Pretty good place. Not the biggest selection of ice creams, but what they do, they do well. The mint chocolate chip is really light and not overpowering, the slated caramel is decadent and the cookies and cream is cookies and cream. Super busy on hot days, with lines out the door.

A place that serves up quality ice cream in Tacoma. Although they do not have a great number of flavors on hand, the moderate selection that they do is delicious. Feel free to enjoy classic staples like cookies and cream, chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, and others or dare to try one of their rotating concoctions. Further, you can chose to have your scoop (which is quite big) in a cup or waffle cone (for an additional $1). Staff was friendly. Pricing was a bit high. Be prepared to wait in line for a bit, as it often extends out the door.

Adorable ice cream shop right on 6th Ave in Tacoma! The waffle cones are also super delicious! I will say, I saw a lot of really good reviews and didn’t think there was a whole lot of variety in flavors but we were there in the off season and I prefer fruitier flavors. The shop is smaller n not many menu selection than the other shop in Ruston. But the workers r friendly n the ice cream is still tasty, QUOLITY! there is a blackboard, so the kids can draw. They have the souvenir sections n to go ice cream, too.For moms, there is no diaper table, but there is a box side table/storage( see one of pics), so you might be able to use it.The street parking is always tough, but if you know well abt 6th ave, you must have idea of where else to park.

Ice cream social is my favorite ice cream place in Tacoma. They have great dairy free flavors. The first time I ordered the almond poppy seed flavor and the employee told me it reminded her of a Costco muffin. OMG!!! I have not had a Costco muffin since being diagnosed with celiac. It tasted exactly like a almond poppy seed muffin. I go out of my way to get an ice cream at ice cream social.

If you appreciate simple, high-quality ice cream that is local, organic, and delicious, this is the place to go! I give it four stars because the 6th Avenue location is less than glamorous and the parking is questionable, but the fun atmosphere makes up for it, and if you really cant deal with an uninspiring part of town, there are other locations. A visit not to be missed!

Fun ice cream place in Tacoma! The ice cream is of the finest quality, and tastes amazing! The staff is very friendly, and we’re super accommodating with my allergies. They went to the back and got a clean scoop!It was extremely busy when I went, with the line going out the door halfway around the block, but with good reason, because the ice cream is amazing!Overall 8/10 would eat here again. Definitely would recommend!

My family loves ice cream social. The flavors are great and theyre doing online orders AND takeout! Today was the first day my family took a nice walk outside and we went straight there. Ashamed I havent left 5 stars in the 3 years Ive been coming here! I make my own ice cream, and its reeeeal good, but you can catch me here regardless. The waffle cones are a must! In terms of classics, dont snooze on the almond poppyseed, and the coffee uses Valhalla beans so its pretty incredible.

Homemade Ice cream from local sources makes great flavors!! Stopped in for my sons first birthday and was blown away by the excellent ice cream here. Even bought a pint (its bigger than a Ben & Jerrys pint at the store be far!!!) to bring home - which they split between two flavors. Great place and will be frequenting this place a lot.

Im all about trying new flavors of ice cream and I always am able to do that here. Friday nights and weekends the lines can get up to 20 minutes, however, weekdays (even during the nights) I can usually get in without any line. This location and Rustons location are definitely the best ice cream in Tacoma!Favorite flavors include: almost poppy seed, roasted banana, and Aztecan Chocolate (has chili powder flakes or something spicy in it).

My wife and I came here for her birthday. The people here are wonderful. The girl at the front that helped us was fun and pleasant. I also appreciate anyone who is patient with me as sometimes I take a bit longer to decide on things when there is so much to choose from. I got the hot apple tart with the butter pecan ice cream. It was THE BOMB.

Very popular. Lots of great non-dairy icecream options too (but make sure to ask for the non-dairy cone). Lots of take-home items like sprinkles and fudge sauce. Great neighborhood for foodies but Parking can be scarce.

THE BEST ICE CREAM IN TACOMA!!! Also, I would argue the best ice cream in Washington but I haven’t had all the ice cream in Washington so that seems a bit much. Honestly the ice cream is so good. My go to is the split scoop with Valhalla coffee and cookies and cream ice cream but all the other options on their menu are to die for and in the summer they make the best fresh mint ice cream in the world. If you go to one place for ice cream, go to ice cream social.

Wow. This was an unexpected find. From the outside it looks small and unassuming. Inside is three bars, lots of games, a bowling alley, and great food and drinks. I wish we knew about this plave on past visits. Bartenders were outstanding and helpful with food recommendations.

The smells alone are enough for 5 stars. Ive watched the workers literally make waffles and roll them into cones to serve ice cream on. It doesnt get more delicious. All the flavors have been good, you cant go wrong. Still waiting on a peanut butter flavor though! 🤞will continue to go back multiple times a week.

Their monthly seasonal flavors are creative and tasty. Staff are always friendly! A little on the pricier side, but I dont mind for how good it is.

Delicious like you would expect. Creamy, exotic flavors that may or may not be on the menu of the day. The Lavender is wonderful. They also have dairy free options. So far, no sugar free varieties are available. The dine area is small and there may be a long line to order (not unusual to be out the door!). Dont worry, start a good conversation and youll be next in no time. Just be sure youve decided what to order to keep the line going.

Wanted some ice cream and found this place. Its a cute fun little shop and the ice cream was tasty. The Almond poppyseed was delicious. The prices were high though, especially once I saw the scoop size. But a fun place to have some ice cream. Parking is a little tough, too.

The smell is to die for. You can smell the place a block away. Pistachio ice cream is good here and I dont even like pistachio. Ask for a free sample!

Charged me 20 bucks for 4 scoops the chocolate taste like we bought it at a grocery store. My girlfriend asked for a cone gave her a cup. The ice cream isn’t creamy it’s chunky not smooth. If you feel like going here go to Safeway and save 15 bucks and get double the ice cream that taste the exact same.

I do admit it can get outrageously busy, but this place has the most amazing ice cream and handmade cones in Tacoma. You can order a single split scoop or a double if youre up for it. There is always something to love with their variety between monthly, everyday, and dairy-free flavors. I suggest taking a sample of something youre curious about, even if you wouldnt get it in a cup or cone. My favorite is a cone with a split single of strawberry and chocolate ❤

If you want real quality ice cream, and delicious flavors this is an excellent choice! They have standard flavors, monthly rotating flavors, and non dairy options such as sorbets and coconut milk ice cream. The smell of the waffle cones entices you in, and then the multiple tempting choices makes it hard to decide (so go for a double scoop). The staff is always friendly and hustling quickly to keep the line moving quickly. They choose local, fresh, and high quality ingredients.

The flavor profiles are definitely not for me. It was super hard to find something I would like to actually eat but once I found it, it was delicious.

On a recent college tour swing my daughter and I made two visits. Verdict: good ice cream. I appreciated the simple menu: they have a limited selection of standard flavors, plus a few exotic options, e.g. Lavender, and Lemon Basil. I went with a Salted Caramel Sundae and a Strawberry Sundae. My daughter went with Lavender on day 1 and Lemon Basil the next day. Two thumbs up.

This place is a typical hipster ice cream shop. I dont mean that in a bad way. The ice cream is great and the service is matching with quick friendly service. They also make their waffle cones fresh, which is a huge plus in my opinion. The environment is casual. The only drawback is parking. They do not have dedicated parking, so it can be a challenge finding parking when the area is busy.

I thought that I liked Ben & Jerrys ice cream until I came here. This is my new favorite ice cream place. They have their staple flavors, but also a rotating menu of seasonal flavors featuring local foods like the Valhalla coffee, the Mad Hatter Earl Grey ice cream (that one was so good) and all sorts of other great things like that. They have a bunch of vegan options as well. Plus there is a bike corral right out front so there is plenty of bike parking.

I like how they have new flavors of ice cream every day. They also have non dairy options and the prices arent bad at all. The ice cream tastes better than store bought. I will definitely be going back!!

If you visit during off-peak times, you can easily score a seat to savor your treats. They have so many great flavors with creative options daily that rotate through. Last time I tried the pecan flavor and it was heaven. With the renovation, its much easier to get in and out.

Love the ice cream and the vibe here. Good music and an overall great environment to chill out at and enjoy an ice cream cone. They also have pints to go and can pack fresh pints if they dont have the flavor you want.

The mint chocolate chip ice cream is very good; however, the chocolate chips are a little on the large size for ice cream. The Valhalla coffee ice cream is the best coffee ice cream Ive ever tasted. I know I will be disappointed by any other coffee ice cream in the future and now have been spoiled. I would recommend that Ice Cream Social be a must visit when in the Tacoma area.

Such an amazing stop located in downtown Tacoma. In a cute little shop with quite the eclectic menu of flavors. I had Strawberry Balsamic and Mad Top Chai. Wow were they super tasty. I will definitely be returning for more of their delectables.

Ice cream is wonderful! The flavors are simple but fulfilling - and full of so much quality. I got snickerdoodle and they did not skimp on the cookie added.I would have expected a little better service, although I won’t judge too hard as it was busy.There were four workers behind the counter, so they weren’t short on staff, but were short with my group.After tasting a flavor, I was immediately asked to move to the side to make room for other customers. I was unable to move as there were very small children in the way unable to understand that I was trying to pass. Because of this, the gentleman behind the counter became increasingly aggressive about asking us to move to the side.The young lady handing me my ice cream was also very short with my groups entire transaction.I will go there again, and will recommend this place to friends, but will definitely highlight that the service might be subpar.

Honestly at our house we are Gluten Free and Dairy Free do to allergies, come on think about what place has Ice cream we could have out of the top of your had that isnt like a 3 hour drive. So we pull up and there is no line and then we go inside to be greeted by a friendly place with friendly faaces not only did they have Dairy Free Ice Cream they had Vegan fudge and Vegan, Gluten Free, Soy Free, and Nut free Cheesecake. Over all good place.
