Maaco did an amazing job on my car! People couldnt believe it was a Maacos work! I love it

Okay, there’s so much to unpack with just one review.11/20202 I went in for an estimate. The estimate was costly so I waited a few months to get my money together. Good customer service during the estimate. Funny, friendly, very observant.6/2021 I go to get my car painted and hood repaired. The estimate from 11/2020 was still valid so no cost difference- Great!The following Monday I drop off the car. The car took a few days longer than expected so I got my car Friday. The guy on the phone had the worst attitude and it was the guy who was so friendly on 11/2020. Wanted me to apologize to him!!!!The car was not finished even thought they called it finished. The bumper needs more work, they left my car dirty on the outside, polished one headlight but not the other, didn’t fix door jam like promised, and to top it off, THEY STOLE CAR PARTS OUT MY CAR. So I had my own brackets for the bumper so they can use to fix the bumper. Brackets gone but bumper isn’t fixed.When asked about the missing parts they said they don’t remember who worked on my car and didn’t acknowledge my missing things.Moral of the story - be aware of shady business practice, stay informative on the process by following up with them, decent paint jobs. But I’m never using them again. Customer service is big with me and they can use some improvements.

$599 Paint job that once they tack on the extras that you need its not such a bargain. The $599 does not include the sealant that you HAVE to have or you cant get the car painted. With all the needed things needed in order to get it painted it added up to over $1300 and still wasnt finished we walked. Will go some place else that has a total price for painting. I understand body work costing but all the add ons that a must have. Wheres the bargain?

Sloppy employees act like they dont take pride in their work. They were supposed to open at 8am but showed up for work late so I had to wait longer for them to open. Forget about making an online appointment. They dont get or check for appointments just first come first serve. What ever the manager was doing on the computer was more important than Hi! How can I help you? Didnt even make eye contact with me. This it the second MAACO I talked to in a month and they just confirmed they will not be painting my vehicle.

Brought it in for some minor front end repairs. Excellent job. Couldnt tell it had been repaired.

I paid $3500 in November 28 2018 for a paint job. Its July 12 2021 and Im still waiting for a painted 63 grand prix. I had to return for warranty work because after a few months the car started to blister and bubble. So I had to wait a month after calling maaco about the blistering issue to get them to allow me to return the car to the shop because they said they were busy. I dropped car off over a year ago. When I call to ask for Ian or the owner the guy at the front desk always tells me theyre busy and they will call me back but I never hear anything back. DONT SHOP HERE

I have been taking my cars to Maaco in Tacoma for many years and have ALWAYS been delighted with the repairs and painting each time. I can count on their pricing to be fair and the work to be beyond my expectations. The staff is kind and respectful and willing to take the time to discuss my options. I dropped my 86 c20 of they told me 2 weeks . This truck means a lot to me . Now I’m told to pick it up mid week. Where past 2 weeks, I know to do a good job it takes time . Quality over quantity is something I believed in forever. I can’t wait to see my truck.

They did two jobs for me in three weeks. The first job was a bunch of body work on my 20 year old minivan which included a complete repaint. They did an amazing job for the money and the work was done when promised.While that van was being worked on, my son had a fender bender. The fixed that too. The price was fair, the paint was matched well.I have no complaints and feel confident recommending the Tacoma Macco location to anyone.

Well first I don’t want to say hate cause its a harsh word but this place I was not happy customer they stole stuff in my car and there paint job I wasn’t happy with they didn’t do a very good job I really thought my car would look at least better but no I wouldn’t go back to that place. I wouldn’t think they would steal out of my car. Not a happy customer i really thought they would do a job but no when I took my car home everyone said wow they didn’t do a good job it’s sad that other people’s see how there work is like. Yes the body work was good but the paint no good at all

I was referred to Tacoma Maaco for body repair work. It’s now been 2 1/2 weeks and I haven’t received my car back. For 1 entire week my car sat in the lot and nothing was done. I keep calling everyday and I get a constant put on hold or they hang up on me. I eventually got an answer on when my car will be done and they said another 2 weeks. I would like something to be done with this.Update with getting my car. They have completely over sprayed all over my fenders and doors of what needed to be repainted. They over-sprayed on my hood. I had to buy a brand new battery because they killed my other one. I have parts missing from my seatbelts and door handles on the inside. I now have to go another body shop to get my car repainted from there blow and go job.

You get what you pay for. They can do less expensive to top dollar

I asked for them to repaint the van exactly how it was. They continually missed deadlines, changed the design and did whatever they wanted on it.The Van is full of defects. It wasn’t re assembled properly, had overspray on all the trim pieces, windows ect. There is BIG defects in the paint. Worst one is a 3” paint drip. Hair, big dust bunnies ect. Dry spray on the front of the high top.If you don’t care about quality, customer service, punctuality, and want the shop to do whatever they fee like to your car rather then what you’re paying them for them by all means go here. (Quoted $2000) jan 18th 2021.Dropped off my car and asked for body work such as Dings and Dints removed i asked for the best paint option (premium paint $1499) to be put on and have all my trim fixed as well, i was given the option to paint them same color as the car for same price that i was quoted or mask them off with different color such as factory look, however they would accomplish that?, for $300 extra. That being said i agree to paint all trim same color as my car was being painted which is nighthawk black pearl as well as paint my cowl (The plastic piece were windshield wipers are) same color also. 1 week later i called on Friday to see how cars doing, was told its ready for pickup, went to go look at the car and the paint looked okay but sad part was no body work was done so it just got painted over and saw a new scratch and other problematic areas, it wasnt worth 2k. So the manager saw what i saw and said he will fix the issues a possible repaint. I agreed. Next week later i call on Thursday jan 28th 2021 to check on the process of my car, was told by the manager its in the sanding and bondo process, i requested to stop by and take a look at it and saw the car being sanded and bondo i was happy to see the work i asked for being done and i recorded this process. Next day friday 29th 2021, i get a phone call from the manager my car is done so i go look and im unhappy again😐... The paint on the body of my car was nice because body work was done this round, BUT😬 All the trim was painted over again which already had layers of paint from first paint job (now trim looks cakey) also 1 trim on top of the car was NOT painted and the other WAS painted? The cowl (plastic piece were windshield is) was all kinds of messed up chipping paint, sanding swirls yeah... Forgot to mention my windshield was brand new (put new windshield on before paint job to insure no mess up on new paint job from installation process) so that being said i had some over spray of primer or something like that nature on my new glass😐 manager and his boss come out and tells me sorry but paint on trim is not suggested i get mad told them to fix the trim that was not painted and pointed out the cowl being all chipped up plus i add theres Dust all over the painted car and inside my car?.. 😖looked like a $599 job to me at this point cause iv been threw heck. So the manager said ill fix it, they keep my car for the rest of that friday to fix the problem areas and to pick it up at 4pm. So i come back at 4pm and the trim that was NOT painted was fixed and painted, BUT 😒 the cowl (plastic piece were windshield wipers is) was kinda fixed lol? It was retouched up but still had sanded swirls just ugly😞 but they did blow all the dust outta my car (mind you my car is all black leather) so it looked like a dust factory inside my car before they blew it out. The paint on the body of my car looked nice! there was no sun so i didnt see full effect but because body work was done it made the paint go on smooth (Some orange peel is on paint but not to bad), So i pay the full $2000 cause i was done fighting and going threw stress cause it was one thing over another, i leave take my car home and of course i notice on my passenger side skirt theres some smudge of some sort?😳 so ill be having that fixed, and the cowl is still messed up😒 plus some scratches on 1 piece of my car that can be wet sanded/buffed/polished in 90 days so more money to spend. Other then all that i like the paint on the body of the car looks good and body work i asked was done at some point in time 😂. Id say through all that trouble too get a decent paint job for 2k? You tell me 😶Thanx for reading. Everyones experience will be different so my review maybe Irrelevant, if you experience what i went through just keep calm and try on. 👍

Great Prices and they did a great paint job the only issue they leave my vehicle carpets floor dirty inside and I always keep my car super clean at all times.

Its been over a month since I sent an email when the owner responded to this email. Still no reply...Im not happy with this experience at all. What was supposed to be a 1 week job ended up taking 3 weeks. They missed a pretty good size spot at the end of 2 weeks so then it took a 3rd week. No discount was offered which I can understand because theres a sign that says, completion date is not guaranteed. But 3 weeks instead of 1 week can be a HUGE inconvenience for someone.They also dinged up my car and used touch up paint and clear coat instead of telling me and offering to fix it properly. As if I wasnt going to notice it? Also left a small amount of metallic paint dust on the inside of my car which scratched my interior when I went to wipe it.Im still waiting on a callback from the corporate office that was supposed to take only 3 days and now has been 10.....The end result of the work was beautiful but everything else makes this a 1 star experience.

Ian was awesome and my Mustang looks amazing, I highly recommend choosing Maaco, I called many shops around the area and Maaco were the most affordable and professional. One thing that I would have liked is to be kept in the loop a bit more about whats going on with the car but all in all its not deal a breaker and you will be happy with the end result.

Maaco repainted my 97 ram and it looks amazing, good price, quality work and they made the deadline that they said it would be done. I would definitely recommend.

This is the most unprofessional paint shop I have ever had to deal with. When an employee says, “well this is Macco, what do you expect”. Just blew my mind. I paid for a paint job and only got more problems from them. I feel bad for anyone dealing with this company.

Excellent service and quality work but took longer than expected.

So I contracted them to repair and paint my 91k-5 . I repeat don’t I mean do not take ur Vehicle here to be painted or repaired. You read the reviews everyone of the reviews talk about poor craftsmanship not getting the vehicle done on time not getting them to repair the damages that they do that is the same instance in my case. Paint is peeling and separating from the body of the truck around all my tail lights Around my door jams round the edges by the windows. I paid extra to have my jams painted.I had a lot of body repairs they chose to weld the holes. I’m doing so there is weld splatter all over my rear window . there’s overspray over all my trim they refuse to fix it. There office manager is completely unprofessional I’m going to have to get an attorney to get this handled. I would not take your vehicle there on top of the fact that they took an extra month over the allotted two weeks they told me it would take. They do very shoddy and unprofessional work I would definitely second-guess taking your vehicle to this establishment office manager is very unprofessional he has no pride in his craftsmanship thinks because it is a Macco that they can just do shotty work on a persons vehicle why there’s a car sitting there from Titusville Chevrolet and you know they did not do that type of service upon that person’s vehicle for that company’s vehicle. I would not take your vehicle here unless you want to deal with his headaches every one of these reviews list almost the same exact problems with this company stay away from them. Another customer seen all this happen in the parking lot choose not to have them work on his car .

Had my back bumper fixed. Took about 2 weeks (Because it was a holiday). So Far it still look great.

Id give less stars if I could.Quoted me one price and then charged me another and Ian would not give my vehicle back until I paid the revised unagreed to price. AND, it took them 4 more days than I was told for them to get my car done.I asked to talk to the owner and Ian(front desk guy) tells me his dad is the owner and he is on vacation. To Ians dad- your kid is not prepared to run your business and by judging by some reviews on here, you should vacation less and manage your son or better yet - dont let him deal with people or estimating

I have been with them for about five years and they have a different from other Maaco I first had services.They are friendly, the reception representative will always great you with respect and dignity. Everyone at this shop is knowledgeable and courteous. I brought in an old project car that had its original paint from the 70’s. The car was really important to my husband, because it was his grandfather’s car. The guys went the extra mile and did an outstanding job. He says it looks just like it did when he was a child riding with his grandpa!

Left my Ford Truck there in November of 2020 was quoted $500 to paint the roof come January 20212 months later a new boss came over and said he needs a $1000 to even start on it when I said I was quoted at $400 they told me there’s nothing they can do about it so to sum it all up they left my truck there for 2 months and then tried to rise the price very unprofessional will not recommend anyone to ever go here

Took my sons 88 Jeep Cherokee there to get it painted Sept 2013, and it turned out so good! It took longer than the original 2 day estimation because apparently the first coat of paint they put on didnt turn out to their satisfaction, but they just kept it for 2 more days & painted another coat which turned out beautiful. So thankful they really cared about the quality of the end result. Same price as originally quoted. Pleasant experience with the staff as well. Highly recommended.

I rated very good because there is no middle ground and I am more happy than not. So, Ill be honest and admit there were a few things that were lacking. Customer service, for one. The poor young kid at the front needs to take a class on how to talk to customers both on the phone and off, either that or they should hire someone who is capable of at least pretending to be friendly. Second, they lost my key. Im serious. No idea where it went, but I guess Ill be happy that it was a spare spare (intentional double there) and if my vehicle ever goes missing I know where the thief works. But in reality, overall Im rather pleased. My vehicle looks awesome. For what my insurance gave me for repair due to a single collision, Maaco repaired and repainted my entire vehicle. Is it absolutely perfect and show stopping quality? No, there are a couple of miniscule blemishes I noticed upon close inspection. But it is pretty dang awesome for the money and Im a happy camper.

One word to describe, TERRIBLEDusts all over surface of the part I brought in to paint. It is brand new OEM part, so they dont have much to do except to paint.Why there are lot of dust on the finish? They dont care about their customers or they dont have what they claimed to be professional.I was asked to pay more to get dusts off, WHAT?If you are thinking about contacting them for your car, then you should find somewhere else or you will regret it.

Decent work, but be careful to take any valuables out of your car, even if theyre hidden, because their lot is not secure. Lost about $15 worth of stuff and they did nothing.

Be careful of this shop and their unethical practices! I bumped into a persons car in a parking lot and they took it to Maaco for an estimate. I paid for the damage to the car after they estimated what it would cost to repair the damage. To my surprise, I later found out the whole car was painted! The estimate seemed high to me, so I was suspicious as to how it got painted. It looked like they inflated the estimate to squeeze in a whole car paint job. The person who owned the car said he was talked into painting his whole car and told me he wished he wouldnt have done it because it was a terrible paint job and the paint was flaking off. I got copies of the estimate and repair order and the numbers didnt add up.I talked to a Manager named Phil. They basically convinced the kid whos car it was to paint the whole car and that he could use the money I paid to apply it to a paint job and he would only have to pay a little more to get it done. When I questioned the Manager Phil on this, he said what the customer did was unethical, but they had nothing to do with that. When I told him they encouraged the customer to do what he described as unethical on the part of the customer...he continued to deflect and say it is between me and the person whos car I hit. He admitted they do this all the time...basically admitting they encourage people to do what he described as unethical behavior. He said he sees people get a pretty sweet deal on getting their cars painted by re-allocating the money and spending a little more of their own...all the while agreeing that the behavior is unethical...but only on the part of the customer.Phil was rude on the phone, didnt listen and interrupts constantly. He said theyd do it again because its not on them. Tried to intimidate me with mentioning he has lawyers that work for him.

Had my jeep painted a completely different color. What an amazing turn out. Better than what I was expecting.

My car went in for new paint because the clear coat was coming off. It is a 2002 Celica. When I picked it up I was so impressed. My car looked brand new!!! All of my friends that have seen it could not believe how beautiful it was. Thank you Maaco. I feel like I am driving a new car again.

My cars licence plate was put on upside down. And i was having body work done on the outside. Why was the radio/heater console replaced? What happened? They dont know......

Sent Fender flares into be painted on a Tuesday and was told they would be done that Friday or Monday. Three weeks later the pathetic excuse for a manager Phil said they still were not done and maybe next week. I inquired how is that okay you’ve told me the same thing four times. His quote response was “you know f$”! It come pick them up and hung up on me.

Maaco is a great place for car repairs at reasonable rates. The people who work here are honest, knowledgeable and helpful.

Had my scratches and dents fixed and the whole car painted a few months ago. They did a fantastic job. Love it. I had great customer service also. Everything was explained. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

For a 1200.00 paint job it looks great. Only 2 spots that were iffy...one was where the taper taped on the car...so white showed...and the other where someone bumped into it when paint was wet...a smudge. But other than that it looks amazing. Also when my car was in the lot someone unhooked my gas hose and stole all the gas. And messed up my locking gas cover...which I will have to get fixed. But not Maacos fault..that can happen anywhere these days. 4 stars just because of the 2 spots....but very happy with the paint job...👍 this is my 4th paint job at Maaco..

Second time using Maaco. They buffed, filled, matched, and painted both times and you cant even tell a blemish was ever there. Will always go back to them if I ever need to.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the staff at the Maaco for giving my car the Midas touch. Its a 2013 Rio and long story short, I got in an accident November 2014 and under false info I was told after switching insurance that the old insurance wouldnt help me. I went over a year with no repairs and went to Maaco and they insured that the company should still help as long as I made a claim with them. Myself & Maaco talked to the old insurance Co. and everything was settled. Maaco set me up with Enterprise for a rental and they took my car in. With all their hard work and effort, they made it look like it was fresh off the assembly line. Thank you guys, in a few months itll be 3 years having my car but you guys made it feel like its back at day one.

You get what you pay for. I expected much better work even at a reduced price. Im not going back and dont recommend this place if you want really good results.

Had no problems they fixed the front end still trying to get the rest done well my Oakleys disappeared and range targets also so make sure you take your sunglasses out and guess anything else worth something

I have a 1964 Buick Riviera that I took to Maaco after getting three estimates to paint her. Not much body work was needed, but all three places wanted between $20,000-$30,000. I got her painted at Maaco for about $6,000 and Im very satisfied.

Took my truck in, they quoted me a reasonable price for paint & repair. They completed the project on time and the workmanship is outstanding! The Staff made the hold experience pleasant and stressless. Will have them do more work, this time on my Taurus. Had paint peeling off of the hood of my car, got a whole new paint job done and it feels like I have a new car. Was told it was going to take a week and got a call two days later saying my car was ready. The customer service is amazing and they did an amazing job!

Best customer service I ever had. My car was undriveable and cost more to repair then the car is worth. .. They were up front and honest about what I should do and that involved them not making any money off me. They even stored my car for free [I dont think they will do that for everyone] this is the first place in the auto repair industries that is not greedy and money hungry. I was told my car would look nice with a 1300.00 dollars paint job, within 3 months the paint was already peeling off on the wheel wells and underneath. I called the manager he said bring it and will take care of and it will be done an one hour I gave one and a half hours and have done nothing to it yet after 2 hours I walked into the lot I saw an older guy touching up my car with brush and didnt finished since I had to go to work now looks like I have to paint the whole bottom of car and it hasnt even been one year yet since they painted itThe manager said he would touch it up again but I have to leave it there at least 2 week days. Since make my leaving with this car I would loos 600 dollars. And he wont do it on a weekend.one star is to much I would not recommend it to anyone

Brought my car in July 1st for a estimate was told to bring it back 8th of July that I could save $300 if I removed fenders, front bumper and hood. When I brought my car in on the 8th I was told they were too busy for me to drop off my vehicle this is after I removed the requested parts and was told to bring it back in a week, I ask can you put it on the schedule .I was told no just bring it in. I walked away thinking to myself when hell freezes over I will maybe bring it back . Took my business elsewhere.

Talked to Malcolm about some paint repair and he was EXTREMELY HELPFUL. He told me my clear coat is faded so much that it requires repainting half the car, the roof and another door. He also told me the specific tri coat paint is very hard to find and expensive, so I have made the decision to repaint the car black instead. He gave me an estimate and discount to repaint the car. Claimed they could not shoot base coat without doing sealer on the car. Basically trying to force an upsell.Estimator stated that their body guy doesnt do a very good job. So if I wanted a semi decent job their place wasnt good to use. He also said they are basically the McDonalds of autobody and paint.Great way to sell your business, and envoke confidence in potential customers. Avoid this Maaco at all costs.

Folks,, in spite of the poor rep many MAACO shops have you can trust Malcom and the crew at this shop located at 3502 So. Pine St - Tacoma, WA. They did an absolutely fantastic job fixing the door dings, removing old and cloudy (factory) clear coat and repainting my 00 Dodge Dakota. No,I cannot yet say the work will endure for many, many years but I am confident IF theres a problem these fellows will handle it as professionally as it need be. MAACO IS GREAAAT!! From the very first time I came there for a paint job they showed me great customer service..I have been back for their service a couple times because of an accident.. When dropping my car off they made sure to ask me if I had a ride back (which I did use enterprise) and they continuously called enterprise to make sure they were on their way.. They make their customers concerns first priority NOT the money.. They are always willing to accomadate the customers financial concerns as well..This is the best place by far to have ur car serviced because you will get outstanding car results and customer service. In another note, Ive even been by there because someone scratched my paint and maaco fixed it quickly with no cost.. They are so great I decided to pay them anyways for that 😁😁 So definently pick MAACO!!
