J&L saved the day for me! Shifter bushings went out on my VW Beetle 2002. Stranded on the highway! Once I was able to get the car to J&L they diagnosed the issue, got the parts and repaired the vehicle immediately. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the area. Came by with one car I was about to buy, and they looked at it for ten minutes before calling me back and telling me not to buy the car, when I came in to pay them for looking at it they refused my money due to how little they had to do. They took me through the multiple things they found right away, and explained the issues before I left. Also, they warned me that the car’s fuel economy after recent updates had changed since I made a comment on why I was so interested in a TDI Passat. Overall great guys that I’ve decided I will be coming back to.

J&L has taken care of me and my family since we moved to the area 16 years ago. He has gone out of his way to make sure that his work was performed with the greatest of care and professionalism, and I have always felt I got more than I paid for.

John is incredibly fair and honest. My only gripe is I feel like I have to follow up with them for results, rather than them calling me to let me know things are ready, etc. But Ill still be going back whenever I need to.

My experience was excellent. Tim and John both were very helpful concerning my current repairs as well as how to avoid repairs on a vehicle in the future. They are trustworthy, honest, and helpful. John even discouraged some repairs and noted them as helpful, but not necessary, costing him quite a few hundred dollars. Most mechanics would have deemed them necessary and taken the money. This is a great place and one I will continue to use.

I have entrusted my cars and trucks to J & L for over 25 years. John has been like family, keeping many of our old clunkers on the road much longer than you would expect. My experience with J&L Automotive was extremely positive. The shop was recommended by a co-worker who stated that this was a shop run by someone honest that would provide good quality work on my vehicle. His word was true, as we received great service at a price that was more than fair. I also felt like my business was valued. J&L has earned my business!

So I had a squeaking noise coming from the rear of my car. So I took it to a chain shop to get the oil changed and inspect the noise. They told me I needed 2 new shocks AND 2 new tires. Total $1k. Something didnt feel right, so I took it to John with the quote the chain gave me. He immediately said they were about $300 high. He then put my car on the rack and showed me my tires. They were fine. Not even near the wear bar. He inspected my shocks and they were fine. The noise was because the cold weather made the rubber harder thus making noise when I go over bumps.My cost went from $1k to $600 to $0 because of John and his shop. He could have said I needed work and made a quick few hundred dollars but he didnt. He was honest and fair.Guess where Im taking my car, my wifes car, and my kids cars for the foreseeable future?You want an honest mechanic with good prices? Go see John at J & L.

These guys know what they are doing and will tell it to you straight. Ive had lots of work done here and they dont drag there feet or sell me work that does not need doing. If i ever have any issues with my vehicle i will be taking it here. They are not the cheapest mechanic out there but that is because they are doing it right. I also love the owners two dogs he keeps with him, they are well behaved and are friendly.

This is my second time there and these guys are just awesome. If you have a European car and dont want to pay dealership prices, but still want the best service, go to these guys. I recently had my BMW Z4 serviced there at less than half what the dealership wanted. They go above and beyond to make sure youre satisfied. HIGHLY recommend them over the dealership.

This is the best vehicle repair shop, we have been using them for years, since last century. This shop was the go to repair shop for all Gwinnett Police officers for their family and personal vehicles, it still is for military and veterans. They can always be trusted to be honest about your car or any car you might want to purchase. I personally have found them to be infallible. Youll regret going anywhere else. They have a convenient drop off policy where you can leave your vehicle the night before and usually it is ready by COB the next day or earlier.

My wife usually took our Yukon XL to a Chevy dealer for service and their prices are ridiculous and the service is not that good. Not even a greeting when you pull in. A good friend recommended J & L Automotive to us and we are so glad they did. They are not only very friendly, the prices are very reasonable and the service is first class. One day turn-a-round on our vehicle and a price much less than the dealers. Ill be recommending them to all my friends.

Weve had four cars serviced by J&L over the past five or more years. Im always appreciative of their depth of knowledge and ability to diagnose complex issues. I was in town visiting family and the car had been giving my a bit of trouble on the way down. My sister strongly encouraged me to take it to these folks who checked it out, let me know what was wrong (rotors) and said they could fix it for me or Id be fine to drive home. All for no charge. I ended up driving back home on them, but that level of honesty is awesome and Id gladly take my car here for service and encourage you to do the same.

The entire experience was good, I would recommend J&L without hesitation. We have been there twice and both times the diagnosis and repairs were done perfectly. On the first visit the problem was so small that no charge was made, what a pleasant surprise. The next visit was a more substantial repair at a reasonable price.

Had a rattling under my car and I was sure it was something expensive and was fearing the worst. With no appointment went up there and in less than twenty minutes, they lifted my car and showed me that it was only heat shield that had gotten loose. He used a drill to bolt it back to the car and didn’t charge me a dime. John was super extremely nice and attentive. He really cares about his customers and getting the best for them. The staff at J & L Auto were great. They were very honest. My husband has an older BMW that wouldnt start. I called to see if we could have it towed there and they said no problem and were able to look at it and give us an estimate fairly quickly. They did repairs to get it going and were reasonably priced. When we came to pick it up they even changed my taillight on the spot at no charge!

I was recently doing a search on the web when I came across J & L Automotive where I have been taking my vehicle for 12 years. I have had nothing but stellar service and have saved quite a bit by doing the recommended maintenance on my vehicle. I took my vehicle there after the dealership told me I needed a whole new transmission. John Buonamia the owner explained that the make of my vehicle (Chrysler) typically had some transmission issues. He researched somethings and told me to go back to the dealership with his list because they were covered under warranty and if I felt comfortable to come back and he would take care of the rest. HE DID! I did not need a new transmission and I am still driving the same vehicle! My Children and Grandchildren go there exclusively also. It is a pleasant place to go they even let you in their shop to show you things. I have never heard anything negative from my family or some ladies in my bridge club that are also customers and believe me I would have! Would not trust anybody else to work on my vehicle!!!!

Started looking for an alternative to the dealer when audi said I needed motor mounts at 55k miles. (Its a diesel so audi still does some work covered by the warranty).Knew they were a good shop when they have 2 adopted german Shepherds 💜They first served my vw when my ac line started leaking in my vehicle, it just needed to be blown out. Fantastic service!And now we take our audi here to have them do rear brakes because audi wanted $1500 for front and rear brakes. Only the rear needed replaced. They did it for 1/4 of what audi quoted.

I usually take my cars to the dealership, but thought I would try out this shop based on the reviews. They call themselves the dealership alternative. The brake light in wifes car would come on from time to time for few days, so she took it in for a diagnostics to determine what the issue may be. Instead of completing a full diagnostics by doing an ABS diagnostics, checking pads, rotors, etc., they just topped off the brake fluids with a high priced oil change and said all was fine. Additionally, they lost or broke 3 out of 4 wheel locks and damaged the wheel locks. I was really hoping this could be the go to shop for all my cars, but this place is no different from a typical repair shop that lacks integrity.

Weve been using J & L for 8 years now. I trust John and the guys completely with our vehicles. He has never tried to do anything unethical, and actually tells me if something can wait or if it needs immediate attention. His business has my highest recommendation.

J&L has earned a customer for life, simply by being honest. Its something you dont often find these days, especially in dealing with auto repairs. After being charged $280 to diagnose the issues, which I had already explained, I received an estimate from my local Infiniti car dealerships service department(located in Gwinnett), to the tune of $2650. Long story short, John and his crew fixed my car, in one morning, for less than the dealerships diagnostic fees! Look, I hope I never have to spend $2650 to fix my car, but if that day ever comes, Ive already decided that I will be paying J&L to do the work. If you are searching for an HONEST shop, please do yourself a favor and look no further. Thank you, John!

Honest repair shop that wont try to sell you repairs that you dont need. They even qualify repairs that you need as critical or you can get by with for a little longer if you need to spread out the expense. Nice guys all around with a nice shop!

I have to support what the others have wrote so far. Ive been a few times. Great service, honest. Went to a dealership with an oil leak and they told me I had to replace my oil pump. Went here and turns out it was just some leaks that costed me a few hundred instead of over a thousand per Honda. You can never know who you can trust these days, but I get a trusting vibe from these guys. I would definitely recommend them.

The inexpensive drive in places once told us we needed a bunch of work and John told us what they wanted to charge us for something that had already been done!!! How did he know? He looks up the cars history! He saved us a bunch of money!!!!ONLY take your car to John for an oil change!!!! We have learned from experience!!!

My only interaction was with the gentleman at the front desk, but he was polite and explained in detail what was wrong with my driver side door as well as what could be done about it. The estimate he gave me was right around what I paid. Next time my car needs service, Ill be taking it here.
