Chris is a very nice person to deal with. He helped my husband out with information on how to make wine. And also give us good information on the bottles and corks that we needed. And he had the stuff we needed in the store.

Brandon and Chris are very knowledgeable about home brew products and what you need to correctly set up for what you want to brew.In addition they have added a taproom with outdoor seating in the back of the store! With a solid 8+ taps pouring.Want to try a new brewery? Make sure to check them out. Taproom hours are 2-8pm Thursday Friday and Saturday. 2-5pm Sunday.

We’ve picked up supplies to brew two beers, great selection. They also have a taproom with the beer they have brewed, love the setup and enjoyed the beers! Can’t wait to go back.

Went to get my CO2 refilled (5lb aluminum) and they had one ready to exchange ready to go! Will have to come back and check out the rest of the things that they have to offer.

Small space with not a lot to offer. Prices are a little higher then other places but I go here when I’m a pinch.The owner is usually rude and seem uninterested. Would recommend Beer Essentials.

I went in for some pectin enzyme and yeast to boost my mead fermentation that had stopped. They were extremely helpful and showed me quite a few good ways to do mead the next time, and also brewing tips. Also showed me some amazing looking beer brewing kits.Overall, super good customer service and knowledge of their products and craft.

Fantastic fermentation store. The guy who works there is very knowledgeable and is perfectly willing to discuss any concerns you might have. I havent been able to find better prices in Tacoma or online.

So glad to have a brew supply store close to home. Their days and hours of operation makes it very convenient to get what you need when you need it. More often than not, my brew day is Sunday and the fact that they are open on Sunday is great for me. The staff is very helpful and the store is well stocked. The guys working in this store are awesome. I usually spend more time talking to them more than I spend shopping for brew gear. They do their best to help brewers out, swapped my steel co2 tank out and managed to find another one for me so I wouldnt have to spend 95$ to buy an aluminum one. I wish more stores were like this. Great place Ill always drive up to see what theyve got instead of going online even if it means altering my recipe a little bit.

I stopped in to purchase a home brew kit and had no idea what I was doing. The guy working there took time with me and told me what I did and didnt need to start this new experience. Store is full of everything you need and the staff is very knowledgeable. Great experience! I will be back anytime I need anything.

The person working helped my wife and I find and build a beer recipe for my first go around at all grain. Ive made many ciders and a few perry, but never all grain beer. He was very patient with me which was refreshing as I was uneasy with my inexperience. Made sure to check when my brew day was and recommended I come back a day before or of to get my grain milled at no charge, which I did. I was expecting to pay way more than I did and was very satisfied with my purchases. The experience was all around great and Fermentation Initiative has earned themselves a repeat customer. I will be buying from them whenever possible and curtailing purchases for homebrew from Amazon.

Very friendly staff! Very welcoming! They have very good fresh kambucha on tap with various flavors. This is where I go to fill up my stock for the week. Saves money rather than paying for the individual bottles.

Ive been thinking of making beer at home for awhile but everything Ive read makes it sound expensive and complicated. Went to these guys and they spent some time talking and explaining the process. Turns out for about $100 I can brew 5 gal of beer at home.

Living in Gig Harbor, Im torn between heading towards Bremerton or Tacoma for supplies. This store has convenient hours, it is clean. I had a chance to speak with the owner is very nice, helpful and knowledgable. This is my new go to.

Great store run by very knowledgeable people. The hours are very commuter friendly and prices are very competitive.

Has what you need, maybe. Small, quaint. Sparse shelves, not for the hardcore brewer. But, it is one of if not the only store in the area open on Sundays, therefore a great store in a pinch.
