My wife and I went to this store last month to switch from another carrier. The entire time we were interacting with the male representative, we were constantly being asked if we wanted TV service. We mentioned multiple times that we are only interested in cellular service at this time due to being in contract with another TV provider. Still we were asked over and over, despite the no’s we gave. Yet, we chose to continue the transaction at this location and follow through with switching to AT&T. We were quoted one price and then when the bill was sent to us, we realized we were put on a business account. We did not ask to be put on a business account and no one asked us or informed us that we would be going on a business account. When calling the store to speak with the manager, we were constantly told he was “out” and he would return our call “as soon as possible” yet he never did. In my personal and professional opinion, the entire switch to AT&T has been a nightmare thus far and I highly would not recommend going to this location. We were assisted at another store that we had to drive almost an hour to get to, and they assisted us perfectly. Without badgering and harassing about TV service.

After 5 days of of dealing with AT&T customer who would not resolve issue, my local store employee Whitney Barnhill went above and beyond to resolve issue. She is a stellar employee who did what customer service refused to do. I hope to never again have to deal with customer service.

I came into this location for an upgrade on my phone and my daughters and was assisted by Joshua. The entire time he was working with me, he persisted to talk about himself and how he’s going to be rich one day etc… Didn’t really seem to care much about actually helping me. He also made my 11 year old daughter feel very uncomfortable by his remarks toward her. Saying stuff along the lines of “are you a cheerleader? You have good form” etc. Who would say that to an 11 year old child? At that point, I decide to leave and come back at a later time because I and my daughter were very uncomfortable. This store should carefully evaluate who they hire.

Ive been having alot, ALOT of trouble with the wifi & my bill. Waiting, WAITING for someone to call me back, since I gave them 5 stars.(the tv was such a nightmare we changed to Directv)
This AT&T store sadly does not reflect the company’s standards or how they are trained. I know because I worked for AT&T as a sales representative. I went into the store to buy a phone on a contract and was told my number could not be switched from pre-paid to post paid although it is with AT&T. I bought the phone pre-paid while serving in the military as a temporary solution because I wanted to avoid a contract. Not being able to port my number to post paid was shocking to me. The representative literally stared at me as if I was suppose to offer her a service instead of her telling me about the great deals at AT&T. I was ready to buy on post paid including accessories and possibly other offers. If they were mentioned, I would have made a purchase.She missed an opportunity for her own commission, for the store sales, and for the company. I will not go back to this store. I called customer care, and they informed me that my number can be ported from pre-paid to post paid. They said I had to start the migration process because they could not do it over the phone. They also gave me options to buy the phone and call them back or just go to another AT&T store to switch to post paid and have my number ported. I am only writing this review because the representative’s demeanor was not reflective of AT&T and the training they provide their representatives at all. Her first response when she discovered I am pre-paid was that the store does not sell pre-paid devices. I said okay I am looking to switch to post paid. Then she said my number could not be ported. Not only was I not helped, I left not knowing about any AT&T deals or options. I came looking to buy and wasn’t given the opportunity.
I was out of town so I stopped in this store to get an upgrade. The store manager was rude and had no customer service. The customer services agent that he decided to give me instead of dealing with me wa Ander. She was very friendly but she screwed up my account. She asked if she could change my plan because it would make it about 25 dollars cheaper. It ended up being me expensive and she added insurance to a phone that I did not request insurance on. I was also charged an upgrade fee that she did not tell me about after I had just paid 200 for the taxes and payoff on old device. I called to get the issue resolved and she said there was nothing she could do. I have has problems like these with over the phone reps in the past but not in store reps. Very disappointed
The store wasnt crowded they had three people working. Didnt stay to long even though I was in a hurry left my new note ultra 20 in the store. Went back and got it the rep had it ready for me. Thanks again for everything at&t keep up the good 👍 work

I had amazing service by a worker named Ander. She was very professional as well as helpful. She made this trip so much easier than in the past. This has been one of the best experiences I have had since being with AT&T. Our last store in Florida was horrible. This store was clean, well organized an gave a happy vibe when coming in.
Convenient location to pay my monthly bill
I have entered the store on multiple occasions for assistance. Every issue always proved to be simple fixes that I could have completed on my own. Despite that fact, the assistant manager Shawn was and is always pleasant. He and his team was willing to help me and willing to take the time to meet my needs, even if it took an hour. I really appreciate them all and enjoy every interaction that I encounter in the store. I have been a member for eighteen years and Shawn makes me feel like Im actually a valued customer. Cudos for such excellent customer service!!

I recently signed up for new service with AT&T (Sumter store). Think this was the best decision of my life. Shawn was exceptional with how he presented the merchandise. If it was not for his knowledge and patience I would not have left my current carrier who I have been with for over 15 years. Shawn Shawn for all you do.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THiS STORE!!!! We switched from Verizon Back in February on a Promotion that our IPhONE 11s would Be FREE.. We ported over for a credit of 300$ and turning in our Phones would be another credit of 300-400$. We have been paying on our phones only to find out NO Credits or Promotions were EVER credited to our Account. Brought this to the attention of our Sales Rep Cole..Nothing was done... George who is the Manager and OWNER of the STORE has been aware of this issue and Has Been putting it to The BLAME of his “LIASON” not Completing the Inquire HE opened.. I Have also Asked to speak with the Regional DIRECTOR “KIM” who apparently DOESNT have any other information but a Name.. NOT Even a email to file a complaint.. ONLY after SEVERAL Calls to customer Care, having SEVERAL Open Cases and Having To do my own Investigating We Find Out that GEORGe and His STaFF COMMITED FRaUD! Not only did he Turn in Our Phones Under his Company “Prime PILOT A AT&T Authorized Dealer” he did NOT put that the phones were on a Promotion AND he DAMAGED the Phones... The representative stated that The Phones Were only worth 5$ and 50$ For a IPhone 7plus and A Galaxy J7... We turned the phones in to this store in GOoD Working Conditons, they had been in Outterbox Cases and the I phone had recently got repaired... PLEASE.. I sent my mother a new phone in the mail. (I live on the West Coast). She was instructed to go to the AT&T there in Sumter to port her number over to the new phone. Shawn was the customer service representative who handled her situation. He called me to get a better understanding of what we were doing and was able to help my mother - who gets easily irritable and frustrated - with porting her number over. Super friendly attitude, positive attitude. Well done, Sumter store!!
I went into at&t with tears in my eyes and angry and with ANDER & her BRIGHT INFECTIOUS Smile made my day & sat with me until We figured Out The best way for my correct phone to be now apart or the at&t family! I wouldn’t have minded the long wait if me and my family would have been greeted. I went on a Saturday evening and the store was pretty busy with 3 associates waiting. It took about 25 minutes for my family to be seen, which isn’t a problem. My problem came in when I asked the associate “Cole” why they don’t greet customers entering the store. Not only is it the polite thing to do but also safety awareness. He was very nonchalant when I asked him if it was a reason they don’t greet customers. The store got completely quite and the other associates still didn’t greet new customers walking in. He said the manager “Sarge” would be back Monday and I let him know that I would contact him on Monday. I will never go back to this store. I have frequently visited the Harbison store in Columbia and I will make the drive there. I understand that this is an authorized retailer, but they are still a part of ATand T. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and have NEVER experienced sales associates so rude.

During my visit at AT&T, the salespeople that assisted me were very friendly, attentive and helpful! I purchased an iPhone 8 for my son and there were a few problems with setting up the prepaid account for his phone, but I was assured consistently that everything was being taken care of. The crisis was averted and my son has been enjoying the use of his new phone!
April was very helpful and made my switch from Verizon to AT&T very smooth. I appreciate that she was very knowledgeable with the services that AT&T has to offer and placed me on a plan that’s right for my usage and budget! Thanks again April! Very poor customer service. Clerk was flirting with another employee while assisting us and also checking her personal cell phone. After being told that our old phone would be compatible with their service and driving back to our home, 20 minutes away, to get an old bill to obtain the account number of my old service. We were then told the phone would not be compatible with their service and we would need to buy another phone! Love, love, love Verizon and I am once again a faithful customer of Verizon!

Typical AT&T service...it will depend on who you get here. We had to talk to three different people to get the appropriate service, and it took way too long. Also, the man in front of us had been there for almost 4 hours to get a new phone...avoid this location at all costs.
Outstanding customer experience. They know how to treat a guest that comes in.m from the time they greet you to the end when they walk you out the door. Hands down the best experience I’ve had. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Recently switched phone companies and April Gardner the store manager personally help me and was extremely helpful in helping me find the best plan and services to fit my family’s needs and budget. The store was very clean and organized and welcoming and all the employees working there were extremely polite and welcoming as well.

The service was excellent. I only needed to refill a prepaid plan, and the associate who helped me got me in and out in about 3 minutes.
I walked in the store, where there was one rep assisting a lady. Was told someone would see me momentarily, which didnt happen. I asked, POLITELY if there was another associate, only to be scolded: shes on a conference call, can you not just wait? (Youll note the attitude in the quotes here) After explaining that Im on a tight schedule, I asked if should come back. The reply was: if you want to. I heard: no. I have NEVER had such poor customer service in my life. Someone needs to explain to them that their business operates because of the customers and if the service continues down this path, they will soon find themselves looking for a new job. It is well worth it to me to drive to Columbia or Florence to a Corporate store, or even go to our local Radio Shack. I would not recommend this store to anyone. If I could have given them only poor ratings I would have.
Great customer service. I had a very knowledgeable salesperson that was very patient & answered all my question & gave suggestions based on my need & did not try to sell me a more expensive phone. He asked me qyestions of what i wanted out of the phone & offered additional details about the different versions to pick best phone at the best price for my needs. Wish i remembered his name to reccomend him on here.
Things seem to have changed from the older reviews. Their new location is nice and the employees were very helpful and courteous. My old Galaxy S3 was destroyed and I was looking to get a new phone and they helped me upgrade to a newer phone, explained the different pricing/plan options and helped me choose the best choice for my situation. My wife is currently with Sprint, but we will be going back to ATT to change her to their service.

This location LIED to us about upgrading our plan TO SAVE MONEY ( it’s actually almost $100 more) charged us for two phones all to make goal, my bill went up to $600! Then my son went back in and they “fixed” it. That fix only lasted one month! When he went back in they refused to help him. They screwed over a loyal customer of 20 years and lied to a member of the Airforce. Absolutely disgusting.

After reading all the comments I wish things would have been so different for all of you. Management has changed as well as employees and wish it would change your mind of our store. We have a new location with a different assortment of phones. And have some new abilities that we did not have access to in the old store. We arent boasting about our business to say the least but we would rather much so give you a different view of our store.

I came in the store my first 2 experiences good, however when i received my New Note 8 it went down hill fast. Associates could not port over my number to my new phone. It took them Three hours to figure out how to transfer my information and if that was not bad enough when i picked up my phone at the end of the day two of my pieces was missing. Bad. Service sucks.

This is the worst customer service I have received from an AT&T store! The customer representative (didn’t have a name tag, but was in her late 40’s and had long black hair) had a poor attitude from the time I came into the store. Told me she didn’t have time to help me with activating my phone, even though the store was empty and wasn’t closing for another two hours. It is well worth the drive to Columbia or Florence to a Corporate store, or to the local Radio Shack. I would not recommend this store to anyone.

I came into the store and Amanda helped me straighten out an issue with my phone that nobody has been able to help me with after my 5th try. In just a few moments my phone was up and running again! If you let her go, I’ll be going right along with her!!
Honestly, this place is NOT EVEN WORTH A ONE START. Worst Customer Service- do not go to this store to buy your phone or do business with them in anyway. Some of the staff was fairly nice but then the next visit to the store; staff members are horrible, that also includes the management and managers. I upgraded a phone and specifically asked to not have it insured, staff member seem to ignore my request because two days later I got an email from AT&T thanking me for enrolling under the protected plan. Called the store the day after, wanting to know if I could remove one line off my account and have that line run solo, staff member said I would need to be present at the store in order to do so. Drove to the store and they said I couldnt do that at the store, I must call into AT&T customer service line to request for that transaction. My impatient father couldnt stand their customer service so he wanted to just cancel the line completely. They were rude and gave us the most uncomfortable vibe, last but not least, one of the worst experience Ive had for years and they didnt even give us a receipt for our return or at least an option to give us our receipt, could of asked if we wanted one or inform us that a receipt would not be necessary for this return. These people give AT&T a bad name. The Human Resource Department needs to up their game with their interview guides, because phone companies are mainly based on GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, if people are arent getting the great service they pay for then why stick for another year with this Company.

They don’t answer the phone and they will forward your calls & what kind of cell phone store can’t do a hard reset on a iPhone??
Although the sales clerk was knowledgable, we waited for a half an hour without a single acknowledgment of our presence. When we arrived there was only one employee on the floor. After waiting for 10 minutes, another customer came in and walked to the back room where he got another employee and was taken care of right away. Still no acknowledgment of our presence. There seemed to be additional employees in the back because one came out to use the bathroom but overall there was no urgency to help customers or recognize those that were waiting for service. This is my second visit to this store in a year and the previous time, the store was empty and the employees were uninterested in knowing anything about my situation and just told me to contact apple and shoed me out of the store. If the next closest AT&T store wasnt more then an hours drive away, I would never go here again.

Came in the store to add another phone on my account, was scammed into sighing document to check the change in my bill after clearly asking is this a finalized form, left unsatisfied also with a higher bill and customer service rep there could not assist me on deleting other line before I left, also over charged me for my plan and upgraded my plan with out my consent adding extra cost and I knew the difference right away, very unprofessional also told me I was in the wrong about the situation. Further more she deleted my phone number with straight talk (girlfriends phone) and nothing she could do about it. Myself had to call in at&t support and fix the problem because they were clueless and lacked knowledge on the whole situation. spent 2hrs on the phone strighting the whole mess out and still phone bill is higher for one line. WARNING DONT VISIT THIS STORE DO YOUR OWN THING ONLINE, so they wont screw you over. UNPROFESSIONAL, UNSATISFACTORY, LOCATION NEEDS A REVIEW FROM CORPORATE!!

I do not normally leave bad reviews but this is the worst experience i have ever had. Joe and Katie promised us the world and nothing that they said happened. I called ATT after none of things they said were on my bill and ATT and said they never heard of the offers they were offering me. This store needs to be shut down. I have spent hours trying to fix what they were supposed to do from the start.

I like this store and its location, but the management is clearly under performing because they have never had replacement sim cards when I needed them and that has been less than 3 times in 10 years. Why not have more cards in the store if ATT says you can get them locally.
I recently visited this store in hopes to find a phone plan that would fit what I need! I spoke to April and she was very professional and tentative. She did all the leg work for me. April you got the job done and got my phone up and running. When I asked any questions she knew the answer right off the bat and didn’t have to second guess herself. While I was in there trying to switch everything over such as pictures that i didn’t wanna loose my pictures of my adorable puppy Benjamin flocka (Benny) She even told me she was getting a puppy and it happen to be the same bread! Must be a sign if you ask me! She went the extra step and got all my information sent to the new phone! April I love my new iPhone X, wireless charger, case, and screen protector! It was the best thing I have ever done. Even when i left if I needed her or had any questions she would always answer and be willing to help me any ways she can! I am currently on a plan that now fits my budget instead of the 400$ bill from T-Mobile. I switched my whole family over to enjoy the benefits and excellent customer service experience that I had with them. The store is very clean and organized! They have great displays on the walls about the phones. A couple tables to wait if you would have to wait a short time! They show you how to set everything up (visual voicemail, WiFi hotspot, etc. ) I read where all the reviews are bad on here about how they have been treated but I fully disagree with them! Their customers service sucks. Very rude when I showed up at 650pm trying find out about a phone. And they said they are closed, when online it said they dont close til 8am . Never had a problem with att til now.
It has been a couple of months since Ive been to the Sumter office! I prefer using the Florence office (@ David McLeod Blvd.). The staff @ the Sumter office doesnt seem to know the answers to questions they are asked or dont want to take time to help the customers. I hope I never have to do business with the Sumter AT&T again!
Bought a iPhone and tablet that same night my iphone blacked out and would not come on. I took it back to the store that morning n the manager refused to give me another iphone or any other so I asked for a refund I only received $137.00 and paid over $300.00 the manager does not know how to be professional she turns her back on people she does not listen. Called headquarters on her my question is why is she working there shes not a people person, as a customer we should be treated better. I will never go or send anyone to that store. To headquarters people matters we as customers matters, this manager is driving your customers away and sending them to Verizon.
