This is the worst fastenal I have ever been too. Ive been here twice over the last two years to do warranty exchanges on Apex tools. Both times thay have failed to do anything about my lifetime replacement tools. The first time I attempted to exchange an Armstrong breaker bar, I asked what they would do since Armstrong was discontinued that year by Apex. They nicely told me that I would more than likely be getting a Gearwrench replacement but that they would contact Apex for confirmation and took down my name, number, and email. After 2 weeks of nothing, I was in Milwaukee and stopped at the Fastenal there. Thay took my tool and made some calls. In two days I had one of that last Armstrong Breaker Bars made. I can only assumey local Fastenal was silently telling me to f-off. This weekend I brake one of my Armstrong ratchet wrenches. I figured Id give the locals another try. New people this time, I go up to the counter and explain my situation, employee completely useless asks some other employee. Guys an a-hole the second I say I got an Armstrong tool for exchange. Thats discontinued he says (I know I literally opened with I know this is discontinued but), I told him its an Apex tool with a lifetime warranty and Apex is still accepting warranty exchanges. He Replies Apex? We dont sell Apex here. I point to his Gearwrench banner, Gearwrench is Apex and thats what Apex is offering as Armstrong replacements (they also had an Apex signed outside showing the Gearwrench and cresent brands). He asked where I was employed, I replied unemployed (technically full time student but unemployed makes me sound more like a looser so I like going with that). He replies you didnt buy that here we dont do returns (I never said I didnt buy it there I said I dont have a current employer, I did buy this when I worked at N.E.W. Industries a stones throw from your backyard over 8 years ago when you did sell Armstrong, but you dont care your just looking for any excuse too get out of giving me a replacement). Whatever dude Im not playing this game with you. I left and called Apex, they told me to take it to my local Fastenals too get a Gearwrench replacement. I told them that refused and told me they are 100% supposed to exchange my Armstrong tool for the equivalent Gearwrench as they are an Apex tool group distributor selling both Gearwrench and cresent tools but that this is so common that dont even feel like dealing with it and offered to mail a replacement at there expense. Worst Fastenal ever.
