Great little store for all your long and short term camping needs! I think they even have boats inside. The staff was helpful and pleasant! I will definitely return!

Ozark Adventures has been in the Springfield area for decades at this point, and I have bought so much gear from them over the years. They have outlived other outdoor stores and have proven to be a staple in the Springfield market. Their customer service is great, and their selection is varied and broad across a whole range of outdoor needs. They have clothing, shoes and hardware of all sorts for climbing, hiking, water activities, and camping. They serve the Ozarks very well.

I bought some climbing gear for my business that we didnt end up needing. I read on the receipt I had 30 days to return my gear and it didnt say anything about not accepting climbing gear back as return items. I went in to try to return $300 worth of gear and someone at the front desk told me that the gear was non-returnable when it didnt say it on the receipt. If I would have known this I wouldnt have bought anything so now I have $300 worth of gear that I can not use and wasted funds.

Every time I have shopped here for something specific they have been the most helpful and understanding group of people you could ask for. Ive bought shoes, a kayak and accessories from Ozark Adventures and each time not only was i blown away with the quality of the products they carry but also with the customer service level and attitude of the staff. Keep doing what youre doing, Ill be a long time customer.

This was my last time shopping there. Big guy follows me around the store EVERY TIME. I even left my coat and phone in the truck so he wouldnt be suspicious of theft. Also again, not finding what I need because gear is decorative, not really in stock.

Im not exactly sure what the deal is here. Its an outdoor store that has next to no outdoor gear. The maybe 5 things they Carry are super basic dollar store quality items with straight up bass pro prices.. im so confused 🤔 best guess is either theyre going under and have just accepted it or this is just purely 101 camping in the backyard type of store disguised as intermediate to advanced outdoor outfitter. Just my thoughts

I visited this store about two days to purchase sunglasses and other equipment to help me throughout my field season during my graduate program. My first visit was great the two women there were amazing and extremely helpful. However today, I was met with a man who did not want to help me at all. I wanted to exchange the sunglasses for a more expensive pair but he did not want to work with me for an exchange even with a receipt in hand. I’ve worked retail for many years and there many ways to satisfy a customer. I do absolutely everything I could to make sure my customers are happy, within reason. This just showed how much this store appreciates their customers. For a local shop I expected better service. In fact I hear that this store is a let down from what it used to be. This trip confirmed that quickly.

Stopped by looking for a carry-on compliant bag for an upcoming trip to Italy. The gentleman that helped me was extremely helpful, even going so far as to take down my information to let me know when they get a new batch of bags in from an upcoming shipment since they did not have what I was looking for at the time of my visit. 10/10 service; highly recommended! Looking forward to continuing to do business with this store.

Very dissapointed in the lack of product, I went in looking for camping gear, floating gear, hiking gear and found very overpriced, basic products. Nothing that looks any different from the big box stores around. I was really hoping to find new exciting, eco friendly supplies I could try out but this store is nothing like that. The lady that was running the store was also uninterested in helping us at all, when asked if she had something I was looking for in stock she said no and walked away. Rude and truely dissapointing store. I had higher hopes.

I came in with loose racks on an 18 year old truck with an equally as old yakima rack system. I was greeted kindly and warmly they couldnt even order the pads for my rack system cause they were out of production. But they found an old used yakima system with like new pads on it. Help me install to the exact length required for my truck, after installing they only charged me 10 dollars for all their effort. It saved a trip to the boundary waters for me and 3 friends. They really are a great company, and have earned a life long customer.

The camping store equivalent of best buy, only with a poorer return policy. Go to this store to try on/test products, but do not buy here.3 reasons why:1.) They do not price match any other stores. Its 2016...2.) They will not refund your money if you need to return a product. In-store credit written on a piece of paper is all youll get. This is a really slick way to keep you coming back to their store... better hope they carry the actual product you wanted, and better hope you dont lose your in-store credit receipt. Otherwise theyve got your money and the product you returned.3.) All book keeping is done by hand, which means if you lose your paper hand written receipt and need to return the product, youre completely out of luck. They have no computer system in place to verify that you bought the product in their store, and will use this claim to keep you from swapping out products.The employees are typically nice and helpful, but the owner is either up to no good or unaware of good business practice. Why would you buy from a store where there is absolutely no possible way to get your money back? Shop on amazon or go across the street to dynamic earth. This shops policies are a joke.

Nice store, nice staff, I have an issue with their return policy, If you try and return something for any reason they will only give you store credit, not sure thats legal, I tried to return an item in less than 24 hours of purchase I had my receipt and original tags were still on item, (wrong size) they offered to order the size i needed but it would take 10 days, I didnt want to wait that long, I didnt want to make a scene so I just kept the item that is to small for me out of frustration, I had planned on purchasing a coat, but will not do business with a company that has an exchange policy that forces me to do business with them, I try to keep my business local but in an age that Its easier and less expensive to buy online. they should more concerned the customer satisfaction.

My organization has done business with them for years. Great little local outdoors store. They typically only carry mid to high end brands. Staff are amazingly knowledgeable and helpful and are very willing to give advice in products and activities. The store is a little small and sometimes you cant get exactly what you want right away, but Ive had good luck with them being able to order whatever Ive needed.

Surprisingly, its one of only a couple dedicated outdoor supply stores in the Springfield area. Clothing, smaller backpacks and hiking accessories downstairs and some kayaks and larger packs upstairs. Not a huge place, but, has a very good selection of outdoor related gear and prices are decently priced as well.

Staff was super helpful in picking out some new sleep mats, and answering a few other questions for us.

The sales person that waited on us seemed to know the products well and was very helpful. We did not feel rushed at all. No pressure sales. The hiking boots we bought have proven to be just what we wanted/needed.

Purchased a Mad River three person kayak/canoe here at Ozark Adventures. Its been a great canoe! Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

I wish zero stars was an option. I had purchased an item in the store that I actually didnt need. I was not informed while in store that they do not accept returns. I had to find that out through a secondhand source, so I called to see about the possibility of making a return, considering I purchased the item less than a few hours before. On the phone, the gentleman said that they would be able to make an exception since I had bought the item just a little bit earlier. Less than an hour after that call, l went to the store to make the return and was shot down. Not pleased with my experiences with this store.

I received a Christmas gift from this store and I did not receive the receipt with the gift. I tried to exchange the item for something similar in the store shortly after Christmas, the item still had the tags on it and had never been worn. When I went into the store they said that since I did not have the receipt that they would not exchange it for anything because they could not make sure that my North Face hoodie had came from their store.

I went in for a climbing rope, they only have static ropes. Very pushy sales staff too, if you are going for climbing gear I would suggest Zenith or a Gearhead.
