The place was a 7/10 but THE CUBAN WAS A 9!!! That pork was moist and plentiful! The crunch and flavor led me to the Cuban promise land. It comes with a vinegar mojo sauce to add even more balance if the impact of the thick Swiss cheese and sweet ham wasnt enough to push your taste buds into tranquillity.The French fries were soggy and the French onion wasnt super flavorful despite having French fried onions in it which I thought was clever. However, military discount and epic Cuban and coffee were more than enough to make up for those small disappointments.Id definitely opt for the Cuban over the medianoche as it wasnt crunchy at all.
I have been to Stone Soup over a hundred times over the last 5 years. It seems the ownership changed as the food has shifted in taste and preparation. Overall still quite good but the flavors are a little less Cuban and more Americanized. Id still recommend trying it out but the original Cuban is definitely different than in 2016.
A wonderful spot to get some food. I had the traditional Cuban which was excellent, and a side of Macncheese which was crispy on top and gooey underneath. It was all delicious and filled me up completely for a decent price. During our visit we did have to wait a bit longer than I would expect for our food, but I believe there kitchen was just backed up because it was PRIDE. Past that the atmosphere was really great, with a wall full of art that seemed like it belonged in a gallery, as well as kitschy signs/decorations you secretly(or not secretly) love. I 100% recommend checking it out.
Dietary labels on their menu are not accurate (items labeled gluten free, server clarified that they are NOT). Thats a huge deal that needs to be fixed ASAP as it will land some individuals in the hospital. Server laughed about it, he was clearly under the influence during our dinner and went missing for half of our meal. Other servers had to fill in. The whole experience was disjointed. The food was very good. Ambience was very cool. Please do not trust the dietary labels here, for your safety.
Being Cuban I always like to try places that say they have a good Cuban and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The house made mojo was Fire 🔥 I absolutely love the vibe, the music and Art. Tried the Chili which I also enjoyed. Ryan our bartender was awesome 😎 we will definitely be back. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Ybor City 👌
I had the best experience here. the food was excellent. I mean very tasty and the spirits were on point. The Cuban Sandwich 5 stars (so good). The server and the host were informative and very friendly. Will be visiting again when in Fla.
The sign says it has the best Cuban sandwich in the city...and you know what...theyre right.Had the Cuban Sandwich platter with rice and beans and it was flawless, well prepared and better than anticipated. The food took a while to come out, but it was worth the wait. Highly recommend it.
Order chicken soup from somewhere else if you are sick, there were only 2 pieces of chicken in the whole quart for $18?! Carrabas or any other place is better than that. The gyro pasta dish had 1-2 ounces of meat also. Clearly this restaurant is trying to recoup cost by jipping their customers. Will never order from here again.UPDATE: LAST NIGHT MY BOYFRIEND GOT SICK AFTER EATING GYRO PASTA, small protein and food poisoning!! Unbelievable. Buyer beware
My friend Patty and I went to Ybor for a change of scenery on our girls day out and wandered into this wonderful eatery. The atmosphere is fantastic, our waiter, Ryan, was super nice and the food was unbelievably delicious. The portions were more than expected and we ended up taking it home. Definitely the best lunch weve had.
Completely impressed by the transparent vegan items on the menu and well as the selection. Food was tasty, service was great, mask enforcement was... eh, maybe 50/50, and seating was way too close for social distancing (they do have outdoor seating, as well.).But food, staff, prices, and vegan options were all good.A huge Pho bowl, deep fried french toast, battered mushrooms, Empanada, side of sauerkraut, and 2 Pepsis ran about $50 including tip!Well definitely be back when it is safe.
My family and I had a wonderful lunch here today! I have eaten here before and have never been disappointed. Today, I brought my parents in to have the best Cuban in Tampa and they loved it just as much as I do! The service was great and friendly. The art on the wall is from local artist which is cool. 10/10 would recommend.
Had Pho at Stone Soup Company in Ybor..I chose the seafood mix- shrimp, lobster and fish..mostly shrimp and fish.. I could of just had the broth.. . Salty but not overpowering . various types of heat - goes all the way to Nuclear.. I settled for a medium heat.... fresh Thai basil and sprouts. Separate as they should be. Menu has a variety of items .. would try again..highly recommend .
I’ve never been inside this place, but while recovering from dental surgery I can’t really eat much. I discovered this place on Uber eats and I’m blown away by the quality of the soup. I never thought I would actually sit here and review a soup company but it’s that good. High-quality food, consistent taste, and healthy ingredients
Stone Soup Comany has an eclective vibe with with great food and great amosphere. Known for their famous homemade soups but don’t worry, plenty of variety on their menu to satisfy every foodie. So go checkout this Ybor hot stop and say high to their hardworking and cheerful staff.

Super disappointed. Ordered the Chicken Noodle soup- which is AMAZING- via Uber Eats and what I received was straight up broth with the tiniest amount of chicken, veggies, and no noodles. absolutely unacceptable and this isnt the first time Ive experience inconsistencies with your food. Probably wont be dining here anymore. I know yall can do better.
The plastic container is from stone soup & the bowl is my homemade matzo ball soup. I got a very small portion of mediocre matzo ball soup for almost $30 after delivery. not worth $30 for sure. there was barely any chicken no celery or carrots or onions. just 3 small balls & broth with a lil parsley... oy vey 😳thanks for the reply. organic is good 😂I appreciate that u even have matzo ball soup.... i will try again & ask for more stuff in it. for $30 (after delivery) I feel like one big container should have broth with chicken & veggies & another big container full of dry matzo balls (so they dont get soggy) 😋imo that would be worth ordering regularly👍🏽👍🏽
I had the opportunity to work in that place and the truth is that I had never felt as discriminated against as I felt when working in that kitchen, apart from this I could see that they do not have any hygiene, they touch the customers food without gloves and They don’t use mask and for me that is something very unpleasant and it is something that should not happen the owner is a very aggressive man and above all he has no education. My intention with making this comment is that the owner is looking at the comments and gives himself feedback and understand that it is not fair for customers to eat a meal that is touched by the hands with dirty nails of his employees. the fairest thing would be for you to please wear gloves when handling your employees food and to please put masks in their mouths when they speak and when they are in the kitchen working. I had the opportunity to be trained to work in that place today was my third day. Be safe and god bless you.

The food was pretty mediocre for the price. The medianoche I got was cold and the bread seemed stale. All of that was ok but the really upsetting part was that the server slipped an extra drink on my bill that I did not order. I told her and she insisted that I ordered it and it was served to me. She argued that I was incorrect and she definitely brought it to me. The 5 other people I was with confirmed what I was saying. Then she took my bill to the bartender and made a scene...clearly trying to convince herself that I was wrong.The whole ordeal took so long. They made me late for an appointment after the meal. It didnt help that it took like an hour to get our food.
The best French toast ever made can be found here. Great selection of local drafts and beers, all their other food is awesome too.
So, I thought that this was the SpookEasy Lounge and wandered to the bar and looked at their menu and saw the Devils Old Fashioned and was like, I guess this must be it. Not very spooky, but okay.Anyways, if youre looking for that place its upstairs!Anyways, anyways, the bar service here was super friendly and kind. The Devils Old Fashioned was extremely potent and I needed it to be watered down with extra soda. That just shows how they do drinks here!
Been there many times, the most recent was for a planned celebration. The ownership and staff at SSC are fabulous. They arranged for the space upstairs and worked with us to meet all of our needs. The staff is always great and very personable, ready to do what they need to service customers. The menu never disappoints and everyone we bring always comes back on their own. Continued success, I highly recommend a try for something a little different!!!
Staff shortages and lack of attention to detail have taken a toll on this spot. Used to be a nice clean chill spot to grab a good lunch and beer. Recent experience was a bit disappointing.
Highly disappointed. Ive been there a few times and its always been good. I dont know if they got a different cook or what but it was awful. Curry soup was Curry sauce, noodles, rawonions, and chicken. No veggies. Burrito bowl had dry chicken. Chili tasted like it used baked beans. The new server took forever to get us out food. We were there over 2hours. But the spicybloody mary was on point. That is the only reason they did not get 1 star.

Great food and service, my friend got the Ex-Wife’s pasta and it was absolutely amazing, zero complaints. As for me, I got the matzo ball soup and it was probably one of the worst soups I have had in my life. Matzo balls were hard and soup was just warm water with uncooked carrots and stale matzo. Definitely recommend anything else on the menu than that.*** I updated my review to a 4 star rather 3 because the owner was kind enough to reach out and offer a comp! Emphasizes the great service this place provides. I also grew up in a Jewish Family getting homemade matzo ball soup at holidays so I could also just be spoiled in that realm. If you are the owner and reading this, no comp needed! (Maybe just try for softer mazto balls if that is possible)

Food was fair. The cuban was not very good for a Tampa restaurant. Rice and black bean was dried. I added mojo (on the side for cuban) still couldnt save it. It was obviously microwaved. A hostess came around and asked and I told her the beans were bad. Maybe their soups are better? I hope.
This place was fantastic and the Thai soup I had was very good. They have a lot of different drinks for those who consume alcohol and they are building some sort of tea room on the second level which looks to be really cool as the entrance to that is through a fake book case.The place was very clean and the staff very friendly. If I am ever in the Tampa area again I will definitely repeat
Food is not good. It use to be better.. Had a filet cheesesteak sandwich. It was dry and overcooked. Dont go, go somewhere else.
Came here as a suggestion from a buddy of mine. Ive never had a cuban before but I cannot get over how good it was. Next time Im in Tampa, I will make it a point to stop here again.

I really want to preface this by saying that I NEVER leave bad reviews, but here I am. Every business can get something wrong once in a while, but this is unacceptable. I tried their Cuban Sandwich platter for the first time today. It was absolutely disgusting. The first thing I noticed was that I asked for no pickles and there were at least 6 pieces of pickles in the sándwich. I removed them. Then I took my first bite. The pork in the sandwich was so cold that the fat on it was solid. It was absolutely gross. Not only that but the pieces of pork they used were full of solid fat and the gross looking pieces that nobody wants to eat. The bread was stale and the ham and salami tasted old. To top it all off, the fries had clearly been refried from before and were so burnt that I couldn’t bite into them without it hurting my gums. Nothing about what I ordered was edible—well maybe the ketchup. I understand everyone is going through a pandemic and dealing with tightening budgets, but the food quality should not be where the cut is made. I will never eat here again.

Sat on a Sunday about 1:30. service was quick for beverages and ordering. However the restaurant was slow and it took about 45 minutes for food to arrive. One sandwich wasnt hot. And the #1 cuban in the US? Uh.. Thats a tall order to fill and it wasnt. overall Id try again though, sometimes its a bad day.
Seafood Pho? I found Large shrimp & tiny salad shrimp, button mushrooms, sprouts, a lot of oil & noodles Ive never seen served in Pho. I definitely didnt find the lobster nor white fish... not even any remains hinting it may have once been there. The make shift Pho was so oily, the residue on my lips felt like I applied cheap lip gloss. The lobster bisque was so salty I literally could not stomach more than the first bite. . Over all, this was a terrible experience.

We got two veggie paninis. They were cold, the cheese was unmelted and flaking off. They were but down the middle which made it even harder to hand and eat. The fries were so fried they were hollow and full of grease. Besides be extremely disappointed by the sandwiches the fries gave me and my friend horrible stomach trouble later that night. Maybe their other food is good but… this was NOT good.
Our server Kaley was very friendly and helpful. Chili and lobster bisque were flavorful. Glad I tried this place. Will be telling my friends and family to come here when in ybor.
Boy oh boy do they give you a good amount of food! The chili and pho was so yummy! My vegan empanada was perfect. The staff was friendly even when they were busy. Definitely will be coming back to try more on the menu.

Literally just ate there. Ordered the Cuban sandwich platter with a side pretzel with cheese. Should have been $11 according to the menu both in person and online. When the bill arrived, I was charged $9 for the sandwich, $4 for the pretzel and $2 for the cheese sauce. When questioned, the waitress informed us that bc the pretzel cost more, it wasn’t included as a regular side. This was not stated anywhere on the menu and when pointed out, she simply said “sorry” and walked away with our card. Absolute terrible way to conduct business! If I had misread the menu, that’s one thing and I would’ve gladly paid without issue. However, what happened today is a extremely shady practice and I would advise everyone to always check their bill at this restaurant to avoid getting scammed like we did!EDIT: After seeing the owner’s response, I decided to look for myself to see if what they said was true. They are correct that it does say prices are subject to change. However, the pretzel with cheese or mustard IS listed on the side item list and DOES NOT mention any additional cost for that particular side item. Other restaurants CLEARLY post which sides are regular and which come at additional costs. Sorry but this isn’t acceptable.
Decided to visit this place after reading that they had the best chili in all of Florida and I must say it did not disappoint, definitely some of the best chili Ive ever had! They also had award winning Cuban sandwiches that were pretty good, as well. Its kind of quirky atmosphere but it fits right in with the variety of other bars and restaurants found in Ybor City. Check them out next time youre near downtown Tampa!

To go order placed at 11:35AM. I arrived at 11:50. 25 minutes after I arrived it was finally finished. When I arrived they said 5 to 10 minutes. Nothing on the order takes 45 minutes to prepare. While I was waiting, I observed the staff and their ATTITUDES. It is no wonder I recently read an article about how this restaurant is having difficulty hiring. Its their own fault. Absolutely horrible experience.

Not feeling well after my vaccine and was craving broccoli and cheddar soup. What arrived was hot cheese dip with the ghost of broccoli pieces and a scrap of bread. The cheese was very good but needed thickening with more broccoli or add some potatoes... something to transform it back to soup.
Before today, the last time I visited Stone Soup Co was about 3 years ago. I recommended it to others in our group based on my previous experience of delicious food and good service.Apparently, a lot has changed here. There was confusion as to whether or not our party was the 7-top they were expecting and the confusion persisted after we clarified that we were not and had not made a reservation. We had horrible service despite the restaurant being empty when we arrived (server forgot multiple things, like sugar for coffee, and even still did not bring one item when reminded; the service and kitchen were quite slow, and one order had an unrequested modification.)I dont understand how it can take so long to receive simple beverages (no mixed drinks) in an empty restaurant.As a cook with 7 years of experience, if I knew I had a 7-top reservation coming in and I unexpectedly got a 5-top...I would push their food out as fast as possible to have it out of the way before the other party arrived. This is not what happened.I was also disappointed with the mojo served with my cuban. I remember their mojo being absolutely delicious. Today it was pretty flavorless.Maybe they have a new crew still in training, maybe they were having a bad day. Either way, I dont see myself coming back soon.

Their cuban sandwich is AWESOME ! The size may be alittle surprising but I can tell you the flavors and their garlic sauce will make your taste buds wanting more. Add an order of their home made french fries Yum.

Honestly loved the people there, they were so helpful and kind. The italian panini I got was phenomenal and then that broccoli cheese soup;I had let it sit for a bit cause I was so stuffed from the sandwich! I ate it even after it was cold it was so good! If your in ybor go here its a cool place to go too plus go upstairs to go to the spookeasy too! Also the infusions of the cbd is great too!
This was my first time trying this place, I read all the recent reviews beforehand and it seemed like dining in would be a nightmare because of all of the staff issues I read about so I decided to order on Ubereats. I ordered the filet mignon sandwich, expecting something nice and tender, similar to an actual filet mignon, what I got was huge chunks of tough steak, if it was filet mignon, it was not good quality, in my opinion. It came with a side of fries, they don’t put salt on them so make sure you have some to add if you prefer it.
Loved my waitress with pigtales. Super sweet. Suggested the French oniin soup. Wow was this to die for. Everything was nice. Bathrooms. Etc.. With a poetry reading through the bookcase..

The French Onion Soup was one of the best I have ever had! No stones, but lots of onions and they used gruyere cheese and not an easy substitute. Everyone else at our table was equally pleased.
Food was delicious, although service wasnt great. Hey, I hate working long Saturdays too. Just try and remember napkins, menus, and silverware next time. Absolutely love the food and beer selection!!
