What a great place to pick up Tacoma memorabilia. Super nice workers, great help in picking out things to get, very cool products. Great place to shop.
I was impressed by the graphic design on many of the works. Couldn’t get them off my mind and went back a few days later and picked up a few items. From nautical woodcut screen prints and bold T-town graphics, great selection. Prices could always be better but I imagine that Proctor ain’t cheap.
I was really looking forward to buying this cute sweatshirt I saw in the window. So after I finished up at the farmer’s market, I stepped inside the store with my 3 year old and my 5 year old. Right after I sanitized my hands, I was informed that it was required for everyone to wear a mask regardless of their ages. I was already complying and wearing a mask, but the employee insinuated my two children needed to have masks on as well. Willing to respect the store policy, I said, “Great. Where are the masks for the children to wear while we shop?” The employee replied “Oh, we don’t have any masks for them to wear.” Flustered and frustrated I replied, “I guess I won’t be buying anything in your store today!“ She replied, “All right! Thanks for informing me.“ I said, “You are welcome.“ Being a new single mom, I have nobody else to watch my children outside the store in order for me to shop at the store. Instead of a sarcastic response, it would have been appreciated if the employee had a little empathy for me. I am upset by such an absurd policy anyways. Does that mean a six month old baby hast to wear a face mask? Governor Insley does not require three-year-olds to wear masks! I forgot a mask for my five-year-old because I wasn’t planning on being inside a store that day. I can’t even impulse shop thanks to the pandemic and the silly policies people have in place! Businesses should have masks available for their customers because it is unfair for those who don’t have access to a mask. How can a small business treat their customers this way? Now I will never shop inside the store and I will make sure my family and friends hear about this experience, as well as the general public. So much for trying to support a local business!
I walked in and was able to walk around the entire store yet the owner didn’t acknowledge me with a glance, hello, or how can I help you. Surprising as every other store visited in the area wasn’t like this.
Tried supporting a local buisness that I once loved on small buisness Saturday and was turned away because my 16 month old wasn’t wearing a mask. I get that there are mandated for masks for everyone over the age of 2 but ask me to mask my 16 month old is a bit extreme. Will take my buisness elsewhere from now on.
Great local spot. Their Instagram address link annoying takes you to the print shop rather than the retail location though.
Dont Seattle my Tacoma!
