Such a lovely and chill place! Their specials are bomb (today we had a grilled cheese with sauerkraut and sausage and tomato soup), and their meets and cheese are (of course) on point (pictured: meat plate and roasted garlic & Pierre-Robert)! A good place to hang out for a while and leisurely snack on all the great menu items, a favorite of mine being the bacon wrapped dates (also pictured). Drinks are also great, whether you’re going for a traditional whiskey on the rocks or a fun cocktail like the “fall mule” which featured a hint of cinnamon apple!
Heard about this place and that they had just started Sunday Brunch. Sounded good so made a reservation for today. I ordered Crab Benedict. Crab was sandwiched between bread egg on top with hollandaise sauce - delicious! Egg was perfectly cooked. Friend ordered cream brulee French Toast ( they have flavor of the day) that was todays flavor - she said delicious! Your side was a small bowl of fresh fruit or cheesy potatoes.I would like to try dinner menu when we go again. We sat in bar, had the cutest light holders over bar, old box springs! Check out pictures.
Jenny and Steve are fantastic, and Stink is one of my absolute FAVORITE places in Tacoma! Their specials are always delicious (go get their mac and cheese right now), and their sandwiches are heavenly. Steve takes such pride and care in giving you the most perfect wine flight. Jenny is so kind and positive with every single interaction. I play music here live often and they treat musicians with respect and make it an awesome environment for friends and family to come listen, catch up over a great meal and a drink, and leave happy. I can’t wait to grab brunch there soon, which I haven’t done yet, but I’ve heard is magnificent! If you’re looking for a place to get great food and enjoy a fun, comfortable, warm and inviting atmosphere, look no further than Stink.
This is my favorite place! Jenny & Steve are amazing & so is the food. I love the stinky specials and the Sunday brunch is amazing! We have even had them cater for us is the past and it was fabulous!I give them 10 stars!
Great place for brunch! Bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys. Staff were fun and friendly. Definitely will be back.
Very cool location with nice quiet vibe. I feel like it is a definite go-to for wine and cheeses. There were a few cocktails on their menu. The Manhattan was made with a Sazerac Rye, Pecan Whiskey and dark walnut bitters. It didn’t contain any vermouth so not really quite a Manhattan. The smell and nuttiness of pecan and dark walnut bitters were completely steamrolled by the undiluted high proof whiskies here. It was like drink a full glass of straight whiskey. I even poured some of my water into it to help and it was just too much. Despite my friend group and wife urging me to send it back, I opted to keep quiet about it.My wife ordered the Marion berry mule and it tastes fantastic. Our server was super friendly, made excellent wine recommendations and checked in often.Wonderful spot for wine, hit and miss on making cocktails though.
It smells so good when you walk in, everyone is friendly. Wines are okay but their food is tasty.
Excellent service and amazing food! We did a catered lunch and everything from ordering to pickup was effortless. Thanks!
Cant ever get in because parking is non existent. Dont waste your time. Unless you want to jog a mile to eat cheese.
Perfect place to grab drinks after work. I love their cheese boards and drink selection. Their food is top notch. Get the Turkey sub. Every Friday I look forward to their crab chowder.
Amazing food. Staff is very personable and friendly definitely will be eating there again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!
Good food, relaxed atmosphere and drinks. My friend said STINK reminded her of the simple European cafes she had gone too.
I recommend this place to anyone in the Tacoma area. 2 of the best things in life are cheese and wine. How can you go wrong?
Excellent variety of cheese and bread. The aged vinegar was awesome! Unique decor and huge wine selection, full bar.
STINK was amazing incredible food and service. We had the bacon wrapped dates and triple creme brie appetizers. So yummy and the attention to details pairing the cheese with candied pecans, fresh roasted garlic, and red grapes. Great wine selection I had a Malbec and Pinot that were great. The best part though was THE Turkey this sandwich cant be beat the warm crunchy baguette turkey and mango chutney are a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Love this place❤️
Stink is a really cool spot in Tacoma serving wines and cheeses. After going there a couple years ago and having a delightful sandwich and salad I opted to check out the happy hour. The drinks are $1 off house wine, beer and sangria. I really enjoyed the red sangria, and tried a sip of the White which was also good. Others in my group had the house red and found it good. The happy hour foods were okay, but fairly priced. Had the happy hour 3 cheese platter. Had three small slices of unknown cheeses, delicious roasted pecans, grapes and fig bread. The rosemary bread was a small little loaf served with olive oil and balsamic (a really good balsamic). If they choose to up their happy hour food game I will surely become a regular.
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Fantastic cheese plates.
For $12 I got all the sandwich I could want, and it was GREAT (cheesy British). Had the Mac n Cheese side which was phenomenal! The variety of Cider, Beer, & wine rotate a bit, so its fun to come back again.Everybody in the group had something different (7 of us) and they all loved it.The place gets really loud if it starts to get full, so conversation can be hard to have... By the time we left (6:15 ish on a Saturday night) we had to really raise our voices to be heard at the other end of the 6 foot table. As you might notice, I started eating before taking the picture... Just couldnt wait!
Ordered trifecta. My order today included tomato and basil, small house salad, and half salami sandwich.Very yummy. If you like balsamic vinegar youll enjoy it.
The food was excellent. Everything tasted great, especially for the price point. We sat at the bar and ordered the Antipasto, Stinkballs, Spinach Salad with orange and goat cheese, and the Caprese with chicken. I had the pineapple rosé cider and my friend tried a couple of the red wines. The Stinkballs were our favorite (and keto friendly). The atmosphere was really chill and friendly. Well definitely be back!
What a delightful place to visit! Husband and I brought our chessboard and played while enjoying a meat and cheese platter plus wine. Met the new owner and thoroughly enjoyed our time here, we will be back!
A great spot for food and drink. Casual with a great assortment of Wine, Antipasti, and sandwiches
Cute small place with a small but excellent selection of cheese for a really good price, highly recommend
Great apps and good selection of beers and wines. Service was lovely.
A great experience! We ordered a bottle of the Malbec. Everything tasted amazing.
This place was so inviting, great service, wonderful food, amazing staff, definitely some where you can take a date, or friend to get caught uo and have wine and have antipasta tray . We really enjoyed everything about this place ... we will all be returning there soon . GREAT JOB
Take out in minutes. The food is always delicious. The workers are always friendly. Great prices for delicious food.
Great place all around. Small lil owner operated eatery. Im a chef foodie and general critic but place surpasses expectations. Bacon wrapped figs with goat cheese..wair..what?! OMG...everything great. What a hidden gem!
Great customer service and good drinks! It was fun to try different cheeses
Theyre the best local wine club in Tacoma, if not only one with a restaurant (monthly, month to month membership). Their small plates and entrees are great. Come for the dates and the ambiance. They do great hot food takeout too. Order their lava cake and bake at home 😋
Fantastic little spot. He even asked if we didnt like certain cheeses and gave us extra almonds since we are doing keto right now. We had cocktails, which arent their thing so it makes sense they werent anything special. Great variety of cheese, though pretty sure the manchego is the one from costco which is good, but was a bit disappointing.
I asked for the house rosè, recommended by Jenny (one of the owners). Pretty sure I and my friend friend drank the whole bottle. This place treats you like you’re the only one there, providing personalized service, along with delicious food. Even the BREAD is amazing because it comes with aged balsamic. What a great place to get together with friends!
Reviewing for Sunday Brunch*** my husband and I went for brunch today and were very satisfied. They dont have a kitchen, so their equipment is limited to mobile pieces on the counter top. It was concerning at first, but we were not disappointed in the quality of food at all. The monte stinko was perfect, cheesy delicious potatoes, but the creme brulee bread pudding French toast was phenomenal. And it was HUGE! Bottomless mimosas for a very reasonable $14. For 2, with 1 specialty mimosa we spent only $30! Theyre underselling themselves on pricing by far. Will definitely be back.
Rude staff. Bad phone manners. Won’t be taking my business here.
Amazing owners warm and personable. I’m a very tough critic I literally always can find something to complain about and I had nothing to say but more please. I’ll definitely be back. I can’t wait to try the dinner recipe, this time it was the lunch menu
One of my favorite places in Tacoma for wine and great food! Staff is the best!!
Awesome food and wine. Very good bottle selection.
Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and delicious food!
Steve and Jenny do the absolute best job at STINK. Whether its the hilarious quips from Steve, or the earnest efforts of Jennys hard work; STINK continues to be a worthwhile experience. The antipasti and a delicious wine is perfect for a quick bite and a stroll around town, while they dont shy away from having their own take on full entrees that never fail to delight. If I could give this place 20 stars, I would.
Love this place. Good atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Yummy food. Great wine.
Went to Stink the other night and just loved it. The atmosphere is totally casual and comfortable. There is a restaurant side and a bar side. The food was wonderful! We shared three tappas and they were delicious! It was quiet enough to talk and listen which I enjoyed very much. There is only street parking so I had to circle a few times to find a space, but it was totally worth it. Try it out!!
Lovey mushroom soup. Great cheeses.
The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. Grabbed a couple bottles of nice wine as well. Definatly Will be going back.
Good drinks, amazing food, excellent service. If your looking for something super tasty without a lot of hype give this place a try!!Weve been twice and both times tried something different and have been amazed with everything put in front of us!
Steve (owner) is so nice! And the selection of cheeses was really interesting. I recommend the 5 cheese selection. Also the bread with chorizo butter is to die for. This is a gem - it has a fun, easy going vibe with great food and great prices.
An it more on the expensive side for a lunch stop..and probably many consider small plate portions..but always tasty..and generally not something youll find anywhere else. Most of the various Mac and cheeses have been very much on strong flavor mixes.. only have 2 kinds.. what ever the special is..and a cheddar I believe
Bit spendy, but good selection
Stink is our go to date spot. The food is delicious and we enjoy trying wines with the help of the staff recommendations and great selection. They have fun tasting and music events too which make a perfect date solution. Weve tried the soups, macaroni and sandwiches and everything is delicious. The mushroom soup is my favorite and The Stink sandwich was surprisingly good. Give the macaroni special a try.
Loved their antipasto and aged balsamic. Making plans to go back.
Great service, great cocktails, great cheese plates.
Ive been here for lunch every time I visit Tacoma downtown. Expect quick service and high quality food. Ive had different things from sandwiches, soups and mac & cheese. Everything Ive had has tasted great. The staff is nice and courteous and pays attention to your order. This place is also fairly priced. I will go back again.
Good food, friendly service, for a reasonable price. One of the owner,s Steve, is there whenever I go in and he goes out of his way to find me the right wine. I like unusual grapes and he appreciates my preference and doesnt try to fit HIS wine into MY taste. I enjoy that he is trying to carry wine that I like and I enjoy taking my friends from out of the area there. Great place at a great value.
We walked in hungry and from another city, no idea what to expect, other than meat, cheese, and wine. It was a really busy Saturday night, and one of us was vegetarian. Service was friendly, and the menu included lots of non-meat options (not vegan, but that wasnt a problem for us). The guy told us the kitchen was backed up, so we drank wine while we waited for food to arrive. The cheese was delicious, the champiñones were next-level delicious, everything was lovely. We were able to order the perfect amount of food, and since it came out when it was ready, we didnt have to gorge ourselves all at once. Nice, non-pretensious atmosphere, good menu, great wines. If Im ever back in Tacoma, Id come here again.
One of THE best places to eat. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Service is great too.
Wife and I went there for our first time and got a white flight and rose flight with a single cheese plate and loved the entire environment and experience. Our server was informative and helpful with making decisions for us based upon our likes. I dont eat bread and the baguette that came with our cheese plate was delicious!-Well be back!!
The new management is amazing. I went during the soft opening and was totally blown away. Im not familiar with Spanish or Portuguese wine but the manager was able to help me based on my flavor profile. I ordered the veggie sandwich (which was incredible) and my friend ordered the turkey sandwich and an old fashioned. Seriously the best old fashioned either of us have ever had. I found a new favorite. Thanks Ramsey ;)
Having kids we dont go out much so the one time we did get out it was nice to go to a friendly relaxed atmosphere with fun conversation and met some sweet folks while we were there. Always great food! Most recently, I got the mac n cheese !! Soo good, wonderful mix of cheeses and topped with smokey crispy bacon. I asked for some type of fruity drink and was not disappointed.
This place is a gem. One of a kind atmosphere and absolutely wonderful owners. If you’re looking to try something new this is it! Jenny and Steve provide a great experience! One of my favorites!
Good place for brunch. Parking was easy on Sunday This place is great! Good people & food & drink(s) My friend & I had the Prosciutto Benedict on a Croissant potatos & cheese. I also had the fruit bowel. Everything was excellent. Will definitely be back soon. thank you, peace to you
Sweet, fun atmosphere. Great way to start the evening for both date and lady night. Fun day time spot too, even offering brunch! Service is awesome and staff are knowledgeable. Looking foward to more love music events in the future.
As a cheese lover, this is the place to go! Its got a great happy hour for drinks and yummy bites. I love their cheese plates, the owner or chef have come over multiple times to tell me about the cheeses on my plate. This place also hosts great events quite often.
Both the wine selection and cheese selection are fabulous. A flight of three wines and the trifecta : half sandwich, cup of soup and generous high quality side salad is the way to go
Im not a big cheese eater but this place has chance my mind and now I love cheese, great place to be with friends or family. Great job guys.
Super Awesome cafe! LOVED the Mac n Cheese! GREAT service, and VERY reasonably priced!
What a cool place! We went for tapas and were NOT disappointed. The antipasti platter is delicious, as are the mushroom empanadas and the bacon wrapped, goat cheese stuffed dates.
Cute little grilled cheese bistro, great for a fun casual date
Had a fantastic meal here after coming in on a friends recommendation. Had a turkey sandwich with their house salad, along with utterly delectable rosemary bread. Cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff, really cannot think of anything to complain about at all... Glad I went! Highly suggest coming in if you like meat or cheese.
A very nice restaurant with a fun and sometimes quirky menu. My only wish is that I had the opportunity to stop by more often. I would recommend the prosciutto and brie.
Owner Jenny makes this place what it is. Great service. Knowledgeable on their offerings. Sincere care while being there. Try the cheese stuffed dates while youre there. So yum.
Ive admittedly never tried the tapas, but the soup and sandwiches lead me to believe that this local spot carefully considers their concoctions. After about a dozen visits Ive had every lunch item they prepare: all excellent.Stinks real takeaway is that their food has delicately balanced flavors using a variety of ingredients to become more than the sum of their parts. If that isnt enough, they serve craft beer and hand-picked wines that all punch way above their label price, particularly in pairing with the food.
Delicious food. Simple and delicious!!! Mushroom empanadas were filled with so much flavor. Perfect. Cheese plate was just as good. Our sandwiches were good as well - can’t go wrong with anything here.
Excellent service. Great selection of cured meats and cheeses. The bacon wrapped dates and the blue cheese stuffed dates are amazing.
Had the brie and prosciutto sandwich with a cup of curry soup. It was very tasty. Service was excellent in the quite atmosphere.
Ive gone in twice, once for happy hour, and once to buy cheeses. Both times were awesome. Stink is hands down the best place to buy cheeses and charcuterie in Tacoma. The staff is great and will spend time helping you pick out your favorites of their reasonably priced inventory.
This place does actually stink, but the food is really good. I got a sandwich and the meat and cheese sampler, and before arriving home I realized I didnt have a beverage. I stopped at the local 7/11 for a Slurpee, and upon returning to my car, I couldnt escape the aroma of feet. Not ideal. I rolled my windows down, and it went away mostly. Once I got home, I tried the salami sandwich and it was heavenly. The aged white cheddar cheese was the best though. I want to eat a whole block of it, but I dont think future Kyle would appreciate that very much. Five stars.
I love this place. The mango aioli on the turkey sandwich is to die for. Everything Ive ever ordered here its amazing. The turkey, the salami, the stinker sandwiches to the Mac and cheeses, to the soups salads and cheese cakes. Ive had it all and its all so so good. Best kept secret in Tacoma! The staff are always so nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere is perfect.
Great place to relax with friends. Amazing food and wine selection. It takes sincere effort to find something bad on the menu. I havent been able to do it. Service is excellent. Very knowledgeable and cool laid back people. One year later: I am consistently astounded by the quality of service, the quality of food, the quality of drinks and atmosphere. I wouldnt trade this lovely place for anything.
Great service, yummy tapas, nice wine, and surprisingly good music. Very enjoyable evening.
We have been twice for Sunday brunch and cannot recommend it enough. Food is great, staff is wonderful, and bottomless mimosas or bloody marys you cant go wrong. A lot of breakfasts that we love finish at noon, this one starts at 10 and goes until 3, plenty of time to enjoy your Sunday!
Ohhhh.. that pear in puff pastry.. I will definitely have to come back. The food is yummy, the bar is well stocked. Something about the feel of the place is a little empty... like, something is missing. But until I have figured out what it is, I am happy to hang out and have some more food and drink the way it is right now :)
Great atmosphere. Went here and enjoyed hearing a friend play guitar. Great wine and food. Congrats to the new owners. Great job Nick!
Recommendation from the lady at OCD Candy a couple of blocks away. The Mac and cheese, blue cheese, chix and bacon and just had to have the rosemary bread with 18 year old Balsamic. Wonderful service and great food.
Started here for the Tacoma ghost tour. Was really impressed with the interior. very nice vibe and atmosphere.
Two thumbs up on the delicious and diverse 5-cheese platter! My elderberry and gin cocktail was light and flavorful, a good contrast to the rich cheeses. Im already looking forward to some return trips to try the tapas and heartier offerings.
I live this place. Reasonable wine and beer selection, uniformly pleasant staff, good to great foods reasonably priced. It feels like a neighborhood bar.
Service was great, food was fantastic... Definitely will be going back.
Great wine and food. Jennifer and Steve are the best. BTW the brunch on Sunday was the bomb, and the live music just made it even better.
