I brought my car in at this Tuffy location and got it back with an issue that was there prior to taking it. As this was not the first time this happened to me, I was already very wary of bringing my car there again. Recently, I took my car there for my oxygen sensor that they ONLY had to GLUE back. I got it back with my once PERFECTLY FINE AC blowing hot air. I got highly suspicious of them messing it up just to get me to bring it back again and charge me more. Indeed, after waiting for their so-called treatment to work for a whole week, I took it back for them to finally repair the AC. Only for them to keep the car for 2 DAYS! Mind you, they had it since Thursday only for the car to be returned to me the EXACT SAME WAY with no functioning AC. Do not waste your time on this location, they are only chasing coins and not quality service. Unreliable, malicious, untrustworthy, and theft should be their new motto.

For the day I was having, Tuffy Tire & Auto Service was a very pleasant experience. I would suggest them to everyone. God bless these guys.

Avoid this place. My daughters car had an issue she went to go get it fixed and she came back home with another issue. They most likely broke her AC and they kept telling her to come back just to rip her off . They had no shame telling her that Maybe Something Fell Inside. Clearly they dont know what they are doing . They will misdiagnosed your car just to have you spend more . Be careful ladies, they have no respect . They are certainly not reliable.

If you expect honesty like me, this is the right place. I own a Hyundai, I have always gone to the dealer, but they quoted me $ 500 to install all the new brakes because according to them they were in poor condition. I came to Tuffy because the taxes were only $ 354. Once the car was lifted, the manager called me to tell me that I did not need brakes for a long time, incredulous I asked him to enter the workshop to verify and exactly. Hyundai wanted to steal $ 500 from me and Tuffy avoided charging me and wishing me good wishes. I will continue with them. Beware of the dealers!

This place is trashy, it is the worst, i hate it. They dont have good custumer. They have quite a few liars working for them at this location. They will guarantee you that your problem is fixed meanwhile they gave you a worse one to walk out the door with. I never a business vakue quantity iver qualith as much as this one. The staff is TRASH, the service is beyond poor,and the reliability is nonexistent. Dont waste your time, save your car, and your money and take your business eslewhere.

This place will rip you off . They lack honesty big time. You’ll walk in with an issue, leave with another. They will lie about fixing the issue just to get you coming back, so they can rip you off some more. They need to replace the staff working there. They are unreliable and lack professionalism. Its not worth a penny. You’ll lose money and time by going there. Please avoid this location, it’s so not worth it . They are a bunch of lazy people ripping vulnerable people off .

They dont try to push things on you like a new air filter when all you want is the oil changed. Its just the small things that matter.

The service as Tuffys is excellent. The people working there are very friendly, professional, and I never get the sense that theyre trying to to rip me off or pressure me to get extra work done. Theyve kept my rust bucket of a car running for the last several years and thats why Tuffys is the only mechanic in Tampa I go to. Highly recommended.

Did not care for this establishment everything took entirely too long to perform most of the time they only had one mechanic on duty when I got my car back had a couple of issues they inform me said it wasnt their problem

Get oil changes, regular maintenance, and tires plugged here... always had fair prices will to work with u and never had a problem with it being to long of a wait.... Eric there is the best has done all my work there when I go and never had to come back unless it was a new issue.... definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs service done... just got this out my tire and eric did it super fast and no issues... love this place

Overall great experience with this shop, they explained the repairs needed clearly got my parts there in the time it takes to order a pizza and had me back on the road in just another hour. I’ve been to a lot of different shops but I’ve finally found one that I can trust to get the job done quickly and right the first time. Ive been going to this repair shop for probably about eight years now, and Ive always felt like Ive been given amazing service at an amazing value. I trust with these guys say to me, Ive never felt like I was being taken advantage of. I always work with Nick when I walk in, and I always appreciate how knowledgeable and kind he is. I remember one time when I wasnt able to afford to fix my car all the way, and Nick work with me to show me which things needed to be fixed to make the car be able to drive off the lot, and which things can wait and be done at a later time. Ill never go to a different auto repair shop as long as I live in the greater Tampa area

We have been going to this place for years and have always been treated amazingly and prices are always great! I literally was driving there for something else one day when my tire blew just as I was turning in to the place... I had all 3 children with me. They were so accommodating and very quick to get the tire I needed delivered right away so that we werent stuck or waiting too long. Fixed it same day and even recommended a place to get food delivered. Cant believe how family friendly they are! I wont go anywhere else ever!

I have been going to Tuffy for over 10 years and have taken 5 different vehicles there. Honest and value and service have always been the best, they have taken time to explain things without pressuring me to pay for things I didnt need right then, because sometimes money is tight and things happen. The management staff has always been professional, friendly and a accommodating. I wish every mechanic was like this location.

I love this! They diagnosed and fixed my car with no problem and if you do have a complaint, theyll listen and offer to fix it at no charge or fraction of the price!

We have been using Tuffy for a few years now. Always a great friendly staff, quick oil changes and when repairs are needed, they work quickly to fix the issue. We recently had to have an alternator put on our Toyota Camry and the job was done in a timely manner and an affordable cost.I would suggest if you need automobile repair, put Tuffy’s number in your phone for the best service.

Went there with several issues and they were able to diagnose all the issues and quote a fair price for each issue. Pricing was on point and the manager Nick was very helpful with all of my questions and I had a lot . They were able to come within $25 of the quoted price. I have been coming to them for over 6 years back when they were on Fowler Ave in Temple Terrace. Keep up the great work.

I took my 2009 Honda Civic to here because it needed new rear shocks. They installed them (as well as new tires, some air and fuel filters). Pretty quickly after I left, I noticed a crunching sound from the right rea shock whenever I went over bumps. I worked throughout the week so it wasnt until the following Saturday that I took my car back. I spent another 3+ hours (I spent roughly 4 hours there on the original date of service) and they told me that they couldnt find the problem and asked to bring it back another day. So I continue to work throughout the week so it wasnt until the following Saturday (my third consecutive Saturday at Tuffy) that I took my car back (extra early, right at opening time). I spent another 3+ hours there. The told me that they replaced the shocks with new ones. I took drove it home. The right shock stopped making crunching sounds, but suddenly I could hear the left shock making crunching sounds (I suspect that the sounds of the right shock drowned out those of the left and I didnt notice them until the right shock was repaired).. Also, now there was a squeaking sound. At THIS point, I had lost faith in this place to actually fix the problem so I didnt bother taking it back.

Last year November 2019, I went to this tuffy location to buy a battery and an oil change. The big white guy lied and sold me a bad battery that I have replaced a couple of months later he blame it 😂 on my car, refuse to replace the battery instead he suggested I purchase a new battery. WOW... The Mechanic Mike didnt install the battery incorrectly, and to put back the base of car properly cause it to be damage and didnt take no responsibility for their misdeeds... I hope one day no more customers will go to this place. I cursed this place for that,,, evil mechanics thieves.

After moving to FL 20 years ago and having a difficult time finding a reputable mechanic. I tried Tuffy. 7 vehicles later and my entire household trusts Adam, Nick and crew to get it done at a fair price and always done right the first time.

Honest & helpful. Provide timely and great service along with helpful advice for upcoming services when needed. I would advise my lady friends to this location. These guys have serviced my cars for over 15 years. I have had only 2 cars and Camero the first was lost in a wreck ; ( This alone speaks for the good service received from Adam and Nick his customer service writer and his team of good service providers. I rarely over all these years have had a break down. With the regular services they keep my Monte Carlo running sweet !

Seemed nice, just got an oil change.Fast forward a couple months and my car is smelling like it has an oil leak.The issue? The oil cap wasn’t put back on.A support piece that keeps the engine stable became warn and the extra sway caused the issue to become noticeable.

Its never fun hearing your car make an odd groan or squeal, but its nice having a place to go to where you know theyll treat you right. I was back just recently. Like usual, Adam took care of the car. Prices are very competitive,the place is clean, and there are plenty of oulets for my phone and laptop.

Went for oil change at 9. They gave an appointment at 12. I have to come back again. But service was good. I read reviews from other auto service center and thought it will take time to do my job here. It was weekend and they took around 30 min.

I went in with my Audi A3 and asked for just a standard oil change. Before they looked at the car, the guy asked me what type of air filter it was.He told me they recommend changing the air filter with every oil change. I said no thanks, I’ll do that myself. Then he said, “I really wouldn’t want to change my oil without changing the filter”I said Id rather not change it right now. Then he said, “well we can’t change the oil WITHOUT changing the air filter.”I told him “I guess I’ll have to take my business elsewhere.” And he’s like ok and I walked out.I’m pretty sure the air filter he showed me on the screen was the wrong one anyway. They probably wouldn’t have changed anything.

Expert scam artist. Tried to tell me my caliber was broken (which they broke because they incorrectly took it off) and tried to charge me $200 to fix it. I told him I would bring my own. So I brought my own...less than 6 months later my brakes are now malfunctioning due to them putting it back together wrong and causing me more money from the damage they did. DO NOT trust them to do anything on your car. All they are looking for is a way to scam you.

I would give this place negative stars but I can’t... I’m warning anyone now don’t go here for there services because from my encounter I only wanted to check my front brakes and they told me I needed it done immediately (checked with other shops after I left here they said I have 2 more months of life on my front brakes), they told me a different price on phone than in person. When I left their shop because they were way to expensive, the mechanic who did my car told me they damaged the wheel studs (cross treaded 2 of them and over tightened one) which means In a couple days I would have been either in a car crash on the side of the road because of these guys

Ive been going here fore four years, I go to get my oil changed and Ive never been charged for anything outrageous. Maybe something small like an air filter or steering fluid but they have never tried to tell me I need expensive work done. They are also very nice and I really hate to go anywhere else but I just recently moved.

They helped us when we had an issue with the Pep Boys on Bearss Ave. at least the Manager here was pleasant

Dropped my car off for an agreed $50 full synthetic. When I arrived to pick up my car, the auto technician informed me my car took an extra quart of oil and it was going to cost me $70 for the oil change. I argued that I had gotten my oil changed their before and was charged $50 for the same deal. They then told me that my car had never been serviced at their shop (calling me a liar) and that they could remove the extra oil from the car (sarcastically) if thats what I wanted. Bottom line, I thought this was a good shop considering my first experience but my last experience has proven they are out to deceive their customers. Be careful.

Great prices, especially for USF students (ask for the student discount). They fixed my car quickly, and didnt point out 100 problems. They are trustworthy and professional.

Honest easy to talk to they tell you what your car needs and what it should have but can go without my truck had some mismatched parts and they worked around it...all of the negative reviews which arent many clearly dont have the first clue about vehicle repairs or no how hard it is to find an honest group of mechanics..there often busy but still work quickly and have never charged a peny more than quoted.

Tuffys....dropped the ball big time after moving from their old location to the new location. I understand that some places would not mess with aftermarket stuff, which i do understand if its complicated stuff. But asking for a simple exhaust leak check and tightning some bolts....isnt that a mechanics specialty? Just flat out refused to help me or barely talk to me because my car was modified. And they were too busy looking at their phones. I understand its slow, but customer service is very important...especially being at the front desk. But when i walked out of the shop, i see a classic mustang (prob modded) on the stand being looked at. And oh yeah...there were barely any cars and they were just standing there. Old location and the staff was much better because they at least tried to help and LOOKED at my modified car before. Shame tuffy. Shame. I truly hope this is only a 1 star review because i used to have respect for tuffys. Reputation truly matters these days. But meanwhile...theres much better shop around the corner.

7 year customer and counting, honest, straight shooters

This is the worst place ever... I paid $165 for tune up and my car broke down half mile away from Tuffy, then I paid another $90 for the tow truck to take my car back to Tuffy and all they said is not my fault... they Dont know what they doing now the transmission is damaged. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE PEOPLE... THEY DONT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MECHANICS.

A/C went out in my car, so I took it in. After about an hour they tell me that the whole compressor needs to be replaced, and was going to run me at least $900. Took it to a different shop for a second opinion and was told that only my condenser fan needed to replaced because it had seized up, not the whole compressor. Got the repair done at the other shop for about a third of the price ($350) that Tuffy had quoted me, and now my A/C works just like it used to. Will never be coming back.

This place is like a legal scam, they will quote you thousands in repairs when you clearly dont need it. I got a quote for 1400$ in repairs, fix my problem for 45$ at another place.

Asked to get a price to fix an oil leak and they were not very responsive.

Gave them a call to ask about rates and predicted times. All I received was a cold disconnection which ended in them hanging up on me while I was asking a question. Not sure how good they are, but their customer service isnt up to par.

I put the rear wheel on and they supposedly repaired it but the next day it was still the same because they were not able to check it for the screw that had punctured it but instead put the injection so x side of the screw ... But to charge there is if more expensive than in all the places to which I have gone

They have a bad service, they sell the wrong tires and too high the cost, women who go alone to that workshop are very careful because they abuse with the previous one when they see that they are alone to buy
