Car was extremely dirty when I went to test drive, had to wait for it to be cleaned and it was a rush job. Getting paperwork and financing done was a breeze that’s why I gave it a 1, overall experience could be way better. It takes forever to get calls returned or you have to call them to ask why no call yet, servicing the vehicle is rushed and inconvenient you have to set appointment weeks out to get things done that should’ve been done before purchase. I love my vehicle though

Love the car but it was a horrible shipping process. 11 days to ship a car 300 miles and no one could tell me where it was or that the car even was delivered to the local store. I found out when I showed up at the store. Great car easy financing process but whoever is in charge of shipping deserves to be fired. 3 stars just because i like the car.

CarMax did a great job of covering all the bases. Got a great deal and recieved a gem of a car. Couldnt have asked for better!!! My only issue was the push for the CarMax Care package that is way overpriced. Not only would it have jumped my car payment 60-70 dollars higher, but when I asked how much the diagnostic fee/deductible fee would be, there was no answer given or gotten since I knew that there is always a fee whether its a Dodge, Ford or Chevy dealership just to name a few, not just CarMax. Still, I would and will do business with Jerry and Tyler at CarMax Springfield in the future.

I do not ever leave a 5 star ratting but.... this place is a gift from god I have the worse credit in the world and still walked off the lot with a 2017 Chevy Malibu😍😍😍😍 I have had it almost 2 years now and I’m still so happy with it only have had one issue with it and it was just wear and tear on the car from me excellent condition and will be returning to purchase an SUV for my family.

We were told to go outside unless we wore a mask. It was cold and windy. Instead of offering us a mask they talked to us outside. they told us we could go walk around the lot and that was all the service that they provided for us. It was almost like they didnt want our business. I wont be going back.

I went today to get air in my tires due to the gas station s was out of order, and yes I bought my truck last year March from them and I decided to go to them. Im glad they are still working and customer service friendly everytime.Thank you again guys

Drove 270 miles to test drive a Tahoe with 25,000 miles. The engine missed and the check engine flashed and It was not very clean inside. Not impressed

It took way to long to be able to get my vehicle. I was told I only needed two items but shortly after arrival there were more things I need. I had to visit the store three times a total of 8 hours altogether before I finally was able yo drive away! My car needs an alignment, oil change and the brakes are squeaking.

Youre better off going to the shadiest used car salesman u can find. They made a low ball offer on my Truck and tried to sell me one of their over priced POSs with interest so high, Id still be paying on it when Im in a nursing home! Honestly, my experience was that they tried to take advantage of me, just be careful...Might as well go to a REAL dealership.

The process of selling our car was quick and easy. They did a thorough hands free appraisal and gave an offer that was comparable to KBB & Carvana. We had 7 days to accept the offer. Once we accepted, it was a relatively quick process to sign the necessary papers and receive the check. Tyler did a great job of explaining the process and I would highly recommend him, as well as Carmax if you need to sell or trade a vehicle.

When signing the paperwork for your car they make you feel like your covered. But if ever there is a problem all the sudden you have a deductable to pay to have it fixed. This was NEVER told to us at signing.

Purchased a 2017 Ford Focus ST. This was the second car from CarMax and it won’t be my last. Staff worked with me to ensure I was 100% satisfied with the car. I hate dealerships but CarMax has a completely different feel and it why I’ll continue to go back and recommend them to others.I gave 4/5 stars only because there were some spots where communication was lagging. But overall a great experience.

I never enjoy spending large amounts of money. So for me to give you 5 stars you did a lot right. I loved the no pressure sales approach. I live 50 miles away from the store I bought from. I am a firm believer in buying local. The whole process was smooth and mostly painless. I will give you a look whenever Im in the market again. The only thing I would recommend would be a referral bonus. Most car lots are giving $50-$100 referral for cars purchased. Makes a person want to reccomend you to his friends.

Short backstory: I was at the last 3 months of a current lease. When the local dealer couldnt make me the deal I wanted on a new lease, Car Max came to the rescue. Since my leased car had so few miles on it, Car Max bought my car for about 3k more than what I had to option to buy it for. That is money in my pocket. Literally from appraisal to finish, these men and woman were amazing. Extremely low pressure, friendly, and were all wearing masks to respect concerns over COVID. I cannot sing their praises enough, and will recommend this business to anyone who wants to listen. Although I did not purchase a car from them, their attitude never changed. A great business model in the car industry. Bravo, Car Max!

CarMax is a great place to shop for a used vehicle at a great price. They also offer top dollar for used vehicles. They were well above other offers on my car when I sold it to them. They buy vehicles from owners and it is so simple (give them the title and they give you the money for it). Also very friendly staff and a clean welcoming waiting area.

This was our first experience with CarMax, and it was a very good experience. We made an appointment to see the car, and they held the car for us for two days until we could get there to see it. When we arrived, the staff was very courteous and professional. The car was just as it was presented. After two test drives, we decided to purchase the car. The closing process was as quick as it could be given all the paperwork, but still a good experience. There was an issue with a turn signal, but they scheduled an appointment so we could get it fixed at no cost. So, overall, I would recommend CarMax as an option if you are in the market for a car.

I needed a car after mine was totaled when a 18 year old kid pulled out in front of me. I wanted a newer Honda fit with a manual transmission. Not ready to find. CarMax had one in another state and transferred it to my local store free.Got a call that it was here and 45 minutes later I was test driving it. Bought the car and the process was easy. No pressure at all and the price was fair. The whole process took about 1 hour from when I got there to when I drove off in the new to me Honda fit.I would consider doing this again.

The best car shopping experience Ive ever had. Mike was the one who helped me, he introduced himself then took me out to the lot, he told me to go ahead and look around and see if anything interested me and that hed be back to check on me in a bit. I wondered around looking at their selection for about 15 to 20 minutes, at least I think thats how long it was, I really wasnt keeping track because I was enjoying browsing through all the car with a salesperson talking in my ear nonstop, they dont do that here. When he returned he asked if I had found anything that interested me, I told him I had, he took me back to his desk, pulled up info on the car and bought the car around to take me to rest drive it. Everyone here was helpful and pleasant, never did any of them ever try to pressure me into a sale. I highly recommend this car lot, Ive never been able to say that until now. Everyone was so helpful 😁😁 they did everything they could to help me out. I did not have a lot of money to put down but they were able to help me find what I needed and worked on getting me approved. They were so friendly and nice I felt very welcomed. They did not push me to but a car I did not want and listened to want I did want and needed.

Walked in to test fit a certain car (Im 66 and needed legroom)....they were extremely helpful, and ended up ordering a car shipped to Springfield IL location, went back in after it arrived, and drove it away....undeniably the most hassle-free car buying experience I have ever had.

Definitely going to continue to shop at CarMax. I got a great deal, and the people were great. There were some delays, paperwork issues, and a broken part that CarMax replaced within the first 30 days, and the first car I nearly bought had to be returned in the 7 day trial period, leading me to have another car transferred. The service recovery was awesome, but I would have preferred to not return to the store 3-4 times after the purchase, and vehicle delivery time was longer than expectedAll is well that ends well. CarMax stood behind their sale. Just remember: all dealerships buy their cars at the same auto auctions, they have little control over mechanical conditions that arent easily detected. ALWAYS have a used car inspected by an independent mechanic. I love my car and got a fair price. I enjoyed the pressure free atmosphere, and would recommend CarMax to anyone.

One thing that stood out at this Carmax is how friendly the people are. Very little pressure too! Prices are 3-4 grand over the value of the car so don’t expect a steal here. Don’t even think about trading in an older car, my perfectly clean running, reliable, and functioning Honda was appraised and 30% of its value.

Spfld IL, What a joke! They say they offer top dollar for your vehicle running or not. How so? when I brought a vehicle in(02 Dodge Durango) mint condition in (only thing wrong was the fuel pump ceased up a month prior) they offered me $100 when KBB quoted it $1500. I left furious and would of been happy with $500-$1000, I called a salvage yard and got twice as much. Thanks for nothing Carmax. Be prepared to be duped.

Service after the sale was insanely good. Carmax in Springfield sold me a Chevy Volt at a competitive price, then enabled me to use Carmax Bloomington (which is closer to home) for a warranty issue. While the issue was being worked on, they gave me a loaner, looked up other service bulletins unasked (not just recalls) and fixed those, too. Washed the car and topped off the gas and electric charge upon return. Best dealer experience ever.

My 2004 F150 was getting long in the tooth and I decided to look for a newer one. I had seen the new CarMax store in Springfield so I went on line. I found several vehicles that fit my requirements, but none in the local area. However one was in Indiana and they could ship it to Springfield, no charge, for inspection and test drive. So I went to the local store and started the procedure.I had an offer on the old truck within an hour, and it was a fair offer, so we proceeded to have the other vehicle shipped in. It arrived sooner than they estimated. I was very satisfied with the entire experience, and the new to me vehicle is everything CarMax said it would be. No complaints at all.

Carla called me with price and helped me get financing in minutes, they drove my car from bloomington to springfield for me, i test drove it and sign it the same day with no huge wait time or hiccups, and with all of that i got the car i wanted with a low payment.
