Nice hardware store. Pricing seems better than big box home centers. Excellent assistance from the staff. Carry a good assortment of tools, hardware, and yard supplies. Always go out of their way to enable me to get what I need.

Palmetto Home Center on Dorchester Road in Summerville is a great place to go for all things home and garden items. I really like the selection and prices that they have available. The staff here is very knowledgeable and willing to help when you need it. I have been happy with all of the purchases that I have made from here.

So I went there originally for a funky plant for my Chameleon. The guy in the garden center was so friendly we started talking enclosures which then lead me to working with the young lady who was working the desk to get some PVC piping. Needless to say I didnt even end up taking on the project however...I know where the best hardware store in town is. Ill make sure I let everyone know how great their customer service is.

Went there yesterday to buy chainsaw blades. Knew the models but didnt know the length of chains. Noticed all the associates standing up at the front talking. Went to the lawn service department and not one-time did a associate come back or float around. Had to go up front to get help but they were too busy talking to each other then to help. Even the checkout woman was so unfriendly. Wont go back there again.

Was very clean and everyone was very helpful, greeted as soon as I walked in the door..

I took my children with me, we had to match some stain and paint.The chair wouldnt fit into the cart, but the employee helped me out soooooo much! He opened the door for us, he took his time with us. And....I got what I needed to do the job!!The paint guy Dom(I think his name is?) He did an awesome job matching the paint color. And he told me if it wasnt right, we would make it right.My kids were kinda in the front near the registers and the kids kept looking at the icecream. So- I treated them for good behavior too....icecream for breakfast! Thanks guys, I will def. Be back! Oh!!! And I forgot to get one thing when I went....they have crickets for fishing. :)

Stopped by to place an order for my new aluminum fence. While waiting on a Sales rep to assist me I had to use the restroom. When asked where the facilities were i was told restrooms were not for the public.I guess this public customer will take his private money ( over 10k worth of aluminum fence needed) down the road to a place that knows how to run a real public business.BTW it is against the law to be open for business and not have public facilities.

The nicest incompetent hardware store/small motor rebuild place that Ive ever dealt with. I brought my riding lawnmower in there a year or two ago because the engine wasnt running well at all. After two or three MONTHS and multiple calls it was finally ready. (It was quoted at about $200 and a couple of weeks and the bill was about $400.) It was brought to the house and I tried to mow my lawn. It was almost as bad as it was when they took it. I called and talked to the mechanic explaining what it was doing and how it simply would not run well enough to even cut the lawn. After 5 minutes or so he was shocked to realize I was not satisfied! It took another couple of weeks to make it usable. I spoke with the owner/manager and he apologized and gave me a gift certificate.He asked if I had anything else that needed done and I mentioned I had a rototiller that needed work and they volunteered to work on it for free. When it was returned it took the delivery guy 10 to 12 pulls to start it. That was the only time it was able to be started. (I tried a day or two later, but without success.) So another bad job...My lawn mower is not running well again. I took off the air filter cover off to look at it and was going to see what I could see and then spray some carburetor cleaner into the carburetor. I guess they decided the lawn motor would breathe better without a filter because it wasnt there. So all that dust for the past couple of years has been going into the carburetor without any filter at all.

I always try to buy my goods from Palmetto Home Center. The prices are equal to the Big Box stores, but the customer service is way better at Palmetto HC. These folks know how to treat their customers.

It is a nice neighborhood store. They have what you need without driving a long way to find it. The people who work there know where everything is and what it is and are nice about it

Love this place I always go there because its a small business. This last time I went in and bought a gas inside grill and could not find any propane due to the impending hurricane. I think it was the owner who went to the back and grab two propane is out of his own stock that he bought for his hurricane prep. Very impressed with the customer service and the fact that he cared so much to help me by giving me some of his own supplies we will be back 😀

I cannot say enough about this awesome locally owned company we buy materials for plumbing company at their location almost on a daily basis since they have a great selection,But we rented a bobcat to do some work around our house and we couldn’t accomplish what we needed called them to return machine but instead of just taking the machine back the owner came out on his on time on a weekend and ran the machine for us and showed us exactly what we needed to do. A big chain store would never do something like that.

I try to patronize them 1st as their local guys and if they dont have it then I go to the big Orange or the big blue reluctantlyHeres hoping that they stay around so if you need something check their 1st good peopleAnd their prices might surprise you theyre competitive in A lot of areas.SHOP LOCAL AND KEEP THE MONEY HERE

These guys stay current with trends. If you heard something in a county song chances are they sell it. Yeti 110? Yup. Side by side? Of course. Beer? Sorry no, but they have everything for your home and offer competitive pricing for commercial orders as well. Delivery to most of the low county, including downtown Charleston.

As helpful folk as Ive ever experienced while shopping for hardware. This week I learned a lot from two employees about Stihl chainsaws and the newest features. They took time withme to help, gave useful advice and knowledge, prepped my new saw and weed eater, showed me the starting procedures, and took them to my truck. They maintain the personal shopping experience and remembered me and what I was looking at a week later. I am impressed!

Will not return storm supplies which could be considered 90% of stock in the store. This is why places like Walmart knock out privately owned stores like these. Took a two month old Stihl chainsaw for a bearing issue. They charged me for a tune up. Now it idles for about 2 min and shuts off. Will never go here again.

I went in to buy some sandpaper. They had a pack of five sheets for $5.49, someone had taken 2 of the sheets out of the pack. When I told the manager he told the lady cashier to cut me a deal. Well she cut me a deal alright, instead of calculating the cost of the sheets at 5 sheets at $5.49 which equals approximately $1.10 per sheet, she charged me $3.84 +tax a total of $4.11 for the three sheets of sandpaper which should have been$3.30 + tax of 26 cent or $3.56. I now have a deal for them, its called Walmart, Home or Lowes.
