine to go towards the used cymbal purchase as well to which Juan was a great help with. Both guys were really helpful, friendly and provided great service on a busy Saturday afternoon. True rarity in these stores today! Thanks again guys!
I’ve played drums professionally for over 40 years. Logan Neal provided the best service I’ve ever received. I purchased an E-merg electronic drum set by Pearl. We were at the store for over 4 hours choosing drums and Logan was with us all the way ( he was also taking care of other customers as well ). Logan showed us respect, care, concern, humor, and knowledge. The store manager and Logan gave me a deal I couldn’t resist. Because of Logan, I will be a loyal customer of this particular Guitar Center. Thanks Logan!
Always pleasant. Employees always remember who I am and strike up conversation about music. Trade in values are fair and used gear is something Ive never had an issue with here.
Always friendly service. They did a great job of servicing my bass. Just wish they had a larger selection of bass amps and cabinets but I realize most people want guitars. My wife did get me a beautiful Marcus Miller edition Fender Jazz Bass from there so, 4.75 🌟 if thats possible.
One of the best places in town for music related purchases. Inventory, Selection, along with friendly, knowledgeable staff makes Guitar Center a first choice over other retail stores in Tampa.
Nice store but a bit small for a guitar center. There was still a varied selection of guitars and other musical equipment available. There were also some used items, like amps, presented at reduced (from new) prices, so you could possibly find a really good deal on something!
I love the place. its so overwhelmingly beautiful and guitars or what I love. I wish I could win the lotto and buy them all. it is a great place though to shop and look at all the things they have
Hubby took his guitar in to be set up. They were very good at it. Hubby was very impressed with how it was done. And they were fast. He said he will be back again.

Nice to be able to go to an actual, well stocked store these days. The staff was amazingly helpful. Had my 17 year old son with, and the guy at the desk spent quite some time educating him on how to revive the older electric guitar he inherited.
Whats not to love? it feels like being a kid again In a toys R us candy store. truly a huge collection which would impress most upcoming musicians. Gorgeous staff, attentive attitudes, and speedy service. this location iz about an hour drive from my man cave and its worth the trip.huge collections of guitars a fair amount of keyboards and enough equipment to start your own DJ gig if thats what youre into. they also have a section for percussion instruments. the best part is that if you know nothing about music, they have the means to be able to teach you. guitar center is one of the things keeping music alive with the easy access of social media these days.
These guys are amazing. I ordered a used instrument from them over the phone and they mailed it out in record time (Im in California and it got to me in 3 days). When I received it, it was beautiful, but it didnt work. Juan, Jason and Al were all very helpful. Long story short, Juan had me take the bass to my local Guitar Center, where they fixed it immediately and without charge. All business should be handled this smoothly.

Ordered a drum kit from guitar center online. Extremely happy with purchase but there was an issue with the gear when it arrived. Because it was used there was not an easy fix. The associate and manager both worked with me to resolve the problem. Very much appreciate the kindness with which they responded even though I didnt technically buy from their particular store. Its been a few years since Ive been in a Guitar Center. Im glad to see the company is still around and doing well.On this trip, we were there to help my son buy his first guitar. The staff was absolutely great - very friendly and helpful. The selection on acoustic guitars was not as abundant as on the companys website (the joys of supply chain disruptions,) but it was good for our needs.The clerk who assisted us could have easily pushed us toward the most expensive guitar or kit, but instead offered suggestions on which might be best in terms of sound and usefulness for my sons interests. As it turns out, we spent less money that we had budgeted and we were able to pick up a few other extras.The stores selection of electrics and other instruments appears good, though I didnt spend a lot of time cruising those areas. I definitely recommend doing business with this store.
Guitar centers tend to have a poor track record when it comes to customer service. (From my past experiences) This guitar center exceed my expectations. Al Stewart was extremely helpful and patient with me and my 4 yr old son. We were able to test electric drum kits without being told to stop. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.
Guitar Center is like going to a book shop you know you should buy online and get the best price but often times you want it right away, the prices are reasonable and once in a while you get a good deal. I got hooked up with a used Supro black magic amp and a Strat Ultra and loved the tone. Two used Supros later that were faulty I ended up buying a fender deluxe reverb brand new on the guitarathon. OK price, and I am now loving my tone and can’t wait for my pedals to come to try them out. You can still get great deals on used gear, when there’s a promo it’s great too... and pls only play at volume if you’re good !! There was a bass player yesterday who was shaking the building, and not in a good way!
Spent an hour and a half with associates helping us that had no clue about the products they were selling. Asked associate which DJ Controller they would recommend and they responded Pioneer. Then when no questions could be answered about the differences in brands/models asked why he would choose Pioneer he replied I guess the name. I dont really know.We also wanted to upgrade the cart on my turntable and not one person out of 8 working knew a thing about any of the selections for sale or even what they were compatible with. Brought home a $150.00 cart that will not play on my turntable.When you come to specialty store you come to expect to find experts in the field that know what they are selling. This is NOT the case at this location and corperate should hire all new gurus that can assist customers that are curious like myself but do not want to get mislead by hacks who are just there for a paycheck with no knowledge whatsoever of the products. I am appalled this was all Tampa has to offer in terms of music big box retail.

Found some good guitars. Wide open walking spaces and can find most things. One manager was a bit unwelcome and kinda creepy in the way he stood around a friend and I while in the acoustic room. Could have done without that.

When calling the store employees are very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. While visiting in store customer service was on point every step of the way, very satisfied with my purchase and the help I received from staff.
No pressure to buy, great staff and the prices and guarantees for used gear is awesome.
The store was well stocked and was easy to find what I needed. It was hectic and understaffed trying to get help. The people were very helpful and I could feel for them.I wanted information on other items but didnt want to bother. I would of spent more money. Now I found what I needed off Amazon. One piece of advice to management, dont let the store run you, but you run the store.

This was a nice music store. Most of the employees were nice though when it came to asking for help with music, it was very hit or miss. I’m learning how to play guitar and I’m working on a song that requires a quick wrist movement. I know how to do it I’m just having trouble. When I asked some of the staff for help, two of them told what what to do but didn’t exactly sit down to show me how even for a brief second. I know it’s not a music school but that’s part of their job. They also couldn’t read music well.The third guy on the other hand gave me better advice as to how to wing the tough parts. While I’m still currently working on it, I have a better idea on how to tackle it. The guy who helped me was fine, in addition to giving me advice about strings, we also talked about guitar preferences, different types of guitars, songwriting and the reality of rock stars.The location’s far but I wouldn’t mind returning as I got the strings I wanted as well as some good advice from someone who liked their job. I’m impressed they kept their stride during these tough times and restrictions. With that being said check out this place.

I went in looking for a part for my guitar. I had to wait 20 minutes for the parts guy. That is the only reason I cant give 5 stars. Once the parts guy came it was amazing. He knows his stuff. I told him what was going on and what I needed. He knew exactly what I needed and hooked me up. I was also looking for a specific strap and he found it. He even went as far as to make string recommendations for my guitar. He talked me into Elixirs and I am happy I did. They sound great. I will definitely be a repeat customer. They have everything you need. It is truly a one stop shop for all your musical needs.

I have been to other Guitar Centers in other states and this one is in sad shape. Not a great selection of guitars, basses, and drums. Not one person came to us when I was looking at a drum kit except some guy (maybe he works there... no tag) said “that is a good set, I tried it when it came in”I rather go to Sam Ash or order online based on customer service and stock.

I live up in Boston and this GC location was the only store in the country with the guitar I’ve been searching for for several months. I called the Tampa store and was helped by Aaron and he did a fantastic job. I asked him for additional pictures of the guitar and I had them within less than 2 minutes. Every question I had was answered immediately and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. I told him I wanted an hour or so to think it over before making my decision and he was not pushy or anything. He just welcomed me to call back and ask for him whenever I was ready. With the photos and the information he provided me, I called back within 15 minutes and bought the guitar over the phone. He quickly explained the process of having the guitar shipped to the location in Boston I picked and I was good to go. Although I wasn’t their in person, it was the best Guitar Center experience I’ve had to date. Thanks Aaron & Tampa GC!

Go see this guy plus everybody in the store is super nice and helpful. They treat you the same if your buying a 100 dollar item or a 1000 dollar item. Great customer service. Highly recommend this store.

I called ahead to the Hillsborough Guitar Center to see if they had a Yamaha p125 in stock and they said yes. But when I got there they said they made a mistake. I drove for 45 minutes to get there. Yet another disappointing experience.
Told me to come in to get my guitar serviced and then said the guy isn’t there to do it. Also the guy on the phone was very “matter of fact” with me, almost like he didn’t care to take my call. I’ll make the extra half hour drive to go to the other guitar center. Hopefully they’re actually professional.

Very poor customer service, I got there as soon as they opened so I wouldnt have to wait. Still ended up waiting for someone to help me when they only had three customers in the store. The salesman they had working in audio knew nothing about the products in his area. Then they had no bags to put my items in. This is the reason more shoppers are ordering online, not worth your time and money.

Was left on hold for over 10 minutes when trying to see if they had the new PRSs in stocks. Only to get no answer. I then drove an hour and twenty minutes from my house to come look. Only to find that no one in the store has the time to help me purchase a guitar. Not to mention you need a sales person to even touch half the guitars, if you can get anyone to help you. Went in looking to potentially spend money left frustrated and not wanting to come back here.

The associate who helped me was super polite and answered all my questions thoroughly. Sean is a Guitar Guru. I expected to drop off my guitar for its minor repair but it was fixed on the spot. In and out about 20 minutes. I enjoyed watching Seans process during the repair, gained some knowledge and was charged less than $11. For my first time ever at a Guitar Center I was thoroughly impressed! Thank You Sean!

The staff has not been very helpful the last 2 times I have been there.
I called the store to ask about a DJ controller to see if it was in stock, they did not have it available, so I proceeded to say I would order it online. The gentlemen on the phone said it would be best for him to order it as he would help the item arrive sooner plus he would get the sale. he asked me to hold on the phone but I simply could not because I was working. So I decided to call back to place the order with him and once again he was busy and said hed call me back. he never called back that evening or the next day. I placed the order myself online and it will arrive in two days. Please dont get deceived by the staff placing orders to have items arrive faster, so can do the same ordering it online. I could have gotten the item sooner had I not waited for his call back.
Its a super center. They usually have very helpful/ knowledge staff.Their return policy keeps a lot of musicians using them. Their pricing is right down the middle and selection is good enough to walk out with something acceptable in most of the departments
I waited almost 2 weeks for my instrument to be cleaned (I ended up picking up the instrument dirty) when the day I dropped off the repair technician told me it would take two to three days.

I went there for a specific set of questions and products and unfortunately there was literally no one in the place to help me. The selection of everything was sparse and there were a total of two employees. The first was a manager looking man who was on the phone in the center of the building watching one customer after another come in and leave unhelped. I found a girl that was very pleasant but admitted after my first simple question about an interface that it was her first day and that she knew literally nothing about music. She was polite and did ring for anyone to come and help me but no one ever showed. It is unfortunate because they have an expensive instrument that I had planned on purchasing they lost out on a $2500 sale. I can go somewhere else and will next time.
I had a difficult time getting help at first. The gentleman fixing the electric guitars was the most helpful but he was understandably busy. Not an inviting place force first time shopper.
I was accidentally charged twice for a guitar but didnt know for several days. When I called to dispute the charges to the first manager I was told he would need to talk with a cashier and call me back. No call!😡The second time I spoke to a different manager who had a very hard time understanding that he needed to simply refund my exact amount and problem solved. But instead he said he would look into it and get back with me. No call either!!😡On the third call I spoke with an employee named David. I explained the whole story and within 5 mins he had gotten my refund approved by yet another manager.😁This man should be promoted to store manager. He was the only person to actually care about my issue and was the only one to resolve it. My 5⭐s are for nothing other than David. He will be the one I direct all my friends to.

Had a issue at the clearwater location so sent a guitar here so I didn’t have to deal with that horrible store. Turns out it’s not the store it’s the company. They overprice their products then when you show proof that it’s 200 dollars over priced for the same make and model of guitar from a large competing music store....also I was never informed to how much more overpriced the guitar was until they shipped it to the store and then the employee asked for the payment. Wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.....went to Sam ash and they helped me find another guitar to add to my collection #sorrynotsorry
I drove 2 hours away after I called and asked for a 12 string guitar they told me they had a red one for me and that they would hold it for me until I get there, well I get there and they say they dont know what Im talking about then I find a all black 12 string takamine guitar It looks nice and I like it, so I take it home then I go to play it and I see a string is missing as I look closer I see theres deep scratches and a chipped piece of wood I go to tune it as soon as I twist the knob my string pops out. This all happened as soon as I got home Im never shopping there again Im very frustrated and I dont even want to look at this waste of money, Why would they have this out to be sold lookin like this anyway?
Its really sad that guitar center is going bankrupt. This store was beautiful, employees were helpful. Ive had issues with the product i bought here, but it was a manufacturer defect and they accepted a return.

Several weeks ago I took my guitar in for a tune up, Shawn did an outstanding job, I cannot thank him enough. I feel safer in that store than I do in a grocery store, you must wear a mask and sanitize you hands entering the store. I am so happy with the service and the staff.

I ask the staff that should, know about simple info, I was given wrong info because you want to do a piss pour performance at your Job. So I need to come back and figure it out.
