Went in here to buy a used drum kit. Staff was a super bummer. I feel like they would have been happier if I hadnβt walked in the store at allβ¦.I would have left since I felt unwelcome but the kit had the unique dimensions I wanted for my back up kit. ππ€·π»ββοΈ I need other extras but Iβll be purchasing them online.
Very helpful. Had exactly what I needed
Good place to buy cables and picks. Id never buy a guitar here or any other GC for that matter. Sweetwater.com for those types of purchases.
I brought a guitar into the shop for a simple set up. About half an hour later I received a call from the manager telling me that they had destroyed my guitar by dropping it off a top shelf which caused major damage. The manager promised to make it right, however all he would do was give me store credit for the retail price of the guitar. I didnβt exactly feel like getting a guitar from a shop that had just destroyed my previous. He offered to order a new one of the same model however I needed MY GUITAR that day for an event I was taking part in. They refused to give me full retail price in cash and only ended up giving me 3/4 of what the guitar was worth (1300 vs the retail price of 1800). I have spent a lot of money at guitar center over the years, but will no longer be shopping there unless this is made right. The service I experienced at the store was completely unacceptable. There was limited stock of guitars on the shelf and they refused to comp me anything that went over the price of the destroyed guitar. I cannot even begin to tell you how stressful and heartbreaking of a situation it is to have your prized instrument destroyed buy a company who you trusted. I hope that your company is able to make it right so that my faith in guitar center is restored. Please reach out.
Jimbo went above and beyond to get the drum stuff I needed. Salute. π€
Staff is really nice. If they cannot help they will tell you where you can go to get what you need.
Always find what we are looking for. Got a great guitar strap for my son. Service is always good.
The customer service is beyond expectations. Timmy, the manager in the sound department, worked with me and helped me hook up and listen to several different systems until I found the one that was perfect for both my price range and the venue I was working with. All the while letting me play with the systems and still helping other customers. Ended up getting a system that lessens the amount of equipment that I need to take with me and produces a great sound. Kudos to you and keep doing what youre doing!
Got my father in law guitar fixed very reasonable
The young guy at the main counter was very friendly, and helpful in assisting me in picking out a distortion pedal for my grandson.
Great place to get gear. I wouldve left 5 stars if the employees wouldnt have been wearing those goofy useless face masks. Wake up people! Youre being played!
Fraudulent business practices & rude/unprofessional staff. They listed a specific power amp for sale at this location. The GC used gear website showed one model in the pictures (a Crown Power Base 3 [aka-the model I actually wanted]) & a different model (a Crown Power Base 2 [a less powerful model]) in the title. I called to confirm whether the image was correct with an incorrect title or vice versa; I was ASSURED that the image was correct & the title was not. After confirming that I couldnt process a layaway over the phone w/o visiting my local store, I advised Brittany that I was on my way to my local store (11 miles away from home) to run my card & complete the layaway. Less than 20 minutes later, the listing disappears as im halfway to the store. I call back in to inquire, & another rep laughs as she tells me that the amp must have sold right after I got off the phone. Yeah right.I file a BBB complaint. 2-3 days later, the listing suddenly re-appears. I decide to take the incompetent salespeople out of the equation & avoid a repeat by just buying the amp on the GC website (paying IN FULL/no layaway). The next day I call in to inquire about what seemed to be an invalid tracking number. They put the manager on the line (who ultimately turned out not to be the manager at all), & he says that it wont ship out until the following Monday. Great... It finally arrives at the end of that next week & they somehow dug up (& shipped) the model amp that was actually in the TITLE, after specifically stating that they were selling the amp in the uploaded PICTURES; Totally different faceplate, totally different serial number. In other words, they ran a scam on me, which is a first in all of the MANY years I have been doing business with Guitar Center. At this point it was too late to return the amp at my local store as the store was already closed. This forced me to return it the next business day. I filed a complaint at the Guitar Center website, sharing my experience, after which point I received a call from the REAL manager a few days later (I was lied to previously by some random kid at the store who claimed to be the manager [which speaks volumes in regards to the unprofessionalism at this location]). The REAL manager gave what felt like a forced apology, then simply offered to give me a discount on a NEW amp. Im like wow, SERIOUSLY? Thats your best attempt at making this right, by attempting to coax me into spending even MORE money at your joke of a Guitar Center location?? Mind you, the amp I was attempting to purchase was an older model, they dont make them like that anymore, I buy older used items specifically for the better build quality (along with the desire to save some cash), & if I had the money/desire to buy a NEW amp, I would have bought one to begin with. I explained that the purchase was just to get me by until im able to purchase a system w/ built-in power (i.e. QSC K series, Yamaha DZR series), after which point he quickly ran out of steam & rushed me off the phone. Not that it was the purpose of my complaint, but if I was in his position, I would have at least offered a gift card or something that doesnt force the customer to spend money solely at MY specific store, but he clearly didnt feel like my terrible experience at his store (with his lying/unprofessional employees) warranted that. Whatever. All I can say is if you screw me over once, you offering me a discount on my next purchase (at YOUR store location) surely wont encourage me to give you a shot at screwing me over a second time... So much could have been avoided here, yet this store just missed the mark on so many levels & I will never shop at this Guitar Center location again. BOTTOM LINE; If you enjoy bait-&-switch advertising (+having your time/money wasted, as you purchase misrepresented items from dishonest/rude/lying salespeople), then you should be fine here. Otherwise, RUN the other direction. Youve been warned.
Started off with a not so great experience ordering a used amp online. But I took it back to the store they helped me to get a bigger used amp and then refunded the shipping and even offered to give us a deal the next time we purchase from them. They definitely went above and beyond for us. Thanks Brad and Jimmy. You guys are the best.
Being pretty new to guitar, I took my brand new telecaster that i had purchased here to see what the strumming issue was and why there was a buzzing. They assured me that it could be done. $80 later, its still buzzing, and they didnt even set it up like I had asked, they just replaced the strings. Thats it. I wish I didnt buy the telecaster from here, and wish that I hadnt wasted that money when I could go somewhere else. Avoid this place.
Ive never had a bad experience here, and Ive made purchases, returns, and had work done on my guitars. The staff has always been accommodating and helpful.
This store is full of people who love to help others get started on their music journey!Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable in their department and helps the customers to the best of their ability.Yes, there is going to be some corporate red tape that cant be crossed, but I assure you, the employees and managers alike will do everything they can to fix the problem. The store has a homey feel to it, not unlike the mixture of a mom and pop/corporation.And then they also have lessons!! Now with COVID they also offer to do lessons online through Zoom which is fantastic to do in this age. This store will always be my home GC.
My grandson and I were greeted at the door. Asked if they could help us find anything. We were only looking for a new set of guitar strings, but we were treated like Rock Stars. I will gladly shop this store again.
Solid store, great customer service. Employees are pleasant and the managements top shelf.
I went to buy a guitar for my fiancΓ© since he had recommended them. It was when the COVID-19 had begun so I ordered it online. I was informed that shipping time would be a little longer due to what was going on which I understood. However two months later the payment came out of my account which they said would happen once the guitar actually shipped. A few days later I couldnβt find where it came out of my account and couldnβt track my package. The next day I saw the payment taken out and then gone once again. I tried to contact ANYONE from the local store and the company. NOT ONCE DID ANYONE GET BACK TO ME. To make my experience even worse when I was finally able to shop in store they didnβt have anything laid out. (Which I understood that they didnβt want everyone to touch everything) However showing any interest in buying something seemed so inconvenient to the employees that they wouldnβt even let us look. So if you want to be talked to like a child and have employees act like they are too good to acknowledge you this is the place for you. Almost paid $700 for my first order that I never received or got any information on. Then I was ready to spend around the same this time. I guess they donβt actually want people to buy anything. Iβll take my money else where and would suggest the same!!!!
Great customer service, and people skills in general. Looks like stimulus checks have their stock a little low, but theres still some good stuff.
Knowledge able and helpful staff. Great selections.
The new kid was extremly helpful in helping find what i was looking for and explaining verious options surrounding itsApplication and had energy that was contagious ...thanks so much
Great deals. Great customer service.
Great customer service! Very knowledgeable staff!
My wife Bekah has been looking for an Acoustic electric guitar with just the right fit, string action and tone for a long time. We went to many shops and followed up on private ads.She found not one but two new babies at Springfield Guitar center.Special Thanks to Spirit!!!π Spirit is the young lady who took such good care of Bekah for nearly 5 hours. Bekah played every guitar that caught her eye. Did research and talked with fellow customers. We had a budget that we were willing to spend on just the right guitar. She tried Taylors and Martins and MANY others. Spirit and the staff made Bekah feel welcome and unpressured.Bekah chose a Breedlove exotic Myrtle acoustic electric. She absolutely loves it!! Rich tones and easy playing. It was so much less than we budgeted for that she also bought a Gretsch Streamliner electric!!!πΈπWe walked out with two guitars, new straps, nice soft bags, 2 year extended warrantees and a bag of picks for nearly $400.00 less than what we budgeted for one guitar!!πThanks again Spirit, you know well be back!!ππΆπ€
Super friendly staff, not pushy to make sales. Reese was awesome!
I am new to playing but they walked me through what I neededVery knowledgeable and patient
Went with someone else who was shopping there. Some of the staff was helpful.it was ok.
While it is a reliable source for the equipment and supplies, in a seemingly ever-shrinking world of musical retailers, Guitar Center is missing something. Big chain reliability and consistency are traded for the feel of a real music store. Long gone are the days of hometown music stores with local heroes picking and grinning behind the counter and regaling you with stories from the road or the random tidbit about their brush with stardom. The days of finding a real diamond in the rough amongst the trade-ins that one particular member of the staff is completely amped to show off to you are in the past. Guitar Center has a nice inventory and a decent offering of supplies. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. Their pricing, on certain things, is respectable. You can get your stuff here. Just dont expect much help demoing an amp, or that the guitars on the wall will actually be anywhere near in-tune. Dont expect the passion for music that you bring in with you to be reciprocated or shared like a mom & pop music shop in a dusty downtown location would.I shop here. I buy strings here, I come in and dream about being able to afford the guitars on the top row or see what beauty the acoustic room has to tempt me with. This place meets the musicians basic needs and fills an obviously specific gap in a niche market.
Great place to get the latest sound gear I need
Made the experience of purchasing a guitar smooth.Thank you for the staff at the Guitar Center in Springfield a lot easier. π
Maybe its me with big box stores... I go in in looking for a specific item and their out of stock. Such is this case, looking for Elixer medium polyweb acoustic strings (pretty common)... they were out stock, with no idea when they would get any... and of course its Elixers fault. Thanks.
There were some hiccups but Guitar Center took ownership made it right. Got my very first Guitar through them and always relive those memories when looking at new guitars
The selection in store isnt amazing because so many people are buying online, but what they do have is good stuff.
We went in with a mixer bought from a friend, not knowing much about it. We got a great amount of information on the mixer, and other miscellaneous items we needed to do such things with the mixer. We were helped by Jimmy. He was a great worker, and helped with all of our questions. We spent a good amount of time with Jimmy, and he helped us with ALL of our issues. GIVE JIMMY A RAISE.
They have good prices and the customer service is really good.
So I called the store to get some info and advice. Was going to buy a new guitar from them.. the kid I spoke with had to ask the manager about everything, and then finally put me on hold for 5ish minutes before hanging up on me. Tried to call back to talk to a more experienced associate. They let their phones ring and ring and no one answering at all. Will not be buying from them unless they can contact me and apologize for treating me with this disrespect. I called to ask about an acoustic guitar bundle. The kid told me they had a Yamaha bundle for 199.99 I said Ill take it and was ready to give him my card number, thats when he said I need to ask my manager if I can make this bundle work. I said ok and then he put me on hold again... Waited until they hung up. Call back to no one picking up.. unless theyre being held up at gunpoint they should be answering their phones. Im very dissatisfied.
I dont like how you are forced to wear a mask
Very good experience!
Dont really feel like elaborating just trust me. If you use them long enough theyll disappoint you.
Had issue with merchandise bought online. They figured out a way to solve the problem. I wish I remembered their names but the guys were very helpful.
Always love this store. Employers are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Prices are decent as well.
Came in on Saturday 12/26 to get some advice on an old guitar and Josh was knowledgeable and beyond helpful! I wish everyone at every store was as kind as he was!
Good prices and surprisingly knowledgeable staff.
Great Staff and Everything that you need
I wasnt very impressed by the assistance I received while I was there. The kid that came to me didnt know what a baritone guitar was, he didnt know what a fortin 33 boost pedal was. He didnt know any information about Ibanez guitars. The guy working in the computer accessory department didnt of any of the software programs I spoke of which are used among some of the greatest musicians today.Neither po them made me feel like they wanted to actually help me so I wasnt able to make any purchases
Guitar center always has what we need. My last visit was a quick one, or should have been, I was just picking up guitar strings; however, there were not many customer service reps. I got in line at register behind another gentleman. There was one more in front of him being checked out. The clerk was a nice elderly man and I noticed another man helping someone else. After the customer was checked out the elderly man walked into another room. Maybe he didnt notice us waiting. Anyway, after a few minutes of no one coming back to register I went in search for someone to help us. I found the nice clerk that was there before. He thought the other worker was helping us. Nothing at all against the two clerks except maybe pay more attention to your surroundings. To the store, have enough customer service reps, especially when you have a big area with other rooms and counters.
After a rough holiday season, it seems management has taken the proper steps to vastly improve the customer service at this location. I just visited again on 1/14/20, the staff was friendly, inviting, helpful... The store was in excellent order, and this store was back up to par with how a Guitar Center should be. Im extremely impressed!
Friendly staff, helpful and usually pretty busy. Best return policy ive ever had the joy of dealing with. Great selection and useful website. Happy to do business here. 10/10 would recommend
Very poor service. No knowledgeable people there.
Service was excellent. The staff was very helpful and quite knowledgeable. Prices were a bit high but their refund policy is 180 days which is very nice.
Ive been here several times, and I have never had a bad experience. Recently bought a used (like new) Les Paul here for half of the original price, and for only 20 dollars received a 2 year warranty which covers ANY accident, which Im very happy about. They have all kinds of guitars, drums, basses, pianos, microphones, DJ equipment, recording equipment, lighting, lessons, etc. Etc.I usually try to go to places that are locally owned and operated (very sad that Hoover is closing) although Guitar Center does have an excellent selection of quality instruments for reasonable prices
Great staff with a decent selection of gear.
Great service and merchandise!
Best place bought my guitar and for good price ...
I stood and waited forever to purchase strings. 3 guys behind the desk. 1 on the phone. The other 2 were looking at a keyboard. Left the strings and left the store. Will not go back.
Employees are pretty rude and eager to get you away from them. Decent selection of instruments for beginners/novice players.
Impossible to get waited on. Staff too busy discussing with each other how great they are. Use to be a great customer and spent a lot of money there. I wouldnt buy a set of guitar strings there.
I just want to say first of all I enjoy shopping here but I hate the way they treat customers. I called up there to see if they had a guitar in stock and I got put on hold and forgot about. Then I call up there again after 30 min and I get put on hold for a second time. At this point Im getting super frustrated and the guy picks the phone back up and says to me, I have a line of customers can you call back. Now Im just fed up with it. I have bought 2 guitars from them and it will never happen again. Ever. This place is going down hill really quick and its a shame cause they used to be really good.
They were all great and helpful! Am definitely planning on going back again.
Not what I expected from such a renowned music store. Need bigger store and more variety of new and used instruments.
I mean, they have guitars. Theyre somewhat helpful people, but often were there to look for something specific or just play instruments and they generally leave you alone to do those things, which is what my family generally wants. They have a great return policy, and for guitarists and bassists, a String of the Month club. Very cost effective.
Selling some guitars.
They have a strong selection of gear and fair prices. But you can never know what kind of service you will get. Sometimes they acknowledge you and other times I feel ignored. I have walked in many times and an employee never even made eye contact.
As others have said, the people who work here are really good at what they do, super friendly. They always make you feel welcome.
Cool people all around, great services too. Check back frequently!
Great laid back atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff.
Good selection of instruments. Better yet, customer service was outstanding. I bought a set of acoustic strings, along with some electric strings and other stuff, that were on sale for $7.49 only to realize after I had gotten home that I was charged $12.99 for said set of strings. Went back a few hours later and was credited back the $5.50 difference even though someone else had mistakenly put the strings back in the wrong place. Guitar Center, you won my business for life. Well played.
This is a no pressure store that allows much exploration. Just about anything you need and used audio in the back can surprise you every visit. Great prices on used gear keeps me checking them out.
Had what we wanted but the mask thing was a little bit overboard. The price was in our budget.
Always love coming to these stores. Lots of options, staff is always friendly and guitars sound great. My favorite is the acoustic room, a little room sealed off from the rest of the store, with acoustic guitars. Doesnt look like much from the outside, but you wont be disappointed if you stop in!
GC is awesome!! My son is taking guitar lessons here and they are teaching him SO much. He loves it!plus, every time I go in to buy something...its on sale so that rocks!!!
I ordered a used amp directly from the store on Monday, 07/29/19 at 7:45 am (9:45 Central their time). The salesperson said it looked in really good condition so I know that they had it. I told him I really needed it before Sunday, 08/04/19. He said no problem. It would arrive before then. I got an update from UPS early Weds. that said a label had been created on Tues. 07/30 at 4:48 pm and shipped at 6:56 pm. I just received the package at on Monday, 09/05. Its very frustrating that they waited a whole day before sending the package when they had it right there and then shipped so late in the day that I received it late. If I had known that, I would have payed extra to have it arrive earlier.
Always a great time seeing & playing the new instruments while spending money. The staff are very helpful & knowledgeable of the products they have in stock & if they dont have it in stock, they dont hesitate to hop on the internet & track it down & get it ordered for you.
Helpful and friendly staff
Some days its a great experience and others its terrible. Totally depends on whos working at the time. Decent on trade in values and the used gear is usually priced very competitively
Didnt have what I wanted in store, but the clerk helped with ordering it online and it should arrive at the store soon.
Easy to navigate, even for someone who doesnt play an instrument...yet.
As always the friendly knowledgeable people of guitar center save the day
Great, relaxed atmosphere to learn to play guitar. Tia and Alex have been wonderful with my 7 year old grand daughter.
Terrible service. I was shopping for a guitar pedal, and the one in stock was in their display case. When I inquired about purchasing it, the man who was helping me said he didnβt feel like looking for the box and that they couldnβt sell it to me without the box, and then just stood there doing nothing until I said I was going to pass on it, which he then replied, βYeah, thatβs probably better.β Skip the super corporate runaround and just go to Springfield Music.
Its a good place to go for a moderate selection of musical instruments. The employees seem nice enough. Not the best prices but convenient if you want or need something quick.
I hardly play instruments. But I have several musicly inclined humans Im friends with so we go here and usually window shop. Its super fun to walk around and admire the instruments and play around with them a little.Prices are reasonable and the employees are friendly. you can also purchase used equipment which is ideal for me... Id like to learn drums so maybe one day Ill walk out with some.
They had a TON of items in one area that was not priced at all. When asked why no prices on those items they BLAME customers for tearing tags off.... I said there is NO WAY a customer tore EVERY single tag off. I will not buy anything from a store that does not advertise their prices UP FRONT!
This place is awesome. Staff is helpful and approachable. Very accommodating. Lessons are affordable and offered at convenient times, and the instructors we have met are encouraging and kind. (Especially Tia!)
Was going to buy a drum kit (assuming availability), some guitar strings and maybe some additional accessories I of course donβt need, but nice to have. But you lost that with your mask requirement. So now, Iβll go local small business. And then Iβll do it the next time. And the time after that.
The drum selection is very limited and there are never any staff members there who specialize in drums. The other staff are nice but are not necessarily knowledgeable in that area. Also, any random person can come in and beat on the drums aimlessly for an extended period of time. Which is quite annoying. Maybe make a sound reduction room if you want to offer that level of service. Its distracting to everyone, it obnoxious, and rude, even to other drummers.
They get 2 for being there and open.. but, heres a news flash for them... the old guys with white hair are statistically going to have more money... your young employees seem to not want to assist very much.. was it my hair or are they just lazy?
The employees were very nice and very helpful
If you are looking for lessons ask for Alex hes a great guitar teacher. Hell play at your pace. They also have a wide variety of guitars, drums, bass guitars, keyboards, and other electronics and accessories.
Nice shop, I great instruments... A little low on their offer for a guitar I was selling.
Great service
It would be nice if anyone answered the phone at this business. So far. Not impressed.
Great selection if instruments and equipment. The staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable.
