The staff is always helpful and they know a lot about cameras. Definitely a place to consider when buying a camera. Their other location in Madison has a larger selection of cameras and equipment.

This is my 2nd visit to this camera shop. Both times they had what I needed at a reasonable price. They work with you on price. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and of course friendly. Went to best buy and unique camera and this store had 7 things I needed... Where the big stores did not.

The management/staff here are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I was looking for a camera to take toAK for the photography of wildlife. I was shown a variety of options, had each one explained re: assets and deficits (including price), and referred to the sister store, Madison PhotoPlus, when I selected a camera that was not in stock. However, I am sorry to say that the sister store staff were less than helpful and even misleading. While I would highly recommend The Photo Summit, and would steer clear of Madison PhotoPlus.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. I brought some items to be sold and in hindsight was really cheated.The young girl there is ok. I found the older gentleman to be too much of a pushy salesman, albeit a good one. And Brad, I think that was his name, I have no use for. Very arrogant.It should be said, though, on a positive note, that they have a decent selection of basic gear and tend to favor Promaster for so many items, a brand that’s fairly good and not too expensive.

The photo Summit is the best! I can always count on a perfect print every time and with every trip I make, I get what I want, consistently. Once you experience King quality, you will never accept run-of-the-mill processing, again. If you need special printing, they will work with the colors for a match. You will not get the same color deliverable elsewhere; Ive been in photography for a lifetime and know. Their photo frames are great and the staff is professional, fun and full of expertise. They know cameras, its quirks and how to make them work when you cant. The store is always packed with people - good sign.

Thanks so much to Summit Photo for staying open for me to the last minute. I ran into traffic during the hour drive to my daughters graduation in June 2017 and arrived right at the 5pm closing time. The staff was still busily helping other customers and since I had called ahead they addressed me by name and said that they would be with me in a moment. I waited as they finished helping the other customers, again after hours on a Friday, and then I was courteously assisted with no sense of rush on their part. The rush was actually on me as I had to get to the graduation! I was able to get this shot with the Tamron 70-200 they loaned me at such a great price as well. Of course you cant even begin to put a price on a memory like this. I could not be happier.
