I am very thankful for the team at Gilchrist. Will be back In the future! Great Team and great customer service! Dave Christenson went way and beyond. Gave me my parts back so I had proof that another company had scammed me and didnt fix my car like they had said. Gilchrist was fast and efficient and is reliable. Thanks again Dave, I really do appreciate you!
Brought the Corvette in to replace a four-way hazard switch. They told me it would take about 3 hours. I consented to having this done. About two hours into the situation I returned to the dealership Im found my car parked in the back. Looking inside I saw a scrape mark going across my dashboard and fingerprints all over the inside of the windshield. Im not happy with this situation. These people did me really good jobs in the past. Thats all I can say.
Really appreciated ease of scheduling & care the team took to see my needs were met, including helping secure a rental car during the Pandemic (very few available). Chuck White & team are the best and are the reason I’ll buy my next (probably my last) truck from Gilchrist.
Went in mid-June for recalls and chafed wiring harness that caused an engine stall on freeway. While the recalls were fine and somewhat timely, their fix of the chafed wiring was not done properly according to bulletin. Went back last week to have the 1 hour repair done correctly, but was told there was no issue and aluminum tape was previously placed to stop chafing. Checked myself and found all bolts and pieces were accounted for and properly installed, which, at the service department, means the issue was never even looked at. I took my 2 year old vehicle to a performance shop to have harness repaired properly and to ensure issue would not reoccur within a few months. Well worth the time and expense to not return and be treated like a fool at Gilchrist. Pictures will show quality of inspection, repair, and aluminum tape at the service department.
Skyler was incredibly helpful, patient and kind. Buying a brand new vehicle is scary and can be stressful. But not with Skyler. He went above and beyond for us. He had great communication, was kind, friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole car experience a great one. I would drive 300 miles again and recommend anyone whos looking for a vehicle to head to Gilchrist Chevrolet. They really take care of there customers. I cant say enough on how amazing they all were here at Gilchrist Chevrolet. Thank you, Taylor
Robin in the Parts department, was above kind and helpful. She took the extra steps for this old man to get a fair market price for roof rails and a Thule cargo roof rack. She easy on the eyes too ..smile. Thanks Robin. Service dept was not selling extra needed services. Car was timely scheduled and serviced.
The ladies at the parts counter were friendly, and helpful. However when I went to service dept. The people at the desk were friendly.. but the coordination after that seemed lacking. I was there to get a keyfob programmed. I was told 30 minutes to complete as it was a pretty straight forward process. 45 minutes later I realize my truck is already out and parked up front. I see the tech get out of the truck and walk back inside so I walk up to the counter but he walks to another vehicle. Another 20 minutes goes by before I just ask the lady at the front desk if my truck is ready. She came back a few minutes later and after paying I was out the door. I get that things get busy, but if your done in 30 minutes why would a customer be left sitting for another 30 minutes and have to go seek out someone?
My husband and I were shopping for another vehicle. Our salesperson (Abe) was an immense help in finding the perfect car for us and in our price range. He was honest about certain cars we asked about and gave great insight. The purchase process went fast and smooth and we were driving off the lot in no time. If youre looking for a car for a great price and you want someone knowledgeable about automotive, go see Abe. (Thanks a lot for the experience. )
I went in for a scheduled oil change on Aug 3, 21. I asked them to check my brakes since they were squeaking, I was told that my rear pads needed replace and they quoted me $220.00 + Tax (10.3%) = $242.66. I made an appointment for Aug 31, 21 at 11 a.m. I received 2 emails reminding me of the appointment. When I arrived at 10:30 a.m. on Aug 31, 21 I was told that no one order the pads. I then was called when the pads were in and made an appointment for Sept 21, 21 at 12:30 p.m. I waited in the lobby for 3 hours and 40 minutes for them to complete the work. They charged me $132.30, which was a discount of $110.36, I was told I was only paying for the labor. I then drove home and when I went to set the emergency brake it did not work correctly. I immediately called to let them know, I was told that I would have to bring it back and they would have to totally redo everything. I went in on Sept 22, 21 at 11 a.m. and was given a rental car per my request and they said they would call when it was ready. I called at 3:30 p.m. and was told it was ready to pick up. I arrived at 4:15 p.m. to pick up my car (it took 5.25 hrs). I feel that they should have reimbursed me the $132.30 for such an inconvenience. I would still recommend Gilchrist because in the past they have given great service.
Great service department. On time, take care of the issues, shuttle service and great to work with!
Pre-scheduled oil change took 2 1/2 hours and then only due to my checking. Otherwise it likely would have been 3 1/2 or 4☹👎👎👎.Both Sunset Chev & Puyallup Chev have done this multiple time. One hour max every time.😀Gilcrest is closer to where I live but Im never going back there again!
Terrible. Diagnosed my CAMARO incorrectly, broke my gas tank trying to fix the wrong issue, car didn’t even start when I went to pick it up;They gave me a rental, but then took it back when I got the car towed, leaving me stranded (wouldn’t let me bring it back with my wife in a separate car).Overpriced, and awful service. Hard pass, save yourself some money and go elsewhere.Photo is me getting it towed home!!
We took our 2017 Malibu in because it died in the middle of the street when my wife was driving it. The dash was flashing information about low battery voltage so we assumed the alternator or battery would need to be changed. When the car was purchased brand new we also paid for an extended warranty to cover anything that could come up. They charged us $159 to tell us the battery was dead and then tried to get another $300 for a replacement battery. All not covered under the warranty we bought it seems. I could have went to Autozone for free and they could have told me the battery was the issue. Instead we tried to do the right thing and take the car to the dealership and totally got taken advantage of. Counter gals were nice, service writer that I dealt with not so much. Look for another Chevy dealership to have your service work done unless you like to be taken advantage of.
My husband and I gave detailed information about the Grade Braking activating without going down a hill. The next day, they said it was ready to go and when I left the dealership, it wasnt even a quarter mile away and it started downshifting again (and not going down a hill). Said they drove it for 9 miles and it never did it, but unless they were in manual mode or turned off the grade braking, no way should they have missed this as it was at 2,000 RPMs at 30 mph. Will not be back; for sure will stick with Titus Will.
I only come here for the free oil changes, they would have five stars but they like to move my seat on the way to the steering wheel every time I come in. This time I even changed all my mirrors for me. Always good service from the service writers.
From the owner Nick, to David the sales manager, and Jeff Stacy who helped me when my truck arrived, the entire process was professional and amazing. I got the truck I was looking for and could t get anywhere else. They made sure I was able to get one ordered. The wait was long but not as long as I expected with COVID. Fantastic dealership
They were great! I drove into Tacoma from Arkansas with a service light on and needing to leave the next day. It was 2:00 pm when I arrived and they had diagnosed the issue and repaired by 4:30. I safely made it back to Arkansas.Thank you Gilchrist!
Best car care service in Pierce County! A-1 Customer Service!Informs you of any issues and best way(s) to resolve. So glad I purchased my vehicle here. Theyre family friendly and Im a keeper for life!💯👏
I brought in my 2021 GMC sierra to get diagnosed after CEL appeared. Cylinder misfire was confirmed as I suspected. Truck was only 3 months old at this point. I was advised the next day that it needed lifters and that it would take some time. 5 1/2 weeks later I finally got my vehicle back! This is WAY too long for something like this. Then after a few days of having it back, I noticed about a quart of oil in my driveway. They put a bad filter on and I had to waste 3 or 4 hours running my truck back to the dealership to get this resolved. Customer agent was courteous and I dont blame him but wasnt the best experience of my life...
Kind of pricey but, good work so far.
Excellent service and a overall great experience with their team.
This is our second time there and both times we were well pleased with service. Great shop, very responsive and everyone customer focused.
Good fast oil and lube. In and out.
Purchased our used truck with Shade Clark who was incredible to work with! He was patient, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to get us drinks by walking to the 7-11 (our hottest weekend so far this year) when I just happened to casually mention how thirsty I was. They were unable to provide drinks due to Covid restrictions, so him walking to the store while we signed paperwork was so incredibly generous. We’ll purchase all our vehicles here, and with Shade! He’s amazing! So happy with our purchase and experience!
Fairly negative experience with their used sales department. Had test driven a vehicle and was interested in it. The original salesman I was working with was Sean and I didn’t have an issue with him. Made an offer was told it was too low. Fine understandable. However, When I called on Monday to ask if the vehicle was still available, to get a ball park estimate on what my trade in would be worth, and if my Native American status would help us come to a common ground on price. I received horrible attitude off the rip. I was told my they were into the car a thousand dollars below the listing price. I stated that I didn’t really believe that which I immediately regretted saying because the attitude only got worse from there. I couldn’t get a word in edge wise. For example when I started to ask about the trade in value the man I was talking to goes “I don’t even know what your trade in is” before I could get that information out in the open. I responded “I was just about to tell you.” And towards the end of the call he states an amount in the $6000 dollar area. I was confused if he meant that was the offer on my trade in because that sounded too high for the vehicle I was offering. He sighed and stated very slowly “I said that would be the amount left after the trade in” okay? Excuse me for making that clarification. I would’ve gone up in price had there been a counter offer instead of an attitude.
Robin in parts was very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back! Thank you Robin
We had such a wonderful experience at Gilchrist Chevrolet/GMC, specially since Ryan took over the service department it’s been nothing but wonderful addressing any issues, he’s so receptive and understanding every situation. If you buy car at Gilchrist and have it serviced with them you will be glad. Kristi in the service department is super helpful and kind too.
Brought my 2020 gmc diesel in for emissions warning message, check engine light and error message saying 165 miles until reduced speed. Service department said they need to order parts and they needed to keep my truck but didn’t have a rental to give. After 8 days they said my truck is ready for pickup. They replaced several components and listed it all on the invoice. After driving my truck for 4 days the exact message came back, check engine light and emissions warning again….. they didn’t fix anything. I would take your vehicle elsewhere!
Thank you, Shade, and Gilchrist Chevrolet for the beautiful experience in the purchase of a new- to- us SUV. We could not be more pleased.
Lifetime oil change deal with vehicle purchase is a lifesaver, and Gilchrist is fast and easy. Service is always impeccable.
I purchased my GMC truck here in August of 2018 and had an excellent experience with the sales team. The pricing was competitive and the buying process was seamless. My reason for the 2 star rating? Ive been disappointed by the service department twice now. The first time I brought the truck in for an oil change and whoever did the work didnt clean the oil they spilled so I had a small oil spot on my garage floor. The second time I brought the truck in for a service 4 wheel drive warning. The problem was diagnosed and repaired under warranty. On the way home from the dealership the undertray came loose and nearly fell off the vehicle. Between Tacoma and my home in Puyallup 3 of the 4 bolts had come out. I called the service department and was told by the person I spoke to my experience would be mentioned to the service manager. He never suggested I bring the truck in to have it looked over. I noticed oil on the bottom of the vehicle as well, so I either have an oil leak or the tech that did the last pull change didnt clean up well. Needless to say I wont be back.
Just got a Denali XL and brought it in for its first service, great experience overall. Will be bringing it back for all future service needs.
Took my rv there did great needed wheel alainment they took care of it great job
Had a appointment and still waited an hour before they took my car in.I was not happy waiting with a appointment but glad that they are able to have us come in and help us.After they took my car in it was about 15-29 mins to recalibrate and get me back on the road.No one was rude about distance even though I was respecting the COVID situation.Don’t go expecting full service at this time but you can depend on a good job.
I was very satisfied with the work done! I was only scheduled to have a dashboard light checked, but Buick went ahead and changed the filters. Thank You
We were going on vacation and had a warning light come on then seemed to clear we were able to get in the next day. Our service advisor Charles white was great to deal with and explained that it was a bogus alarm from on star and that everything else checked out good. This made our trip to Utah worry free. I will continue to have our Verano serviced by Gilchrist but will never by another GM product due to the clear coat failure on a garage kept car with 60,000 miles on it and I had paid the Gilchrist dealership and extra $1300.00 when we purchased it new for a clear coat protector. Obviously it didnt work.
Very happy with service and staff at Gilchrist. Once in a while it is extremely busy and the wait might be a tad longer, but 90% of the time, they complete work in the time frame estimated, or even sooner. Today the work was done 1 hour early. They are also good about telling you what might need work soon, and estimating the cost for your next trip in.
The salesperson was helpful and answered our questions. The process was horribly slow, but I understood since they were busy. My low rating is based on two things that severely soured me towards this dealership:1) Some add-on paint protection package was added without asking us or even informing us. Admittedly I should have reviewed the initial price sheet more closely, but they should have asked. I didnt discover this until during signing. When I protested and said I didnt want it, the guy said but you already agreed to it. My spouse made me let it go.2) The salesperson handed us a credit application. I pointed out we were paying cash so didnt want a credit pull. He said the same form was used collecting the info needed for money laundering checks. I believe he may have lied and told me they were required to run our credit anyway as part of those money laundering checks, but I cant remember for certain. Either way, they ran our credit, even though I told them I didnt want them to, as I discovered when he shared our credit score.
Mostly good. The appointment was on time and finished in a timely manner. My only complaint is that the technician never noticed that my check coolant warning was on.
It was my first oil change service on my new truck. It was painless and easy while I worked remote from the waiting room and wifi.
MY WIFE AND I ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE CARE GIVEN TO US AT GILCHRIST ON OUR 2017 BUICK.
Friendly people, good service. Got a Chevy Equinox from them, we take it and another car here to get them serviced.
I stopped in to look at a used Jeep today. Spoke with a gentleman named Keven M. Although we didnt make a deal, I truly appreciated his no BS, no games, straight shooter sales approach. I wish we could have made a deal as I would have been happy buying from him. I wish all salesman were like him. I am so tired of the runaround. Keep up the good work Keven!
I was disappointed in this last service visit to Gilchrist Chevrolet. The first day they had my car I received a call saying they needed to special order a part and it would take 3 days to receive it. They asked if they could keep my car for the three days. I agreed and paid for the part in advance.I never heard from them after that. One week later I called to ask if the part had been received. They replied in an astonished tone that the work was completed and the car was ready for pick-up with no other details offered. When I picked up the car, I was able to read what work was completed. Unfortunately, when I got in my car to drive away I discovered that a dash light indicating that the airbag requires service and also noted that the radio is locked. It apparently didnt occur to anyone to ask me if I wanted those details dealt with while they had my car in the shop. Neither problem existed when the car was dropped off.
Im grateful for the service I received. I was able to have my car fixed in a timely manner.
After nearly a week for an appointment I came in for a pretty big repair and was quoted an exorbitant price. Found a smaller shop who offered to do the work for less than a third the cost.If you are looking for repairs out of warranty save the headache and your wallet by going somewhere else.I will say however the customer service staff were very helpful, understanding and accommodating.
Was told I didnt need an appointment for an oil change. Once I arrived I discovered that was not correct. The team found time to squeeze me in and completed the oil change in reasonable time. I am sure it would have been quick and easier to have had an appointment, but am pleased with the service at Gilchrist.
The service was great, very customer services question where answer very clearly to understand, all the employees where very professional yes I will go again
Ibraheem “Abe” Al Masslawi was awesome to work with. Very knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy. Thank you Abe!
Acted as if i was ignorant to my vehicles issues to try and up sale the cost of repair. Very dishearten to the scam. Wish we had honest people to service our needs properly at a fair price.
I got my oil changed at Jiffy Lube who made a huge mistake of overfilling my engine. Luckily there was no damage, however Chuck at Gilchrist took very good care of me and my truck by making sure I got my oil changed to the correct level and checked for any issues on my truck. I will be coming to Gilchrist every time for an oil change. Chuck is super professional and does his job the right way.
Abraham was such a help he helped me recover a refund on my old truck from the other dealership and now I got used that letter of odometer disclosure title extension statement to get a refund for my tabs I purchased too early what a wonderful savings thats $3,000 over $3,000
I have never been treated so kindly. Attendants where very helpful, courteous and accommodating I highly recommend this Chevrolet dealership.
My service experience was excellent. I took my car in for a LOF...I made appointment online to save time. Charles W got me checked in right away. As I was leaving Charles offered to call me when my car was ready...Less than an hr. I received his call. Thanks Gilchrist
Service writer mike was very professional. verified in-warranty coverage and greeted us upon return to pick up vehicle
The service dept was fast, friendly and got it done!
Simply put, they couldnt have cared less! Sales guy (Tom) was professional but indifferent. Finance manager was rude and dismissive. One positive, they gave me what I expected for my trade without hassle. But every other aspect was complete indifference. It wouldnt bother me so much had this been a $20K purchase. But this was a $68K purchase of a top-of-the-line Denali. I expected a better experience! Example 1) No mention of lifetime oil changes or even how the program works until finance manager brought it up during the hard sell on the useless, overpriced extended warranty. Example 2) At the end of the transaction, Sales guy insisted I press the On-star button for whatever reason (still not sure why other than he said they get graded on that) and as soon as the call connected, he just walked away... No good bye, thank you or enjoy your new ride. The only saving grace for this dealership is they were no different than what experienced from other dealerships in the area (including, Titus Will Chevrolet in Olympia and Haselwood Chevrolet in Bremerton.) The best experience for me, was removing the Gilchrist license plate frames and temp placards when I got home. The dinosaur car dealership experience/paradigm is in much need of change! A robot and website would have been better. I would not recommend Gilchrist Chevrolet Buick GMC in Tacoma!
Gilchrist is a awesome dealer and service dept.I would highly recommend
Thanks to Sam and Will exceptional customer service and got me into exactly what I wanted and got me a better rate thanks guys!
Excellent service very fair price. Got me in the next day for a standard vehicle service finished on time and communicated well.
Very friendly and willing to make sure you are happy with your purchase. Mike was a rock star!! Thomas was awesome too!
I came very well prepared with lots of info about the truck I wanted as well as info about the car buying process. Working with the guys at Gilchrist, they respected that I was prepared and knew what I was talking about, and they didnt give me any runaround or hassle. It was a really good, positive experience negotiating with them, I would gladly buy another vehicle from Gilchrist
They were quick and polite for the most part. Had to pay $200 for a software that should have been in the vehicle to begin with but thats the things are now days. I would go back to them in the future if needed.
Took my car in to have the radio replaced because it was constantly changing stations and presets on its own. Radio still doesnt work and has all the same issues as before. Plus they put a huge scratch on the front passenger side by the tire and got no explanation as to what happened to my car. Terrible service
My husband bought a Prius here today and I was really impressed by what he told me about the customer service here. A+ and 5 ⭐ from me! Thank you for making his car buying experience pleasant and not stressful!
Jeff as usual was excellent, car was sturdy and the price was right. Thanks again Jeff and the Gilchrist team!
The salesman and the sales manager went way above the expected to find me the right car. I was very impressed with the follow up calls to keep me informed on getting the car from another dealer. The only reason they aren’t getting a higher star rating is because no manager of any kind has called me to thank me for buying it. There is not a relationship build attempt. If you are looking for a dealership that seems to like the one sale and done approach they are great. I am looking for a dealership where I can buy all my future cars from and they just have not earned it.
Dominicks a great person fun guy good what he does
Wouldnt buy a car or truck any place else! Truly a good car shopping experience from start to finish.
I spent over $2000 to have my brake lights repaired and to have a service engine light issue only for them to not fix the issue. I just noticed tonight that my brake lights are still coming back on and that the dealership did not repair it correctly.
Our salesman Ibraheem was excellent! No pressure at all. We told him what we were looking for, down to the color, and he showed us the only one he had. He did not try to talk us into a different vehicle. He gave us a great price on the car. I called with some questions and he took the time to get the answers back to me.The man in the finance department was very helpful as well. It was an overall good experience.
HorribleLook for anyway to be able to charge me for their services.I didnt even object to anything. I just knew I would never suggest that dealership to anyone. Ive sold cars for 5 years in the past and also active in the community and well known.
My only complaint with this appointment was that I scheduled weeks prior for an oil change and for recall work on my Volt. When I checked in for appt I was told that they only have one person who works on Volts and that he wasnt in today so my recall work could not be done that day. I now have to go back, pay another bridge toll and sit around and wait.......again. My appt was in the afternoon. They should have phoned and given me the option to reschedule.
Great service! No hassles and the car is ready on time or before.
Costs $1609.00 to get Chevy repaired, got home and its still broken, all dashboard lights came on and power shut off in the middle of Sheridan Ave. Good thing I wasnt on the freeway. I should get my money back or have it repaired correctly by Gilchrist.
Gave estimate said it would take 5 days, 9 days later I had to call to find out status. Two more calls before Im told my car is in line to be worked on but not until day 15. No communication no timely call backs just plain bad service
Kristy was super helpful and accommodating!! She went above and beyond as far as Im concerned and I will definitely go back for any of my future service needs.
Service department was pretty shadyKept wanting to sale me on things that werent wrong with my engineDidnt even fix the problem on car
What an incredible experience! Ibraheem was so helpful, personable, and knowledgeable! Our conversations made us feel like we had known him forever! The biggest thing for my wife and I was he made sure that we got the perfect vehicle for our family of 5 and not just show us the most expensive car for his personal profit. He was always checking on our kids and always asking if they needed anything! Thank you so much!
Christine was great, I got the 90k service done on my 2014 Sierra the only thing I noticed was both my front fenders had some black stuff on them. I think the fender cover had grease on them.
Friendly, courteous, and thorough service. I appreciated my customer care and overall experience.
Gilchrist is a great dealership, one of my best car buying experiences Ive ever had, Tom was very professional and informative, and made everything clear. Thank you for the fast and great experience
Needed a simple oil change since I just moved to the state and didn’t have any tools. The technician replaced the drain plug bolt and charged us for that before calling and verifying that we wanted the service. Once I received the bolt back from the dealership, they claimed that it was damaged with a impact wrench or some sort and stripped, however I do the oil changes on my vehicles and don’t have impact tools and use a GM wrench to open the drain, ergo I did NOT damage the drain plug.
Very quick service. Appointments highly recommended!
Fantastic Fleet experience with Lloyd. Would recommend for any corporate purchase.
I am pleased to return to Gilchrist Chevrolet for routine service. The service department is run very efficiently and the waiting area is comfortable. I appreciate that full covid precautions were followed by workers and customers.
The service department is second to none. The crew took care of my truck like it was their own.
My car broke down on a road trip from Los Angeles. Every person I came into contact with was absolutely amazing and played a huge part in getting me back home. Starting with Shade who called the service dept for me first thing Monday on his day off! Stephanie, Sam and especially my service advisor Mike. I cant thank you so enough. Please go see Gilchrist Chevrolet. If I lived there they would be my dealer for sure. Thank you!
I went to Gilchrist Chevrolet to test drive the Bolt EV. I worked with Shade ( who was fabulous to work with). I had to make an appointment and when I called the number, they set up appointment for that moment. I got to test drive the car. I loved it so much, we ended up leaving the dealership with the car. Everyone was so pleasant to work with. And it didnt take all day to get through the buying process. Just in there about 2 hours, which is a record as far as I am concerned. I highly recommend Gilchrist Chevrolet
I have been going to Gilchrist Chevrolet, since 2019. They are always been professional and courteous. I would recommend them to everyone!
Ut was a fun experience at Gilchrist! All the people were very friendly and helpful! No pressure what so ever and they offered a great deal.
We had recently purchased a certified preowned car and had a good experience while purchasing it. No pressure and they were knowledgeable and helpful. We noticed some unusual noise coming from the right front tire area so I made an appointment and they got me in the next day. They identified the problem and replaced the wheel hub bearing and decided to replace both front breaks which was nice of them. They also did a tire alignment and I was charged No Fee and was grateful they stood behind their commitment.
The only place I will ever buya vehicle from! Stellar service and most of all... honest and caring people!
Would love to give this place zero stars but I cant. I purchased an 06 chrysler 300c with 104k miles on it finished the paperwork on 5/10/21 at 5pm drove it home and it broke down on on 5/11/21 at 3 pm. I had the car less then 24 hrs so I called the dealer (gilchrist) and they told me sorry about your luck as is, I understand as is but give me a break Im not trying to return it I just wanted it fixed I ended up paying 10k for a paperweight sitting in my driveway. Nice buisness skills. Please dont buy from this company there snakes
Very Friendly and prompt service.
Only placed to buy and service your vehicle. Fun and friendly staff
In and out on time - all work completed satisfactorily. everyone was pleasant and professional.
Quick, fast, easy, friendly, and the employees were very courteous.
Why do all car dealerships have to be so slimey all the time!! Told them didnt want the gap coverage which is just scam in the first place but whatever. Than they snuck it in at end of paper work anyway even though very clearly told them didnt want and signed page saying so in the beginning of all the papers that were signed. It really is gross how car dealerships behave! I would try to go somewhere else if u can there are better dealerships out there!! Ones that dont sneak $1000 to your total and try and hide how much things are going to cost you total.
