Wow, what an amazing place. I have bought from the shop as well as taken lessons for several months now (in both playing and recording) and am just thrilled at the fact this opened near me. Obviously, they have an unreal selection of vintage percussion. But they also feature a great curriculum, for students of all levels.Though Im a life long musician I am barely a novice at playing drums. Well, in what felt like no time I learned the fundamentals here and vastly improved my limited playing. When I struggle, my instructor is patient and easily finds a way to demonstrate and adjust things for me that suit my own individual style while being rooted in technique. On top of that, my understanding of recording, mixing, and all things recording related to drumming has vastly improved as well. When I inquired about their services, it was obvious they could assist me in anything from beginner to advanced, recording to processing the instrument, etc. On top of that, you get to play incredible sounding vintage drums during the lessons! As a music nerd, you cant ask for more.I highly recommend stopping in here because it needs to be seen to be believed. Photos give you an idea but walking up those stairs in person is something else!
My daughter (7 years old) loves Wood & Weather and her teacher, Colin. He’s patient and makes it super fun for her. Right from the start she was learning terminology and reading notes. Love their approach to learning and I would absolutely recommend the school!
My band recently rented a drum kit from W&W for a studio tracking session. We’re a prog/heavy metal band, and we wanted to record something better than the beat-up drum set that we’ve been lugging around to shows. We came to W&W looking for a flexible and punchy kit, as well as someone to set everything up for us at the top of session (so we could concentrate on our performances rather than our gear).W&W overdelivered and then-some. They were super easy to work with and provided a professional, top notch kit that was set up perfectly for our exact use case. It was easily one of the best kits we’ve ever used (and by far the best snare). Price was super reasonable, too. For our next record I honestly can’t imagine doing it any other way.
Great space with a TRULY great teacher - what more could you want?
W&W is an excellent store. They’re very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended
Top Notch Vintage Drum Shop! Highly recommended if in the area and prefer Vintage over modern.
