We had a less-than-optimal experience with Dovetail. Measurements were not taken correctly during the consultation for a floor-to-ceiling bathroom cupboard, so when it finally arrived a wall had to be partially taken out 😳. This wasn’t a problem in that the wall was restored nicely, but in the meantime our bathroom was left a wreck for many weeks until the company could get back to us for the unexpected return visit. In the end, the cabinet was still too wide for the space and our baseboard was partially cut away, in a way that is truly unacceptable as an end result. There is square divot sawn completely out—just raw wood exposed, and no way to make it look decent. It is upsetting to me every time I see it (and it’s the bathroom, so…)In our laundry room, a cabinet (I believe?) was dropped onto our brand new washer, which chipped a piece out of the front top silver plastic. Yes, this is a first-world problem, but we saved up for the washer and dryer we really loved, and to see the chipped plastic every day just makes me sad. It isn’t like we can replace it or fix it—I just wanted something nice for A MINUTE. I was truly shocked at all the damage done to our existing home just to get a few cabinets installed.Additionally, the counter installed in the laundry room is supported by a small wooden frame that is visible underneath. One end is painted white and one end is raw wood. Not a huge deal in and of itself, but it just speaks to details not being taken care of, and that is something I would like to be warned about regarding a company I was looking to pay lots of money to and that would be altering my home.We felt lucky that during Covid we could get anyone out to do our small cabinet jobs. I am not unappreciative of that! I am just sad that what we had hoped would be improvements were really trade offs in some sense. I would have paid more to avoid the damages inflicted, if that makes sense? The major cabinetry job, turning an office off the kitchen into a pantry, went pretty smoothly and the end result is 95% amazing. The only drawback is that the shelf brackets were put in opposite to the way I believe they were meant to be installed, so all the individual shelves (mfd) are chipped where they were forced into place. Either that, or the shelves provided by the manufacturer were a sixteenth or eighth of an inch too wide. Either way, almost all the shelves are chipped. Again, I guess this is a first-world problem, but it’s also something that I wish hadn’t happened given what we paid for the product and service. I do want something done right when I pay thousands of dollars for it.
Scott was very knowledgeable and super helpful. He was very responsive and kept an open line of communication the entire time. I am building a house and nothing has gone smoothly except when I went to Dovetail. They were off on there delivery schedule but only because they were early! Which is great. Had one issue with the install but it wasnt their fault and they had a fix immediately. Only thing I wish I would have done is got my countertops through them.
Dovetail recently refreshed our kitchen with beautiful new granite countertops and reworked our existing cabinets flawlessly to incorporate a dreamy smooth apron farmhouse sink and commercial style faucet. They did a wonderful job, detail oriented, kept all their promises, and We could not be more pleased with the final result!
Beautiful showroom and the ladies know their stuff!
