Bella checked us in. I received a text making sure everything was okay in our room and if I needed anything, to let her know. She gave excellent service! We forgot our toothbrushes, she bought some to the room. Needed more coffee, no problem. She went out of her way to make our stay perfect! Thank you for an awesome stay at the University Plaza Hotel!

Arrived at 3pm to check-in before a 5pm wedding. We were told our room was not ready yet, despite check-in being at 3pm. We said it wasn’t a big deal and we would go get a quick bite to eat. Came back at 4pm and the room was still not available with no timeline of when it would be available. When we explained that we had to be at a wedding in an hour and asked if there was someplace we could get ready, we were recommended to use the lobby rest room.

I stayed in a suite with poolview for a conference and left with mixed feelings.Positive: the room was nice and had all the amenities and good coffee. The staff was helpful with providing documentation that my sponsor required.Negative: we had a loud pipe noise every 10 minutes for all our stay. It was impossible for me to relax and sleep during my first night. It was LOUD. Also, we found a couple bugs during our stay.

The room spells like mold. The HVAC does nothing at all. Were stuck at 73 terrible smelling degrees despite the fact that its 50 outside. The idiots next to us can hear clear as day how theyre evading paying sales tax because theres no sound barrier at all. It was cheap so cant be too mad but this place is suitable for college students at best. Just stay anywhere else.

When I first arrived the room I went into the sink look like it recently overflowed it was not cleaned out. I went and requested another room and that room the shower head had calcium built up on it and they did not change out the toilet paper roll, and the vent was filthy. I do not want to change rooms again. However I was going out to dinner with family and I asked them to have that cleaned while I was gone. When I got back it was late I did not check and when I woke up in the morning realize it was not done! This was my second time staying there the first time was just fine, but on this trip I will never be back. We did have really good service from the bar and one of the bellhops named Randy was phenomenal. Gave us good recommendations on where to go in town.

Hotel needs serious updating and remodeling. Very expensive room - over $250 per night - and it was old and things were falling apart. Old, dirty, green 70s carpet, broken toilet seat, moldy ceiling, bed that was uncomfortable and felt like the base was broken, and a serious need to put in some usb charging ports. For a business hotel that is a necessity. Not worth the money.

I drive tour buses and stay here several times a year usually 6-7 days at a time. This is a very nice hotel in a quiet historic district and is very safe. I have gotten to know several of the staff on a first name basis. Justin and Krista, managers here, are wonderful people who will bend over backwards to accommodate any reasonable request you might have. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to speak to them when you see them in the hallways. Hannah at the front desk is an amazing young lady who conducts herself with genuine professionalism and friendliness. Others include Kristi, Iris, Parish (I hope I spelled his name right) and Ashley. There is shuttle service available to and from the airport and the shuttle drivers are very friendly. I am sure I left someone out. Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel. There are plenty of restaurant options nearby including historic downtown Springfield which is within walking distance or there is free parking downtown if you are unable to walk. There are occasional maintenance issues you may find when you check into your room due to the pandemic and they like everyone else are short staffed. Simply report any issues you may see and they will take care of you. With as many rooms as they have and the size of the facility they cannot be aware of every little issue, especially if the previous guest in your room did not report it. They want to know where the problems lie so they can address it and give you the best possible stay they can. I always look forward to staying here. I also recommend the food. The restaurant is limited due to Covid restrictions and when I was there the evening meal is ordered at the bar. The food is outstanding and I enjoyed visiting with other patrons that were there as well as Krista and another worker whose name I cannot remember. This review is lengthy but I have the highest regard for what I consider new friends at this hotel and the establishment as a whole. Please give them a try. I dont believe you will be disappointed.

Atrium was beautiful, but nobody was using it. The entire hotel was outdated and the check in girl was less than friendly. There was NO breakfast, the dining/restaurant area was closed and just looked/felt abandoned. Our room took all night and into morning to cool down to 70 degrees. The one night stay cost us about $250 🤔. My guess is that the clientel they usually serve are willing to pay this just do to the proximity to the university. Definitely will not be returning.

Definitely NOT worth the money. Hotel is outdated. The room was worn and not kept up, air conditioner took all afternoon and all night to finely get down to 70 degrees (it was not exceptionally hot outside), toilet had to be flushed more than once to fully flush, shower was weak and old. We were charged $50 more than quoted on Travelocity for no apparent reason. Staff was less than friendly. No breakfast provided despite their claims, bar closed early and was very expensive. We paid $250 for one night… I have stayed at nicer hotels that are up to date, cleaner, and offer breakfast for less than half the price.

Got to the hotel to check in at 4. Was told all 3 rooms that we booked were so dirty from last night that they were still being cleaned and it would be at least an hour until they were ready, so we couldnt check in. They called to let me know 40 minutes later that one room was ready. Asked how long until the other two would be ready and was told, We have no idea. Told them we were going to a baseball game (the reason were up here) and asked if checking in after the game finished would be an issue. Was told the game doesnt start until after 7 (it starts at 6). Again, asked if we could check in after the game. Was told, Well since the game doesnt start until 7, youll have plenty of time to check in before you go to your game. Well surprise, the game starts at 6, like we said. They would not guarantee we would still have the rooms if we tried to check in after the game. Im really not a person who complains a lot, like, leaving this review makes me feel bad. I realize things happen they cant control. But this could have been handled SO much better. Also, just FYI, theres a $10 service charge per person per service for almost everything. Wifi, shuttle, etc. Its a very nice hotel, but with all of these problems and extra charges at how much it cost, I probably wont stay here again.Edit: My husband talked to the front desk. They said they could offer free shuttle service to the game instead of $10/person, which was very kind of them. We gave them the cell numbers of every adult in our group and they said theyd call us and check us in over the phone. Its now 7:04 and they still havent called. Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.

It looked as if they removed the coin machine and didnt bother to sweep up the accumulated dusk. Washer and dryer both very old. The Ice machines were not working on all floors. Just a bad experience. There for Wind Ding and they were very unprepared to accommodate us. Gave out of food from the little eatery and only had the breakfast buffet open one morning. Sold coffee cups for $22 with the premiss that you could get coffee anytime for free. However coffee was not being made or they were out after the breakfast hour. Parking was not limited to hotel guest so had a hard time parking on site.

I really wanted to give a better score because the hotel staff is so nice and accommodating all around but we had problems. Air conditioning did not cool our room so we needed to move to another room during the night. Our original room had a refrigerator, which we requested at check in, however once we changed rooms there was no refrigerator and were told no room with refrigerator was available. We did get the air conditioning though. Our bath tub is very dangerous and this room should not be made available until fixed. Under the tub liner is a bubble that moves while you stand in the shower. My husband slipped and held on the wall. Very dangerous. The Q restaurant had towels pressed against the food counter sopping up water. Covid restrictions in place.

They proceeded to charge my card for an extra $50 that we did not charge and it has been 2 weeks and we have not gotten our money back. They claim that the funds were released, but my bank does not show that. We have had to go through a dispute process with my bank to get the money back. The hotel was the HOST hotel for the annual GWRRA Wing Ding. We stayed here for a week, and the rooms were very nice. The public areas and lobby area was very nice and clean. The issue I have is our room could only be serviced every 4 days! Ive never heard of anything like it! If we wanted towels, we had to call for them (we left the dirty towels outside the door). If our trash became too much, we put it outside the door, but had to call for new trash liners. Same for coffee, cups, TP, etc. They had a Coffee shop but it was only open until 10am. There was a restaurant and a Lounge, but the restaurant wasnt open, and the Lounge didnt open until 5pm and had a very limited menu. These people are really missing the boat. Wingers are big eaters! F u r looking for a place to stay that is loud, constant slamming of doors, people in the main area partying until all hours of the night, (it is 12:28am)....this place is for you!!!!! The restaurant and pool are closed with no mention of this on the website. Oh yes, I almost forget....one of the two elevators is out of service on a busy tournament weekend and the air in our room doesn’t work. Woohoo glad we are only here for ONE NIGHT! The only positive was the lady at the desk. Don’t remember her name, believe she was the manager. She was very nice and professional.

Great place and very close to downtown bars and clubs. I actually heard it was haunted and wanted to see if it was true... glad to say it is lol stayed in room 701 my boyfriend and I both saw a man standing by the window leaning against the wall. All in all great place to stay if you’re going out at night.

Positive: The hotel looks nice on the outside and inside when u first walk in. Negative: I did not like how the hotel room was dirty and had bugs in the room. I also did not like how they were unorganized about doing the schedule for the shuttle to the airport also I did not like being talked to as if my stay did not matter

Rooms are outdated with no refrigerator or microwave. Shower was clogged. Nice location though and cool lobby area.
