Transmission shop new ones review and use ones

I went into thier shop to have a transmission issue diagnosed and the took 45 min to drive it around and came back and said I needed a full rebuild and that my rear end was completely toast. Which I thought fun as they tried to upsell me a rear end and I little suspect seeing is how I drove the vehicle to them on a supposed done rear end . Shop around and use them as a last resort

Not a happy customer. Had a rebuild done by them about three years ago, but previous noise returned. Supposedly guaranteed for five years. I tried contacting them for two days multiple times a day and nobody answered the phone. Finally I got a call back and I explained my situation but was told that the ownership had changed and they would not honor the warranty. I met with them and they agreed to give me a break on labor. I dropped the car off with a very explicit description of the issue I was having. Finally, on the fourth day, they called to say they couldnt figure out what might be wrong and to come pick up the car. I took it to another shop in Kirkland and they instantly diagnosed the problem from my description, fixed it in one day and gave me a very reasonable price.

Back in 2015 or there abouts, my cars first gear went. I managed limped it home a couple miles, knowing it was a goner already so I knew I couldnt really hurt it. Once I decided to have it rebuilt, I called up this shop. They offered free towing with rebuild, so I had them pick it up. When I got I got it back, it was leakly badly. I happened to catch it before it blew up and immediately took it back. It didnt leak a drop before. After a second rebuild, it still leaked badly when they test drove it. They kept me informed by phone of the progress. They aid they never could find the source of the leak. Finally they decided it must be a cracked bell housing and replaced at their expense under warranty. So after doing that and doing a complete rebuild a third time to be sure everything was right, it no longer leaked. EXCELLENT service! Highly recommend! My particular cars transmission cost me about $1300 out the door at the time to have rebuilt, including the free tow to the shop.

I have taken my car here before and just like lat time they did a fabulous job. I spoke to the owner and he waited for me after hours to come get my car. His brother actually waited for me and jumped my car because the battery was dead. If you have any transmission problems I would call Affordable Transmissions first. Affordable rebuilt my transmission in my 2002 4x4 Ford Explorer. It was the same price as quoted, cheapest in town. I had issues 3 times. They took it in all 3 times no problem fixed the problem. Turned out my 4 wheel drive was causing all the issues which wasn’t there fault. They fixed all my issues and didn’t charge a dime. I recommend affordable 100%. They were inexpensive, courteous, and stood by their work. Made sure my trucks transmission worked properly.

Came to WA for vacation just last week, and my car began to jerk around. Unaware of what was wrong, I asked a friend if they know any mechanic shop. Was having problems with my 2000 Monte Carlo. Just happen to be driving by this shop thought I would stop in. After being to a number of other shops to find my problem and no shop could and it cost me almost $200. This shop took time to go through my car and find the problem for free. After I told the problem I shopped around and found out for the price to fix the problem on my car at other shops. I could get a rebuilt Transmission from Affordable Transmission. I was thinking I was going be with out my car for a week to 2 weeks. Nope these guys had my car back to me in like 3 three days. And the best part working on my car they noticed another problem I was having that other shops I paid money to should of pointed out but didnt. Again I called around and they price plus part was half the price of other shops I call. The customer service is great the lady at the front desk will take the time to go get a mechanic if she dont have a answer. And if she says she going call you back she will do that as soon as she has a answer for you. Glad to have found a real shop thats into helping people and not ripping people off to make a profit.

Will not recommend to anyone, the owners has changed so the service - really bed (rear deferential)... have to go and repair after them at different shop.

If I could review this shop as a 0 Stars I would. I replaced a transmission back in 2017. The mechanic Failed to tighten a bolt back into the firewall. I have tried numerous times to get into contact with the business in order to have this resolved. But unfortunately the business is under new ownership which according to the state business ownership doesnt change until 7/31/2019. I would not recommend this business to anybody who needs transmission work. They are not detailed and definitely do not care to resolve any issues for their Customers. I have since Filled a complaint with the BBB, Consumer affairs. Looking into other options as well.!!!

Many places I called for price quote and they dont give me the quote over the phone they always want me to tow in my car for the estimate and some give me very high prices. I found Affordable Transmissions on Craigslist, they quote me with unbelievable affordable price on my budget and had my car done in 3 days. I have had my car for 4 years now. Ive never really had any serious issues until March 2016. Long story short I needed my transmission fixed. The place I originally took it to gave me a quote that was over $4000 and about two weeks before it would be ready!!! My car sat a while as I looked around. My brother told me about Affordable Transmissions... I brought my car here and they quoted me almost $2300 dollars less then the last place! I thought I was a scam lol... I brought it in and had my car back in days! Running smoothly like I just drove it off the lot for the first time... Ever since then Ive brought my car and everyone elses car that I know here for any repairs needed! They dont give you the run around and they are quick and long lasting repairs and did I mention AFFORDABLE!! I am very pleased! I highly recommend Affordable Transmission!!

I went in with no torque. I couldnt climb any hills. They checked my codes, changed my TCC fuse. Sent me on my way, no charge. Van is climbing hills like a champ now. Honest mechanics rule! Made my day.

A one-star is me being generous they cut the shifter plastic part around my shifter and did not replace or fix it, they misplaced the Front plastic piece of my truck and they stoled a converter out of the inside of my truck. They had my truck for almost 3 weeks and then when my husband called on a Saturday at about 4 they told him if it wasnt done by Wednesday at the same time that he would give us a refund and he didnt honor his deal his name Cedro. Poor customer service poor business qualities the place is messy and not organized

I brought my rig here for a transmission rebuild at the suggestion of a friend and after reviewing high online reviews I figured I would give them a shot; being $1,100 cheaper than having it done at the dealer.When I picked up the rig the transmission pan drain plug wasnt tight and was leaking fluid; there was fluid all over the pan and seeping out from the inspection covers of the bellhousing. I cleaned that up first thing when I got home.Ive had to return twice in the last week since the transmission was rebuilt; for error codes indicating a problem with a torque converter solenoid. After having that part replaced I again found the drain plug leaking and more fluid on the bottom of the transmission along with the same error code coming back.I took it back to have the torque converter replaced; and when I picked up the rig I noticed someone hit the back bumper with something (left rubber/scrape marks on the paint); he denied any knowledge of this happening (theyre not responsible for theft or damage in their open lot). There were greasy/oil hand prints on the inside grab handle. Again the drain plug wasnt tight and was seeping fluid along with fluid on the bottom of the transmission. I took it home and tightened the plug and washed the underside of the transmission again; only to find a bolt that holds a bracket onto the side transmission was missing, leaving the bracket loose and hanging. No, I dont think I will be taking it back to them to replace the missing bolt; Ill do it myself so I know its done right.These guys may be able to rebuild a transmission but their execution and cleanliness is subpar. I can honestly say I dont know if they left anything else out or off of my rig, Im going to spend some time taking a hard look at everything to be sure they didnt miss or mess anything else up. Thank goodness for the 5 year warranty; If I was a betting man I think it will continue to be used more than it already has. On the bright side he never once balked at fixing the transmission when I told him about the error codes coming up.I regret not finding the extra funds to have had the dealer replace the transmission instead of using these guys; then I would have had assurance it would have been done right the first time.

I called them first thing in the morning explaining my problem. They recommended a towing service who showed up within the hour. The problem was easily resolved & I was driving out 5 minutes later. The whole ordeal cost me $60.

Thank you Affordable Transmissions for all your help ! I took a trip to Washington Last week and my transmission was acting super funny.. Its weird for me because I never experienced anything like it before. I couldnt even put the car in drive without it jerking alot .. I would let it rest for a bit and it would be fine .. But for my safety, so I wouldnt be stuck on the side of the road or something, a friend recommended Affordable Transmission in Tacoma.. I took my car there and the really nice man told me that my transmission was slipping.. he gave me an estimate of how much it would cost and we compared it with other places !! Let me just say WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY cheaper! He was able to get it done way quicker than other auto shops .. On my trip back home everything felt so brand new, it was a smooth and safe drive home ..
